The Akron Zips have had a rough season in 2020, and it is likely to get a bit tougher here on Saturday, as they take on the undefeated Buffalo Bulls at UB Stadium in Buffalo New York.
The Zips are coming off of their first win of the year, however, so they should come into this one with some kind of confidence despite being installed as 32 point underdogs in this contest.
Akron Zips
The Zips did beat Bowling Green in their last game in blowout fashion, but that is honestly not saying much as the Falcons are really bad this year and it seems like everyone beats up on them in 2020.
Before that game they lost 4 games all of which were noncompetitive and with the Zips being primarily a rush first team it is tough to see how they will hang with the Bulls here, as the Buffalo front 7 is quite strong for the MAC conference. QB Zach Gibson is also unlikely to play well, as he has not looked good this year and this will be one of his toughest matchups of the year and with his team being 32 point underdogs he will likely be throwing the ball plenty here in an attempt to catch up.
Buffalo Bulls
The Bulls have looked to be the class of the entire MAC conference here in 2020 and they certainly proved just that last time out against the Kent State Golden Flashes beating them in a thrilling game by a score of 70-41. The Golden Flashes are a much better team than the Akron Zips, so the fact that this team was almost able to cover this spread against Kent State shows just how warranted this spread really is.
It should be yet another big game for running back Jaret Patterson who has almost rushed for 1000 yards and has 16 touchdowns to his name and there is no real reason to see those trends changing here against Akron.
