Philadelphia Phillies
Zach Eflin is a good-looking young starter. He had a solid season a year ago and just turned 25. Unfortunately, his first start as a 25-year-old didn’t go over well. Eflin gave up three home runs to the Marlins en route to six runs in four innings and his first loss of the season.

Prior, though, Eflin had been fantastic. He had given up just nine hits, one walk, and one run in a dozen innings in two starts and has still just walked one in three outings this season.
Philly has been win-one, lose-one for about the last week now but it stomped the Mets on Tuesday, 14–3, behind five RBI games from both Scott Kingery and JT Realmuto.
That series concludes on Wednesday before the Phils play the very next day in Colorado.
Colorado Rockies
The Rockies, meanwhile, swept a mini two-game series on Tuesday in San Diego and will get Wednesday off to return home and get settled before this series. They host the Phils for four, the Nationals for three, and then get a day off before hitting the road again.
Jon Gray had been pitching pretty well this season and finally got his first win with seven innings of one-run ball against the Friars.
Colorado’s offense hasn’t been as good in the last couple seasons as we’ve grown accustomed to it being over the decades but it can’t possibly remain as bad as it has started out this season.
It hopes to support Kyle Freeland, who left his last start with a blister but it, supposedly, just fine to make this start.
