Detroit Tigers
Baltimore took the first game of the series on Monday and losing to the worst team in the league is never a good look for any team. Detroit is the second worst scoring team in the league and they were below their average in scoring just three runs. Youngsters Niko Goodrum and Christian Stewart are hitting at the top of their lineup and they are barely batting over .200 while veterans like Miguel Cabrera and Nick Castellanos are not providing much pop.

I wish I could really explain Matt Boyd, who is having a career year. In none of his previous seasons with Detroit had he struck out many batters but this season he has averaging well over a strikeout per inning with 80Ks in 66 innings. His splits are good at home and on the road too and he should be able to tame the Baltimore lineup with relative ease.
Baltimore Orioles
Baltimore started the season 4-1. Since then they have won back to back games only twice. They won yesterday which in terms of playing the percentages means they are likely to lose tomorrow. You can also feel comfortable in knowing that they are also just a bad team. They are scoring more of late though, four or more runs in 8 straight games.

Dyland Bundy has gotten better as the weather has heated up. He has a couple of wins in May and better supporting numbers too. I am not saying we should get excited but perhaps Baltimore has another playable starter, two out of five would be better. The bullpen is still messy Mychael Givens kind of got the closer role by default and he has barely closer 50% of the opportunities.
