The Orioles and Royals will be finishing off their series on Sunday afternoon.
Dean Kremer and Brad Keller are the slotted starters in this ball game.
Baltimore is a small favorite at home with the total sitting at 9.5.
Baltimore Orioles
As I look at the body of work for the Orioles so far, it certainly has not been a very impressive one. I am seeing more of the same from this team.
It is fair to say there has been improvement in their team but they still have a long way to go before they get to where they want to get to.
The one area in which I do feel they are better is the bullpen. It might not be great but there is no question they have made strides in that department.
The biggest area of concern for them at the moment is still their starting pitching. That part of their game is a weakness for them and it has really cost them on many occasions this season.
If the O’s do not fix this, then I have a hard time seeing them win games on a consistent level in the future. It is not easy to win a lot of games when a team does not have at least decent starters.
Going into this series, Baltimore was hoping to do some damage against the Royals but the opposite has happened in the first three games.
After dropping the first two, the Birds did get the win on Saturday and will once again have to do that on Sunday in order to get the split.
Dean Kremer will be getting the start in the finale and he just has not had a ton of success at the Major League level over his career. In limited outings this season, he is 0-1 with an ERA of 6.23.
Kansas City Royals
The Royals have played horribly this season and they truly look like one of the worst teams in the sport.
When you break down this team, it is hard to find all that many positive things about and that is because they do not do anything all that well.
Kansas City is a team that needs to improve in every area imaginable. What they have now is not even good enough to just be competitive.
On this ball club, the lack of depth for them is evident. They do have a few good players scattered around but they need more of them to be what they once were.
Even with them playing in a division that is not very strong, they still manage to be in the basement of the Central by a wide margin.
Coming into play, they hold a record of 20-38 and trail the Twins by 13.5 games. Even the rebuilding A’s have more wins than these guys. If you are the Royals, this level of play is a total embarrassment.
In the 6-4 loss on Saturday, Daniel Lynch went 5.1 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. After he left, the bullpen allowed some more runs, which is nothing new for them.
Kansas City will be turning to Brad Keller and boy, he has not been impressive at all this season. He is currently 1-7 with an ERA of 4.19.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:
- The Orioles are 62-129 in their last 191 games.
- The Orioles are 17-38 in their last 55 games following a win.
- The Royals are 4-1 in their last 5 games as a favorite.
- The Royals are 7-16 in their last 23 home games.
Baltimore Orioles vs. Kansas City Royals MLB Prediction:
In a spot like this, I really do not have confidence in either one of these teams. It is hard to trust any of them, really.
Despite not being very impressive at all this season, Keller is the better starter and I do feel he can at least put forth a solid outing.
As far as Kremer goes, I am not expecting a ton and I look for Kansas City to do enough against him and get into that pen.
I like the Royals on the Moneyline.
