The Cubs got an unexpected off day on Thursday as their season finale vs. the Reds was postponed due to rain. Chicago is chomping at the bit to get back on the field after losing 12-7 to the Reds on Wednesday.
Pittsburgh had chance to take a series win vs. the Brewers but had some bullpen issues in the first game and wound up 1-2. It’s the second straight 1-2 series vs. a division opponent after the opening weekend vs. St. Louis.

The Pirates are a pretty up and down team as they looked great in an 8-6 win over Milwaukee on Tuesday before getting shut out 0-3 in the finale on Wednesday. Pittsburgh was 8-11 vs. the Cubs last year with a -37 run differential.
The Pirates will get a chance to face Yu Darvish on Friday and he struggled in his opener allowing 3ER on 6 hits in just 4 IP vs. the Brewers. Pittsburgh has just a .115 average vs the Cubs pitcher though.
Trevor Williams is up in the rotation for Pittsburgh after recording just 11 outs in his season debut vs. St. Louis. Williams has nightmares about Wrigley Field though after allowing 15 ER in 17.2 IP over two starts last year.
