Arizona Diamondbacks
Arizona lost the first two games of this series but as this is being written they are still a little ahead of the Rockies in the NL West standings. This team has been one of the best at scoring runs this season but has recently lost a couple of power sources in Jake Lamb and David Peralta, who won’t be back til June. After being hot early Christian Walker has cooled dramatically.

Rookie righty Taylor Clarke has made just a couple of starts in the Majors and acquitted himself reasonably well. He got his first win the last time out and has yet to pitch at home so being on the road does not appear to phase him too much. He is a tall guy but does not dominate with his stuff. Arizona’s bullpen is about the middle of the pack right now.
Colorado Rockies
Colorado is going to be missing their catalyst, Charlie Blackmon, for a little while which sucks because the offense was finally getting going. Nolan Arenado is the reigning NL Player of the Week and Trevor Story is breaking records. They should have more than enough offense, especially with prospect Brendan Rodgers contributing, the rookie is hitting .300.

Even though the team is playing better overall Kyle Freeland continues to disappoint. He gave up 7ER in his last start and in the one before that did not even complete two innings. Until they can get once through the rotation without a blow up backing the Rockies is going to be very tough. The bullpen does not strike out guys but they get the job done. Top half of the league.
