Kansas City Royals
Losing Sal Perez before the season even started I thought the Royals might have the worst offense in the league. Instead they have been 20th – respectable – thanks to the likes of Hunter Dozier and even Alex Gordon is showing some life. Adalberto Mondesi is leading the team with 27 RBI. He is building off a solid year from last year and that bodes well for the future of the team.

The pitching has not fared well and it is in part because they have been relying on guys like Homer Bailey. He has his moments but I am not sure you can predict them and the bullpen is not great in support. Detroit has a light lineup so there could be something there. He has not faced them this season and his career before KC was in the NL.
Detroit Tigers
Detroit is just a little above KC in the AL Central standings. He is not showing any power but Miguel Cabrera is leading the Tigers in average so maybe it will come. This lineup is really light and Christian Stewart, the team leaders in RBIs is out til the middle of the month. Offense has been a real struggle.

The pitching has been half decent though even with a bunch of names that not many are familiar with. They are 10th in quality starts and 13th in team ERA. They are second to last in strikeout though. There are just those kinds of arms on the staff so projecting them is a challenge.
