Minnesota Twins
The Twins cashed our runline in Game 2 of Tuesday’s doubleheader, 6–0.
Josh Winder struck out only one batter but he allowed just four hits over six innings and walked only one to earn the victory.
Jorge Polanco backed the starter with a two-run homer. Luis Arraez collected an RBI triple. Six Twins had multiple hits and Carlos Correa walked three times.
Dylan Bundy has not been particularly good this season but he’s strung together two solid starts in a row.
He beat Arizona back on June 18 with eight innings of one-run ball in by far his best start of the season and of his Twins career.
He followed it up with a hard luck loss against Colorado in a game the Twins lost 1-0. Bundy gave up four hits and a run in six frames, walking and striking out two batters apiece.
This is the first time in his career Bundy will face Cleveland as a division rival.
Cleveland Guardians
So it turns out Cleveland’s offense struggled again and that, in fact, the Guardians were fortunate to earn a split on Tuesday.
Two runs in the eighth inning of Game 1 made the Guardians winners, 3-2.
Zach Plesac tossed six shutout innings and didn’t factor into the decision.
Amed Rosario delivered the big hit to put the Guards on top for good.
But even up until Rosario’s two-run single, Cleveland had just one run against starter Devin Smeltzer and Griffin Jax.
Jose Ramirez went just 1-for-4 in both games. Without anybody else particularly hot, the Guardians are struggling to score runs.
Look for Terry Francona to shake things up and try to make things happen on the base paths when he can.
Of course, that requires guys reaching base.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:

- Over is 9-3 in Guardians last 12 home games vs. a team with a winning record.
- Head to Head: Twins are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Cleveland.
- Head to Head: Under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Cleveland.
Minnesota Twins vs. Cleveland Guardians MLB Prediction:
Again, I give the edge to Minnesota, given Cleveland’s offensive struggles that may not just go away in the blink of an eye.
Cal Quantrill has the statistical edge over Bundy but Minnesota’s starter has the recent form and the veteran should be able to make it three quality starts in a row against a sputtering offense.
It stays close early before Minnesota opens it up later in another runline victory.
