04-21-16 | Raptors -1 v. Pacers | Top | 101-85 | Win | 100 | 10 h 12 m | Show |
Demar DeRozan can and will wake up in this series. Toronto's defense and intensity will be at its peak as they steal back home court advantage and take control of game 3. I'm on the Raptors. |

12-25-15 | Spurs -7 v. Rockets | Top | 84-88 | Loss | -104 | 5 h 18 m | Show |

12-23-15 | Thunder -13 v. Lakers | Top | 120-85 | Win | 100 | 14 h 29 m | Show |
I'll take this one up to -15 if I have to, but I don't. OKC played at the Staples Center on Monday and they stayed there, ready and able to demolish the Lakers who arrive from the worst place on the front end of their back-to-back. Winning in Denver does nothing for the Lakers on the positive end as their desperate hunger for wins only diminishes while they have to look ahead to an all-LA matchup (Clippers/Lakers) on Christmas night. Lou Williams and Jordan Clarkson come in after 37+ minutes of play time in the mile high city of Denver while Kobe went 10-22 with 31 points to be a big factor in this win with 32+ minutes clocked in. I don't see how LA can put out fresh bodies to stop the OKC assault. The Thunder want to stay far away from a close game after the ridiculous back-and-forth game against the Clippers. They'll keep this one out of reach and work on moving the ball more to get everyone involved in a lay-up win. Take OKC. |

12-12-15 | Warriors -8 v. Bucks | Top | 95-108 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 55 m | Show |

12-02-15 | Warriors -9 v. Hornets | Top | 116-99 | Win | 100 | 9 h 41 m | Show |
It's extremely easy to highlight all the reasons why the Warriors are better. They are clearly 8-9 points better in a matchup against Charlotte. With a 115.3 pts. per game average compared to 102.5 for the Hornets, it's easy to see how the Warriors can simply pull ahead at the blink of an eye. What I'm seeing is that after the Utah game, the Warriors took the narrow 3 point win as an eye opener to never let off the gas if they truly want what they say they want. This team desires to make history with the best regular season record and the longest all time winning streak in the league. They have to play their brand of basketball and continue moving the ball and draining shots before their opposition even ties their shoelaces. Stephen Curry is a genius and a freak on the court and he returns to the city where basketball entered his life. Charlotte is Curry's stomping ground and plenty of fans in the crowd will be cheering for him to crush it tonight. With two days off after this game, the Warriors should be able to keep the game in overdrive and tire out the slow and steady Hornets who are not able to keep up on the offensive end. Al Jefferson is out and he's a huge piece to this core group that is playing very well against weaker or even leveled opponents. Jeremy Lin is questionable with an ankle injury and that could put more pressure on the backcourt to keep up with the small ball weapons on Golden State. This is a good play and should result in a win for us. Take the Warriors. |
|||||||
11-30-15 | Thunder -2 v. Hawks | Top | 100-106 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 52 m | Show |
OKC is rolling and playing a nasty brand of basketball with Durant back in the lineup. He's averaging 28.7 a game and 30.3  at a 58.5% clip in 3 games since returning from a 6 game absence. Westbrook follows right behind at 27.2 a game along with 9.9 assists and 7.2 boards for some seriously impressive numbers and the best 1-2 punch in the league. Speaking of rebounds, the Thunder are averaging 7.7 more rebounds per game than their opposition. Paul Milsap is the only consistent player right now in a very inconsistent season for the Hawks. Ibaka should be able to limit his production and I truly see the Thunder matching up extremely well here with a clear offensive edge. OKC has gotten the best of the Hawks over years going 17-3 ATS in Atlanta. OKC is 19-7 ATS in their last 26 overall between them. The Hawks allow 100.3 a game while the Thunder give up just over a bucket more at 102.8 The difference maker comes on offense with only 102.2 for the Hawks compared to 109.4 for the Thunder. Atlanta has lost 6 of 9 and 4-6 in their last 10 compared to the 7-3 Thunder who've won 4 in a row crushing opponents by an average of 16.3 points in their last 3 with Durant back playing confident and aggressive. Atlanta got crushed by the Spurs by 20 (108-88) in their last game and will have to face the difficult task that most teams struggle with when playing their first home game after a 3+ game road trip in the opposite conference. Take the Thunder to win on this short line. |
|||||||
05-14-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Chicago Bulls -2 | Top | 94-73 | Loss | -108 | 9 h 45 m | Show |
Not much to say here except that it's win or stay home for Chicago. The Bulls thrive in this situation and will not allow it to slip away so soon. This is a great team and they should make a little more noise tomorrow. Take the Bulls |
|||||||
05-04-15 | Chicago Bulls +5 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | Top | 99-92 | Win | 100 | 8 h 23 m | Show |
I'm backing the Bulls to steal one of the first two games in Cleveland. I will gladly take the generous spread of 5 points being offered at 5Dimes right now but my eye is onthe outright win for the Bulls. Chicago has a better team and is more motivated. Their big men are much more solid giving an edge in rebounding and defense all the way through. No Love or J.R. Smith and Cleveland's inexperienced playoff coaching along with young talent doesn't even compare to a healthy, veteran, tactical team like Chicago. Gimme the points for sure. |
|||||||
05-01-15 | Atlanta Hawks -3.5 v. Brooklyn Nets | Top | 111-87 | Win | 100 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
Enough is enough. Look for Atlanta to get the job done and wrap this series up without the need for a Game 7 at home. Brooklyn just got a taste of the resurgence that was sorely needed and anticipated by the Hawks with the 10 point loss they suffered in Game 5. Expect Atlanta to win by 4 or more today and move onto the Wizards who've been waiting patiently for the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. |
|||||||
04-30-15 | Chicago Bulls -3.5 v. Milwaukee Bucks | Top | 120-66 | Win | 100 | 10 h 35 m | Show |
Let's grab 3 in a row in the NBA with the Bulls finally shutting the door on the Bucks. Enough's enough. Buy a half point to the key number of -3. Chicago is motivated beyond measure at this point and clearly wasting precious rest time. This is a team that ranks far and beyond their competition but they used their cushion they built early on to take their foot off the gas in the last 2 games. Expect a solid win as they advance to the Eastern Conference Semi-finals. |
|||||||
04-24-15 | Houston Rockets +1 v. Dallas Mavericks | Top | 130-128 | Win | 100 | 8 h 42 m | Show |
I'm taking Houston to win and possibly even sweep Dallas in Game 4. Let's focus on game 3 first. The Mavs are distracted by all the headlines about Rondo and Felton or Barea cannot carry the load that is expected from a playoff PG. Josh Smith and Dwight Howard are contributing in a big way that frees up Harden to use the extra space for his expected 20-30 pts. a night. Houston was rolling at the end of the season and they haven't let off. Dallas is not built for this playoff run with a makeshift list of reserves and an aging superstar that can't seem to create enough space to be effective. Take Houston. |
|||||||
04-22-15 | San Antonio Spurs v. Los Angeles Clippers -1 | Top | 111-107 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 59 m | Show |
I tend to get clipped often by the Clippers when I side with them but how can we not at this point? Are the Spurs even hungry anymore? The Clippers feed off momentum and they're so starved for legitimacy in the post-season that they'll do just about anything to get it. LA has the recipe for success at home and it revolves around DeAndre Jordan protecting the rim like the beast that he is. Duncan, Parker and Ginobili continue to struggle in the paint with Parker hobbling after tweaking his ankle and Jordan's insane reach altering the release on their shots. San Antonio can tie up this series at home where they are practically untouchable but this is another night for LA and their raucous home crowd. Chris Paul over Tony Parker. Leonard gets his points while Griffin gets his. Crawford provides the spark off the bench and Jordan owns the paint. Take the Clippers and hope that we don't get clipped. |
|||||||
04-15-15 | Orlando Magic +8 v. Brooklyn Nets | Top | 88-101 | Loss | -106 | 6 h 14 m | Show |
The Orlando Magic leave it all out on the court with a hard fought performance. Tobias Harris at 17.9 per game will be a restricted free agent and he'll be playing for his pay raise. Oladipo is getting 23.3 in the last 4 games with 30 in Miami on Monday. Vucevic at 19 and 10 per game equalizes the attack from Brook Lopez. The Nets play terrible under pressure and all eyes on are them to get this win. Orlando won't make it easy. They'll badger the home team and continue to frustrate a Nets offense that has slumped down to a 79.5 average in their last 2 games and 4 losses out of 6. I'm not sure this team even wants to go into the playoffs as they'll receive a beating once again by the hands of the Hawks. Brooklyn has a fair shot at losing this game outright. The Magic were getting 10 points on the opening line but it has dropped to +8 for a reason. Orlando plays for team pride and player recognition and they'll also get a real kick at spoiling the post-season for the Nets. Brooklyn has no cohesion and they have fallen off their horse. It's time for the young Magic to take them for a ride. If the Nets win, it shouldn't be by more than 8. Take Orlando. |
|||||||
04-14-15 | Washington Wizards +10 v. Indiana Pacers | Top | 95-99 | Win | 100 | 10 h 33 m | Show |
The Wizards had a similar run to myself this season. They were doing very well off the jump and started losing close ones in the middle of the season but they've turned it around and surpassed a record amount of wins (45) that hadn't been done since 1979. Washington is known to play weaker away from home (17-22) and they know it. This team is going nowhere with the #5 seed and no home court advantage where they went a dominant 29-12. If they don't find ways of getting the job done on the road, they won't stand a chance. I like this team and the balance on the roster between young and old, big and small. They listen to their coach and maintain a team oriented style that goes through their superstar point guard. Bradley Beal is averaging 20 a game this month at the right time. The big men are healthier now and ready to protect the rim against anyone in the East. Remember that this team ranks 5th overall in defensive efficiency. Indiana is known for their defense but they rank 9th this year. Everyone notices how the Pacers have won 5 in a row as they fight for a shot at the playoffs. The Nets own the tiebreaker so Indiana is supposed to feel the pressure and go all out tonight. Washington is no slouch right now and just as hot with 5 wins out of 6. I want Washington to rest their starters. I dare them to. I want their bench to maintain the defensive pressure and prove their value for the playoffs. A 10 point cushion is unwarranted even if the Wizards choose to rest and manage minutes. Indiana wins but stays within single digits. |
|||||||
04-12-15 | Charlotte Hornets v. Detroit Pistons -7.5 | Top | 77-116 | Win | 100 | 8 h 34 m | Show |
The Pistons are playing their last home game of the season and will be at a huge advantage down low. Andre Drummond is an emotional player who snapped at his coach earlier this week. Both of them have dealt with the issue and the response is a level of intensity in front of the home fans that should be noticed. The rebounds and second chance opportunities will build this lead up for the Pistons and they should be able to take care of the thin lineup of Charlotte who also have nothing left to play for. Both teams need to play again tomorrow with Charlotte looking ahead at their last home game versus the Rockets. Charlotte continues to work out their young talent off the bench in increased minutes to allow them to learn from their mistakes. The Pistons on the other hand respond to their coaches demand for an all out assault to leave the season on some sort of high note after a dismal start, a red-hot streak and a fizzled out final homestretch. Despite missing too many free throws, the team is averaging triple digits in this 4 game homestand and will cap it off with a similar performance while the the Hornets should struggle to crack 90. Take the Pistons at -7 if you can. Also look to parlay the Pistons and Nuggets on the moneyline for a nice little side play. |
|||||||
04-11-15 | Toronto Raptors +3 v. Miami Heat | Top | 107-104 | Win | 100 | 14 h 13 m | Show |
Toronto makes the quick move from Orlando to Miami after a win and they look to stay in top gear with DeRozan and Williams playing hot in the backcourt. There's less pressure on Lowry and Amir Johnson will get back into this one. Dwayne Wade is not hitting shots as his legs are starting to give up on him. Luol Deng's knee is not fit for the post-season. This is not a playoff team and they know it. When they have to start telling the local papers that they'll still play their hardest, you can take that as the opposite. Miami has checked out after the loss to Chicago. The embarrassment of a very likely sweep after four Finals appearances in a row is simply not worth it when the lottery looks so appealing this season. Toronto has a hungry city behind them and they are carrying the torch for a bunch if guys who firmly believe they can get past the 1st round this post-season and make more noise if they enter on the right foot. If they get sloppy and the defense loosens up again, then it's as good as done. No time for Toronto to take their foot off the gas. Take the Raptors at +3 but consider the +4 for extra security in case Miami somehow gets hot, builds a lead and squanders it for the Raptors to cover back door. The books are giving us too much of a cushion so I'm personally on it for the +4. +3 is the official play. |
|||||||
04-10-15 | Memphis Grizzlies -3 v. Utah Jazz | Top | 89-88 | Loss | -103 | 13 h 33 m | Show |
Utah is dangerous at home but the Grizzlies come in with confidence after dumping the Pelicans 110-74. The race for the 2nd spot or even home court advantage in the West is too close to call. There can't be any slip-ups. Memphis matches up well with Utah and will look to take them very seriously after losing to them during a scoring slump at home earlier in March. Utah can flat out play but key guys like Gordon Hayward have simply given it 100% effort for too many games. Signs of him being gassed out are evident as Utah should start looking to cycle in more bench players for on court experience and video footage for them to review over the off-season. Memphis meanwhile attacks all night and gets the job done to stay in the 2nd spot with Houston for one more night. |
|||||||
04-10-15 | Charlotte Hornets v. Atlanta Hawks -9.5 | Top | 80-104 | Win | 100 | 12 h 38 m | Show |
I'll take the Hawks even if the starting lineup is benched or resting the entire game. The Hornets are a shell of a team without Big Al Jefferson, MKG and now Lance Stephenson looking to sit out tonight and possibly the rest of the way. Atlanta is at home and they'll look to stay sharp by making sure the bench is on point and ready to deliver meaningful minutes. Anyone can go down and at any minute in the playoffs and if the Hawks want to make a real push for the title, they'll need to come into the post-season with intense confidence and everything clicking. I don't see the Hawks taking this one lightly as they nail another team at home by double digits. |
|||||||
04-09-15 | Chicago Bulls +1.5 v. Miami Heat | Top | 89-78 | Win | 100 | 19 h 59 m | Show |
It doesn't matter if coach Thibs wanted to rested his entire starting lineup. This is a team that wins and believes in a system. Miami is already looking at the advantage of the lottery over an embarrassing playoff exit. The Bulls should be favored after losing last night with balanced minutes. Chicago is a solid play. |
|||||||
04-08-15 | Toronto Raptors -3 v. Charlotte Hornets | Top | 92-74 | Win | 100 | 9 h 37 m | Show |
Toronto comes in with 3 days off while the Hornets exhausted themselves in a 105-100 loss in Miami. Marvin Williams, Bismack Biyombo and Kemba Walker all logged in about 40 minutes each only to turn around and board a flight home to face a Toronto team that is going to turn up the pressure tonight. Toronto is a cursed town in sports for way too long. The Raptors have won the hearts of the city but they've been slipping lately. The playoff form insbeing demanded of them right now. There is no room to rest and drag their feet into the first round only to get booted out like last year. The Hornets also need a win but Toronto's pressure will be intense and too much for the Hornets to handle without a day of rest. Charlotte has been very strong in the series giving them the bloated confidence that they can handle this team. Toronto comes in with a chip on their shoulder to snap a 6 game losing streak to this team at just the right time. Take the Raptors. |
|||||||
04-07-15 | Minnesota Timberwolves v. Sacramento Kings -10 | Top | 111-116 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 37 m | Show |
Some awful lines with no one wanting touch the Lakers and the +17 points they're getting. No one knows what the Hawks will do with Millsap out and the risk of losing more key players so late in the season while the Suns are deflated and know they're about done once again. The Spurs are too hot to fade, but you can take a 6.5 handicap in OKC no matter how sloppy the Thunder play late in games when it's all in Westbrook's hands. Miami and Charlotte are full of injuries and neither one really wants to make the playoffs anymore with the lottery being much more promising. Sacramento is the only team looking to let loose after 6 losses in a row. DeMarcus Cousins won't have anyone to contest him with the Timberwolves shutting down players left and right. Wiggins, Lavine and Martin won't put up enough numbers to keep up with a motivated Kings team that should score at will against a defenseless away team. Cousins will be resting away games this week so look for him to go off tonight for some big numbers. Rudy Gay is questionable but should be cleared for some minutes after passing his concussion tests. Sacramento is the best pick today for 3 units. |
|||||||
04-04-15 | Wisconsin v. Kentucky -5 | Top | 71-64 | Loss | -110 | 57 h 31 m | Show |
It's time for another win from the team of the year. The Kentucky Wildcats will have a little bit of destiny on their side if things continue to go the way they have been all season. I've been on the Kentucky wagon all year in many parlays and single ATS plays. This is the team you want to depend on for a big night against Wisconsin. I'm taking Kentucky to get on a roll late into the game and seal the deal with a 5 point or more cover. SportsAtari heating up this weekend. Take Kentucky. |
|||||||
04-02-15 | Phoenix Suns v. Golden State Warriors -12.5 | Top | 106-107 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 47 m | Show |
The Suns have lost 4 in a row and unable to crack 100 points in 7 out of 10 games. The team is not eliminated yet but they're playing like it. Brandon Knight still can't play and the overall attitude is that the team knows that competing in the West is next to impossible this season. This is a team making moves for the future while the Warriors breeze through their home court in between road trips and simply dominate with the 1st ranked offense and defense. Stephen Curry wants that MVP and after Harden dropped 51 and Westbrook got his 10th triple double of the season, it's Curry's night. He's got the spotlight on Thursday and the team around him to continue playing hot. Resting and losing their touch will hurt them greatly come playoffs. This team should not let up. Take the Warriors at -12 with a half point buy if you can. |
|||||||
04-01-15 | New Orleans Pelicans -7.5 v. Los Angeles Lakers | Top | 113-92 | Win | 100 | 11 h 15 m | Show |
Look for the the Pelicans to come through as the best bet of the night at a spread of -7 or -8. The team is determined and hot and they roll off 2 large wins and 2 days of rest. The 8th seed is still up for grabs and the team is confident in their current position. Meanwhile in LA, the Lakers are getting booed by their own fans for defeating Philly in overtime with only a day of rest following a 5 game road trip. No way the Lakers get up for this game. No way they can keep up at this point in time in a favorable situation for Pelicans backers who know that LA is a sitting duck after this road trip as they're told not to tank too hard but not to win either. The Lakers are a hot mess while New Orleans is hot on the trail for the final playoff spot in the West. This is as good as it gets. |
|||||||
03-30-15 | Utah Jazz -5 v. Minnesota Timberwolves | Top | 104-84 | Win | 100 | 7 h 18 m | Show |
Once again it's a fade on a team that is running on fumes with more bodies going down. Gorgui Dieng is a key clog that takes over for Pekovic's absence but even he went down after only 9 minutes of play. It'll be hard for him to swtich from being questionable for tonight to actually producing quality minutes. Wiggins is taking on the scoring load but not doing much of anything else in terms of getting his teammates going. Simply too many minutes played for a young group of guys who haven't seasoned themselves into this lifestyle and the grind. It's late season and no one will blame them for any losses. Tanking and resting have reached new heights this season unfortunately and Minnesota is a prime candidate for back to back losses. Utah has the green light to continue the confidence boosting play that gives them hope for next season. If they continue to battle and stick together as a unit, they'll be much more motivated to stick around for a bright future. The culture of winning in Utah is getting stronger and the team plays harder than pretty much any other team that has been counted out of the playoffs. Buy 1 pt. to -4. |
|||||||
03-29-15 | Minnesota Timberwolves v. New Orleans Pelicans -12 | Top | 88-110 | Win | 100 | 6 h 3 m | Show |
The Pelicans catch the Wolves at a great time when a dominant win is much needed for the home team before they hit the road for 3 games. New Orleans gets two days off after this one while the Wolves have to manage minutes on an already depleted roster. Even though the team lists Kevin Martin as questionable, the guy knows he's not ready to play. There is only so much you can ask from this 8 man roster and they gave it a good go with a 2-3 record in their last 5 with three of those games going into overtime. Overtaxed, overspent and in need of a couple days but unable to even think about that with Utah tomorrow. The Pelicans will be playing before the Thunder as they sit 1.5 games behind them. The urgency to win here is huge. They beat the Kings at home 102-88 on Friday and should be able to repeat that performance today. |
|||||||
03-25-15 | Philadelphia 76ers v. Denver Nuggets -11 | Top | 99-85 | Loss | -101 | 11 h 20 m | Show |
76ers played in Sacramento last night for a 10pm (ET) game, boarded a flight to Denver for a 9pm game. The Sixers lack the scoring touch and the fresh legs to keep up with the uptempo Nuggets who are coming off a 119-100 away win and 2 days off. Â |
|||||||
03-24-15 | Toronto Raptors -2 v. Detroit Pistons | Top | 104-108 | Loss | -107 | 12 h 34 m | Show |
Toronto is up 2-1 in the season series and look to make it 3-1 while winning 4 of 5 to make some noise again in the East. They won't let an opportunity against a poor shooting team get in the way of staying in the top 4 and holding down home court advantage. The Raptors have won 7 of 9 against Detroit overall and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 between them. The Raptors now own the 4th ranked scoring offense and it should play a large factor in this game with the Pistons going through enough cold stretches to let the game slip away as the visitors leave the gym with a win. |
|||||||
03-22-15 | Philadelphia 76ers +4.5 v. Los Angeles Lakers | Top | 87-101 | Loss | -107 | 9 h 48 m | Show |
The Lakers are a make shift team without an identity. The 76ers have been getting the reputation as a tough young team that can cause a lot of havoc if you take them lightly. If you've been watching their games carefully, you'll see the movement around the ball to resemble a college or high school level unselfishness where a basket means more than the person scoring it. Take the 76ers to win with only one purpose while the Lakers play under the pressure of trying to keep their own jobs. |
|||||||
03-22-15 | Miami Heat v. Oklahoma City Thunder -3 | Top | 75-93 | Win | 100 | 2 h 11 m | Show |
The Thunder have everything to play for at home against the Heat. The home court proves big here as Miami gets drowned out of a game that will slip out of their hands. The Heat are too soft and inconsistent to depend on scoring with the West. The Thunder attacks and stays alive in the playoff race. The Heat leave town with an L. |
|||||||
03-21-15 | Chicago Bulls -2 v. Detroit Pistons | Top | 91-107 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 5 m | Show |
I know the number is moving from -2 to -3 but it's still worth it if you can't buy it back down to -2. Bookmaker is keeping it at -2 for another short while but I'm sure it will move as well. Anyone watching how Nikola Mirotic has completely taken charge and become a dependable star in his own right? This guy has blossomed and is turning heads at the right time. The Bulls need the help to continue pushing for home court advantage as they remain above the Raptors and Wizards who are hot on their tails. It's time for the Pistons to face reality. The team doesn't have the scorers and the ability to climb back into the playoff picture at 6.5 games behind the 8th place Celtics, especially with the 9th seeded Pacers making a strong case for the last spot. The Pistons are dejected and the tap on their shoulder will be coming soon for them to join the bandwagon of teams that are ruining the integrity of the game as too many organizations decide to tank and improve their likelihood of moving up in the draft lottery. It doesn't matter how many players on the Bulls have to sit for extended periods of time after playing yesterday. The team plays with mental toughness and they'll come out with more purpose to roll over the deflated Pistons. Take the Bulls. |
|||||||
03-20-15 | Indiana Pacers +11.5 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | Top | 92-95 | Win | 100 | 9 h 1 m | Show |
We're looking at max effort coming from the Pacers tonight with the suspicion that the Cavs will take their foot off the gas for a backdoor cover. 11.5 points is a lot for a team that can defend the way the Pacers do. This game shows how ready Indiana is to transition into the post-season if they squeak by. They've dropped 3 in a row but still stand at 13 wins in their last 18. Take the points with Indiana. |
|||||||
03-18-15 | Washington Wizards v. Utah Jazz -3.5 | Top | 88-84 | Loss | -103 | 11 h 45 m | Show |
There are only a few rock solid teams right now in the NBA. This has been an unprecedented season where tanking and resting has poisoned the integrity of the league. Enough is enough. It's time to stick close to teams playing solid ball and there's no denying that the best team right now in the league doing that are the Utah Jazz. We have them at home where they've been for the last week and a half just brutalizing their opponents.  The defense is allowing 39.9 percent shooting in their last five games. Everyone is buying in, the team is in a zone that we need and crave. This is winning basketball. The Wizards may have seen some resurgence after an awful slide but they've lost 9 in a row on the road.  The Jazz have won 6 in a row and 13-3 in their last 16. Rudy Gobert is averaging 17.8 rebounds in March. The team is playing quality basketball and have historically owned one of the best home court advantages the league has to offer. Take the Jazz with confidence to cover the spread.  |
|||||||
03-17-15 | Charlotte Hornets v. Los Angeles Clippers -10 | Top | 92-99 | Loss | -109 | 13 h 34 m | Show |
We went against the Hornets yesterday and we'll have to double dip today. The Hornets only managed to score 66 off 29.5% shooting. Al Jefferson and Kemba Walker will need more time to be game ready and playing against Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan inside will be more than tough on Big Al while Chris Paul runs circles around Kemba. Charlotte is 0-4 ATS in LA and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 between them. You've got two completely different teams in completely different swings. LA is rested and motivated to grab 2 quick wins off lesser opponents following 2 losses to the Rockets and Mavs. Charlotte needs a practice session and two days of rest in order to grab victories in two winnable upcoming games in Sactown and Minnesota. Charlotte falls behind here and fails to catch up. Take the Clippers to win by 10+ |

03-16-15 | Toronto Raptors v. Indiana Pacers -5 | Top | 117-98 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 24 m | Show |
We're looking at the Raptors coming off a home loss to the Blazers on Sunday while the Pacers look to play their 4th at home with a day of rest between each game. The Raptors are having major issues on the defensive end with 9 teams in a row posting triple digits on them with relative ease. After losing 5 of 6 and getting sub-par performances from key players like Kyle Lowry and Amir Johnson yesterday, they face a tough task of going into Indiana to face a team on a major upswing. The confidence is very high for the Pacers who've won 7 in a row before the hiccup at home to a pesky Celtics team. The promise of getting back Paul George in time for the end of the regular season puts this team back into the top tier of the Eastern Conference and they're playing like it. A line of -4.5 or even -5 is a solid number in this spot. Pacers are 9-2 in their last 11 at home and sporting the 3rd ranked defense compared to a slipping Raptor team ranked at 22. Take Indiana to win 5% of your bankroll! |

03-15-15 | Denver Nuggets v. New Orleans Pelicans -7 | Top | 118-111 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 5 m | Show |
Denver had to play two of their biggest games of the season resulting in wins over the two best teams in the league (GSW, ATL) in back to back games. This all happened while the Pelicans recharged with 4 days off. Both teams have won 3 in a row but Denver's wins were at home and it's obvious to anyone that this team isn't elite, but they can cause upsets at home. The road is a different story at 9-22. The Pelicans are 22-11 at home and 20-13 ATS at home. Denver is playing without Randy Foye, Darrell Arthur and Wilson Chandler. Ty Lawson should be back in the lineup but this is a classic letdown spot on the road for a team coming off two massive wins. The Nuggets fall in New Orleans by 7+. |
|||||||
03-12-15 | Houston Rockets -2 v. Utah Jazz | Top | 91-109 | Loss | -102 | 10 h 58 m | Show |
Let's keep in mind that although the Rockets are coming into this one having played last night, the team was off for 3 days of rest prior and another 2 days of rest following this one. There's plenty in the tank for a team that knows how to handle lesser opponents with lower scoring outputs. Houston took care the the Jazz by 11 and 15 points respectively in the two games they've played against each other this season. Trey Burke is a necessary piece of Utah's basic gameplan and without him shooting at his full potential (only 29% in his last 5 games), the Jazz will have a lot of difficulty making up for it with Dante Exum and Elijah Millsap. The team ranks 26th in scoring and is 14-16 at home. The linesmakers posted too low of a line with Houston originally as a 1 point dog and now a 2 point favorite because of the game yesterday and the altitude in Utah. The Jazz are playing well but the offense is slow paced and allows for Houston to keep up until they turn it up and leave the Jazz in their dust. The loss for the Rockets last night helps us out in our wager here with Houston going 17-5 ATS after a straight up loss and 20-7 after an ATS loss. Hayward sat out the last game and will most likely give it a go here but Houston's quickness and urgency to remain in the thick of the Western conference playoff picture as they fight for home court advantage will be too much for Utah to handle. |

03-11-15 | Atlanta Hawks -6 v. Denver Nuggets | Top | 102-115 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 3 m | Show |
The Hawks are 20-9 on the road and an even more impressive 20-8 ATS on the road. Denver is supposed to own a major advantage at home with the altitude but it's just not a factor for such a porous defense. The Atlanta Hawks can perform a surgical procedure on the Nuggets with the way they've been moving the ball and slicing through traffic. They'll cut this team apart if they want to. A -6 can easily be surpassed in game that should end in a double digit rout. Atlanta has had the day of rest in Denver to get their legs ready for the game. Denver is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 at home. The Hawks are simply too good to pass up as they get their 8th win in 9 and continue to steamroll through the NBA. |
|||||||
03-09-15 | Sacramento Kings v. Atlanta Hawks -11 | Top | 105-130 | Win | 100 | 5 h 19 m | Show |
Atlanta Hawks simply dominate at home with a 29-4 record and look for win #50 tonight. After resting Korver, Caroll and Millsap in a loss to the Sixers, you can expect a healthy squad to take command of a 27th ranked defense in the Kings. 8-21 on the road doesn't help either for a team that lacks consistency and depends on a big man (Cousins) that gets countered heavily tonight by the Atlanta frontcourt. I'm recommending the -10 at a 1 point buy but I still back this pick at -11 for the same risk. Take the Hawks to win by 12+. |
|||||||
03-08-15 | Boston Celtics -1.5 v. Orlando Magic | Top | 98-103 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 57 m | Show |
I'm siding with the offense that is ranked 12th in the league over one that is 25th. The Celtics have covered 7 of the last 9 times they've played each other. Boston plays better and is coached better. Orlando is 1-5 but they're relieved to finally have won a game by beating the Kings. The talk of next year's draft class is starting to heat up and the Magic want in on the action. This is not a playoff team and they'll need more fresh talent to build up this roster. The Celtics don't need to worry about draft picks; they've got plenty of them. It's on Boston to establish a winning culture and a winning attitude once again and they're doing just that. Boston gives us the best pick today but we're playing it at a lower than usual risk. GO for the Celtics at -1 if you can with a half point buy to win 1.2 units or a 1.2% return on your total bankroll investment. SportsAtari |

03-06-15 | Phoenix Suns +2.5 v. Brooklyn Nets | Top | 108-100 | Win | 100 | 7 h 3 m | Show |
I'm calling the Suns because they played well in their last game, Brandon Knight got in a groove and is willing to run at full speed with this team. Look for the simple gameplan of tiring out one of the slowest teams in the league in the Brooklyn Nets. Getting 3 points here is great so grab it up if you can. The Suns should win outright and build momentum as they continue to believe in themselves while the Nets continue to stay parked in mediocrity and patience until the team and players are sold off or tossed aside. |
|||||||
03-06-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Atlanta Hawks +2 | Top | 97-106 | Win | 100 | 7 h 48 m | Show |
This is the big game and it's happening tonight at 7:35pm. I'm going to keep this write-up short and sweet because you can pile on the attractive stats or trends for either team. It comes down to a few key factors. The Hawks at home are just deadly at 28-4. The defense is strong at holding opponents under 100 for 5 straight, all of which were wins for Atlanta. Mozgov and Love don't stand a chance under the basket against Horford and Milsap in terms of rebounds and second chance opportunities. Carroll's defense on Lebron should frustrate an already disgruntled superstar who feels that opponents are fouling him too hard or playing too rough against him. Poor Lebron. The Cavs are hot but the team is not a solid as Atlanta's core that has been groomed for this type of matchup and a season where they can go far. The Cavs are in the middle of 4 games in 5 nights with 2 back to backs in a row. Atlanta played only 1 game in 5 days with this game circled on their calendars. Take the Hawks. |
|||||||
03-05-15 | Oklahoma City Thunder -1.5 v. Chicago Bulls | Top | 105-108 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 55 m | Show |
Take OKC in this one and expect the fire to continue burning hot. The Bulls struggle against a dynamic opponent on a huge mission to stay in the playoff race and position themselves as one of the most feared teams under Westbrook at the helm. The Bulls keep their lineup tight with Jimmy Butler getting monster minutes night in and night out. The team can handle life without Rose again and the on and off issues with Taj Gibson, but it's Butler that's created the biggest gap in a game where the Thunder continue to stay fired up and knock over the home team. The Thunder should cover the -1.5 and enjoy the next 2 days off on a high note while the Bulls balance their minutes to keep enough in the tank for the surging Pacers in Indiana tomorrow. |

03-04-15 | Phoenix Suns -4 v. Orlando Magic | Top | 105-100 | Win | 100 | 10 h 47 m | Show |
Daily Reports March 4th, 2015 We started the season off at SportsAtari going 18-4, 21-7 and we're now witnessing one of the most strangest time periods I've ever been a part of in the NBA.  This is not going to be a 72-38 season like 2012 or 81-51 like last year that amassed a total of +167.24 units. The 2013 season  was also rocky and ended at 93-89 for a total of +30 units. We're definitely closer to 2013 projections now than 2012 or 2014 but we're still on track for a decent profit if we keep pushing and staying hungry. It's absolutely on me to deliver the results that are expected of these reports. I take full blame but I'm left bewildered at how much the stats and trends fall apart during gameplay. I need to get off the numbers and focus more on what makes me a winning NBA capper. I know this game inside out and it's time to get back to it as a player and coach. The trends are simply out of whack and the multitude of trades that happened at the deadline also threw a wrench in the predictability of some teams that I follow closely. Nevertheless, we have to shake it off and stay emotionless to wins and losses. I know these two teams extremely well and I'm going to recommend a very strong wager on the Suns today at -3 with a 1 point buy. NBA: 71-53-4 NBA PLAY OF THE DAY Phoenix Suns -3 (-118) 1 pt. buy as of 8:55am ET)  Risking 12.32 units to win 10.44 units  7:05pm start There was an upswing in effort and overall confidence in their ability when the Magic welcomed James Borrego as their new coach. Now the doubt is starting to creep its way back in as the Magic have started to become complacent and confused about the shift in their focus from a loose and active team of gunners to a defense first halfcourt team concentrating way too much on their star center. The Magic rank 26th in scoring offense. The word is that Borrego will be forced to shake up the lineup and hope that a few untested adjustments will allow the Magic to turn things around.  Phoenix comes in with an attitude and a sense of urgency. The team is angry but remain determined to make a strong push for the 8th seed in the West. Chances are, this team will fall out of the race later this month but the moment is ripe and the possibility is highly absorbed and believed by the team that they can make noise in the West if they keep it together and use their talent under quality coaching. Most coaches can't possibly push their players to the limit every single game and they can't paint a picture of a dire need for a win every night but this IS the night where the brakes come off and Hornacek gets his team in full gear. The loss to Miami was frustrating but the team will use it as fuel to get out of Florida with a statement win. The West will take notice tonight that the Suns can't be counted out. There are simply too many scorers, slashers and outlet options for this team to get out ahead. This is a team that has 5 players averaging double digits in scoring. Phoenix is 28th in scoring defense but the Magic are slumping hard on the offensive end at 89.7 ppg in their last 7 games. The Suns are 3rd in the league in scoring at 105.7 a game while the Magic sit at 24th in scoring defense. I wouldn't risk so much on this if I didn't believe that the line was off and that the Suns should win by over 5 points. I'm only taking the -3 because its cheap right now but if you want to stick with -3.5 or -4 then go ahead for the same risk. The Suns are the best bet to make so far this week and in the past 30 days. Take Phoenix with confidence. |

03-01-15 | Philadelphia 76ers +12.5 v. Indiana Pacers | Top | 74-94 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 12 m | Show |
The 76ers come out to play every night and they aren't getting blown out the way linesmakers expect. A 9-3-1 ATS record in their last 13 shows how they're being undervalued with too many points thrown at them on a nightly basis. 12.5 is a bunch here and I'm recommending a play on these young guys to continue playing for each other and with each other to remain composed and finish off strong even if they play from behind the entire way. A backdoor cover is alive and well here so look closer and see that Philly is 6-2 ATS against the Pacers and will be trying to rally for 2 in a row after beating up the Wizards with great defense and ball movement. It's hard to assess the effort level and style of play for the Sixers which catches many teams off guard. Most teams walk away with the win so they don't need to be concerned about the fact that they didn't cover the spread when they won. Philly keeps it within 7-12 points. Grab the 12.5 being offered or buy back up to 12.5. SportsAtari has your back. Looking forward to continuing our work together. SportsAtari |

02-28-15 | Memphis Grizzlies -4.5 v. Minnesota Timberwolves | Top | 101-97 | Loss | -115 | 19 h 36 m | Show |
Memphis is a steal at -4.5 right now and a -3.5 with a 1 point buy that I'm grabbing at -133 odds. We'll keep it at -4.5 officially but you know I like the extra point to take the clear advantage. Speaking of clear advantages, Memphis owns the edge in every major statistical category in this matchup over the Timberwolves. Both teams played yesterday and did poorly. Both teams need a bounceback game but none more so than the Grizzlies who have no room for losses against much weaker competition as they fight for the top spot in the West and in the league overall. Expect the visiting team to simply dominate on the defensive end to force the Wolves to repeat their dismal scoring output last night when they could only muster up 89 against the Bulls. The Grizzlies also need much more production after 8 games where they haven't been able to crack 100 points. Also keep in mind that they went into Minnesota earlier this month and lost 89-90 because of a tough scheduling situation and a general attitude that they could just waltz in and grab the easy W. Nothing is easy and no team should be taken lightly. You see how we took all the points with the Sixers last night and watched them hang the Wizards out to dry for the 8 pt. outright win. Memphis knows that there's an extra spark in Minnesota with the arrival of Kevin Garnett but the truth is that they gave up a really good player in Thaddeus Young who provides the depth in scoring after nights when Martin and Rubio log in major minutes like they did last night in Chicago. After a 4 game road trip and a quick return home to face the Clippers 4 days after beating them in their own court, it was an expected disaster and one that is needed from time to time for a top tier team like Memphis. Look for the Grizzlies to shake it off against the second worst defense in the league, cover the small number and improve to 42-16 for the season.  I look forward to hearing from you anytime. Let's work through the rest of the NBA together and show how well we can dominate March and April. Your Capper, SportsAtari |

02-23-15 | Brooklyn Nets -1.5 v. Denver Nuggets | Top | 110-82 | Win | 100 | 13 h 26 m | Show |
This is great spot for the Nets to pick up a win on a short spread. They've played one game so far out of the break where the offense was clicking and the team looked recharged and refocused moving forward. They own the 8th spot and will fight to keep it. Denver on the other hand has played 2 games already scoring only 81 on the Bucks and got outright destroyed by the Thunder who hung 119 on them and beat them by 25 points yesterday. Ty Lawson doesn't want to be playing for this team and is annoyed that he didn't get traded as he was fined for not showing up on time after the break. Denver doesn't seem know left from right and the rebuilding process is looking more like a demolition process. The team is in a funk on and off the court. They'll return home after 2 away while the Nets wait for them in Denver after 2 days off to get adjusted. This makes the usual home court altitude advantage for the Nuggets actually play against them this time around. Brooklyn has improved with the acquisition of Thaddeus Young and they have a group of guys with a renewed intention to win and compete in the post-season. The Nets hold onto a glimmer of identity and hope while the Nuggets simply go through the motions until it's time to blow the team up. Go with the Nets to sweep the season series and reach 7-2 ATS record over the Nuggets in their last 9. This is your NBA GAME OF THE NIGHT! |

02-10-15 | Denver Nuggets +2.5 v. Los Angeles Lakers | Top | 106-96 | Win | 100 | 13 h 43 m | Show |
The wrong team is favored in my opinion when you see a deeper and more experienced Denver team that can drop 41 points in a quarter over the OKC Thunder yesterday. Sure they play a back-to-back but this is it for them. GO all out tonight and enjoy the next 9 days off. The Lakers on the other hand are desperate for the break but will have to endure a situation where they return home after 4 on the road this month in the East which is never a good spot for decent teams in this league. Without Ronnie Price and Jordan Hill, the team is looking thinner than ever and looking for answers from young guys who hope to have a hot shooting night to give them a shot at winning. Also add in the fact that the Lakers STILL can't move into the break after this game and must preserve something in the tank for their back-to-back in Portland tomorrow. While both teams will be looking at the draft lottery, the Nuggets are much further removed from the top pick and the Lakers know that tanking is the only way to go. LA gets caught in a rough spot while the offensively talented Nuggets give it one final push to head into the break with a much needed win after dropping 6 in a row. Denver should be a -1 here but if you're giving me +2.5 or +3 for a cheap price, then I'll take it and I advise you to do the same on this thin schedule for 3 units. |

02-08-15 | Indiana Pacers +1 v. Charlotte Hornets | Top | 103-102 | Win | 100 | 8 h 15 m | Show |
Daily Reports February 8th, 2015 Perfect ending for us as we backed the Mavericks and watched them shut down the Blazers with 2 minutes left in the 4th and a dominant OT win. Incredible ending. We've got a strong one today with the Pacers. This is exactly the kind of play we need to build some momentum. Pacers own a massive edge in momentum and positioning, not too mention ppg, fg%, ft%, rebounding and a better contributing bench. NBA PLAY OF THE DAY Indiana Pacers +1 (112) Risking 7.28 units to win 6.5 units 6pm start 1 unit = 1% of your bankroll The Pacers are coming off back to back wins over the Cavs and Pistons and we're getting a glimpse of a team that used to have all the pieces to make a strong push in the Eastern Conference. Without Paul George in the mix, the team is just trying to stay in the race. Now that George is hopeful to return in March, the mission is clear for this team: Stay competitive and fight for a shot at the playoffs. 2.5 games back isn't much for a team that has an identity,, knows how to win and believes in a coach that has the ear of his players. Charlotte is a lot more sensitive to the week to week changes in their persona. Without Kemba Walker, Bismack Biyombo and if Micheal Kidd-Gilchrist isn't fit to go with his hamstring injury, you've got a thin line that continues to fight without a cause. They played with no inspiration or intention in an 89-81 loss to Philly and the quick turnaround to play in less than 20 hours of rest puts them in a tough spot at home. Indiana will be met by a tough defense at first, but as long as their tempo dictates the pace of the game late into the second half, then we'll see the more seasoned team come out on top and to maintain their momentum as they climb the ranks. Take Indiana for a strong play valued at 6.5 units. |

02-06-15 | Philadelphia 76ers +7 v. Boston Celtics | Top | 96-107 | Loss | -103 | 9 h 48 m | Show |
Both teams come off victories over the Denver Nuggets with the 76ers getting 2 days of rest while Boston only got 1. Both teams also face a back-to-back situation with the Bucks up next for Boston on the road and the Hornets for the Sixers at home. The line should be around -4 or -5 for Boston with the way both teams are playing. Philly is in the best groove they've been on all season so now is the time to have the confidence in them to make a game of this and keep it within a generous 8 points for anything under -130. Buy the point or take the +7 for a 2.5 or 3 unit play. |

02-05-15 | Dallas Mavericks -2 v. Sacramento Kings | Top | 101-78 | Win | 100 | 14 h 59 m | Show |
Dallas has no room to mess around. The team is stacked full of bodies that can score the ball at ease but they got hit hard by the hot hand of Golden State who delivered the same offensive outburst on the Sacramento Kings the day before. The Kings have lost 9 of 10 are not playing enough defense to limit a team like Dallas who's in the thick of the Western conference playoff shuffle. The Kings are all but done at this point and a spread of -2 to simply allow the Mavs the opportunity to split their California road trip with a straight up win and a cover is a good look for us on Thursday. |
|||||||
02-02-15 | Charlotte Hornets +7.5 v. Washington Wizards | Top | 92-88 | Win | 100 | 6 h 6 m | Show |
We're catching the Wizards at the right time as they're regressing and looking for answers. They have the ability to win quality games despite going 12-12 in their last 24 and losers of 2 in a row. The 4 game road trip saw them playing 4 games in 5 nights on a double back-to-back against teams like Denver, the Lakers and Phoenix who all like to get out and run hard. Then they come home and face a grueling game that goes into overtime in a loss to the Raptors. The Hawks are on deck with another back-to-back to look forward to. John Wall didn't participate in shootaround and isn't likely to start or play tonight. If he does, he may even hinder the offense on a rough night where everyone on the team is missing an extra bounce in their step. Washington can win here but the linesmakers have given them too much respect for a team that's on an 0-6 ATS run. Charlotte is getting production all around and feeling good about making statements here that a balanced effort can replace the dependence on Kemba Walker who was trying to do way too much on his own. After a dominant 104-86 win over the Nuggets, you can see how much they'd like to carry that momentum forward. They get 2 days off after this one and welcome the Wizards again who'll be coming off their next back-to-back after traveling to Atlanta. Take Charlotte at +8 and you've got a great number. The +7.5 is also fine but if you're getting a +8 for less than -129 then look into the grabbing the extra security. |

01-31-15 | Portland Trail Blazers -1.5 v. Milwaukee Bucks | Top | 88-95 | Loss | -113 | 14 h 58 m | Show |
SportsAtari's Daily Reports January 31st, 2015
Zaza Pachulia was not available in the last game the Bucks played against the Magic on Thursday but they pulled it together like teams usually do the next day after a key player goes down. He felt a pop in his calf and will need more time to recover. Don't expect him in the lineup but expect him to be sorely missed.
Portland has lost 7 of 9 on a very tough schedule against the league's best teams (excluding a 1pt. loss to Boston). They took the Hawks down to the 4th but weren't able to finish the job. This is why I hate taking Portland on spreads larger than -2. They can win games but 24-22 ATS this season is not going to make you want to take them as a large favorite.

01-28-15 | Boston Celtics v. Minnesota Timberwolves +5 | Top | 98-110 | Win | 100 | 7 h 23 m | Show |
Ok here's the deal. Both teams are junk but the Celtics have a chip on their shoulder and getting solid production from some of their more experienced players in Avery Bradley, Evan Turner and Tayshaun Prince. The problem here is that this team is fully invested in draft picks coming out of their ears. The fans know it and the management knows it too. The team needs to pull back. The veterans need to hang back and give more time to the young guys. The team needs to lose more games in order to provide a higher value to all their upcoming picks. Now comes the situation: Boston has been playing 2 back-to-backs in a row, 4 games in 5 nights and their 6th game in a row on the road in the Western conference. They're spent. They're done. It's time to go home. Minnesota on the other hand covered 2 large spreads in a row over the Hawks and Thunder but hold 5 losses in a row. They are well within their tanking quota for this month. This team needs a win and they'll do so by slowing the game down to work through their big men Pekovic and Dieng. Young and Wiggins provide the spark to keep the team competitive at home vs. Boston and to stay within 5 with a higher than normal probability to win the game outright due to catching their opponent at the right time. Go home Boston. Your fans want you to lose and so do we. |

01-27-15 | Memphis Grizzlies +5.5 v. Dallas Mavericks | Top | 109-90 | Win | 100 | 11 h 19 m | Show |
The road weary Mavericks have played 6 of 8 on the road, land back home to take on the mighty Girzzlies only to hit the road again tomorrow to face the Houston Rockets of all teams. We're supposed to be worried about the back-to-back with the Grizzlies that let their foot off the gas last night at home to Orlando where they've played 5 in a row in the comfort of their own bed at night? 10 players were given quality minutes with no one going overboard. These guys are ready and we're getting +5.5 points? Take the incorrect line on the Grizzlies. Take advantage of it by grabbing another half point. |

01-24-15 | Detroit Pistons -2 v. Milwaukee Bucks | Top | 86-101 | Loss | -103 | 11 h 52 m | Show |
The Pistons come in with 2 days rest while the Bucks are at home with with one day off. Both teams face a back-to-back on the road with the Bucks in San Antonio and the Pistons in Toronto. Detroit is up 12 of 15 and sees the return of Brandon Jennings to his former team at the right time while he and his current team is still smoking hot. Jennings is incredibly streaky and he's on another level right now and I expect that to continue in Milwaukee. The Pistons are finding the bottom of the net with triple digit outputs 7 out of their last 11. Detroit is 7-1 ATS on the road while the Bucks are 2-6 ATS at home. Detroit has failed to cover 5 in a row over the Bucks and lost to them twice already this season when they were a heaping pile of trash early on. This is a rejuvenated team that has crossed over the hot streak and firmly planted themselves in the East as a consistent threat on a nightly basis. The spread is low and the Pistons own the edge here. Take the road team that has gone 9-3 ATS in the last 12 games between them. SportsAtari |

01-23-15 | Orlando Magic -2 v. New York Knicks | Top | 106-113 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 18 m | Show |
The Magic are healthy and in attack mode. The Knicks are stale, dry and making terrible offensive decisions. Every player gets motivated to play under the bright lights in Madison Square Garden and the young Magic are no exception. I called the Sixers a bunch of young pitbulls but the Magic are bottom feeding vultures looking to have their way with the lower tier teams in the league. Vucevic and Harris are getting 19 and 18 points apiece and the electric charge of Oladipo gives the Magic the balance they need to spread out the floor for shooters like Channing Frye or Evan Fournier to get hot. Even Elfrid Payton can be dangerous is this setting where no one from the Knicks can defend the perimeter right now. New York needs to balance out the minutes on a terrible roster in order to have anything left in the tank (no pun intended) to travel to Charlotte after the game and face the Hornets tomorrow while the Magic get the day off. Take Orlando at -2. |

01-21-15 | New York Knicks +1 v. Philadelphia 76ers | Top | 98-91 | Win | 100 | 11 h 57 m | Show |
Wow. Both teams are just straight garbage. The Knicks and 76ers square off in Tank City, the capital of Tank Nation. Seriously speaking, both teams are interested in the top draft pick in a much more realistic acceptance of obtaining this prize over anything remotely related to a championship. Let's just throw away the numbers for a second here or go look them up easily on plenty of sites. I want to just open up about what I know and what I'm seeing here. Mbah a Moute and Wroten are sorely missed on a team that needs the support of every player in terms of quality minutes and points on the board. Michael Carter-Williams had a rough one in his last outing and as much as he's taken on at a young age, he can't be the man just yet. It's fun watching the 76ers play on their good nights. They play as a team and they move the ball well. Now come the Knicks. Exactly the opposite. There is no team ball but only a bunch of sorry pieces to a puzzle that exemplifies the epitome of a garbage pile roster in the NBA. The difference here is that Carmelo can still be the man on insignificant nights like tonight. When we're talking about games that matter however, Anthony is nowhere to be found. The desire to string 2 wins together (until the next big losing streak hits them) is a motivating factor far exceeding anything else for a team of egos and emptiness. In their struggle for relevancy and meaning, the Knicks will get fired up and confident to hit open players quality shots in a close or large win. The moneyline here is just as good or even a -1. New York finally turns over their engine with a puff of smoke and sound of a gunshot out of the exhaust pipe in that rusty piece of junk they call a team. The engine roars loudly enough to hold back a group of young pitbulls for tonight. Then it cuts off. The Knicks will continue to push their dead team into the draft lottery with the hope of major repairs and a massive detailing job. Give me the Knicks tonight and get them out of my face after that.  The worst NYK ever. Pat on the back boys. You beat the Sixers. Let's roll. |

01-20-15 | San Antonio Spurs -7 v. Denver Nuggets | Top | 109-99 | Win | 100 | 18 h 12 m | Show |
Denver at home usually makes it difficult to go against them if they're underdogs over 4 or 5 points. The Spurs come in as 7 point favorites and I believe the line is too low. I normally dislike betting on the Spurs but you have to recognize the moments where they're about to shine a light once again on a league that is looking past them. This is the national spotlight night with only 2 games on the board. Denver played last night in Oakland but I'm not sure if you can call that playing. They definitely didn't play much defense giving up 122 but we can expect that from the Nuggets who like to run the scores up. Sadly for them, they only got 79 points on offense and need to fly back into town to deal with the Spurs who've caught their second wind. Winners of 3 in a row and 5 of 6, the Spurs welcome back Kawhi Leonard and balance out the minutes on a deep team that continues to buy into a system that wins games and championships. They held the Jazz to 69 points and won by 20 2 nights ago after defeating the Blazers by 14 before that. It's incredible to see how many players contribute with their big 4 healthy and fresh for this one. The Spurs have been in Denver and waiting for the home team to arrive and the struggle will continue to the Nuggets. Take the Spurs by 7, buy half a point if the line moves away. Spurs should win by 8+. |

01-19-15 | Toronto Raptors -1 v. Milwaukee Bucks | Top | 92-89 | Win | 100 | 13 h 4 m | Show |
Let's look at this closely without resting heavily on stats. Sure the Raptors aren't performing nearly as well as they were at the start of the season but that was expected. The team has been working DeRozan back into the lineup but they're playing too stagnant on defense. Watch the Raptors roll into Milwaukee with a chip on their shoulder and the extra confidence of playing against a team they've beaten 5 in a row including a 124-82 beatdown on November 21st. Kendall Marshall goes out with an ACL tear in London to join Jabari Parker on the season ending injury list. Larry Sanders is still out with his 10 game suspension. The Raptors perform exceptionally well in situations where they match up against defensive minded teams. Milwaukee is completely out of their groove after a huge break with a visit to London and only 1 game in 8 days. If they were at home and training hard for the second half of the season, then I'd say it was a solid break for them. This is nothing of the sort. Going to Europe in the middle of the season in a game where they weren't even challenged against a team that doesn't even deserve to even be mentioned is not going to bode well for the home team. The Raptors need to come out attacking and physically battle it out to prevent a similar, devastating loss like the one they had on Sunday afternoon. The Bucks were busy eating cheese and watching the Packers lose to the Seahawks while the Raptors were working on building up the unit that damaged so many opponents this season. I'm tired of seeing large spreads on Toronto. This is a good line. Grab the Raptors to do what needs to be done. No messing around in Milwaukee. Win and move on. |

01-17-15 | Washington Wizards -4 v. Brooklyn Nets | Top | 99-90 | Win | 100 | 14 h 45 m | Show |
You better believe Washington is going to get their immediate revenge here against Brooklyn. Every team will have their day and Brooklyn did just that with an inspired Brook Lopez trying to showcase his talent to interested teams and Jarrett Jack having one if his occasional bursts. The Wizards recognized the situation early in the second half and started pulling starters to keep them fresh for the second game of a home and home set with the Nets. Washington is a deeper team and were able to get their reserves out for quality minutes in the upset loss last night. The Nets exhausted more minutes out of their veterans and they'll be due for a letdown at home where they're currently 0-5 ATS. I'm really happy that my pick on the Wizards last night failed. The Bulls were the top play and a 3-3 night is alright after a 5-0 night earlier this week. There have been plenty of NBA picks this week and I'm very pleased to offer the one pick to top them all. We're sticking with only 1 solid NBA pick today and we're attacking it for everything it's worth. THIS IS THE NBA GAME OF THE MONTH! |
|||||||
01-16-15 | Atlanta Hawks +1.5 v. Toronto Raptors | Top | 110-89 | Win | 100 | 12 h 20 m | Show |
Atlanta is busy making history. They put the fear in other teams in the East and everyone has to be on their A game if they stand a chance to defeat such a balanced team. This is a record breaking run with the Hawks being able to tie their longest win streak in 17 years (11) while also grabbing 10 on the road. They're 22-6 ATS on the road! The Hawks are a money train right now and we have to stay on against the Raptors who continue to adjust with Derozan back in the lineup. This is going to be close but we've got the right side. Take the Hawks. |
|||||||
01-15-15 | Oklahoma City Thunder +1.5 v. Houston Rockets | Top | 101-112 | Loss | -102 | 12 h 9 m | Show |
Does anyone remember the ugly 69-65 win by Houston on November 16th when both teams met in OKC? The Thunder were without Westbrook and Durant and now they have their chance to prove something big. It's a marquee matchup on a Thursday night with only 3 games on the board. OKC gets the spotlight to resume their quest for legitimacy and supremacy over an extremely competitive conference. It's rare to see one team with 5 days off after a home win against a team playing a back-to-back. The linesmakers are giving Houston too much respect after a night where they overplayed only 8 players and got dusted 120-113 in Orlando. Houston's schedule has been ridiculous with a trip to New York on the second night of a back-to-back, then a quick dash home to play the Jazz and back out to New York to play the Nets. Then they fly down to Orlando and deal with another back-to-back with the Warriors on deck. The Thunder also have to deal with Golden State up next but they won't be looking ahead. The team itself is unified with a sense of purpose and the significance of a practice week at this crucial time in the season should produce an effort on both sides of the ball that we've been waiting to see all season. The unfortunate injuries to Westbrook and Durant allowed for the rest of the team to build confidence and recognize their value on a team that needs its role players to step up. The setting and situation is right for a strong play on OKC to win the game. The +1.5 is unnecessary. OKC wins by 2-10 points. |
|||||||
01-14-15 | Washington Wizards +6 v. Chicago Bulls | Top | 105-99 | Win | 100 | 13 h 43 m | Show |
Washington did have to deal with San Antonio yesterday and will find an angry Bulls team that needs to lock down on defense after giving up 120 to Orlando. The Wizards are amped and focused on legitimacy and supremacy but the Bulls are the one of two gatekeepers in the East (ATL is the other of course). The Wizards don't have to win but if you're going to bet on this game like I am, you have to take the 6 points being offered. If the Bulls manage to successfully keep the score very low with a max defensive effort, then the odds of a close game increase dramatically. If the ball is pushed, then the open court plays into Washington's hands. Take the Wizards and the points. |
|||||||
01-13-15 | Golden State Warriors -7.5 v. Utah Jazz | Top | 116-105 | Win | 100 | 10 h 33 m | Show |
The official pick of the day is Golden State FIRST HALF -3 or -4. I'm personally betting on the 1st half only. This is a straight up gift at -3 and a solid pick at -4. I'm risking more for the -3 but still recommend the -4 for the same value if you don't want to buy the point. Golden State has been comfortable at home for 6 wins in a row averaging 118 points for this streak. They've had 3 days off to get ready for Utah, a place where they've gone 5-2 ATS in their last 7. Utah returns home from a tough 3 game road trip averaging 91 points in that span. The extra day off pays well for Golden State who will surely score 3 or more points better than the Jazz in the first half. The Warriors have to get the early jump on Utah to allow for the starters to sit down in the second half to stay fresh for their back-to-back situation in Miami tomorrow. It's a simple pick that should simply pay out 5 units. |
|||||||
01-12-15 | Houston Rockets -6.5 v. Brooklyn Nets | Top | 113-99 | Win | 100 | 12 h 31 m | Show |
Rockets are the real deal while the Nets are a disaster. Houston is up 4 of 5 with a 101.5 avg. and giving up 96.8. The Nets have dropped 5 in a row with a 95.5 avg. and giving up 97.7. It's the offensive touch that hasn't faded for the Rockets with their deadly long ball while their defense ranks #3 in the league.  Houston has a team identity. One man goes down (except Harden) and it's the next man up without a hiccup in the system. There will be off nights but even an average night here for the visiting team will still surpass a 7 point win. Houston is 4-1 ATS overall and 8-3 ATS in Brooklyn. Rockets stand tall as a great play for tonight. |
|||||||
01-07-15 | Oklahoma City Thunder -7 v. Sacramento Kings | Top | 83-104 | Loss | -108 | 12 h 56 m | Show |
OKC is up 4 of 6. This is a short 2 game road trip for OKC while fading the Kings looks good as they face an opportunistic situation for bettors who know that the first home game for a team off a long road trip is a tough hurdle to climb when trying to cover a spread. The Kings get 7 points at home but they face a bloodthirsty OKC that was spanked around in Oakland and will refuse to leave the state without a big win. Kings have lost 5 of 7. They've also lost 10 in a row to OKC and allowed the Thunder to 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5. Kings are 1-9-2 at home in their last 12. The defense is porous enough to allow Westbrook and Durant to shine. |
|||||||
01-04-15 | Brooklyn Nets -2.5 v. Miami Heat | Top | 84-88 | Loss | -108 | 6 h 7 m | Show |
The Nets have been waiting for the Heat to come home after they got smacked around by the Rockets last night by a score of 115-79. Sure enough, most of the starters were pulled early and fatigue is not the issue with this back-to-back. The team needs to adjust and attack the glass. The bodies they have on the court aren't healthy or able to take this team out of last place in rebounding. 4 losses in a row. 0-4 ATS. The Nets are up 6 of 7 and going for 4 in a row. Brook Lopez and Mason Plumlee are stepping up big down low while Deron Williams is finally picking up his stride. One team gets healthy while another looks weak and ready for the All-Star break that couldn't come any sooner. Nets are 6-2 ATS in their last 8. Road team is 4-0 ATS. Give me the rested Nets that are clicking right now against a cold and beaten up Heat. AA |
|||||||
01-03-15 | Charlotte Hornets v. Orlando Magic -3.5 | Top | 98-90 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 53 m | Show |
I watched the Magic play the Nets yesterday and also the Hornets at home to the Cavs. The Magic managed their minutes and got more players involved. The team gives each member the confidence to take the open look without searching for a superstar to bail them out. The veteran leaders in Frye and Gordon are stand-up guys that any young guy would look up to and listen. Ball movement is key with a focus on transition baskets and getting the ball down the court as fast and smoothly as possible. The Hornets are clunky and confused in comparison. Everything has to go through Kemba Walker with over 40 minutes last night and a lot of wasted effort in a close loss to the Cavs. They gave their all and they'll fly into this game with more fatigue than the home team who suffered an even closer loss. Both teams played last week with the Magic winning 102-94. Orlando gets their shots off but even when they open the floor for the Hornets, Charlotte can't get enough points to win games. 86.6 points per game in their 5 game losing streak is disappointing. Losing Al Jefferson for a month is even worse. The back-to-back will affect the traveling team much more today. Give me the Magic to win by 4 or more. |
|||||||
12-30-14 | Minnesota Timberwolves +7.5 v. Utah Jazz | Top | 94-100 | Win | 100 | 11 h 47 m | Show |
This game is going to mean more for the Minnesota Timberwolves to get out of this year with a win. They'll play up to this situation to catch the Utah Jazz off guard at home. Utah comes in off a big game in LA where they competed hard against the Clippers in a fast paced game that saw them covering the 12 point spread with a 4 point loss. The quick turnaround against a team that no one cares about will make it hard for Utah to get up for this game. The Wolves have lost 8 in a row and they aren't anywhere close to being a good team. The NBA is not always about taking good teams, it's about taking the right situations. Utah is getting too many points here. Minnesota has enough offensive firepower to keep up and keep it within 7 points. The road team is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 matchups between them. Minnesota had 2 days off to prepare and arrived into Utah on the night of the 27th which makes them more acclimatized than the home team playing 20 hours after the buzzer sounded in LA. |
|||||||
12-29-14 | Milwaukee Bucks +3.5 v. Charlotte Hornets | Top | 104-94 | Win | 100 | 11 h 2 m | Show |
Kemba Walker got 42 points but saw his team hit another offensive wall to bring them back to a head scratching state with no dependable scoring balance. It's Jefferson and Walker and the former continues to feel discomfort while the latter struggles with getting his teammates involved. The Bucks had 4 ATS covers in a row going before they had the dreaded first game back home after a long road trip. It was the Hornets of all teams that took down the Bucks for the 7th time in a row.  Milwaukee responded by thrashing the Hawks 107-77 while the Hornets went back to double digit scoring outputs and 2 losses in a row. The last 2 losses in this matchup for the Bucks and been by a total of 9 points. 2 of the last 4 have been overtime games. The Bucks have a working gameplan to limit the Hornets' offensive production and win this one on the back of their stellar defense. 47.9 FG% and 41.9 3PT% in their last 5 has the Bucks in a groove. Charlotte averages 95.7 a game and gives up 100.2. They're shooting at 43.1% in their last 5. The Bucks are 5-0 ATS on the road and the road team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 matchups between these two teams. The Buck stops here. Milwaukee prevents 8 losses in a row to Charlotte. Consider the moneyline on them but I'll keep it safer with the points being offered. |
|||||||
12-28-14 | Phoenix Suns -4.5 v. Los Angeles Lakers | Top | 116-107 | Win | 100 | 10 h 49 m | Show |
The Suns are a solid look over the Lakers by 5+.  LA comes off a back-to-back through Christmas on the road and has to face a hot and fast paced team like the Suns. Phoenix has 5 in a row under them with a week of regular days off. The team is ready to roll over LA in a game that plays into their style. Phoenix wants to find open holes and they aren't necessarily good enough to make their own opportunities over top tier defensive teams. The Lakers will give the Suns plenty of opportunity to sail past them on numerous occasions. We're talking about the 30th ranked scoring defense in the league against a bunch of playmakers, speedsters and role players. The Lakers have only covered 3 of the last 10 games between them. Take the Suns. |
|||||||
12-25-14 | Washington Wizards -5 v. New York Knicks | Top | 102-91 | Win | 100 | 6 h 35 m | Show |
The Wizards and Knicks were scheduled in the first game on Christmas for a reason. Madison Square Garden on Christmas is alive but unwell. The Knicks were supposed to be a top tier team in the East and this was supposed to be a contest highlighting 2 contenders. The Knicks are plain garbage and it will have to take a red hot Carmelo Anthony and Tim Hardaway Jr from beyond the arc to keep this game close or to give them a chance for the win. That's just it with New York; they live and die by the 3 ball. Instead of working the ball inside out, they simply pull up for low percentage shots further from the basket. If it goes in, it goes in, if it doesn't, then Carmelo shakes his head and goes home to his mansion with his millions without a care in the world. Washington sits 2nd in the East and will be hungry after a tough loss to the Bulls on Tuesday. The offensive struggle is sure to be alleviated with a healthy team, playing balanced ball against a defense that is barely operational. The Bulls are a defensive machine but the Knicks are full of holes while their best defender (Shumpert) is out until the new year.  The Wizards know how to beat up on lowly teams with a 9-2 ATS record against sub .400 competition. They are also 4-0 ATS over the Knicks. Here's to the Knicks losing 6 in a row in another dismal performance. Such a sad case for the state of basketball in New York. |
|||||||
12-23-14 | New Orleans Pelicans -1 v. Indiana Pacers | Top | 84-96 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 49 m | Show |
The New Orleans Pelicans will string together a couple wins before taking the next 2 days off for Christmas. The bench production is promising for a team filled with scorers. Indiana doesn't have anyone they can depend on a nightly basis to carry the offensive load. The Pelicans have lost 6 in a row to the Pacers with 4 of those in Indiana. I strongly believe that we have the right team here to get the job done on such a short line. New Orleans has won 3 of 4 and are coming off a win in OKC. The Pacers are coming off a 3 game Western road swing and that makes this situation all the better since the first home game after a trip trends highly toward a letdown performance. The Pacers should be more sluggish and ready for their brief Christmas break. The Pelicans have no room to take their foot off the gas in the West. They're 4-0 ATS on the road and will soon make it 5. The line should be -3.5 for New Orleans, we're getting it cheap at -1 or -2. |
|||||||
12-22-14 | Denver Nuggets +2.5 v. Charlotte Hornets | Top | 82-110 | Loss | -107 | 10 h 23 m | Show |
Denver was lacking the firepower in a miserable game against the Pacers. Indiana is known for sucking the life out of a game with arguably the most boring offense in the league. 76-73, Denver walks away with the win and the loss of Gallinari to another knee injury. Faried, Chandler, Afflalo, Robinson and Lawson pack enough in the tank to break through another slow and ugly offense in Charlotte. |
|||||||
12-21-14 | Indiana Pacers v. Minnesota Timberwolves +3 | Top | 100-96 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 11 m | Show |
The Pacers just got out of Denver late last night and flew into Minnesota. We always hear about the difference thinner air in higher altitudes affects athletes. The back-to-back situation and a dismal performance from Indiana losing 76-73 puts too much doubt in their ability to bounce back tonight. The offense is brutal at 42.5% shooting while allowing more points (97.3) than they score on average (94.1). This is a rough season for Indiana. 10 losses out of 11 and a defense that isn't scaring anyone. Minnesota is also in need of a win with 4 losses in a row but they look to be in a better spot to get it. 98.3 points per game with the usual spark from time to time has this team in a better offensive position. The Timberwolves have won 3 of 5 at home. The home is getting points when it should be the other way around. Let's grab the +3 while its being offered for added security. The home team in 5-0 ATS in this matchup. Pacers are also 1-4 ATS in Minnesota. |
|||||||
12-10-14 | Miami Heat v. Denver Nuggets -3.5 | Top | 82-102 | Win | 100 | 16 h 35 m | Show |
The Heat get into an unfair situation as they have to make a quick turnaround from a fast paced game in Phoenix to the altitude up in the Denver. The speed and tempo of the game will not slow down but the aging Heat (minus Luol Deng who is used to this) will not be able to keep up. Bosh and Deng had to carry the load on offense with Wade putting in an ineffective 34 minutes of work. J.J. Hickson and Darrell Arthur will be able to make up for the loss of Faried if doesn't play tonight. Denver is hungry for a win after a surge (8 wins out of 10) that dissipated into a losing streak of 4 games. Miami is still giving up too many points at the moment even if they held the Suns to 97 last night. They've given up 107.7 a game in their 4 game slide prior to last night. Both teams need to step it up but Denver comes in rested and follows through with their speedy approach to tiring out opponents where the air is thin and the fast breaks are plentiful. Heat are 1-7 ATS in Denver. The Nuggets are 5-0 ATS at home. Take Denver at the closest possible spread you can grab. Right now it's a -3.5 and I'm on it for the NBA 'STEAL OF THE NIGHT' 15* pick. The Blazers come in off a back to back dominant performance and they face the Wolves at the right time. Minnesota scored only 86 at home to Golden State on Monday with no reliable scorers older than 20 years old. They'll be hard pressed to keep up here. I see a bad 1st or 2nd quarter putting them behind by 5 or 6 points by halftime. Take the Blazers in the first half on a -5 line if you buy the point or at -6. Portland will come out firing and will drop back to possibly allow the backdoor cover when the fatigue sets in. The Blazers are simply too deadly at the start of this game to give Minnesota a chance of going toe to toe with them. A comeback will be necessary for Minnesota in the second half where I want no part of. |

12-09-14 | New York Knicks +6.5 v. New Orleans Pelicans | Top | 93-104 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 17 m | Show |
The Knicks are an immature joke. It takes the daddy of the team (Poppa Phil) to call his children out, saying that they have a "loser's mentality" to motivate these kids.  It'll work though for tonight. The Knicks have a great shot at the outright win but I'm only interested in securing the best overall pick of the night. The defense still ranks at a respectable 12th place in the league. The offense needs work at 26th overall. The Pelicans are ranked 19th in defense and allowing opponents to shoot over 40% beyond the arc. The Knicks are trigger happy and did I mention how immature they are? They'll try to show Phil that they can play with a winning attitude at least for tonight. The Knicks are 8-2 ATS against New Orleans. Both teams have a back-to-back with the Pelicans looking ahead at a big game in the West against Dallas while the Knicks drop another stinker in San Antonio. If they want to get a win on this road trip, the time is now. Take the points on the Knicks. This is your 10* 'Gimme Points' NBA FIRE-HOT Pick of the Night! |

12-08-14 | Atlanta Hawks +1.5 v. Indiana Pacers | Top | 108-92 | Win | 100 | 11 h 54 m | Show |
First things first. I want to give you the secret play to winning a extra chunk of change tonight. 2 Team 5.5 point teaser (-120)
Handicap +7 for Game Atlanta balanced out their minutes last night and their defense is remarkable. The Pacers return home from a 0-4 road trip with their last 3 in the West. Pacers could battle it out and I expect a close result in favor of Atlanta. Getting 7 points or even 6 points on a teaser with Boston getting 14.5 or even 13.5 is great value here. Take the teaser for a strong play. 6 wins in a row for the Hawks. 103.9 points average allowing only 42.5% shooting in their last 5 games. They're holding teams under 100 pts and winning 8 in a row when doing so. Pacers are only getting 93.5 points per game and shooting a coincidental 42.5% from the floor.  Atlanta is 4-1 ATS on the road and 5-2 ATS on back-to-backs. Atlanta should win this outright. Boston should keep it within 10. Take the secret play on the Teaser and the FREE PLAY on Boston to cash 3 times tonight in the NBA. Don't forget I'm on fire in the NFL with another perfect weekend. Join me for 4 in a row tonight on Monday Night Football! |

12-06-14 | Phoenix Suns +1 v. Houston Rockets | Top | 95-100 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 35 m | Show |
Phoenix comes in with an extra spring in their step after manhandling the Dallas Mavericks last night. They make the short trip to Houston while Rockets return home late from Minnesota after an exhausting overtime thriller. The Suns look to take advantage for their 3rd win in a row. Houston is doing well without Beverley and Howard in the lineup but the starters played very heavy minutes in what should have been a cakewalk in Minnesota. Jason Terry is a vet that shouldn't be able to log in 40 minutes a game on a back-to-back but he's much needed on a thin backcourt. James Harden will have to get back on defense (Harden playing defense? if the Rockets hope to stop the Suns' speedy attack. The Suns are getting up for the big games as they're 5-1 ATS against .600+ teams. Phoenix has a strong 20-6 ATS record in Houston and will be catching them in the right opportunity to grab the outright win and the cover. Phoenix is the play here and it's a good one. |

12-05-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder -12.5 v. Philadelphia 76ers | Top | 103-91 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 22 m | Show |
This one has all the makings of a massive blowout. I'm calling an OKC win by 15 or more in this spot. I called the 76ers in their last game and had a strong opinion on them winning their first game of the season. Now my opinion is even stronger that they'll get blown out here. Now let's talk about why. OKC gets a usual day off after this game. The 76ers face a back-to-back situation where they get to play another game with a likely chance of grabbing a win over the Pistons tomorrow. They have to be looking ahead at that one even though they'd like to give it everything they've got to stack up against a juggernaut like the Thunder. They are back! Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are 2 superstars that can account for 40-50% of the Thunder offense. KD came out swinging with 27 points in 30 minutes but they still lost to the Pelicans 112-104. I'm so glad they lost because they're not going to come into tonight with swagger and confidence. This game is a blessing to the Thunder for another reason. Call it a scrimmage or an intense practice session. This is a team that wants to work out its kinks and get their squad back to the elite level. There's no better opportunity than right now with the Sixers on deck. Getting this away game right now gives them a chance to regain the team chemistry while recognizing how much better they are than most of the league. A huge win is necessary. Anything less than a double digit victory will be unsatisfying and alarming in this spot. KD will feast and feel good about it. Westbrook will run his own clinic. The rest of the key pieces in OKC will be able to fill the roles they were meant to fill and not have to push it or force anything close to what was expected of them when their stars were out. OKC is #3 in scoring defense. 76ers are 26th and allow any above average player to score at will.  It also doesn't help that Philly is 30th in the league in scoring. OKC is 5-0 ATS against Philly. This could be REALLY UGLY. I wouldn't be surprised by a victory over 25 points here. Take the Thunder at any spread that is being offered. This is your 'MEGA MONEY MOVE' 20* NBA GAME OF THE MONTH! |

12-03-14 | Philadelphia 76ers +7.5 v. Minnesota Timberwolves | Top | 85-77 | Win | 100 | 12 h 24 m | Show |
It might be time. I've stayed far far way from these boys but tonight may be the night. We can grab the moneyline on the 76ers and share their fate or we can take the generous points offered in a situation that looks highly likely for the 0-17 basement dwellers to finally grab a much MUCH needed win. Nobody wants to be the first team to surrender to this B-level team but unfortunately someone has to take it on the chin. If you are feeling brave, grab the 76ers on the moneyline at +220 or higher but I'm sticking with the generous points offered right now. There isn't a lot to say in terms of stats to make a case for Philly. They're simply awful. The main argument here is that these guys are not getting negative about it and team morale hasn't been greatly affected. They recognize the position they're in and everyone is willing to develop their skills as young professionals in this league. The Spurs may not have given max effort on Monday but the 76ers were able to cover a +11 line with a close 109-103 result. Philly has been at home for a week and a half. It's time to take their game on the road without any ill effects of scheduling issues. No back-to-backs during this time period and no Thanksgiving hangovers here. Philly can stay competitive enough to keep it within 7. Minnesota can score but they can also give up a ton of points with wide open lanes for young guys like Carter-Williams to exploit all night. Let's hope Philly can finally win one but let's keep a 7 or 7.5 point distance here to make sure we get paid regardless. This is your 9* NBA 'PLUS POINTS' underdog ATS Winner of the Night. |

12-03-14 | San Antonio Spurs -8.5 v. Brooklyn Nets | Top | 93-95 | Loss | -113 | 12 h 32 m | Show |
The Spurs are rested. Brooklyn Nets are not.  Duncan and Parker sat out their last game on Monday while Ginobili only played a little over 12 minutes. Confidence is riding high for a Spurs bench that can be trusted on to carry the team mindset and philosophy to operate like a well oiled machine. It doesn't matter who is on the court for San Antonio, they just keep operating like clockwork and scooping up wins along the way. 8 wins in a row, 13 of 17, 6-2 ATS on the road. 13-5 ATS against sub .500 teams and 12-2 ATS on the Nets' home court puts the Spurs in a clearly advantageous position. The Nets are 0-4 ATS at home and 3-12-1 ATS after a win. Brooklyn circles their calendar for all the dates they get against the New York Knicks. No matter how awful either team is right now, this is a matchup that demands physicality and high energy. Both teams left it all on the court last night with Brooklyn getting the expected win. The Nets are in a terrible letdown spot and their starters are spent. Over 40 minutes for Bogdanovic will be sure to affect him today. The Nets don't have the bench to keep their gameplay consistent and effective. Over 35 minutes for Brook Lopez would have the team nervous to put out their injury prone star in a situation where he could re-aggravate his foot problems. Nevertheless, he's a pro and he has to go out there to grab the boards that no one else will be able to do on his team. KG after a 30 minute night will have a tough one. Joe Johnson and Deron Williams coming up 35+ minutes will also find it hard to get open looks through a tough defense that ranks 3rd in points allowed. I see Brooklyn getting knocked around hard tonight. Look for a double digit win by the Spurs. This is your 12* NBA 'BLOWOUT' OF THE NIGHT! |

12-02-14 | Dallas Mavericks +2 v. Chicago Bulls | Top | 132-129 | Win | 100 | 11 h 43 m | Show |
The Bulls were on the road for 7 straight games and return home for only one game before a back to back scenario puts them in Charlotte tomorrow. Minutes have to be managed here as Derrick Rose was been given the green light to play over 53 minutes in the last 2 games. Taj Gibson is still out and a premier defender like that is sorely missed against the top offense in the league that is scoring from all angles. Dirk Nowitizki got the rest on Saturday in a game against Philly where the effort level from his team was at a season low. Expect the Mavs to really get up for this one as a measuring stick matchup to see how well they stack up with one of the top teams in the East. The marquee matchup and the recent form from the Bulls after smacking the Nets around for a 102-84 score on Sunday has the line very close. The problem lies with a team returning home from a long road trip and feeling completely unsettled along with the fact that they played last 2 days ago while Dallas had an extra day to rest. Bulls are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 home games. At some point here they have to waive off the measuring stick so early in the season and grab the easier wins off the table with the struggling Hornets lined up right behind this game. Give me the Mavs who've won 3 in a row as they score in bunches and the extra 2 points are just a bonus. THIS IS YOUR NBA 'MARQUEE MISTAKE' 10* PICK OF THE NIGHT |

12-01-14 | Denver Nuggets -2.5 v. Utah Jazz | Top | 103-101 | Loss | -113 | 23 h 42 m | Show |
Denver has really stepped up their game by going back to what works so well for them. A frantic pace where they run hard and run circles for 4 quarters is making their opponents fatigued and unable to keep up. Denver is now 7-3 in their last 10 and slowly climbing up the ranks. Utah however, has regressed and fallen on hard times with 5 losses in a row and a 2-8 record in their last 10. Denver is a top 5 offensive and rebounding team in the league right now. The defense is allowing only 41.9% shooting in their last 5 games which is highly respectable given that their offense continues to pack a mean punch at 105.5 pts per game. The Jazz are only averaging 95.6 a game and looking for more production without anywhere to turn. This is a historically better home team by miles because they take advantage of opponents coming into the high altitude and a devoted home crowd of usually raucous fans. The home support dies down during a 5 game losing streak with fans wondering if they should just continue to think for the long-term with a bunch of young guys trying to figure themselves out. The climate or altitude doesn't factor in either when playing the Nuggets who use the same advantage in their own home games. Utah simply has to step up and beat Denver. At this time and place, it doesn't look likely at all. Denver comes in 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 and 5-2 ATS in Utah. Try to buy the half point now to bring it back to -2 or 1 point later on when this spread moves up. This is your NBA 'SKY HIGH' 12* DESTRUCTION play of the night! |

11-30-14 | Memphis Grizzlies -1.5 v. Sacramento Kings | Top | 97-85 | Win | 100 | 8 h 44 m | Show |
Only the Celtics have scored exactly 100 on Memphis in their last 7 games. Every other team has been held to double digits. The under is 4-1 the last 5 matchups between the Kings and Grizzlies or 4 unders in a row until their last game on November 13th when the Grizzlies escaped with a 111-110 win. Don't expect Sacramento to score at will this afternoon with a few key players coming off illnesses or injuries. Darren Collison will play through a quad injury, Rudy Gay will play through Achilles discomfort, Ramon Sessions through knee pain and Demarcus Cousins coming off the stomach bug that has hit more than a few NBA players this past week. These are the key players for Sacramento and its a bad spot to get up for the most physically dominant team in the NBA as well as the top team in the league at the moment. Memphis is healthy and hungry. Sacramento needs to be put back in their spot around the mid to low level teams in the West. They've turned heads but the Grizzlies will punish them and make them prove if they can live up to the hype. The line is too short based on the Grizzlies road trip but Memphis gets an extra day of rest before they play again on the 3rd. The Kings have to get up for the the next best team in the league when they play again on the 2nd. The Grizzlies win by doing what works. Tough defense, limit opportunities, frustrate opponents and slow down the game. Take the Grizzlies at -1.5 or -2. |

11-28-14 | Minnesota Timberwolves v. Los Angeles Lakers -5.5 | Top | 120-119 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 49 m | Show |
The Lakers have been at home since the night of the 21st when they lost 107-140 to the best offense in the league in the Mavericks. Minnesota has been home since the night of the 15th, after giving up 131 points to Dallas as well. Minnesota doesn’t have the bodies to keep up here. Both teams surrender points and do their best in a race for points. It’s a tall order for the Wolves to ask Andrew Wiggins to carry the load against LA. Kobe welcomes the young man into the league tonight in his house. This is the first time both teams meet since last March when Minnesota defeated LA 143-107. These are massive scores but who’s going to score them for Minnesota tonight? Mo Williams may give it a go but won’t be at full health, Pecovic and Martin are huge losses alongside Rubio. Thanksgiving plays into this. It plays into every game in the USA on Friday. The NBA was off last night for teams to head home or rest up for a day. You can assume that effort levels were low yesterday and now it’s time to shake off the turkey and get up for this one. Kobe won’t let him team come out dragging their feet. The Wolves don’t have a real leader out there and their road trip out to the coast with lookaheads at the red hot Blazers and resurgent Clippers the day after Thanksgiving doesn’t sit well with me. The Lakers are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 at home to sub .500 teams. They know that wins come at a premium this season and they have to scoop up the ones that lie like injured prey. The Wolves allow 109.7 point per game at 50.8% shooting.  The Lakers give up 110.8 points at 48.4%. Like I said before, it’s going to be tough finding the scorers out there for the Wolves to keep up tonight. LA should give their home fans a holiday special win by 6+. Take the Lakers. |

11-26-14 | Memphis Grizzlies -6.5 v. Los Angeles Lakers | Top | 99-93 | Loss | -113 | 16 h 31 m | Show |
Let me try to break this down the right way and the most simplistic way. The Lakers need to depend on their offense to get going to keep up with opponents in order to scrape up any wins they can get. Sadly, this style doesn't really work and they know it. 2-6 in their last 8 and 4 ATS losses out of their last 6. Kobe is carrying the team once again and demanding more out of everyone. The trouble is, they continue to drop bodies with Xavier Henry out for the season and Carlos Boozer on the sidelines for last Sunday's game and yesterday's practice. His shoulder might hold up to bang in a few minutes here and there or he may not be able to suit up after his warm-ups. Memphis comes in as the top team in the West at 12-2. If anyone can hold an offense first team, it's the defensive minded Grizzlies. The Lakers were able to put up 102 points last time on Memphis on the 11th of this month but the Grizzlies held on for the win. Memphis holds teams to 92.4 points per game and you can be assured that they'll tighten up tonight to limit all scoring opportunities for the Lakers. Take Kobe out of the equation and the Lakers are sitting ducks. Tony Allen will have that one job tonight. The Lakers on the other hand give up a whopping 111.6 points per game! Good enough for the worst defense in the league. Memphis can reach 13-2 after this game to set a team record for their 15 game start as they try and prove to be the best Grizzly team in the history of their franchise. Memphis should stay ahead and keep a large enough lead in this one. The Grizzlies are 4-0 ATS in their last four games and the road team is 3-0-3 ATS in the last 6 meetings. Memphis wins by 7+ |
|||||||
11-25-14 | Chicago Bulls v. Denver Nuggets -2 | Top | 109-114 | Win | 100 | 11 h 44 m | Show |
This the absolute worst back to back you can get in the NBA. The mission from Utah to Denver is simply grueling when taking into account the altitude and effect on fatigue. Derrick Rose will most likely suit up after his minutes were limited yesterday in the Bulls 97-95 win over Utah. Pau Gasol (over 37mins last night) and Rose were both recently out with injuries and this is not a good situation to bring them back into form. Taj Gibson will also miss this game with a higher workload placed on Jimmy Butler who has already been overworked playing practically the entire game on most nights including almost 44 minutes last night.. This is their 5th game in the West with 2 more to go in the East before they can head home. The Nuggets on the other hand are coming off a day of rest and they've tightened up on defense by holding their last 2 opponents under 100 points, including the Lakers who took them to overtime. Denver won both of those last 2 and 4 in a row and the Bulls are not looking good here as they've gone 1-6 ATS in their last 7 in Denver. The home team is also 4-0 ATS. Take Denver but please try to buy a point to bring it down to -3 if the line is at -4 |
|||||||
11-22-14 | Washington Wizards -3 v. Milwaukee Bucks | Top | 111-100 | Win | 100 | 15 h 47 m | Show |
The Wizards have been hanging out at home for 13 days going 3-1 in that span. Look out because this team is a contender in the East that has just welcomed back a key piece in their arsenal. Bradley Beal is dangerous and he should be starting tonight. They were able to manage their minutes well after smashing the Cavaliers last night. I love the experience and confidence this team carries knowing that they don't have to keep adjusting and shuffling around. They know their strengths and they carry a balance on both sides of the court better than most teams The Bucks return home after 2 games, one sandwich game at home and 2 more away before that. They won the home against the pathetic Knicks but they split the 4 away games. Bad spot for Milwaukee coming home deflated after a huge slap across the face from the Raptors last night in a 124-83 defeat. Antetokounmpo has a sore ankle and pressed it last night after rolling it against the Nets on Wednesday. He'll try to keep pushing on it but it's not a good idea for the young guy. Jabari Parker is carrying too much of a load and expecting him to be the high man on a back to back tonight is asking a lot from him. The Bucks lose this one. Grab a point to -2 if you can and let's try to go for 11 in a row without a loss This is your 8* 'NBA ON FIRE' PLAY OF THE DAY |

11-21-14 | Phoenix Suns -9.5 v. Philadelphia 76ers | Top | 122-96 | Win | 100 | 10 h 46 m | Show |
It's almost like a teacher or parent has to show up and tell us to stop picking on the little Sixers. I'm sorry but a few more kicks have to be given here. We back off Phoenix in their last win but I really enjoyed seeing how they answered the call to play with a more defensive mentality. Here's the deal. Coach says, " I want to see some better defense out there." The players respond by limiting the Pistons to a FG% of 37.9 and kept them at a very respectable 86 points. They did what the coach asked for and now they're going to go back to what they like doing. Outrunning and simply gassing out the opposing team. The Sixers can't keep up offensively. There's no reason to drop back here for the Suns. They can build a huge lead on the back of Isaiah Thomas who needs to snap out of a funk where he's a 8-36 in 4 games. Give him the ball and let him grab freebie lay-ups all night to get back into his groove. Goran Dragic can slice through the Philly defense and find anyone he wants. It's a long road stretch for the Suns and I don't want to press them any further after this one. The next 2 has them in Indiana and Toronto where they can be exploited if they're lacking the motivation or the endurance, but I wouldn't bet against them either. Right now the situation calls for the Sixers to get run off their own court as they look ahead to playing at the World's Most Famous Arena tomorrow. For a bunch of rag tag ballers, that's a pretty big game to enjoy and the Knicks are vulnerable for a loss with the way they've been playing. Give me the Suns to win by a lot. Grab the -9 if you can at anything under -130 or go for the -9.5 if you're getting in late. |

11-19-14 | San Antonio Spurs +2.5 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | Top | 92-90 | Win | 100 | 11 h 55 m | Show |
Buy the half point to bring it to +3 if it's cheap. I see the Spurs getting this one in a game where defense meets offense and a well oiled machine meets a brand new machine that hasn't been worked in yet. This is the big game tonight. All eyes are on Lebron and company at home but the attention should be placed on the Spurs. Popovich was able to rest his stars after an early 30-13 lead in the 1st quarter and the eventual 100-75 cruise over the 76ers. The Spurs are a hard bunch to predict when they’re governed by the mysterious Popovich who likes to keep his line-ups very close to his chest. This is the only trip to Cleveland this season unless they meet each other in the NBA Finals. The Spurs have to take out the measuring stick here and work their 3rd overall scoring defense to disallow the 4th ranked scoring offense from finding its groove. The Cavs keep getting the input from everyone that they need to tighten up on their end of the court. Ranking 24th overall in scoring defense and allowing 104.3 pts per game isn’t going to get them very far in the post-season. The need for adjustments and the pressure to perform at a peak level over the level-headed Spurs will be a tough task. Take the Spurs for a unit at this number but notice how the extra points on a teaser gives us the extra edge in this one. That's just it. I'm giving you a BONUS PICK here by taking a very rare teaser with the Spurs at +7, +7.5 or +8 coupled with the Celtics at pk, -0.5, -1 That's just free money. The Spurs are your NBA 'BIG GAME PAYDAY' 10* release |

11-17-14 | Dallas Mavericks -3.5 v. Charlotte Hornets | Top | 107-80 | Win | 100 | 11 h 53 m | Show |
Here's what you need to know. Let's keep this simple. Don't back a team returning home off after a road trip over 3 games. There are very rare exceptions but definitely not when you come home to face the #1 offense in the league. Charlotte went 1-3 on the road, and return home for a sandwich game before heading out the Indiana. This one looks rough for them. They own a 3-1 home record which makes the books give them some credit. The fact that a huge % of the public is backing the Mavs bothers me slightly but what can you do? There will be plenty of money up for grabs for the books to clean up on with MNF and the rest. This one could be one of those gift plays. Mavs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5. Most importantly, they're creating shots with multiple weapons in a game where confidence is everything. Take Dallas on a short line and try to buy a point to -2.5 for extra security. This is your NBA 'MONDAY NIGHT GIFT' and a 10* Release! |

11-15-14 | Minnesota Timberwolves v. Dallas Mavericks -11.5 | Top | 117-131 | Win | 100 | 5 h 32 m | Show |
SportsAtari's Daily Reports November 15th, 2015 Again, the Pelicans simply destroyed Minnesota right off the start, 43-19 in the 1st quarter and they never looked back.  |
|||||||
11-14-14 | Minnesota Timberwolves v. New Orleans Pelicans -6.5 | Top | 91-139 | Win | 100 | 9 h 33 m | Show |
New Orleans is at home and ready to run the Wolves out of their gym. This is their second home game where they sit at 3-1.  I'm loving the fact that New Orleans gets a couple days off after this game while Minnesota turns around from their Mexico City game, to this one and they head off to Dallas for a tough one tomorrow. The Mavericks made a lot of noise with their beating over the 76ers last night and you can't help to think that they're lined up to play you next. The Wolves are going to get lit up by Ryan Anderson and Tyreke Evans will outmatch Zach Levine on route to a double digit victory. Omer Asik and Pekovic match up together while Anthony Davis does whatever he wants. Pelicans roll. |
|||||||
11-12-14 | Brooklyn Nets v. Phoenix Suns -4.5 | Top | 104-112 | Win | 100 | 6 h 10 m | Show |
Take the suns in a race to the hoop. Isaiah Thomas won't be caught. Bledsoe and Dragic will expose the lack of quickness on the Nets' defense. D. Williams won't keep up. The Nets will have to slow the game down and play a physical game. I just don't see that happening in Phoenix with a dynamic roster of position players. |
