The Orioles will be in Toronto to start a series with the Blue Jays on Monday, June 13th.
As expected, Toronto is a massive favorite at home in this one.
The total began at 8.5 and it has stayed at that number for now.
Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles have not been a great team this season, but there is no question they have been better than they have been in past seasons and that is something they can look to build off of.
For quite some time now, this team has been a perpetual bottom feeder and it has been routine for them to lose 100+ games in a season.
Baltimore knew this season would not be judged on a title or even the playoffs, but they had to show they could at least be more competitive on a more consistent basis.
When a team is in a clear rebuild mode and they cannot seem to get out of their own way, they will take anything they can get that resembles any sort of progress.
Don’t get me wrong, this is still a flawed team that has a lot of areas to improve in, but it at least seems like there is some direction with them, which has not been the case for some time.
Something that is better for them in the 2022 season is the bullpen, which had been a major issue of theirs for some time now. They still have to get stronger in terms of their starting pitching, but having reliable relievers is always a good thing.
The pitching was not exactly great for them in their last series, as they split with the Royals. I felt like they allowed too many runs to a team that is not very good. That is certainly not a great sign when they are about to start a series with one of the best offenses in the sport.
Kyle Bradish will be getting the nod in this one and let’s just say that the big leagues have not treated him all that kindly. He is 1-3 with an ERA north of 6 and he will have the tall task of shutting down the Jays on Monday.
Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays keep on playing a good brand of baseball and they are definitely one of the more dangerous teams in the league.
It was well-documented the slow start that they got off to, but they have really seemed to figure things out and play how they should be.
Even though they have been a lot better and appear to be in the right direction, I still feel they would tell people they are not where they want to be quite yet.
I think there is another level that this team has not even hit yet and when they do, other teams around the sport should really look out.
In the period of time when Toronto really started to play more consistent ball, it started with their potent offense, but they have also been able to get stronger pitching, which was not the case earlier on.
In terms of their rotation, I still feel the two guys that are truly reliable are Gausman and Manoah. Kikuchi, Ryu, Berrios, etc., have all been too hit or miss and that could end up costing their team when it really matters.
As they start this series with the Orioles, it is a very good opportunity for them to get right and take care of business against a team they are better than, as they did against both the Royals and Tigers.
The aforementioned Alek Manoah will be getting the start on Monday evening and boy oh boy, has this kid been special. It is no longer a case of him being a cool story. It is to the point now where it is expected he will deliver a strong outing based on how sharp he has been.

- The Orioles are 14-42 in their last 56 road games vs. a righty.
- The Blue Jays are 11-3 in their last 14 games with the total set at 7.0-8.5.
- The Blue Jays are 13-4 in their last 17 games.
Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays MLB Prediction:
Toronto knows what they have to do in this series and I look for them to start off in the right direction.
The Jays are clearly the better team here and they have a huge advantage in the starting pitching matchup. I simply do not have a ton of confidence in the O’s at all here.
Bradish is going to have his hands full with this lineup and it could get ugly when everything is settled.
Although there is more juice than I typically like, give me the Jays laying the runs.
