Washington Nationals

The Rockies will have the starting pitching advantage in this game with Kyle Freeland going up against Joe Ross.

It’s not that Ross has done terribly as a big leaguer, though. He’s got a career ERA+ just over 100 in over 260 innings pitched.

His only two appearances all season have come in the last two weeks, just about. He got some extended rest in between the two and has just as much between this one and the last.

He’s thrown decently in both, giving up two runs in five innings once and three runs in six innings the other time.

Colorado Rockies

Take a look at how German Marquez went through the Phillies’ lineup in the first three innings on Wednesday. It is both amazing and hilarious; I won’t say any more than that.

The Rockies are pounding the shit out of the Phillies and they play one more on Thursday. So far, Colorado has scored thirty-four runs in three games.

The Dodgers are off and on the way to San Francisco on Thursday so Colorado’s game against Philly will determine if the Rockies enter the final series of the season up a game in the NL West or tied. Remember, LA has the tie-breaker.

But you have to feel great if you’re a Rockies fan. Colorado will be at home and LA is in San Francisco, a city that doesn’t boast a great baseball club this season but would love nothing more than to kick the Dodgers out of the postseason.
