The first-round series between the sixth-seed Chicago Bulls and third-seed Milwaukee Bucks continues on Wednesday, April 27th, with the defending champions seeking to wrap up the series with their fourth victory.
Milwaukee swept the season series with wins on January 21st (94-90), March 4th (118-112), March 22nd (126-98), and April 5th (126-106).
The Bulls hold the all-time record having bested the Bucks in 132 of their 259 matches.
This will be the fifth time the teams have played in the postseason, Milwaukee won 4-0 in 1974 (Conference finals), 3-1 in 1985 (first round) while Chicago won two opening-round series, 3-1 in 1990 and 4-2 in 2015.
Chicago Bulls
With the Bulls splitting the games in Milwaukee to start the series they returned back to Chicago hoping to build upon that advantage. The Bucks were down one of their Big 3 (Middleton) so it seemed more likely Chicago could force a long series.
Instead, they suffered consecutive losses of 81-111 and 95- 119 at the United Center and are back in Milwaukee on the brink of elimination.
That the Bulls couldn’t even get close in either game at home is disheartening. There are positives to pull from this series such as the youngsters gaining invaluable playoff experience.
Yet the biggest lesson learned was the need to improve defensively. Missing Lonzo Ball is definitely a factor but the Bulls need to make distinct improvements on that end of the court if they want to become contenders.
The home losses by routs were tough but the fact nemesis Grayson Allen was the Bucks’ x-factor was an especially hard pill to swallow.
A trio of Bulls collected double-doubles led by Zach LaVine with 24 points and 13 assists. The other two were from sophomore Patrick Williams (20 points and 10 rebounds) and Nikola Vucevic (11 points, 10 rebounds).
DeMar DeRozan added 23 points as the only other double-figure contributor.
All signs point to the series finishing in this game particularly with news Zach LaVine won’t play Wednesday due to being back in protocols. Alex Caruso is questionable after suffering a concussion in the last game.
Matt Thomas (leg) was downgraded to out on Wednesday. Lonzo Ball (knee) remains out indefinitely.
Milwaukee Bucks
Grayson Allen is having a great series and while he has become public enemy number one in Chicago the Bucks are enjoying the youngster’s improvement especially not having Middleton.
Allen offered 27 points on a highly efficient 10 of 12 from the field and 6 of 7 from deep.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (32 points, 17 rebounds, seven assists) and Bobby Portis (14 points, 10 rebounds) each registered double-doubles while Jrue Holiday scored 26.
George Hill (abdominal) is questionable for Wednesday while Middleton (knee) is out indefinitely.
NBA Betting Trends:

- The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Milwaukee’s last 5 games

Free Chicago Bulls vs. Milwaukee Bucks NBA Prediction
The Bulls won’t have any desire to force a Game 6 and suffer another embarrassing loss in front of the Bulls faithful. With LaVine out and Caruso questionable, they have a built-in excuse for why they didn’t extend the series.
And with the Nets getting swept they won’t be the focus of the news cycle so expect them to play with more freedom in this match but to fall by double-digits.
