Dave Roberts brings his 100-62 Dodgers against Pat Murphy’s 103-59 Brewers. Both managers have talented rosters and legitimate championship expectations.
Milwaukee earned home-field advantage, but Los Angeles brings the experience of a club chasing another title.
The Dodgers eliminated Atlanta in four NLDS games. Tyler Glasnow delivered a strong series-clinching performance, while Max Muncy contributed important offense. Roberts has his club playing meaningful baseball at exactly the right time.
Milwaukee also advanced in four games, eliminating San Diego. Jackson Chourio and Garrett Mitchell provided timely contributions during the series.

Tarik Skubal starts Game 1 for Los Angeles after arriving from Detroit at the trade deadline. The left-hander finished 12-7 with a 2.72 ERA, 186 strikeouts and a 0.96 WHIP. His command and ability to change speeds make comfortable at-bats difficult to find.
Skubal allowed one run over six innings against Atlanta in his NLDS start. He struck out seven while surrendering only two hits.
Milwaukee has its own ace ready.
Jacob Misiorowski starts for the Brewers after finishing 16-5 with a remarkable 1.80 ERA. The right-hander recorded 252 strikeouts and a 0.80 WHIP. Those are numbers that look suspiciously like somebody forgot to adjust the difficulty setting.
Misiorowski allowed two runs over four innings against San Diego in his postseason opener. He recorded six strikeouts before Milwaukee turned to its relievers.
The contrasting styles make this matchup fascinating.

Here is my Dodgers Brewers free pick: I’m taking LA ML -106. Getting a championship-tested club at nearly even money works for me. I don’t need a blowout, just one more run than Milwaukee. My biggest betting angle is Los Angeles’ ability to adjust offensively. Roberts can manufacture a run or let his power hitters swing away when the situation demands it.
Milwaukee becomes dangerous when it controls the late innings. The Dodgers need disciplined at-bats to prevent Murphy from comfortably lining up his relievers.
I’m backing Los Angeles to manufacture the decisive run without needing an offensive explosion.
The moneyline also eliminates unnecessary headaches. A 2-1 victory pays exactly like a 7-2 win. No bonus points for making the ticket more complicated. Patience matters in a tight game. One reckless baserunning decision can waste an entire inning, and October isn’t particularly forgiving.
The danger is Milwaukee grabbing an early lead. But Los Angeles has enough postseason experience to stay composed when runs are scarce. I’ve seen plenty of favorites panic their way out of games; I don’t expect Roberts to join that club.
