Baltimore Orioles
I’m writing this early on Saturday, before Baltimore takes its swings at the Yankees’ newest co-ace, James Paxton. It will probably be a tough day at the plate for the Orioles.
Dylan Bundy was lights out in his first five starts in 2018. He gave up just five runs in nearly 32 innings, though he still went just 1–2.

The wheels fell off after that, though. He gave up seven earned runs the next time out and by May 8 his ERA was in the mid-5s. That number got under control and then inflated again, finishing near a peak at 5.45.
It would appear that he overthrew to start the season. Hopefully he learns from that lesson in 2019.
New York Yankees
The Yankees’ lineup looks pretty darn stacked; yet, it’s not at full strength. Both Aaron Hicks and Didi Gregorious are out, Hicks until the end of April and Gregorious until at least the All-Star Break following Tommy John.
Those guys will replace Brett Gardner and Troy Tulowitzki in the everyday lineup, assuming everybody else stays healthy. In the meantime, so long as the others are healthy, New York will do more than just survive.

When the Yankees traded for JA Happ in the middle of last season, they got more than just a guy who went 7–0 for them down the stretch; they got a guy who was under contract for one more season. Happ returns in the middle of the rotation, though he’ll be close to the back once Luis Severino returns.
