Detroit Tigers
Early in the season some surprisingly good pitching was helping the Tigers stay competitive. Not so much anymore as they have four starting pitchers on the DL. They also have the second worst offense in the Majors and have hit the second fewest homers, putting lots of pressure on limited hitters to string together hits. It has been a losing strategy to say the least.

It has not been announced yet but it looks like Daniel Norris will get the ball for this one. The one time Blue Jays prospect has yet to figure it out at the Major League level, but you can question whether that is really where Baltimore is right now. Detroit is 2-5 in his starts but someone is gong to win this one.
Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles snapped a long losing streak with a win at Colorado on Saturday but it is just more of the same for Baltimore. Their pitching is terrible and the hitting nowhere near good enough to make up for it. Keon Broxton kind of washed out in the NL so of course the Orioles signed him. There are some early signs of life there but how long can that last.

Gabriel Ynoa has pitched in 9 games this season, all in relief. He made a few starts for Baltimore last year but basically has not shown much over his limited time in the Majors. He does not walk too many guys but his stuff is just too hittable. Baltimore has one of the worst bullpens in the Majors too so relying on them to shut the door is a risk.
