San Diego Padres

The Padres might be improved this season but playing in the tough NL West it might not show much. We are not seeing much so far and the offense is really struggling. They are not getting much from big free agent Eric Hosmer just yet.

Joey Lucchesi has a tidy ERA under 3 but just 9 innings through a couple of starts. He held the Rockies to just 1 hit over five innings in his last outing though. Lets see if they have learned anything from that first exposure.

Colorado Rockies

The Rox are .500 heading into Monday’s action. Not bad given they have been getting next to nothing on offense from players not names Charlie Blackmon and Nolan Arenado. Perhaps this will be the series it starts clicking.

Tyler Anderson has not been very good through a couple of starts. However, he faced the Padres in their last series and pitched 6 shutout innings. They need him to be more consistent but I like the matchup.
