Despite a huge injured list the Yankees have continued to play well. I think they have 8 former All-Stars on the DL but that has not stopped them from being a Top Ten team offensively or on the mound. Half of Gary Sanchez’ hits have gone for extra bases as they try an maintain a powerful offense without their biggest bats. Luke Voit is doing his best to fill the gap too.

Masahiro Tanaka has looked about the same as last year when he won 12 games. At times he can dazzle but he is usually more effective than anything, pitching to the scoreboard. He has been much better at Yankeer Stadium though. The Yankees are still lacking some bullpen depth as they await the return to health of Dellin Betances.
Tampa Bay Rays
When the Rays are going well it is always questioned how long the good times can really last. They are in first place as this is being written but the Yankees are hot on their heels. The top ERA helps but Tyler Glasnow has might have an injury and the lineup is just OK. Austin Meadows is back and maybe that gives them a little bit of a spark.
