The Cornhuskers are a decent team, and they certainly showed that last week giving Iowa a real tough game even though Nebraska came out on the losing end by a score of 26-20. It has been a season of turmoil for the Cornhuskers, but they now get a chance against a beatable opponent here in the Purdue Boilermakers, although the Huskers come into this one as 2 point dogs.
The Boilermakers started out the season hot with 2 wins over two solid teams, but they have since come crashing down a bit losing their last three which included a very bad loss against a pretty bad Rutgers team. They will now look to retain some of that early season form, as they welcome in the Nebraska Cornhuskers to Ross-Ade Stadium this Saturday.
Nebraska Cornhuskers
Adrian Martinez got the start at QB last time out for the Cornhuskers over McCaffrey and he looked pretty solid against a good Iowa Hawkeyes defense despite not being able to pick up the win. If he goes again here he should have some more success against this Boilermakers secondary as long as that first game was not a fluke.
In order to have success here, however, I believe the Huskers will need to get the rushing game going outside of the QB position, as it seems like Nebraska can be a bit predictable at times and it would help them greatly to open up this offense.
Purdue Boilermakers
The Boilermakers had every chance to win that last game, but losing the turnover battle by just 1 proved critical enough to take the game away from this Purdue side. Purdue has had problems rushing the ball all year and they will need to rely on the passing game here which might not matchup well with what they are up against as the back-end of this Cornhuskers defense is at least a bit better than their front 7.
