Chicago is a heavy home favorite here with the total sitting at 7.5.
Cleveland Guardians
The Guardians have played better than what a lot of people thought this season. I am not saying they have been great but they are at least relevant at the moment.
The expectations given to them heading into the season were not very high and that made some sense. With a few exceptions, this team is not very talented and it will be hard for them to compete at a high level at a consistent clip.
Shane Bieber is one of the best pitchers in baseball and Jose Ramirez is one of the best third basemen in baseball. With the exception of those two people, there is really nobody else on this roster they need to keep in order to build around them.
I am curious to see how the tribe does as the year goes on. Will they continue to hover around the .500 mark or will dip below or rise above it? I think they can be a solid group but it will likely not amount to a whole lot this season.
Cleveland has a record of 15-14 and they are 2nd in the AL Central behind the Twins. I would not say this division is easy but it is not a buzzsaw like some other ones. I am not saying it will happen but it would not be totally crazy to feel the Guardians could at least be in the mix for the Central when all is said and done.
A big question mark on this team is their pitching and it really has to get addressed if they want to get to a higher level. That weakness of their game was put on display Monday even though they got the 12-9 win.
Simply put, you should not be allowing the Sox to score that many runs on you. It was good that they got the win but winning those shootout games is not sustainable throughout the course of the season.
Cal Quantrill will get a chance to keep his team headed in the right direction on Tuesday night. So far, he is 1-1 with an ERA of 3.54.
Chicago White Sox
The White Sox definitely have not been of the more impressive teams in baseball. They have not lived up to the hype surrounding them before the year started.
A lot of people were very high on this team and some thought they could represent the AL in the World Series. That would certainly be a stretch but there were legit reasons to believe that they could be a true threat in their division and league.
Listen, I am not sitting here saying they have played like the worst team in baseball and they have no direction or path. One thing is for certain, though: they have better figure things out quickly or this might just be who they end up being in 2022.
Chicago does have talent on both sides of the diamond so it would not shock me if they eventually put it together and started playing as they should be. Regardless, time is ticking by the game and I can understand folks who might not have a ton of confidence in them right about now.
The Sox swept a very bad Red Sox team over the weekend and did just what they had to do. It was nothing fancy but they got the job done.
As it was shown on Monday, this series with Cleveland is not going to be an easy one for them. Their opponent might not be as talented as they are but that does not mean they are going to play them easily.
Michael Kopech started game 1 and looked really good but none of that mattered in the end. A combination of bad defense and lack of bullpen execution led to them ruining his start and the team not winning the ball game.
The Southsiders will turn to their ace in Lucas Giolito on Tuesday and hope that he can deliver a strong start that leads his club to victory. He has been good this season and will have to be again here.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:

- The White Sox are 6-1 in their last 7 games on grass.
Cleveland Guardians vs. Chicago White Sox MLB Prediction:
After the White Sox blew a chance to win the series opener, they have a chance to get on backtrack here as a big fave.
Giolito should be able to navigate through this lineup but that does not mean it will be easy. The same can be said for Quantrill when he tries to keep the Chicago hitters in check.
In terms of winning the game, I trust the Sox more but I do not love laying the 1.5 with them because I could see this shaping out to be a very close one.
Give me the Guardians on the run line here.
