Drew Pomeranz was slotted in the back of the rotation to start the season but has been hurt for most of it. This is his first start since the end of May and his numbers when healthy were not good. Given their place in the standings they can give him some rope to get back to the form that won 17 games a year ago.
Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles continue to struggle coming out of the break. There is no more Manny Machado to anchor the lineup and having seen them in person recently this team might be even more hapless than they look on paper. Huge mismatch against Boston for sure.
