Atlanta Braves

I thought for sure that the Braves would run out of steam…but I am so happy they have not. The combination of rookies Ronald Acuna and Ozzie Albies has been powerful, filling in and around veterans Freddie Freeman and Nick Markakis to form a winning mix.

Touki Toussaint is a great name but this is just his third Major League start and his first on the road. Though I love pitchers who have an unfamiliarity advantage there is also a real chance this is a blow up spot so we have to be careful.

Arizona Diamondbacks

They are not far behind biut as this is being written on Saturday the Diamondbacks have falled to third in the NL West. That makes this a series of playoff contenders and even more important as the Diamondbacks need to take care of business at home.

All season long the Diamondbacks have been waiting for Robbie Ray to find the form he had last year…when he was nasty more often than not. Over his last three starts we have seen more of that and perhap he needed more time to find his form after not pitching in May.
