Houston won on Wednesday, pushing the series to a fifth game.
Game four was a close one. Houston drew first blood with a homer in the first then held on.
As this is being written neither team has released a starting pitcher for the contest. We will have to see how well we can predict their strategy.
Houston Astros
I am not sure the Astros can come all the way back to threaten the series but I would have been surprised if they had gotten swept in the ALCS.
Zach Greinke pitched well yesterday, holding the Rays to just a couple of runs over 6 innings. The bullpen gave up just one run over three to get the win. They didn’t dominate but got the win.
The pitching for this one is speculative at this point. We know that Framber Valdez and Lance McCullers Jr. have been ruled out. The options are not great but most likely we get Luis Garcia or Chase de Jong.
If Houston is going to win again and push the series to another game it would be a good time for the bats to really break out.
Tampa Bay Rays
Tampa might have lost the game on Wednesday night, but this team never quits. They scored a run in the ninth to keep the pressure on the Astros til the final pitch.
Randy Arozarena continues to be the breakout star of these playoffs with another homer. He struck out in his other three plate appearances but he is still hitting .442 in the playoffs.
Tampa has not announced a starting pitcher for the game yet either. There is a little buzz about bringing back Snell on short rest but that seems unlikely given they are up 3-1 in the series. Josh Fleming is possible. He is a traditional starter but has not pitched since the last game of the regular season.
Tampa did not use any of their light out trio of relievers in game four. Nick Anderson, Pete Fairbanks, and Diego Castillo could all be available for more than an inning tonight.
Tampa is thisclose to making the World Series. Let’s see if they can find a way to patch it together.

Free Houston Astros vs. Tampa Bay Rays MLB Prediction: Tampa ML
Until some public information comes out the lines are likely to stay silent for this one. I still like Tampa though.
Flemins is a good option who had success during the season, 5-0 record. The fact he is a little cold is less than ideal ut they just haven’t needed him.
Houston could win it with their bats but we have been saying that all series long and it hasn’t come to fruition.
