The Royals will be in Colorado to take on the Rockies on Sunday, May 15th.
Daniel Lynch and Austin Gomber are the slated pitchers in this one.
The total in this game opened at 10.5 and is now up to 11.
Kansas City Royals
The Royals would have wished for a lot better of a start to the season they have gotten. It is pretty hard to find all that much positivity in one what they have done so far.
Until proven otherwise, this kind of play is what you expect out of this team. Even the fans that were very optimistic about them heading into the season had to know they were likely not going to be very relevant.
What you are seeing when they take the field is a team that is just not very talented. They have some nice players here and there but is certainly not enough to win at a high clip or be a true threat in the AL.
One issue that has been glaring for Kansas City for some time now is their pitching. They need improvements in both the rotation and bullpen and until they do, it is going to be more of the same for them.
In terms of their offense, it is decent but is nothing all that great. They are not the kind of lineup that would really strike fear into an opposing pitching staff.
KC won a shootout in the first game on Friday and will look to get another win in game 2. As I write, they are trailing the Rockies 2-0 in the 1st inning.
Even though they took care of business in game 1, that common theme of their pitching being weak was apparent. I get that the Rockies have a good offense, but you really should not be allowing them to score that many runs.
Daniel Lynch will get the ball in the finale and he has seen mixed results so far. He is currently 2-2 with an ERA of 4.01.
Colorado Rockies
For the most part, the Rockies have been an impressive team. It is good to see they are not totally out of it already by this point in the season.
It really has been some time since this team was good for a consistent amount of time. In recent seasons, it just seems like they are a middling t below middling team and do not seem to accomplish all that much.
In terms of pure talent, they still have a long ways to go before they wish to be in the category of the top dogs. What they have is a good base but is certainly not a complete one.
In the early going, they have at least shown the ability to hang pretty toughly in their division. With over 30 games played now, there is not one team in the NL West that is totally running away with it, which is something they should be able to build off of.
As the season goes on, you would expect a team like the Dodgers to really get in their groove and potentially take charge in their division. Colorado will hope that does not happen which is why those head-to-head games are so important within the division.
I am not saying the start they have gotten off to is fake but I am not sure how it will hold up as we get deeper. The pitching is a true issue for them and it is hard to hide that for the whole year.
This series with the Royals is a good chance for these guys to play well. They did not give a good showing in the opener but they hope that is different in the remaining contests.
Austin Gomber will be getting the start on Sunday and this is a game where he should be able to be effective. He has been ok this season but consistency has been an issue.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:

- The Royals are 6-14 in their last 20 games overall.
- The Rockies are 5-2 in their last 7 home games.
- The Rockies are 36-17 in their last 53 games as a favorite.
Kansas City Royals vs. Colorado Rockies MLB Prediction:
This pitching matchup features two guys that have been hit or miss. I am interested to see how they perform in this one.
Gomber may not be great here but I do trust him more than Lynch here. If he is on his game, he should be able to be relatively effective against that KC offense.
Colorado knows they cannot drop this one and I would expect them to attack early and not let back. The juice is a little higher than I normally like but I also do not trust laying the runs with them, either.
My play is the Rockies ML
