The day after Bobby Cox suffered a stroke and went to the hospital, the Atlanta Braves responded with their first comeback win of 2019 with four runs in the eighth inning to beat the Cubs, 6–4.

Chicago left 21 runners on base in Wednesday’s loss, which dropped it to 1–4 through the first week of the season. The Cubs had Julio Teheran on the ropes early but let him off the hook. He ended up going five innings and giving up just one run.
This will be Jose Quintana’s first start of the season after emergency relief duty in the first season in Texas after Yu Darvish got knocked around. He threw 81 pitches to get through four innings, striking out eight.
