With such a cheap price on Cueto this is a bargain. The Reds are playing better than the Giants but you probably won't get Cueto at this price any time soon. Take San Francisco |

05-07-17 | Red Sox v. Twins +162 | 17-6 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 24 m | Show
RED SOX @ TWINS This play is solely based on the price. Sale is a great pitcher and has a 1.38 ERA but is only 2-2. Santana is having an incredible run as he is 5-0 with a 0.66 ERA after 6 starts. He allowed 1 run in 3 of them and no runs in the other 3. He is 3-0 at home with a 0.66 ERA and batters are hitting .109 off him there. He has only pitched 5 innings against Boston since 2014. This is a huge price considering everything not to mention the Twins have won 5 of their last 7 games while the Sox have lost 2 of their last 3 and are 5-7 on the road. A small wager on a hot pitcher could bring a nice return. That is where the value is. Take Minnesota |

The A's are 13th in the league in batting and 14th in runs scored. They have been held to 2 runs or less in 6 of their last 10 games. The Marlins have lost 4 of their last 5 games and 8 of 10 overall. Gsellman takes the mound for the Mets with a 1-2 record and a 6.75 ERA after 5 starts. He has given up 3 runs or less in just 2 of his starts and in 4 of them didn't make it past the 5th inning. He was 4-2 last year with a 2.42 ERA in his first season and he is a better pitcher than his numbers indicate. Most of his problems come from not getting ahead of hitters which forces him to pitch from behind in the count which has given hitters too many good pitches to hit. In those games he gave up 13 hits and 7 runs which gives him a 7.27 ERA on the road. At night he is 1-1 with a 5.06 ERA. He was 2-7 on the road last year with a 4.91 ERA. Since 2014 he pitched just 6 innings against the Cubs. NY has won 12 of their 17 games at home. Hendricks takes the mound for the Cubs with a 2-1 record and a 4.18 ERA after 5 starts. He had a rough start as he allowed at least 3 runs in his first 3 starts but seems to have settled down and in his last 2 starts pitched a total of 12 innings and gave up 7 hits and only 2 runs. Last year he was 9-2 at home with a 1.32 ERA and in day games was 9-3 with a 2.42 ERA. He has never faced the Yanks while opposing batters are hitting just .216 off him this year. The Cubs have won 3 straight at home and 4 of their last 6 overall. This is a very fair price to be paying for one of the better pitchers on one of the better teams in baseball. Take Chicago |

05-04-17 | Phillies +200 v. Cubs | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 40 m | Show
PHILLIES @ CUBS Eflin pitches for the Phillies with an 0-0 record and a 1.89 ERA after 3 starts. He has pitched well in eac game giving up no more than 4 hits or 2 runs in any of them. His last 2 starts were excellent aqs he pitched a total of 7 innings in each game and gave up just 7 hits and 3 earned runs total. In his rookie season last year he started 11 games and gave up 3 runs or less in 7 of the starts. He never faced the Cubs. Lackey takes the mound for the Cubs with a 2-3 record and a 5,10 ERA after 5 starts. He is not having a good year and in 4 of the starts gave up at least 3 earned runs while not pitching past the 6th inning in any game. In his last 3 starts he pitched a total of 18 innings and gave up 21 hits and 13 earned runs along wit 6 HR's. He hasn't had a lot of luck during the day and since 2014 is only 9-7 with a 3.64 ERA. He has had success against the Phillies in the past but the way he is pitching I believe the line is overpriced and a small wager on the Phillies at close to 2-1 odds is worth the risk. Take Philadelphia |

05-03-17 | A's v. Twins -108 | 4-7 | Win | 100 | 8 h 15 m | Show
A'S @ TWINS Graveman pitches for the A's with a 2-1 record and a 2.25 ERA after 4 starts. He has been very good allowing 2 runs or less in each game. He is 2-0 against the Twins since 2014. This is Oakland 's 8th straight road game and they have lost 6 of the  7 played and 7 of their last 8 overall. Their offense has scored 2 runs or less in 6 of their last 8 games overall. Santiago takes the mound for the Twins with a 2-1 record and a 2.43 ERA after 5 starts. He has pitched well allowing 2 runs or less in 4 of the games and giving up just 2 HR's in 29.2 total innings. He is 2-0 at home in 3 starts with a 1.96 ERA and has 16 K's in 18.1 total innings there. Since 2014 he is 2-1 against the A's with a 3.63 ERA and the current lineup is batting just .187 off him. 05-03-17 | Diamondbacks v. Nationals -128 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 18 m | Show
DIAMONDBACKS @ NATS Ray pitches for Arizona with a 2-1 record and a 3.56 ERA after 5 starts. He hasn't been that sharp in his last 2 games as he pitched a total of 11.1 innings and gave up 14 hits and 8 runs. Part of his problem has been control that gets him high pitch counts which doesn't allow him to go deep into games and he hasn't made it thru 7 full innings yet. In 30.1 total innings pitched so far he has walked 17 batters and at least 3 in 4 of his 5 starts. He has given up a HR in 3 straight games and has thrown over 100 pitches in 2 straight. He is 0-2 in 2 starts against the Nats with an 8.44 ERA and in his only game at Washington was hit hard for 5 runs and 5 hits in just 4.2 innings along with 2 HR's. Gonzalez takes the mound for the Nats with a 3-0 record and a 1.62 ERA after 5 starts. He has pitched at least 6 innings in every game and allowed 2 runs or less in each one. He started 3 games at home and has a 1.33 ERA in 20.1 innings and since 2014 faced Arizona in 4 games and is 0-1 with a 4.35 ERA but at home he has an ERA of 2.87 against them. Take Washington |

METS @ BRAVES DeGrom pitches for NY with a 1-1 record and a 2.84 ERA after 5 starts. He pitched well in each game as he allowed 3 runs or less in each and he has struck out at least 10 batters in each of his last 3 starts which gives him 44 K's in 31.2 total innings. He faced the Braves in his first game and pitched 6 scoreless innings allowing just 2 hits in a no decision. Last year he was 1-1 with a 1.83 ERA against Atlanta in 3 starts with 2 of them in Atlanta where he allowed just 1 run in 13.2 innings pitched. Since 2014 he is 3-3 with a 1.90 ERA in 8 starts and 2-2 at Atlanta with a 1.97 ERA striking out 56 batters in 52 total innings. Colon takes the mound for the Braves with a 1-2 record and a 5.59 ERA in 5 starts. He has given up at least 4 runs in 3 of the starts and in his last 2 pitched a total of 12 innings and gave up 21 hits and 10 runs.He faced the Mets in his 1st start and pitched 6 innings and gave up just a run.                              ORIOLES @ RED SOX Gausman pitches for the O's with a 1-2 record and a 7.50 ERA after 6 starts. He hasn't pitched well all year and has given up at least 4 earned runs in 4 of his starts. He hasn't made it past the 6th inning and was knocked out in 2 games before the 5th. in his last 3 starts he pitched a total of 14 innings and gave up 24 hits and 18 runs along with 6 HR's and 8 walks. He faced the Sox at home 2 games ago and lasted just 5.1 innings as he gave up 8 hits and 5 runs along with 3 HR's. Since 2014 he is 2-4 against the Sox with a 4.84 ERA while at Fenway was 1-2 with a 5.04 ERA. Pomeranz takes the mound with a 2-1 record and a 4.15 ERA after 4 starts. He allowed 2 runs or less in 3 of them including a tough 2-0 loss to the O's where he gave up just 2 runs. He pitched just 6.2 innings against the O's since 2014 until the most recent one. 05-03-17 | Indians v. Tigers +151 | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 14 m | Show
INDIANS @ TIGERS Carrasco pitches for Cleveland with a 2-2 record and a 2.04 ERA in 5 starts. He has pitched very well allowing 2 runs or less in 4 of his games but in his last start he walked 3 batters and gave up 2 HR's for his 2nd loss. He faced Detroit once so far and pitched 6.2 innings and gave up 4 hits and 2 runs in his first loss. He was 2-0 against the Tigers last year and since 2014 is 5-2 with a 2.85 ERA but is 3-2 at Detroit with a 3.72 ERA in 5 starts there. The Tigers have won 6 of the last 7 meetings with Cleveland while winning the last 4 played at Detroit. Boyd takes the mound for the Tigers with a 2-1 record and a 2.86 ERA after 5 starts. He allowed 3 runs or less in 4 of the games and in 2 starts at home has a 2.08 ERA and hitters are batting .174 there. He has pitched just 4.2 innings against the Indians in his career without allowing a run. The Tigers have held the Indians to a total of 3 runs in the first 2 games of the series winning both while outscoring them 19-6. Detroit has won 3 straight games while the Indians have lost 3 of their last 5. This seems to be an overpriced line and Detroit is a good value bet. Take Detroit |

05-02-17 | White Sox v. Royals -108 | 6-0 | Loss | -108 | 13 h 36 m | Show
WHITE SOX @ ROYALS Quintana pitches for the Sox with a 1-4 record and a 5.22 ERA after 5 starts. He lost his first 4 games as he gave up at least 3 runs in each of them but had his best game last time out when he pitched 6 innings and gave up 5 hits and 2 runs for his 1st win against these Royals at home. This is a far cry from last year when he won 5 of his first 6 decisions and his ERA was 1.38. He was 0-3 against KC last year with a 4.91 ERA in 4 starts and had a 5.56 ERA at KC where he was 0-1 in 2 starts. Since 2014 he had been 1-6 against the Royals with a 4.53 ERA until his most recent game. The Sox have cooled off and have now lost 2 straight games scoring just 4 runs in the 2  while they have lost the last 4 games they played in KC. Duffy takes the mound for the Royals with a 2-1 record and a 2.81 ERA after 5 starts. He had his worst game his last time out giving up 9 hits and 6 runs to this Sox team in Chicago after 4 starts where he allowed 2 runs or less in each game. Last year he was 7-0 at home and 3-0 against the Sox with a 2.56 ERA in 5 starts and is 5-2 with a 3.13 ERA since 2014. Considering the Royals are home and he is their ace this is a very good price against an overvalued White Sox team. Take Kansas City |

05-02-17 | Indians v. Tigers +116 | 2-5 | Win | 116 | 12 h 54 m | Show
INDIANS @ TIGERS Kluber pitches for the Indians with a 3-1 record and a 4.19 ERA after 5 starts. He has won his last 3 games but 1 of them was against the Tigers and he was hit hard for 8 hits and 6 runs in 6.1 innings but Cleveland won that game as he eventually was knocked out of the game. He has given up at least 3 runs in 3 of his 5 starts and 4 of 6 HR's allowed were on the road. He is 4-3 against Detroit since 2014 with the Tigers hitting .281 off him. Verlander takes the mound for the Tigers with a 1-2 record and a 4.60 ERA after 5 starts. He allowed 2 runs or less in 3 of his games but only came away with 1 win in those games while his worst game was against these Indians as he was hammered for 11 hits and 9 runs in only 4 innings in a road game. At home he is 0-0 in 2 starts and hasn't allowed an earned run in 14 total innings. Since 2014 he is 2-7 against the Indians but pitched much better at home against them. Detroit has won 6 of the last 8 meetings against Cleveland including their last 3 in Detroit. With Verlander as a dog at home against an inconsistent Cleveland team this is a good value play. Take Detroit |

05-01-17 | Giants +225 v. Dodgers | 4-3 | Win | 225 | 14 h 19 m | Show
GIANTS @ DODGERS There really isn't too much to say about this game other than it's always a risk betting against Kershaw in LA. He has pitched well against the Giants which is no surprise but his last start in SF won by a 2-1 score and the Giants have beaten LA in 5 of their last 7 meetings. On the flip side SF has their ace pitching and Cueto is very familiar with this lineup since he has started 8 games against them since 2014 and owns a respectable 4-2 record with a 2.15 ERA. Again this is a bit of a risk but you will probably never see Cueto as a 2-1 underdog again this year. A small bet could be good for a nice return. For me it's a chance Ill take! Take San Francisco |

05-01-17 | White Sox +150 v. Royals | 1-6 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 30 m | Show
WHITE SOX @ ROYALS Covey pitches for the Sox with an 0-1 record and a 6.91 ERA after 3 starts. All the damage was done in 1 game when he gave up 8 of his total of 11 runs in a game against the Yanks. In his other 2 starts he pitched a total of 9.1 innings and gave up 8 hits and 3 runs, His last start was against KC and he pitched 4 innings and gave up 3 hits and 2 runs. This his 1st season with Chicago who have won 6 of their last 7 games including a 3 game sweep of the Royals. Vargas takes the mound for KC with a 3-1 record and a 1,40 ERA. He was brilliant in his first 3 starts as he gave up just 1 earned run in 20.2 innings but his last game was against these Sox and they hit him hard scoring 5 runs on 7 hits in just 5 innings. The Sox hit lefties very very well and are batting just under .300 against them. The Royals have had trouble scoring runs as they have scored 2 runs or less in 7 of their last 10 games while losing 9 straight overall. A modest bet could bring a nice profit. Take Chicago |

05-01-17 | Mets v. Braves -117 | 7-5 | Loss | -117 | 12 h 14 m | Show
METS @ BRAVES Gsellman pitches for NY with an 0-2 record and a 6.23 ERA after 4 starts. He has given up at least 3 runs in each start and a total of 20 runs in only 20.2 innings. In his last game he was torched by the Braves for 10 hits and 6 runs in only 4 innings while last year he was 0-1 with a 5.23 ERA against Atlanta. The Mets have lost 7 of their last 9 games including a 23-5 whipping yesterday. Teheran takes the mound for the Braves with a 2-1 record and a 3.38 ERA after 5 starts including his last when he beat the Mets as he pitched 6.1 innings and gave up 4 hits and 2 runs. It was the 2nd time he faced them and in the 1st game pitched 6 scoreless innings in a no decision. He gave up 2 runs or less in 4 of his 5 starts and was 2-0 last year against them with a 0.90 ERA. He is 7-3 against NY since 2014 while the team is batting just .193 off him. This is a small price to pay for Atlanta's ace. Take Atlanta |

05-01-17 | Orioles +138 v. Red Sox | 5-2 | Win | 138 | 12 h 34 m | Show
ORIOLES @ RED SOX Bundy pitches for the O's with a 3-1 record and a 1.65 ERA after 5 starts which includes a win against Boston when he pitched 7 shutout innings. He has allowed 1 run or less in 3 of his 5 starts and his 1 loss was also against Boston but he only gave up 3 runs in 6.1 innings and thru the full 6 innings gave up just 2 runs and was relieved after a walk to the 2nd batter in the 7th. Baltimore is scoring runs like crazy and scored 22 runs in their last 3 games and have beaten the Sox 3 of their last 4 meetings. Porcello takes the mound for the Sox with a 1-3 record and a 4.75 ERA after 5 starts. He did pitch his best 2 games so far in his last 2 starts but Boston lost his last 3 games. He is 1-2 at home with a 6.75 ERA and all 3 losses were at night where he has a 5.00 ERA while 5 of the 6 HR's he has given up were at home. They are 2-3 on this current homestand. This is a very inflated price considering everything. Take Baltimore |

He came into the league and has been a relief pitcher until his last 3 appearances where he made 3 starts. He pitched well in his last pitching 7 shutout innings against the light hitting A's at home but his other 2 starts were on the road and he pitched a total of 10.1 innings and gave up 10 hits and 8 runs while losing both games. He is 1-2 on the road with a 5.79 ERA and in the 1 win he still gave up 2 hits and 3 runs in just 1.1 innings of relief. Perez takes the mound for Texas with a 1-3 record and a 3.81 ERA after 5 starts. He has given up 3 runs or less in 4 of his starts most of the damage has been on the road where he pitched a total of 8.2 innings and gave up 5 runs and 13 hits.
