New York Yankees
The Yankees took three out of four from the Angels, swept the Giants in three straight, and now finish up their nine-game West Coast road trip with two in Arizona.
It’s been a fantastic start to the season for New York, which could be way down toward the bottom of the standings, given all the injuries but instead isn’t far behind Tampa Bay, which has the best record in baseball.

The Injury List is still as long as it’s ever been but there are some guy on their way back, namely Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Hicks, who should be back within the next week or so. You may also be able to add Miguel Andujar to that list.
Gary Sanchez hit his first home run on Sunday since returning against the Angels earlier in the week. Domingo German went six innings for his fifth win of the year.
Arizona Diamondbacks
It was 3–3 for fourteen innings on Sunday in Arizona before the Cubs scored three in the top half of the fifteenth, only for the Diamondbacks to score two and push the game over.
The Snakes used seven relievers, including Matt Andriese for two innings after going three innings just a day before. The Monday day off will be a necessary one and, even so, there’s some pressure on Merrill Kelly go to deep into this game.

This is his first season as the big league level and Kelly has thrown well, averaging a tad under six full innings per start with an ERA+ of 117. He went seven strong for his second win of the season the last time out in Pittsburgh.
