The Brewers will be in Baltimore to take on the Orioles on Wednesday, April 13th.
Corbin Burnes is going up against John Means in this one.
Milwaukee is laying a considerable price here and the total is currently sitting at 8 runs.
Milwaukee Brewers
After having a solid season last year, a lot of people expect the Brewers to once again have similar results.
The NL Central is not an easy one to win, but it should not shock anyone they were the favorite to win it.
When you go roster for the roster, I do feel they are the most talented team in that division and I expect them to compete with the Cardinals all season long to see who finishes first.
It is certainly not time to overreact yet, but there is no denying they have not exactly played great to start things off.
They dropped two games out of three to a Cubs team that is not very good and then lost the first game against Baltimore. Ultimately, the first couple series of the year will not mean a whole lot for them, but they just have not seemed to have any real rhythm out there on the field.
Milwaukee did get back into the win column on Tuesday with a win over the O’s by a score of 5-4 after they dropped game 1 by a score of 2-0.
Eric Lauer went 4.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs in their last victory. He may not be a big name like Peralta, Burnes, or Woodruff, but he is a very important arm in this rotation.
Corbin Burnes will be getting his second start of the season when he faces the Orioles on Wednesday. He last pitched on opening day against the Cubs where he was decent, but certainly not the guy we saw last year.
Baltimore Orioles
Another year and it seems like it is inevitable that the Orioles are going to be a disaster. We shall see, though.
2021 was a season full of losses and I really do not have too many reasons to believe why this campaign will be any different.
They play in a division in which there are four legit good teams, all of which are much better than they are. I have a feeling the O’s are going to be the get-right team when they face off with Boston, Tampa, Toronto, and New York, as is often the case.
Sometimes it can be tricky to pinpoint why a team has not had success, but for them, it is fairly simple. Right now, they just do not have enough good pitching to compete with a majority of the league.
When a team does not have a great rotation and has a bad bullpen, that is never a good formula. Typically, that spells a lot of losing.
In their first two games, they have been competitive with the Brewers, which is a bit surprising to see. That certainly was not the case when they faced off with the Rays to start off the season.
Spenser Watkins went 3 innings and allowed 1 earned run against the Brew Crew. The bullpen, although not as bad as we have seen in the past, was not able to get the job done in that one.
John Means will look slow down this Milwaukee offense on Wednesday and help his team win this series. It certainly will be no easy task when Corbin Burnes is on the other side.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:
- The Brewers are 3-10 SU in their last 13 games.
- The Brewers are 6-1 SU in their last 7 games against Baltimore.
- The Brewers are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games against Baltimore.
- The total has gone under in 4 of Baltimore’s last 5 games.
- The Orioles are 1-7 SU in their last 8 games.
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Baltimore Orioles MLB Prediction:
Means is the best arm the Orioles have, but he still is not on the same level as Burnes.
I do not see Baltimore having all that much success on offense in this one just based on who they are facing.
Milwaukee may not totally crush means here, but I do feel they can do enough against him and get into their pen to win by 2 or more runs.
I will lay the run line with the Brewers here.
