Between the both of these teams they still have less wins than the top contenders in the American League. This series could go a long way towards determining who is the absolute worst in the league. My money is on the Orioles….but they closed the gap by sweeping Toronto.

Andrew Cashner was an arm that was not dealt at the deadline and thus he is considered the best the O’s have in terms of starting pitching, I suppose. He leads the team in ERA and is the only starter under 5. The Orioles have awful pitching but still a month to play for it to get worse.
Kansas City Royals
Even though the Royals have a terrible record they also have been winning lately, four of their last five, as this is being written, including a couple of wins against first place Cleveland. The offense has been much better even though they are still second last in scoring in the Majors.

Brad Keller has been a nice surprise since joining the rotation. His stuff is far from electric but he has definitely proven he can be a part of next year’s plans during his rookie season. Walks can be his downfall and every Royals starter wonders if even a shutout will be enough to win.
