Neither team is off to a great start to the season. I think Arizona’s outlook was pretty low thanks to the Dodgers but Texas is supposed to compete.
Texas needs more from its offense if it is going to live up to their expectations. The hitting has been awful.
Arizona Diamondbacks
Not much is going right for the Diamondbacks so far in 2020. Their offense has been anemic and the pitching nowhere good enough to accommodate.
Madison Bumgarner was the big offseason acquisition. I really didn’t understand the purchase and his first outing was nothing to write home about.
He is probably not done but they are going to need him to be better and for the offense to finally start contributing to win.
Texas Rangers
The only team scoring less than Arizona this season is Texas. They are dead last at the moment. The pitching was supposed to carry this season but the offense has to some lifting.
Other than four walks over six innings, it is hard to find fault with the first start of the season for Lance Lynn. He could get getting Arizona at the right time too.
The balance of the Rangers seems off this season. I am not sure where they are going to find the offense they need. It can’t just be Joey Gallo.
