This team knows how important a conference championship to the school and this program and they will have no issue delivering.
Here are five reasons why the hype is real in 2017.
Reasons Toledo Will Win The MAC
Airing It Out
The Toledo Rockets have a star under center again this year.
Logan Woodside can air the ball out and light up the scoreboard in a hurry. Last year Woodside threw for 4129 yards and 45 touchdowns.
Those 45 scores were the most in the country. He had at least three touchdown passes in every regular season game last year.

This year should be no different for Woodside and the Rockets offense. He has all kinds of targets spread around the field that he will be able to air it out too.
The other impressive thing that should really help the Rockets this year is he is accurate. He completed over 69 percent of his passes last year and only threw nine interceptions in 419 attempts.
Motivation
There is no chance that this Toledo Rockets team doesn’t come in highly motivated not to win the MAC, but also make some noise in the National Standings.
This team had the chance to be just like Western Michigan last year, but they lost a couple of close games that they probably shouldn’t have loss and it led to them falling short of this goals.

With Western Michigan taking a step back this year, this team could step right up into their shoes, and they feel like they can.
But on the national landscape they aren’t getting as much love as they should, and I think that will be good bulletin board material for this team this year.
Big Men Up Front
One of the strongest units on this team is on the offensive line.
Last year they did a great job protecting the quarterback and opening up running holes for the running back and that should be the same case this year.
Five experienced guys are back this year, and although only two of them were starters last year, the other guys were serviceable back ups and should have no issue filling in.
They have a lot of years together to build up a good comradery and I think that they will really work together well as a unit. They might not be all stars by themselves but as a unit they will be good.
Solid Defense
When you have as good of offense as the Rockets have the defense doesn’t have to be great, they just need to be good enough to make a few stops every game and the team should be in a good shape.
That is what the Rockets have with this years defense. They aren’t going to blow anyone away with their stats, but they should do enough each game to make a few good stops and let the Rockets offense do the rest.
The defense starts up front with Marquise Moore, who is a big guy and will be a force to be reckoned with for opposing offensive lines.
Supporting Cast on offense
Woodside is great at the quarterback position, but he also has enough good guys around him to really create some buzz.
Senior’s Cody Thompson and Junior Jon’Vea Johnson are back after huge years last year. They are both guys who can really stretch the field.
At the running back position they will have to replace Kareem Hunt who was the best rusher in Toledo History, but Terry Swanson almost rushed for 1000 yards last year, and should go well over that mark this year.
MAC 2017 Football Conference Betting Prediction: 10-2
Toledo does have a tough schedule that includes Tulsa and the Miami Hurricanes but I don’t see many problems out side of those two games.

This team will finish the season with a 10-2 record and win the Conference Championship game.
