The Western Michigan had their moments last year and they are once again consistently looking solid here in 2021 and even though they are 7 point underdogs in this spot they will have some confidence that they can go into UB Stadium and pick up the big victory.
The Bulls were able to just barely manage a victory against Old Dominion in their last game winning 35-34 and off a win like that, and the fact they are at home, surely justifies the 7 point favoritism here.
Western Michigan Broncos
Kaleb Eleby has been great at the QB position so far in 2021 with 902 passing yards and 7 passing touchdowns and the Buffalo Bulls secondary has been good not great so far, so he is in a decent enough spot here to have some success.
Although the Broncos defense does not rank out incredibly well in terms of the statistics I have liked what I have seen out of them throughout the year and that defense seriously showed up in that last game against San Jose State where they only allowed 3 points.
The Broncos running game has been a bit hit or miss so far this season and that does present a bit of a problem because if they can’t run the football I find it hard to imagine them having much success through the passing game.
Buffalo Bulls
Buffalo did win that last game against Old Dominion, but they needed a whole lot of luck to get the job done with a +2 turnover differential and being out-gained by 136 yards, but hey, a win is a win.
Quian Williams was the big performer for Buffalo in that one from the wide receiver position, as he was able to pick up 134 yards and a touchdown and he is expected to be a key factor in this one as well.
Kyle Vantrease has been decent, not great, so far this year playing as more of a game manager having decent accuracy and avoiding turning the ball over and with the front 7 from the Broncos being strong not turning the ball over again will certainly be key.
