NL West baseball sees the Giants Hosting the Dodgers on Wednesday afternoon.
Julio Urias and Alex Cobb are the expected hurlers in this game.
LA is a decent-sized favorite on the road in this spot. The total opened at 7.5 and has stayed right around there.
LA Dodgers
The Dodgers have been able to take the first two games of the series after they beat their rival by a score of 9-5 in the second game of the series.
These guys have looked quite good in the first couple with the Giants and they are once again asserting their dominance over San Francisco.
With their last victory, LA was able to pick up win number 70 on the year and they do not appear to be slowing down anytime soon. It is hard to argue with that number of victories in just over 100 games.
The offense was once again rolling and they were able to do a lot of damage against the starter and bullpen for San Francisco who did not have a ton of answers for the Dodgers.
Mookie Betts, Gavin Lux, and Cody Bellinger were able to get multiple RBI in the win. In total, the team had 13 hits and a lot of different hitters chipped in.
Tyler Anderson picked up another win and improved his record to 12-1 on the season. Given some of the other guys on this staff, I am not sure a lot of people had him having the kind of success he has had so far.
The lefty did have a shaky fifth inning where he allowed five earned runs but the bullpen did a good job holding the lead for the remainder of the game as they went four innings while allowing just one hit and no earned runs.
Julio Urias will get the ball in game 3 and he is coming off a good outing against the Rockies. When this guy is on his game, there is no question he is one of the best arms in the NL.
San Francisco Giants
The Giants have not looked all that good in this series and there are not exactly a lot of reasons to believe they will figure it out in the remaining two games.
So far, they have not had a lot of answers for what the Dodgers have been able to do. Sure, they did rally in the second game, but it was still understood which team was going to get the job done in the end.
With the loss on Tuesday, San Francisco has now lost six in a row to Los Angeles. I am sure they did not envision that happening, but it just highlights the differences between these two clubs at the present time.
The pitching department has not been the most consistent for this group in 2022 and that has been put on display in these two games.
Alex Wood went 5.1 innings while allowing nine hits and 6 earned runs in the last loss. He did record six strikeouts, but it was not as if he was missing bats all night long.
The bullpen also did not perform all that well as they allowed an additional three runs. After the starter does not have his best stuff, it just makes it worse when the relievers come in and are not effective.
When the Giants scored their runs in the fifth inning, it was just a one-run ball game and they still had a good chance to pull it off, but the Dodgers proved to be too much once again.
Next up in the rotation is Alex Cobb and he has seen mixed results to this point. He has delivered some strong outings at times, but there is no doubt that more was expected of the right-hander this season.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:
- The Dodgers are 9-1 in their last 10 road games.
- The Dodgers are 21-6 in their last 27 road games vs. a right-handed starter.
- The Giants are 7-21 in their last 28 games vs. a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15.
- The Giants are 0-7 in their last 7 games when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in their previous game.
LA Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants MLB Prediction:
The Giants are a very hard team to have faith in right about now and I do not see them all of a sudden flipping the script here.
Look, it is clear the Dodgers are the much better team and they have shown that on numerous occasions already this season. I look for them to once again demonstrate that on Wednesday evening.
Urias has seen a few bumps in the road this season but has mostly been sharp and this is a team he has had success against before. As far as Cobb goes, I am not sold on him containing this lineup and the same goes for their pen.
With the price still being pretty reasonable, I like the Dodgers on the Moneyline here.
