Milwaukee is in good form though you have to wonder if at some point their starting pitching weakness drags them down or forces them to make a move. I know with openers and such that part of the game is changing but still they are 29th in the Majors in quality starts. Is that sustainable? Is it after a playoff run the season before.

Jhoulys Chacin has struggled to find the form he has last year. Essentially all of his numbers are up so it is not surprising that his wins are down, except for the fact that the team is winning. He has been a disaster on the road going 1-7 with an ERA of almost 7. He has faced the Reds twice this season and the Brewers won both game but he was not exactly great.
Cincinnati Reds
You have to be worried about the Reds. They are having limited success on the back of a bullpen that has to be close to its breaking point. They need the lineup to start being better but wanting it to be so has not worked so far. Scooter Gennett is back but so far he is giving them nothing and Joey Votta continues to struggle – understatement.

At this point I am moving away from Sonny Gray. His early success in Oakland seems like a long time ago now and I am not sure how he gets back there. The move to the NL should have helped more than it has so far. He strikes out more than a batter per inning, doesn’t walk a ton or give up a ton of hits or homers but yet it does not work out great. He just might not be able to bear down when it really matters most.
