Chicago is just playing out the string. I suppose they could be motivated to not get caught by Kansas City but really that shouldn’t happen. This is a series they can bank some wins, even on the road, because Detroit is terrible. They key for the rest of the season will be to try and get super prospect Eloy Jimenez more comfortable.

Lucas Giolito did not win a start in July. There was bound to be some regression after his hot start but hopefully he has recovered. He was very sharp in his last outing against the Mets. He has been way better on the road this season because he has been better at keeping the ball in the park.
Detroit Tigers
Detroit is terrible and they traded their best bat at the deadline. In the second half Niko Goodrum has shown a little something but this team struggles to score and it is not slumping, just limited. Taking on the White Sox gives them a chance but they are not as talented.

No starter listed for Detroit but I think it might be Jordan Zimmerman. That is not a great situation but really nothing is unless it is Matt Boyd or Spenceer Turnbull this season. Zimmerman got his first win of the season in his last start and the team is 4-10 in his starts this season.
