Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates got smacked by visiting Oakland in the first of three games over the weekend but bounced back to win the final two by two runs each.
They got Monday off and then beat Texas on Tuesday. The two teams will play one more in Pittsburgh on Wednesday before the Bucs get out of town and make their first visit of the year to Busch Stadium.

Starling Marte and Gregory Polanco each had two hits and each drove in and scored at least one run in Tuesday’s win. Seven different pitchers combined to fan twelve Rangers.
Pittsburgh lost two of three to the Cardinals in Pittsburgh early in April but both of the losses came in extra innings. Joe Musgrove has a 2.63 ERA and a WHIP barely over 1.00 but he’s just 1–3. St. Louis Cardinals
St. Louis beat Philadelphia on Monday, 6–0, behind seven brilliant innings from Miles Mikolas, who looks like he’s getting it together after a slow start to the season.
The same could be said about Aaron Nola, who limited the Cardinals to three hits over six innings in Tuesday’s 11–1 revenge. Nola struck out seven and walked just one and Bryce Harper hit a grand slam. Five other Phillies drove in runs.

Michael Wacha is a former NLCS MVP and All-Star but I would expect him to be in St. Louis’ rotation much longer, if it didn’t have all the problems it does.
In six starts, he’s giving up just about exactly one hit per inning and walking two every three innings. That’s too much to pitch around, even if he is averaging a career-best 9.5 strikeouts per nine innings.
