Milwaukee needed extra work out of Freddy Peralta and Alex Claudio in Friday’s loss after Jhoulys Chacin couldn’t make it out of the third inning.
Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates KO’ed Chacin in a six-run third inning that saw big hits from Colin Moran and shortstop and leadoff hitter Kevin Newman.
The former first round pick in 2015 out of the University of Arizona is hitting over .340 with an on-base percentage up over .400 in eighty-five at-bats this season. Newman really struggled in just under 100 plate appearances a season ago.

Meanwhile, Chris Archer came up with seven innings on Friday and made it easy on Pittsburgh’s bullpen. Nick Kingham will go on Saturday with Jordan Lyles likely starting this game, though no announcement has been made.
