Boston Red Sox
This is the second of the two game series between these rivals. The Red Sox have been playing better lately and with the Rays struggling they have close a lot of the gap on Tampa. Love the depth of the lineup but surprised they are not hitting more homers given that everyone else in the league is. Still waiting for Mookie Betts to play like an MVP candidate.

Eduardo Rodriguez leads the team with eight wins which puts him on pace to easily pass last year’s total of 13. Thought he has gotten better with his walks, a little, his ERA and homer rates are way up this season so it is hard to say he has taken a step forward. He has not faced New York this season.
New York Yankees
The Yankees suffered a blow with Giancarlo getting hurt again and likely not seeing the field til August. Given how much they have won without him it is not going to be crushing but there has to be some emotional fallout. Aaron Judge is back though and he has looked mostly good so far. He had a couple of multi-hit games against Toronto.

I think this will be the spot belonging to veteran lefty J.A. Happ, not sure why it has not been published given the interest in the game. Happ has been a disappointment for the Yankees except for the part of being healthy and taking the ball regularly. Their bullpen seems to always lineup if they can get a lead for them.
