Kansas City Royals
The Royals dropped the first two games of this series on Friday and Saturday. I am not sure the environment was a factor but the Jays should have a good turnout on Canada Day for this one. Kansas city has a young team and even though they put Alex Gordon in the middle of their lineup he can only do so much these days. This one looks like another struggle.

Glenn Sparkman is not very good and he is especially not good outside of Kansas City. He has an ERA over 7 on the road and in his last three road starts he has given up 4, 5, and 5 runs and never pitched more than five innings. The Jays are no powerhourse but this is a favourable matchup.
Toronto Blue Jays
It seems like for once the Jays are going to take advantage of the schedule. There has been a lot to like over the past week including taking a series from the Red Sox, playing the Yankees tough and now winning against K.C. They got a couple of homers from their young guns yesterday with Cavan Biggio and Vlad Guerrero going deep. Lourdes Gurriel got another hit and has been on fire in June.

Clayton Richard had his best start with the Blue Jays in his last outing. Against the Yankees he only gave up three runs but they were on three homers so don’t be thinking that he has turned some sort of corner. This Kansas City lineup is probably a better matchup for him though. Ken Giles has been awesome this season. He is just not getting a lot of opportunities to collect saves.
