USF were super impressive in their comeback win last week against BYU and they will now look forward to a road date with the Navy Midshipmen. The USF Bulls will have plenty of confidence off that last win, but they are facing a really well coached and fundamentally sound Navy team so perhaps the -14 point spread is justified.
Navy destroyed Tulsa last week in typical Navy fashion blowing out their opponents while only throwing the ball 5 times. They held their opponents to under 70 yards rushing and did a nice job of not allowing Tulsa to get easy yards. The Midshipmen certainly will be looking to continue winning ways here as this is another team full of momentum.
USF Bulls
USF was able to complete a pretty incredible comeback last week, but they were dominated for most of that game. They were out gained by BYU in that last contest by over 100 yards and USF could not get anything at all going through the air as they only threw for 72 yards in total.
Unfortunately for BYU Jordan Cronkrite decided to have himself some kind of game as he ended with over 150 rushing yards and 2 scores. He gets a really tough matchup here against a Midshipmen team that is pretty stingy when it comes to giving up rushing yards.
He will be leaned on early and throughout by this USF offense, but it is hard to imagine him having anywhere close to that last game here against Navy.

The responsibility to go out there and win this game likely falls on the shoulders of Freshman QB Jordan McCloud who has been inconsistent with his performances so far. He only threw the ball 14 times last time out and I certainly see that number increasing here as the USF coaching staff realizes they are not going to be rushing for 200+ yards on this Navy front 7.
Navy Midshipmen
The Midshipmen have been really good this year and it shows with their 4-1 record. They love to play smash mouth football and run the ball down your throat and keep your offense on the sidelines. They did just that last week as they made easy work of Tulsa in a blowout win.
Malcolm Perry, once again, was the star for this team with his legs and put up 218 yards and 3 touchdowns in what was his best rushing performance of the year. He likely does something similar against USF as we know Navy won’t ask him to throw the ball more than a few times. Look for him to rush for over 100 yards again and to be a pivotal piece in how this offense runs this Saturday.

As I said before this Navy team, from a defensive standpoint, do not like to give up rushing yards and like to force you to throw it. It has been a recipe for success so far and I don’t see them changing anything against a team they should handle pretty easily at home.

This number opened up at 12.5, but was immediately bet to 14 which is a key number, but I am still going to lay this points with the home team. I don’t have much interest at all in a freshman QB on the road against the fundamentally sound defense that Navy brings to the table. Navy will effectively halt USF’s rushing attack and should not have much problem covering this 2 TD spread come Saturday.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Navy -14 ATS
Bet the Navy Midshipmen minus the 2 touchdowns this Saturday and cash in on week 8 of college football.
