Oakland Athletics
The A’s split four games in Arlington and they’ll face Charlie Morton on Monday. Bob Melvin will probably throw Daniel Mengden against Morton but he’s been using his mustached reliever in conjunction with lots of other arms lately.
It’s always nice when your starter can get deep into the game after a bullpen day and that will likely be Mike Fiers on Tuesday.

Fiers has a sub-1.20 WHIP but his ERA isn’t even at league-average. A lot of that has to do with the 14 home runs he’s allowed. As always, if he keeps it in the yard or can at least keep it in the yard when men are on base, he’s tough.
Tampa Bay Rays
Well, the Rays hits four homers Sunday in a 6–1 win over Boston, taking three of four at Fenway Park.
They were all solo shots after Tampa initially stakes Blake Snell to a 2–0 lead without a long ball in the first. Guillermo Heredia hit the first, Brandon Lowe the second, Yandy Diaz the third, and Lowe again to top it off.

Heredia’s homer has his OPS up right at league-average. He defected from Cuba in just 2015 and came over in the Mike Zunino trade prior to this season.
Both Austin Meadows and Kevin Kiermaier got the afternoon off on Sunday, which will have them fresh for Monday the the short turnaround. Heredia’s quality play, both on defense and at the bat, has allowed Kevin Cash that sort of flexibility, even with guys on and off the IL.
