Tampa bay Rays

Weirdly this is already the second series between these two AL East teams. The Rays are not god but it hardly seems fair that they have to start the season with Red Sox, Yankees and then Red Sox.

Jake Faria was good last year. At this point he seems the heir apparent to Chris Archer at the top of the Rays rotation. His first start of the year was solid too but he didn’t go deep. They need more from him.

Boston Red Sox

Boston has taken full advantage of it schedule. They have been playing the Florida teams exclusively and both are bad. They have the best team ERA in the early going though the bats have been pretty quiet.

Rick Porcello might have a Cy Young to his credit but he is nowhere near the likes of Price and Sale. He was good in his 2018 debut though, a positive sign after struggling a year ago.
