Houston Astros
Houston is kind of down right now. They have lost four in a row heading into Thursday action and you have to wonder if the injuries just might have finally caught up to them Being in New York could provide some energy but they are also taking on a really good team. They had back to back to back 1 run losses when they were swept at Cincinnati. That is not in keeping with what we expect from these guys.

Brad Peacock has been mostly starting this season. He has not been as dominant as in the past but more than good enough to win with the Astros lineup. His splits show that he is not as effective on the road. No real surprise there. He already has more innings than last year when he was mostly used in relief. Something to keep an eye on.
New York Yankees
Stanton is back but the Yankees are still waiting on Judge. The latter is probably the more impactful player as he actually plays the field and the ceiling is a little higher. It has been amazing the way the Yankees have survived without the two sluggers. Gary Sanchez has 21 homers in just 54 games. That is a 60 homer pace.

James Paxton missed most of May. Since he has been back the Big Maple has been up and down. He has not pitched more than 6 innings in a start and was really roughed up at home by the Mets. They need him to be better even though an improved offense could easily cover up some bad outings. He needs to watch his homers allowed a bit.
