Here’s why I’m backing a LSU ATS bet below in my Tigers Tigers free pick & gambling prediction for this matchup.
Tigers vs. Tigers Gameday
The No. 18 LSU Tigers visit Auburn on Saturday, October 24, 2026, for a Week 8 SEC showdown at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET, with ABC or ESPN carrying the game. Both teams enter at 2-2 in conference play.
LSU is 5-2 under Lane Kiffin, with all five victories coming at home. The Tigers have lost both road games, making this trip another test of their ability to travel.
That road record is becoming an uncomfortable talking point.
LSU owns the better overall record, but Auburn has already shown it can knock off a heavyweight.
Auburn enters 4-2 overall and 3-1 at Jordan-Hare under first-year coach Alex Golesh. The Tigers have momentum after an impressive road upset of top-ranked Georgia. Beating another ranked opponent would give Auburn a serious boost in the SEC race.
LSU has won the last two meetings in this rivalry, but Jordan-Hare has produced plenty of headaches for visiting favorites. Auburn has no intention of making this a comfortable afternoon.
It’s Week 8, LSU Tigers vs. Auburn Tigers, hopefully we get a great matchup. There’s plenty at stake for both sides.

Tigers Stats
Auburn has scored 161 points through six games, averaging 26.8 per contest. The Tigers have accumulated 1,270 passing yards and 1,113 rushing yards. Their ground game has provided more consistent production than their passing attack.
Jeremiah Cobb has contributed 306 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Receiver Keshaun Singleton has 32 catches for 367 yards and two scores.
Auburn needs those playmakers involved throughout the afternoon.
Auburn’s ground game can keep drives alive, but its defense must also handle LSU’s offensive balance.
Defensively, Auburn has allowed 131 points, an average of 21.8 per game. The Tigers have recorded 16 sacks and eight interceptions. Their ability to create takeaways has helped them survive stretches of inconsistent defensive play.
Linebacker Xavier Atkins has been dismissed from the program following a suspension. His departure removes an experienced defender who had been productive around the line of scrimmage.
Golesh needs the remaining linebackers to pick up the slack.
Tigers Stats
LSU has scored 283 points through seven games, averaging 40.4 per contest. The Tigers have generated 2,155 passing yards and 1,394 rushing yards. Kiffin’s offense has enough balance to punish opponents who commit too heavily to either phase.
Running back Dilin Jones leads LSU with 567 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Receiver Jackson Harris has contributed 456 receiving yards and five scores.
Harris’ ankle issue makes his availability worth watching before kickoff.
LSU has allowed 111 points, averaging 15.9 per contest. The defense has recorded 25 sacks and seven interceptions. Its ability to create pressure without sacrificing coverage has been an important part of the Tigers’ success.
LSU has also recovered two opponent fumbles. Those takeaways provide additional opportunities for an offense that already moves the ball efficiently.
Kiffin will want his defense dictating the physical battles on Saturday.
Tigers vs. Tigers QB Matchup
Byrum Brown directs Auburn’s offense and remains a legitimate dual-threat quarterback. Through six games, he has completed 118 of 184 passes for 1,202 yards. Brown has thrown eight touchdowns and seven interceptions, leaving ball security as an important concern.
Brown has also rushed for 459 yards and five touchdowns. His mobility forces defenses to account for him even when the initial passing play breaks down.
Containment will be a priority for LSU’s defensive front.
Brown has the arm strength to challenge coverage when Auburn establishes an offensive rhythm. He has also been prone to forcing throws when opponents create pressure. Better decisions on passing downs would make Auburn considerably harder to defend.
Backup Tristan Ti’a has completed two of five passes for 39 yards in limited appearances. Brown remains the central figure in Golesh’s offensive plans.
Auburn needs its quarterback making plays without handing away possessions.

LSU counters with Sam Leavitt, who has completed 148 of 211 passes for 1,784 yards. He has thrown 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions through seven games. Leavitt’s mobility also gives LSU another option when protection breaks down.
Backup Landen Clark has completed 14 of 31 passes for 235 yards and one touchdown without an interception. Leavitt remains LSU’s primary quarterback, and his decision-making will be tested in a hostile road environment.
LSU Tigers vs. Auburn Tigers bottom line: LSU has the more productive passing attack, while Auburn needs its home-field energy and defensive playmakers to disrupt the visiting Tigers.
LSU Tigers vs. Auburn Tigers Football Betting Trends

- Also, the Tigers from LSU are 19-9 straight up after a win in their last 28 games.
- LSU has a 2-1 over/under record in games with totals of 50 or more this season.
- Auburn is 3-1 straight up in home games this season.
- Plus, Auburn has a 15-13 over/under record as an underdog in their last 28 games.

Tigers Tigers Free Pick: LSU -7.5
Here is my Tigers Tigers free pick: I’m taking LSU -7.5. LSU has won 24 of its last 28 games as a favorite, but covering this number takes more than another straight-up victory. Auburn’s 13-17 home ATS record over its last 30 games doesn’t inspire much confidence. LSU needs to establish a lead early and make Auburn chase points. That’s where the extra half-point becomes less intimidating.
Jordan-Hare will be loud, but noise doesn’t cover receivers.
LSU needs an eight-point victory, and Auburn cannot afford to spend the afternoon playing catch-up.
The road record is the legitimate concern. LSU cannot afford another sluggish opening quarter. I’m expecting Kiffin to keep attacking once LSU gets ahead. Sitting on a touchdown lead would be a fine way to hand the sportsbooks a present.
Auburn’s Georgia upset earns respect, not a free pass.
LSU has to finish this game instead of protecting a narrow lead. I expect the Tigers to force Auburn into enough mistakes to create that separation.
The number is aggressive, but Auburn’s home ATS history gives me reason to challenge it.
I’m laying the points with LSU -7.5.
