Kennesaw State has lost four straight, including two narrow defeats. The Owls are still searching for their first road victory.
Winning away from home would be a refreshing change.
Two struggling Conference USA teams meet Wednesday, and somebody finally gets to enjoy the postgame handshake.
Missouri State has dropped three consecutive games. The Bears are 1-1 at home, where they’ve shown considerably more life offensively.
Both teams are looking for their first conference win. Another loss would make the climb up the standings considerably steeper. Neither program needs additional practice digging holes.

Missouri State has shown enough passing ability to challenge the Owls. The key is finishing possessions instead of settling for promising drives that go nowhere.
That’s how underdogs stay dangerous.
I’ll take three points with Missouri State rather than pay a premium for an equally struggling opponent.
The Owls have covered several recent spreads, but those numbers came with considerably more room for error. Asking them to win by more than a FG on the road is a different proposition.
Missouri State doesn’t need a flawless performance.
A couple of timely stops and a productive second half could put the Bears in position to steal this one.
Neither defense deserves a standing ovation.
My college football betting system likes home underdogs when the favorite hasn’t demonstrated it can consistently finish games. This matchup fits that argument without requiring a scoring explosion. I’ll call it Missouri State 28-24.
