11-14-17 | Spurs v. Mavs +6.5 | 97-91 | Win | 100 | 9 h 9 m | Show
San Antonio at Dallas 8:30 ET Mavericks (+) over Spurs- Dallas has been absolutely dreadful both straight-up (2-12) and ATS 3-11 and the catch San Antonio as they are starting to find their rhythm. It is so bad for the Mavericks that they are just 1-6 both straight-up and ATS at home. The are so bad even against the 'number' as they are also 1-10 ATS when playing with just one-days rest. But, there is one trend that hits the Spurs hard and that is San Antonio is just 1-5 ATS in their last six road games. Take DALLAS! |
11-14-17 | Raptors +6.5 v. Rockets | Top | 129-113 | Win | 100 | 9 h 42 m | Show |
Toronto at Houston 8:00 ET Raptors (+) over Rockets- The Rockets have blasted off and have now won six in-a-row all without point guard Chris Paul. During this streak Houston is averaging 120.2 points with James Harden leading the way in the past six games with 35.8 points per games along with 11.5 assists. Toronto is 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall but will be on point tonight. Take TORONTO! |
11-14-17 | Celtics v. Nets +7.5 | 109-102 | Win | 100 | 8 h 15 m | Show
Boston at Brooklyn 7:30 ET Nets (+) over Celtics- Downs goes Hayward...two losses and then an adjustment. The Celtics have rebounded since what many thought would be an injury that would destroy their season. Brad Stevens has his crew on a 12-game winning streak with Al Horford leading the way near the basket. Kyrie Irving has been the on-floor leader but will most likely be sidelined tonight with his facial fracture. Boston is doing it with defense allowing a league low 94 points per contest. The Nets are a much improved club and are 3-2 straight-up at home and get it done tonight. Take BROOKLYN! Â |
11-14-17 | Michigan State +2.5 v. Duke | 81-88 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 5 m | Show
Michigan State vs Duke 7:00 ET Spartans (+) over Blue Devils-What a great way to tap-off the NCAA basketball season but to have the nation's No. 1 and No. 2 teams face-off in Chicago. Of course Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski will have Grayson Allen along with four 'fresh' faces starting looking for their 7th straight win in this series which they lead 11-2. Michigan State coach Tom Izzo has an experienced club that has an edge over the youthful Blue Devils. Take MICHIGAN STATE! Â |
11-13-17 | Grizzlies +4 v. Bucks | 103-110 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 17 m | Show
Memphis at Milwaukee 8:00 ET Grizzlies (+) over Bucks- Whenever Milwaukee plays most eyes are on Giannis 'Greek Freak' Antetokounmpo but there is a new factor that has aided the Bucks in the newly acquired Eric Bodsoe. They had dropped four straight and five of six before the guard came aboard. The Grizzlies have dropped four the their last six and are off a loss to Houston 111-96 Saturday. Memphis is 4-1 ATS in the last four meetings. Take the GRIZZLIES! Â Â |
11-13-17 | Cavs v. Knicks +5.5 | 104-101 | Win | 100 | 7 h 51 m | Show
Cleveland at New York 7:30 ET Knicks (+) over Cavaliers- Now really, who would have thought or would believe that the Knicks would be better then .500 and Cleveland would be below .500 after a dozen games. They meet at Madison Square Garden tonight where New York is 6-2 both straight-up and ATS this season but the Cavaliers are 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings in New York. Cleveland is 0-6-1 ATS at home but 4-2 ATS on the road but the Knicks are 4-0 ATS in their last four at home. Take NEW YORK! |
11-11-17 | Magic v. Nuggets -8 | 107-125 | Win | 100 | 11 h 37 m | Show
Orlando at Denver 9:00 ET Nuggets (-) over Magic- This is the final game of a six game home stand where the Nuggets have won four of five and hope to extend their dominance in this series. Denver is 11-5-1 ATS in the last 16 meetings and are 10-4 ATS as hosts in the last 14 meetings. Orlando defeated the Suns 128-112 Friday night but will find the 'Mile-High' air more difficult to deal with especially after a game last night. This 'number' seems a tad high and I believe the odds makers are looking to force you to take the points...DON'T. Lay it with DENVER! |
11-11-17 | Cavs v. Mavs +6 | Top | 111-104 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 9 m | Show |
Cleveland at Dallas 8:30 ET Mavericks (+) over Cavaliers- Has LeBron already left Cleveland? By the looks of their current run and overall play it is hard to see James saving the Cavaliers who have lost six of their last eight. (The worst stretch since the return of 'King James'). Dallas at 2-10 is overall and just 1-5 both straight-up and ATS at home but Cleveland is just 1-4 ATS in their last five meetings in Dallas and just 2-8 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall. Mavericks rookies sensation Dennis Smith Jr. is picking up the slack as aging super-star Dirk Nowitzki has scored in single figures in each of the last three games. Still, the Cavaliers are in a funk. Take DALLAS! |
11-11-17 | Kings +6 v. Knicks | 91-118 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 43 m | Show
Sacramento at New York 8:05 ET Kings (+) over Knicks- The Kings started the season 1-8 but have rebounded with two straight wins both of which came at home and now travel to New York to play the Knicks and they are just 1-5 straight-up and 1-4-1 ATS. New York is 5-2 both straight-up and ATS at Madison Square Garden but are just 3-7 ATS against Sacramento at home. The Knicks lost at Orlando last time out with their budding 'Super-star' Kristaps Porzingis who should return tonight. Sometimes 'less is more' as the Kings with be without aging veteran Vince Carter which will allow more playing time for their talented youth. Take SACRAMENTO! Â |
11-10-17 | Bucks +5.5 v. Spurs | 94-87 | Win | 100 | 11 h 6 m | Show
Milwaukee at San Antonio 9:00 ET Bucks (+) over Spurs- Despite a number of injuries San Antonio has managed to win their last three and are 5-1 both straight-up and ATS at home and are gearing for their fifth straight home game. The Bucks hope to have Eric Bledsoe ready to go tonight and with his outside shooting ability it should take the premier pressure off the 'Greek Freak.' Giannis Antetokounmpo is of course one of the top players in the league but he does have one short coming. The 'Freaks' outside shot is not the best (still better then the Lakers' Ball) and having Bledsoe there relieves the pressure. Take MILWAUKEE! Â |
11-10-17 | Heat +4 v. Jazz | 84-74 | Win | 100 | 11 h 3 m | Show
Miami at Utah 9:00 ET Heat (+) over Jazz- The Utah Jazz have had a home floor advantage has been second to none for years and right now that are in the mist of a 3-game home losing streak. Poor shooting and poor defense are key factors as Utah has surrendered 116.7 points allowed in those three losses. With the return of Hassan Whiteside the Heat now have the shot-blocking center ready and that opens to premier for Goran Dragic who has taken over outside. The Heat are much better then most realize and will win here. Take MIAMI! Â Â |
11-10-17 | Magic v. Suns +4 | Top | 128-112 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 10 m | Show |
Orlando at Phoenix 9:00 ET Suns (+) over over Magic- Phoenix who started the season with the worst opening day loss in NBA history had a brief rebound winning 4-of-7 but have now lost their last four both straight-up and ATS. Gone is Eric Bledsoe to Milwaukee who played only one game for the Suns and left 21-year old guard Devin Booker to run the show. Phoenix has won four straight meetings until Orlando won during their last trip to the desert. It's just a good time and spot for the Suns. Take PHOENIX! |
11-09-17 | Thunder v. Nuggets +1.5 | Top | 94-102 | Win | 100 | 12 h 54 m | Show |
Oklahoma City at Denver 10:30 ET Nuggets (+) over Thunder- So, the NBA 'experts' believe that Oklahoma City who is struggling at 4-6 to find a fit with Carmelo Anthony and Paul George will mess at one time or another this season. Yeah, just like the Knicks messed with Anthony. Russell Westbrook is his same exciting self but with Anthony's 'stop-and -shoot' offense to deal with the offensive flow has stooped. The Thunder has had command in this series winning nine straight meetings until the season's final game last year in Oklahoma City. Maybe down the line but, right now play against OKC. Take DENVER! |
11-09-17 | Pelicans +5.5 v. Raptors | 118-122 | Win | 100 | 9 h 52 m | Show
New Orleans at Toronto 7:30 ET Pelicans (+) over Raptors- It appears that the duo of Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins have turned New Orleans into a contender as they own a winning record for the first time since 2014-15. Toronto is off to a decent start (6-4) but I can't help remembering what I saw in the NBA Playoffs from the Raptors last season as they rely on the guard play of DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry while their defense suffers allowing opponents to shot 45% from the field. The Pelicans who are 5-2 on the road are two strong up front and get the money here. Take NEW ORLEANS! |
11-09-17 | Lakers v. Wizards -10.5 | 95-111 | Win | 100 | 8 h 26 m | Show
L.A. Lakers at Washington 7:00 ET Wizards (-) over Lakers- The Wizards opened the season 3-0 which was so much better then last season's 3-8 start when the won 49 games including 30 at home. Well, after their quick start they when to Los Angels and were defeated by the Lakers and now they have dropped three straight at home including the first of this current four-game home stand to the 1-10 Mavericks. In the first meetings everyone was expecting John Wall to school Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball but it was Bradley Beal that tallied 28 points. This time Washington and Wall won't be so kind. Take the WIZARDS! |
11-08-17 | Lakers +9 v. Celtics | 96-107 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 47 m | Show
L.A. Lakers at Boston 8:00 ET Lakers (+) over Celtics- Many thought and I must admit I was one of them, that the Celtics' season was in peril after Gordon Hayward went down five minutes into the season. Boston lost their first two games and appeared lost. But, I failed to consider how good a coach Brad Stevens is! They have responded to Hayward's injury by bonding together and winning nine straight. This rivalry at one time defined the league and now with the Lakers lack of success in recent seasons has taken some of the luster off the meeting. Boston passed on Lonzo Ball (shooting below 30% from the field) in the 2017 draft trading down to take a 'real professional in Jayson Tatum who is averaging 14.3 points shooting over 50% from the floor. So, what! Take LOS ANGELES! |
11-07-17 | 76ers v. Jazz -6.5 | 104-97 | Loss | -103 | 11 h 7 m | Show
Philadelphia at Utah 9:05 ET Jazz (-) over 76ers- Philadelphia as been a great 'take' so far this season going 5-4 straight-up and 7-2 ATS with the 'Fabulous' Joel Embiid leading the way. Utah is looking to bounce back from their two recent losses including a trouncing at Houston losing by 27 points. The trends here are all one-sided as the Jazz have won nine straight against Philadelphia and 12 straight at home. Utah is 5-1 at home and without Embiid in the lineup tonight (resting) the 76ers will not have the inside presence that he has provided so far and he will be missed. Take UTAH! |
11-07-17 | Clippers +4 v. Spurs | Top | 107-120 | Loss | -108 | 11 h 42 m | Show |
L.A. Clippers at San Antonio 8:35 ET Clippers (+) over Spurs- Both these clubs are getting over or through early tough spots as the Clippers have dropped four of their last five including their last two at home in day-time starts Saturday and Sunday while San Antonio has won their last two after losing four straight. This is just the third road game for the Clippers who have won both their road encounters while the Spurs are 4-1 at home both straight-up and ATS. LA seems to get ready to play against San Antonio as they won three of four meetings last season and six of the last nine meetings. Take the CLIPPERS! Â |
11-07-17 | Bucks +5 v. Cavs | 119-124 | Push | 0 | 9 h 18 m | Show
Milwaukee at Cleveland 7:00 ET Bucks (+) over Cavaliers- Okay, I acknowledge that I thought the Kyrie Irving trade would have more of a negative effect on the Celtics then it would the Cavaliers. But, it looks like (for now) that I was way off on that one. We all know what happened to Boston losing Gorgon Hayward opening night but they have won nine straight while Cleveland is 4-6 including 2-4 at home where they are 0-6 ATS. The Cavs have taken four straight in this series and seven of the last eight while the Bucks have dropped their last four. The matchup between Lebron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo has lost some of its luster and with a slue of injured players the Cavaliers fall short once again. Take MILWAUKEE! |
11-06-17 | Nets +1.5 v. Suns | Top | 98-92 | Win | 100 | 11 h 18 m | Show |
Brooklyn at Phoenix 9:00 ET Nets (+) over Suns- Last season when the NBA scheduled this matchup they were happy to know at least one of these team would get a win. Last Tuesday the Suns played the Nets in Brooklyn and posted their first road win of the season and today less then a week later these two will finish their season series in Phoenix. After the worst opening game loss in NBA history and starting the year 0-3 the Suns have bounced back to win 3-of-4. Brooklyn has dropped their last four and are 0-4 straight-up on the road. But, the Nets have a small measure of revenge after last week home loss to the Suns. Take BROOKLYN! |
11-05-17 | Thunder v. Blazers +2.5 | Top | 99-103 | Win | 100 | 12 h 44 m | Show |
Oklahoma City at Portland 9:00 ET Trailblazers (+) over Thunder- Most believed that the Thunder would be much improved with the addition of Paul George and of course Carmelo Anthony. Before the season the Vegas 'experts' asked me which team would have the most disappoint season and I responded it's Oklahoma City. Sometimes less is more and with the addition of Anthony the ball will no longer flow among teammates as it did when Russell Westbrook ran the show. Portland is 0-4 ATS in their last four hoe games and now they get to be an underdog in familiar surroundings. Take the TRAILBLAZERS! |
11-05-17 | Jazz +6.5 v. Rockets | 110-137 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 48 m | Show
Utah at Houston 7:05 ET Jazz (+) over Rockets- After playing seven of the first 10 games on the road (6-1) the Rockets return home where they are just 1-2 with their only win coming against Dallas the league's worst team. Utah is coming off a loss after five straight wins after five straight wins at home. On the road they have been a different animal as they are 0-3 to date. Although Utah won two of the last three meetings last season they are still just 2-5 ATS in Houston but, the Rockets are 1-6 ATS as hosts against teams with losing road records. Take UTAH. Â |
11-05-17 | Heat +5 v. Clippers | 104-101 | Win | 100 | 6 h 23 m | Show
Miami at L.A. Clippers 3:30 ET Heat (+) over Clippers- The Heat who started the season with six of their first seven games on the road and are currently on a six game road trip. The Clippers are hosting their second consecutive afternoon games as they were defeated by our 'Money Game' release Memphis 113-104 yesterday. After starting the year 4-0 the Clippers are just 1-3 since. Miami started the season with Hassan Whiteside injured but he has return and means a world of difference for the Heat. Take MIAMI! |
11-04-17 | Warriors v. Nuggets +9 | Top | 127-108 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 7 m | Show |
Golden State at Denver 9:00 ET Nuggets (+) over Warriors- After a slow start the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors have rebounded nicely with two huge road victories over the Clippers and Spurs by an average of 24 points. There are a couple of reasons the Warriors started so slowly including boredom and the fact that all their opponents are giving their best effort when facing the current champs. Denver has a new face in 4-time All-Star Paul Millsap and he has been the Nuggets leader early in the season. Take DENVER! |
11-04-17 | Mavs v. Wolves -12.5 | 99-112 | Win | 100 | 9 h 2 m | Show
Dallas at Minnesota 8:00 ET Timberwolves (-) over Mavericks- Wow, we were all aware that the aging Mavericks might not be the powerhouse that we are used to seeing with Dirk Nowitzki leading the charge. But, they are in the mist of the worst start (1-9) in franchise history and are even pitiful against the spread going just 2-8 ATS. Minnesota has missed the playoffs 13 straight seasons but appear to have what is take to qualify this season with the addition of Taj Gibson and Jimmy Butler to go with one of the youngest roster in the league led by young start Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. Take MINNESOTA! Â Â |
11-04-17 | Grizzlies +6.5 v. Clippers | 113-104 | Win | 100 | 5 h 44 m | Show
Memphis at L.A. Clippers 3:30 ET Grizzlies (+) over Clippers- Memphis opened the season 5-1 but have dropped their last two while the Clippers lost their first two games of this current five-game home stand before throttling Dallas. With the Grizzlies Mike Conley questionable guard Tyreke Evans has emerged scoring a season high of 32 points in his absence in their 101-99 loss to Orlando Wednesday night. L.A. or should I say Blake Griffin has been outstanding in the Clippers five wins but not so much in their defeats. With the Grizzlies defense being one of the league's beat and coming off two straight losses I give the visitor who one one of two in LA last season the edge. Take MEMPHIS! |
11-03-17 | Raptors +1.5 v. Jazz | Top | 109-100 | Win | 100 | 11 h 32 m | Show |
Toronto at Utah 9:00 ET Raptors (+) over Jazz- Utah is a perfect 5-0 both straight-up and ATS at home so far this season and host the Raptors who will be playing their sixth road game and are 2-3 straight-up and 3-2 ATS. This 'price' seems a bit cheap to me for a team that is undefeated at home and has won three straight. Maybe the fact that Toronto is 8-0 ATS in the last eight meetings and 4-0 ATS in their four meetings in Utah. The Jazz seem to have all the advantages entering this contest but Vegas doesn't agree. Take RAPTORS! Â |
11-03-17 | Pelicans v. Mavs +5 | 99-94 | Push | 0 | 10 h 5 m | Show
New Orleans at Dallas 8:30 ET Mavericks (+) over Pelicans- The Mavericks were determined to start the season on the right foot after going 2-14 last year but this season's start (1-8) is the worst in franchise history. New Orleans has two of the NBA's best big men is DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis who has had three straight triple-doubles. The problem for the Pelicans is that they have difficulty keeping their two big men healthy. Dallas right now is the worst shooting team in the league but that percentage will rise. Take MAVERICKS! Â |
11-03-17 | Rockets v. Hawks +8.5 | 119-104 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 9 m | Show
Houston at Atlanta 7:30 ET Hawks (+) over Rockets- Seven is the number of the day as far as their matchup is concerned as Atlanta has lost seven straight since the season's opener at Dallas and the Rockets have dropped seven straight meetings against the Hawks. Houston is still without point guard Chris Paul but still a force offensively with James Harden leading the way hoisting 3-pointers every chance he gets. Atlanta has yet to win at home (0-2) while Houston is 5-1 on the road. Look for the Hawks to suck it up here. Take ATLANTA! |
11-01-17 | Rockets v. Knicks +5.5 | 119-97 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 59 m | Show
Houston at New York 8:00 ET Knicks (+) over Rockets- The Rockets come into New York fizzling as they have dropped their last two as their long range shots are off the mark. Houston led the NBA in 3-point attempts last season (40.3) and has increased that number in 2017 (44) but their accuracy has dropped from 35.7% to 30.7%. The Knicks opened the season with three straight losses but have won their last three with Kristaps Poraingis leading the way. The Rockets have dominated this series winning the last three and 14 of the last 15 meetings and are 14-3 ATS in their last 17 trips to New York. But, things have changed, the Knicks are young and energetic while Houston added Chris Paul who is on the shelf for now. Take the KNICKS! Â |
11-01-17 | Suns v. Wizards -12.5 | 122-116 | Loss | -108 | 8 h 4 m | Show
Phoenix at Washington 7:00 ET Wizards (-) over Suns- Washington just finished a four-game West Coast road trip 2-2 and return home to play six of their next seven. The Suns are off their win last night (122-114) at Brooklyn last night but will still be without disgruntled guard Eric Bledsoe who is demanding a trade. The Wizards have four the last four meetings over the past two seasons by a combined total of 19 points and yet Washington is a double-digit favorite tonight. Take the WIZARDS! |
10-31-17 | Pistons v. Lakers +4 | 93-113 | Win | 100 | 11 h 9 m | Show
Detroit at L.A. Lakers 10:30 ET Lakers (+) over Pistons- The Pistons are off to a great start something they have struggled with the past three seasons and are 5-2 after having defeated both the LA Clippers and Golden State and have won four in-a-row. This young Lakers club is playing hard and with heart but have had difficulty closing out games blowing fourth quarter leads in their last two losses to the Raptors and Jazz. Los Angeles has dropped the last two meetings after having won 12 of the previous 13 meetings and are just 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings. Take the LAKERS! Â |
10-31-17 | Thunder v. Bucks +2 | Top | 110-91 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 41 m | Show |
Oklahoma City at Milwaukee 8:00 ET Bucks (+) over Thunder- sometimes in life 'less is more' and so is the case as I predicted in Oklahoma City. Most people believe that adding Carmelo Anthony to the Thunder roster would be a great compliment to Russell Westbrook and help push OKC into the top tier of clubs. But, I believe that just the opposite is happening that with Anthony's 'stop and shoot' offense can only slow down Westbrook. Even with budding superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo emerging the Bucks are just 2-5 ATS in their last seven as hosts against the Thunder. Tonight the hosts prevail. Take MILWAUKEE! Â |
10-31-17 | Suns +5 v. Nets | 122-114 | Win | 100 | 8 h 14 m | Show
Phoenix at Brooklyn 7:30 ET Suns (+) over Nets- The fact that the Suns have won two of their last three games after starting the season with three consecutive losses by a total of 92 points has many wondering who they really are. Phoenix made two huge moves after their disastrous start by firing coach Earl Watson and the banishment of guard Eric Bledsoe who wanted out. All the trends lead toward the Nets as they are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games and Brooklyn is 4-0 ATS versus the Suns in the last four meetings. But, rolls have been reversed here as Brooklyn is now a favorite. Take PHOENIX! Â |
10-30-17 | 76ers +7 v. Rockets | 115-107 | Win | 100 | 7 h 10 m | Show
Philadelphia at Houston 8:00 ET 76ers (+) over Rockets- I hope that I can't keep a clear head when it comes to the 76ers as I just love what they have on the court. Granted they are just 2-4 straight-up but, they are 4-2 ATS on the season but have been a 'take' on the road where they are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games. Houston has won the last eight meetings but Philadelphia is 7-2 ATS in the last seven meetings and Houston is 0-5 ATS in last five playing against sub-500 teams. Take 76ERS! |
10-30-17 | Nuggets v. Knicks +4.5 | 110-116 | Win | 100 | 7 h 53 m | Show
Denver at New York Knicks 7:30 ET Knicks (+) over Nuggets- 'Break-up the Knicks!' Two straight wins including a 114-95 win at Cleveland and a win over Brooklyn has New York confident Monday's encounter with Denver. The Nuggets have won their last two after a 1-3 start and have won the last five in this series going 5-0 ATS. The Knicks made a change moving Jarrett Jack to the point and putting Tim Hardaway Jr. in the shooting guard roll while feeding Kristaps Porzingis who is averaging 27.6 points per contest. Take NEW YORK! |
10-30-17 | Wolves v. Heat +3.5 | Top | 125-122 | Win | 100 | 7 h 55 m | Show |
Minnesota at Miami 7:30 ET Heat (+) over Timberwolves- They are only five games into the season the the Miami Heat (2-3) have already had a team meetings after losses to San Antonio and Boston. The Heat have been without center Hassan Whiteside who has yet to play and Miami has gone to a smaller quicker line-up that is looking to run the floor. The Heat will put up plenty of 3-pointers while Minnesota will try and get the ball in low to Karl-Anthony Towns who averages 24.8 points and 11.8 rebounds at center while ranking just 24th in 3-pointers made. Take MIAMI! |
10-28-17 | 76ers v. Mavs +1 | 112-110 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 8 m | Show
Philadelphia at Dallas 8:30 ET Mavericks over 76ers- A pair of current NBA bottom feeders face off as their two clubs have won just two of 11 games played among them thus far this season. Philadelphia (1-4) has a winning point spread record going 3-2 ATS while the Mavericks (1-5) are just 2-4 ATS. The 76ers have the most and best young talent in the league to the points that they have been made a favorite here which is a stretch for them on the road no matter who they are playing. Dallas will counter the 76ers center Joel Embiid with former Philadelphia center Nerlens Noel. Dallas is 4-1-1 the last six meetings at home against Philly and win here. Take MAVERICKS! |
10-28-17 | Celtics v. Heat +2 | 96-90 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 41 m | Show
Boston at Miami 8:00 ET Heat (+) over Celtics- Both these clubs are missing their stalwart players as injuries have hit both of their roosters pretty hard with the Celtics without Gordon Hayward and Miami is without Hassan Whiteside. Boston dropped their first two games of the season but have reeled off three straight wins while the Heat who are 2-2 straight up have yet to 'cover' a number. Boston has won the last seven meetings including the last four in Miami and yet they are barely favored here. The Heat ready to get the money tonight. Take MIAMI! |
10-28-17 | Cavs v. Pelicans +4 | 101-123 | Win | 100 | 9 h 45 m | Show
Cleveland at New Orleans 7:00 ET Pelicans (+) over Cavaliers- There have been a number of changes made to the rooster since the Finals with none having more impact then the loss of Kyrie Irving. LeBron James has been playing as their 'point guard' and has been his outstanding self registering a number of triple-doubles already this season. New Orleans added a huge piece at the end of last season and acquiring DeMarcus Cousins who along side Anthony Davis provide one of the strongest front courts in the NBA. Davis has missed the last two contests but will return tonight and will help be the difference. Take NEW ORLEANS! Â |
10-27-17 | Spurs v. Magic +5.5 | 87-114 | Win | 100 | 8 h 27 m | Show
San Antonio at Orlando 7:00 ET Magic (+) over Spurs- Golly, I 'hate' playing against the Spurs...but, it is a long season and no one is going undefeated. San Antonio is 4-0 on the season and 3-1 ATS while Orlando is 2-0 at home and are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings with the Spurs, but San Antonio has won 11 of the last 12 in this series including a 107-79 beating last time the Spurs were in town. This is where this ends. Take ORLANDO! |
10-27-17 | Rockets v. Hornets +3 | Top | 109-93 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 34 m | Show |
Houston at Charlotte 7:00 ET Hornets (+) over Rockets- Houston has dominated this series of late winning 12 of the last 13 meetings straight-up and are off a last-second buzzer beater to defeat Philadelphia on Wednesday. Both clubs are off wins and the Rockets are 3-0 on the road although only 1-2 ATS while Charlotte is 2-0 st home with a pair of point spread wins. Houston has struggled so far with their long range shooting (28%) and are know for playing little defense especially on the road. Take CHARLOTTE! |
10-26-17 | Clippers +3 v. Blazers | 104-103 | Win | 100 | 12 h 3 m | Show
L.A. Clippers at Portland 10:00 ET Clippers (+) over Trailblazers- The Clippers are one of the teams that has had 'Super Stars' depart and yet have started the season with three straight victories. Los Angeles who blew a 3-1 series lead against Portland in the 2016 playoffs swept the season series last year winning all three encounters. Except for that playoff anomaly the Clippers have had the best of the Trailblazers winning 10 of the last 14 regular season meetings. I'm staying with the obvious trend. Take CLIPPERS! |
10-25-17 | Raptors v. Warriors -11.5 | 112-117 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 8 m | Show
Toronto at Golden State 10-30 ET Warriors (-) over Raptors- This seems to me to be an awfully high 'line' against a playoff team even for the Warriors. Golden State (2-2) has yet to win at home as their opener was spoiled by the Rockets 122-121 but won 2-of-3 on their road trip. Toronto doesn't play well this far away from home as they have lost 12 straight st Golden State going 1-11 ATS. Look for the Warriors to treat their fans to their first home win of the season by a wide margin. Take GOLDEN STATE! |
10-25-17 | Cavs v. Nets +7.5 | 107-112 | Win | 100 | 8 h 15 m | Show
Cleveland at Brooklyn 7:30 ET Nets (+) over Cavaliers- The moment the Cavaliers acquired Derrick Rose I stated 'their chances of winning the NBA title has been reduced in dramatic fashion. Now, with Rose supposedly ailing LeBron James has moved to point game and Cleveland has never looked better. There is no doubt the Cavs have had the bets of the Nets winning the last four meetings and six of the last seven but are 2-5-1 ATS in the last eight meetings including 0-3-1 ATS in their last four in Brooklyn. The Nets are 3-1 ATS and have plenty of young aggressive talent that will give it their all tonight. Take BROOKLYN! Â Â |
10-25-17 | Rockets v. 76ers +4 | Top | 105-104 | Win | 100 | 8 h 48 m | Show |
Houston at Philadelphia 7:00 ET 76ers (+) over Rockets- It should be an exciting season for both these clubs as 'fresh' faces have been added to this year's version of each club. Houston has the addition of Chris Paul and the 76ers have added No.1 draft pick Markelle Fultz. The problem is both these players have health issues with Paul down for a month and Fultz is day-to-day with fluid in his shoulder. Without Paul the Rockets are shooting just 27.5% from 3-point range while attempting 43 3-pointers a game. Houston has won seven straight in the series hasn't had to face the young studs the 76ers now have playing with Joel Embid and Ben Simmons along with Fultz. Take PHILADELPHIA! Â |
10-24-17 | Nets +5 v. Magic | 121-125 | Win | 100 | 8 h 16 m | Show
Brooklyn at Orlando 7:00 ET Nets (+) over Magic- This year's version of the Brooklyn Nets is a young fast paced club that is averaging 124.3 points per contest and at 2-1 they are over .500 for the first time since they were 4-3 in Nov. 2014. Orlando is also 2-1 with their loss coming in Brooklyn on Friday 126-121 but rebounded with a huge win 114-93 over the Cavaliers on Sunday while the Nets defeated Atlanta 116-104 on Sunday. Young and excited the Nets are the side. Take BROOKLYN! |
10-20-17 | Celtics v. 76ers -1 | 102-92 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 37 m | Show
Boston at Philadelphia 7:00 ET 76ers over Celtics- Really? Who is the favorite in this game? Not Boston who has the most win the Eastern Conference regular season last year are 0-2 this season after losing Gordon Hayward went down with a broken five minutes into the season. The Celtics still have the talent to regroup with Kyrie Irving leading the way but first they must over-come the 'shock' of losing such a talent for the season. Philadelphia is young and hungry for their first win of the year. They get it tonight. Take 76ERS! Â |
10-20-17 | Cavs v. Bucks +2.5 | Top | 116-97 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 43 m | Show |
Cleveland at Milwaukee 7:00 ET Bucks (+) over Cavaliers- Cleveland won the game they 'wanted,' Opening Night, when the defeated the visiting Boston Celtics and LeBron James adversary Kyrie Irving. Milwaukee had the advantage of visiting Boston and out lasted the down trodden Celtics and posted an 108-100 victory. I still believe the LeBron James is the 'King' as his opening night performance will help attest but there is a 'new' kid on the block and at 22 years old Giannis Antetokounmpo maybe be the 'best' other player I the league. The 'Greek Freak' was outrageous in his season debut scoring 37 points with 13 rebounds three assists and three steals in the Bucks win over Boston Wednesday. Cleveland has eight new players and have Kevin Love now playing center while the Bucks who make the playoffs last season are in their home opener. Take MILWAUKEE! Â |
10-18-17 | Wolves +2 v. Spurs | Top | 99-107 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 31 m | Show |
Minnesota at San Antonio 9:30 ET Timberwolves (+) over Spurs- So, the Spurs have decided that LaMarcus Aldridge is their future as they just signed him to a $72.3 million dollar contract this will keep him in San Antonio for at least another four years. This is the same guy who has to sit out 'crunch' time because of his offensive liabilities as he just can't play on the perimeter or make free throws when it counts. Minnesota of course added Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson and Jamal Crawford to go with Andrew Wiggins and center Karl-Anthony Towns. Even though the Spurs have won the last 11 meetings this 'line' says things are about to change as the Spurs are without Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard. Take MINNESOTA! |
10-18-17 | Nuggets +2.5 v. Jazz | 96-106 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 48 m | Show
Denver at Utah 9:00 ET Nuggets (+) over Jazz- These are a pair of clubs that I believe are moving in opposite directions as the Nuggets have added quality in the off-season and Utah has had defections that they just can't compensate for. Gone are All-star forward Gordon Hayward their top scorer the last four seasons and George Hill their second leading scorer. To make up for this the Jazz signed points guard Ricky Rubio who has offensive short-comings. Denver was one of the hottest teams down the stretch last season missing then playoffs by one game and now they have added Paul Millsap. Utah finished 20-games over .500 last season and were 5-0 in the pre-season and now at home they are favored by less then a 3-point bucket. The tide has turned. Take DENVER! Â |
10-18-17 | Hawks v. Mavs -6 | 117-111 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 36 m | Show
Atlanta at Dallas 8:30 ET Mavericks (-) over Hawks- The Dallas Mavericks who won only 33 games last season missing the playoffs for only the second time in the Mark Cuban era are looking to change their offensive philosophy where they were 29th (out of 30) in the NBA last season in possessions. With the addition of Dennis Smith Jr. drafted out of NC State the offense will become 'high-tempo' attack as the preseason has shown us. Dirk Nowitzki is entering his 20th NBA season and he is still an effective offensive force. The Hawks are not the same this season as they have parted one way or another with four of their top five scorers. Last season the Mavs started 2-13 and had to play catch-up the rest of the year. Not here! Take DALLAS! Â |
10-17-17 | Celtics +4.5 v. Cavs | 99-102 | Win | 100 | 10 h 34 m | Show
Boston at Cleveland 8:00 ET Celtics (+) over Cavaliers- 'Let the drama begin...' will he or won't 'he' play, that being LeBron James who has a high ankle sprain. There have been a slue of changes in the NBA including both these clubs who have moved 'major' players and even between each other. The biggest noise maker is the departure of Kyrie Irving from the Cavaliers to the Celtics and points guard Isiah Thomas to Cleveland. Most believe that Boston got the best of that deal especially with Thomas disabled. I expect LeBron to play with a mission in his heart as the disrespectful Irving returns at Cleveland after demanding a trade away from James. LeBron wants it bad but the Cavaliers may not be for to it. Take BOSTON! |
06-07-17 | Warriors v. Cavs +4 | Top | 118-113 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 11 m | Show |
Cleveland at Golden State 8:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- In the 'you have got to be kidding' department their appears to me to be only one way to go in this Game 2 of the NBA Finals. I am still waiting for someone on the Cavaliers to 'pick up' Kevin Durant defensively as he played one-on-none in the first game as Cleveland was slept-walking through-out they night. Maybe, the Cavs just can't match-up with the Warriors this season with the difference being Durant. Despite what we saw in Game one there is only one way to go here. Take CLEVELAND! Â |
06-04-17 | Cavs +9 v. Warriors | Top | 113-132 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 2 m | Show |
Cleveland at Golden State 8:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- In the 'you have got to be kidding' department their appears to me to be only one way to go in this Game 2 of the NBA Finals. |
06-01-17 | Cavs +7 v. Warriors | Top | 91-113 | Loss | -102 | 12 h 45 m | Show |
Warriors (-) over Cavaliers- The results of this series will change (the media's) perception of two of today's greats. The storyline will either put LeBron James with a win into and possibly beyond the status of Michael Jordan while a loss for the Warriors will for ever tarnish Kevin Durant as a player that isn't a winner. Golden State is undefeated (12-0) in the play offs sweeping four-game series with Portland, Utah and San Antonio and has had nine full days of rest while the Cavs are 12-1 in the playoffs losing just once at Boston after building a 21-point lead. Defense and the pace will be the key and I expect Cleveland to control both. Take the CAVALIERS! |
05-25-17 | Cavs v. Celtics +11 | Top | 135-102 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 54 m | Show |
Cleveland at Boston 8:30 ET Celtics (+) over Cavaliers- The Eastern Conference finals return to the scene of the crime so to speak as the Celtics host Cleveland down 3-1 in Game Five. Boston lost the first two of this series at home by a combined 57 points as the Cavs had their way with the No. 1 seed twice on their court. The Celtics don't have the same type of firer-power that the Cavaliers possess but they have enough grit and determination to keep this one close. Take the points with BOSTON! |
05-19-17 | Cavs v. Celtics +6.5 | Top | 130-86 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 18 m | Show |
Cleveland at Boston 8:30 ET Celtics (+) over Cavaliers- From what I saw, from what we all saw in Game 1, I have a better understanding of why Cleveland just gave up the No. 1 seed the final two weeks of the regular season laying down and allowing Boston to get the home court advantage. It's obvious that the Cavaliers have no fear of the Celtics and feel the Lebron can dominate any time he wants. Little Super Star Isiah Thomas found it difficult to get open shots as James guarded him when possible and it was too much for Thomas to overcome. Tonight, Boston will Brad Stevens will make adjustments that get the Celtics the money. Take BOSTON! |
05-17-17 | Cavs v. Celtics +5 | Top | 117-104 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 15 m | Show |
Cleveland at Boston 8:00 ET Celtics (+) over Cavaliers- After going 8-0 and sweeping the first two playoff series 4-0, 4-0 Cleveland must shake off a nine-day rust entering Boston for this Game 1 Eastern Conference title. The media wants to know if having nine days off between this playoff series will effect the Cavaliers play. Players were given 'vacation time' (Lebron went to France) and many believe it will be difficult for them to 'get back' into the swing of things without rust. The Celtics meanwhile, are off their seven game series with Washington and are game ready. Take BOSTON! |
05-15-17 | Wizards +5 v. Celtics | Top | 105-115 | Loss | -105 | 23 h 52 m | Show |
Washington at Boston 8:00 ET Wizards (+) over Celtics- With a minute to go in Game 6 I thought this series was done! Boston had a five-point lead and the ball and I was thinking of Game 1 versus the Cavaliers. Then bingo as it happens to so many of these teams under pressure the Celtics start making mistakes and even though they got 'us' the money their performance late in that game has to linger on their minds. Yes, I am aware of the home team's record in this series (regular season too) they were 9-0 both straight-up and ATS before the Wizards non-cover victory on Friday, but that trend has ended now. With probably more overall talent the Wiz get the call. Take WASHINGTON! |
05-14-17 | Spurs v. Warriors -9.5 | Top | 111-113 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 9 m | Show |
San Antonio at Golden State 3:30 ET Warriors (-) over Spurs- The NBA world went into shock as the Spurs went to Houston without two key components Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard who are sidelined for Game 6. Playing without 40% of their starting lineup the Spurs as a 9-point underdog destroyed the Rockets 114-75 in the biggest playoff victory margin of the season. San Antonio took 2-of-3 meetings this season including an opening night 129-100 victory in October but this time around it's the Warriors that explode offensively. Take GOLDEN STATE! |
05-12-17 | Celtics +5 v. Wizards | Top | 91-92 | Win | 100 | 9 h 6 m | Show |
Boston at Washington 8:00 ET Celtics (+) over Wizards- Washington has been playing in spurts. Especially at home where they have won twice against the Celtics without a loss. After opening this series with a 16-0 run in Boston the Wizards lost the game by 123-111. In Game 3 and Game 4 at home they ran streaks of 22-0 and 26-0 in blowout victories. Home teams have had huge wins going 5-0 ATS so far but Boston is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall. This time out the trend ends. Take the CELTICS! Â |
05-11-17 | Spurs v. Rockets -7 | Top | 114-75 | Loss | -104 | 11 h 45 m | Show |
San Antonio at Houston 8:00 ET Rockets (-) over Spurs- Hold-on a minute...The Spurs who are the No. 2 seed in the West are a heavier underdog (+7) at Houston then the Rockets (+5.5) were at San Antonio. My first thoughts are that Kawhi Leonard is injury is more severe then we are being let-on. The Spurs were 2-0 at Houston during the regular season and are 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings there. James Harden the unstoppable force on the Rockets is off a terrible performance in Game 5 committing nine turnovers and shooting poorly. I expect that all to turn around tonight. Take HOUSTON! |
05-10-17 | Wizards +4.5 v. Celtics | 101-123 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 29 m | Show
Washington at Boston 8:00 ET Wizards (-) over Celtics- After reeling off six straight playoff victories including the first two games of this series the Celtics have taken in on the chin the last two in Washington. The Wizards won the last two contests (?) by a combined 46 points and that including a 26-0 run in Game 4 as Boston committed 20 turnovers. The flash and glory so far this series has been shinning on Isaiah Thomas who scored 53 points in Game 2 but was held to 32 total points in the two games in Washington as John Wall made his presence known by averaging 27.8 points, 12.3 assists and 2.8 steals. The Wiz have the confidence and man power to over come the Celtics here. Take WASHINGTON! |
05-09-17 | Rockets +5.5 v. Spurs | 107-110 | Win | 100 | 10 h 41 m | Show
Houston at San Antonio 8:00 ET Rockets (+) over Spurs- The Spurs are finding replacing the injured Tony Parker more difficult then they anticipated. Rookie Dejounte Murray starting for Parker has averaged just five points and 1.3 assists and backup Patty Mills averaged 13.5 points and 3.5 assists. These numbers are pedestrian and don't make for a winning playoff production. Houston lost like the Spurs lost a key component as their center Nene will be sidelined the remainder of the season with a groin injury. Rockets James Harden scored 71 points in his two home games but only 33 in San Antonio. That will change tonight. Take HOUSTON! |
05-08-17 | Warriors v. Jazz +8.5 | 121-95 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 26 m | Show
Golden State at Utah 9:00 ET Jazz (+) over Warriors- Well, Golden State who lost to Cleveland in the Finals last season can match the Cavaliers with their eighth straight playoff victory with a win tonight at Utah. Word is Warriors coach Steve Kerr might be able to return to the team before the end of the playoffs but it appears his club really doesn't need him much. This is a game where Klay Thompson had only one field goal and Curry was just 6-of-20 from the floor. In the 4th quarter of Game 3 Utah had a 1-point lead and within 30-seconds Durant, Curry and then Durant again hit 3-pointers that gave the Warriors a lead that they never relinquished. But, this time the prideful Jazz play a full 48 minutes. Take UTAH! |
05-07-17 | Spurs v. Rockets -5.5 | 104-125 | Win | 100 | 12 h 37 m | Show
San Antonio at Houston 9:00 ET Rockets (-) over Spurs- The veteran Spurs have shown their mettle by recovering from a 27-point loss in Game 1 of this series by bouncing back and winning the nest two by an average of 18 points. The Game 3 103-92 win at Houston was particularly impressive as San Antonio did it with All-Star Tony Parker who is out the rest of the season. The Spurs have don't it by not allowing the Rockets to get free for 3-point shots after Houston took 50 attempts in the series opening game. There are a couple of trends that Houston will have to buck as they are 1-7 ATS in their last eight home games with San Antonio 4-0 ATS in the last fur meetings in Houston. This time the Rockets blast off once again. Take HOUSTON! |
05-07-17 | Celtics +4.5 v. Wizards | Top | 102-121 | Loss | -107 | 9 h 7 m | Show |
Boston at Washington 6:30 ET Celtics (+) over Wizards- Scoring steaks have been the forte of the Wizards as they raced out to a 16-0 lead in Game 1 of this series (lost 123-111) and came on with a 22-0 run in the first quarter of Game 3 a 116-89 win. Washington has also become the 'physical' team in the series knocking out Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas' front teeth as he dropped from a high of 53 points to a low of 13. There were eight technical fouls and three ejections in Thursday's contest as tension rolled over from regular season issues. Two key trends bring the Celtics to the forefront as they are 6-1 ATS after losing by 10 points or more and they have won eight of the last 11 meetings. Take BOSTON! |
05-06-17 | Warriors v. Jazz +6 | Top | 102-91 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 37 m | Show |
Golden State at Utah 8:30 ET Jazz (+) over Warriors- Now, let me think about this...the thing that is on the minds of the Golden State Warriors is 'where can they party in Utah?' Yes, they have won the first two games of this series easily (0-2 ATS) and they are 6-0 ATS in their last six road games. We all understand the overall firepower of the Warriors but everything take a different perspective on the NBA playoff road. Take UTAH! |
05-05-17 | Spurs +5 v. Rockets | Top | 103-92 | Win | 100 | 11 h 35 m | Show |
San Antonio at Houston 9:39 ET Spurs (+) over Rockets- I know I've seen teams come back from losses in a big way but the 52-point turn around from Game 1 (Rockets win 126-99) and Game 2 (Spurs win 121-96) is the biggest swing in point differential I can remember. Now, San Antonio will be without point guard Tony Parker who is averaging 16 points in the playoffs will miss the rest of the season after he suffered a ruptured quadricep and the Spurs will have to adjust. The Rockets have struggled to 'cover' at home going 1-6 ATS in their last seven as hosts. Houston captured the Spurs attention with their humiliating Game 1 blowout loss and they have adjusted their style and intensity. Take SAN ANTONIO! |
05-05-17 | Cavs v. Raptors +4.5 | 115-94 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 57 m | Show
Cleveland at Toronto 7:00 ET Raptors (+) over Cavaliers- Like last season in the NBA playoffs Cleveland has taken a 2-0 lead with a pair of convincing home wins over the Raptors. After a pair of wins and non-covers in their opening series against Indiana the Cavaliers have reeled of four straight ATS wins and is 6-2 ATS against the Raptors in their last eight meetings. LeBron James has re-established the fact that he is the most dominating player in basketball as he has elevated his play averaging 34.2 points in the post-season. In 2016 after the Cavs took the first two at home and then went to Toronto and lost both games there before returning home and winning the series 4-2. Expect more of the same this time around. Take TORONTO! |
05-04-17 | Jazz +12.5 v. Warriors | 104-115 | Win | 100 | 12 h 52 m | Show
Utah at Golden State 10:30 ET Jazz (+) over Warriors- I've heard two different 'takes' off the Warriors Game 1 106-94 non-cover win. To tell the truth Golden State looked like they were in command through-out and were just toying with the Jazz and if not for poor 3-point shooting (7-of-29) and should have 'covered' easily. On the other side I hear 'hey, Gordon Hayward was just 4-of-15 scoring only 12 points and will come-back with a good game. I agree but that doesn't necessarily constitute a win. Not that it matters much but Steve Curry suffered a left ankle injury in game one and missed practice yesterday. They say he is 'all right' but with the Jazz 6-0 ATS in their last six road games I'll take UTAH! |
05-04-17 | Celtics +6 v. Wizards | Top | 89-116 | Loss | -107 | 9 h 14 m | Show |
Boston at Washington 8:00 ET Celtics (+) over Wizards- Since dropping the opening to playoff games to Chicago the Celtics have reeled off six straight wins and 'covers' as the entire team rallied around Isaiah Thomas' personal tragedy. Thomas scored 51 points on what would have been his sister's 23rd birthday and was almost matched by John Wall (40 points) until the final pressure minutes in the fourth quarter and overtime. Boston is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings and are 5-0 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win. Take BOSTON! |
05-03-17 | Rockets v. Spurs -5 | 96-121 | Win | 100 | 11 h 24 m | Show
Houston at San Antonio 9:30 ET Spurs (-) over Rockets- The Houston Rockets have turned their playoff series into a 3-point shooting contest (see Game 1) as they made 22-of-50 from beyond the arch winning their sixth consecutive playoff games in San Antonio. The problem for Houston is that they are 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a straight-up win of more then 10 points. The Rockets shot better (44%) from long range then the Spurs did from 2-point range (36.9%) as San Antonio rested their starters for more then 30 minutes each. This time out take the SPURS! Â |
05-03-17 | Raptors +7.5 v. Cavs | Top | 103-125 | Loss | -108 | 9 h 38 m | Show |
Toronto at Cleveland 7:00 ET Raptors (+) over Cavaliers- Well, I guess that answers that question...what question is that you ask? After a losing final month of the regular season it is, Can the Cavaliers just turn it on any time they want? Yep, it appears so. Cleveland has won five straight playoff games since their last regular season game (a home loss versus Toronto) covering the last three. Toronto now down 0-1 once again in playoff series has lost their opening game of a playoff series 12 of 13 times but they are 5-1 ATS after a straight-up loss. Take TORONTO! |
05-02-17 | Wizards v. Celtics -5.5 | Top | 119-129 | Win | 100 | 9 h 54 m | Show |
Washington at Boston 8:00 ET Celtics (-) over Wizards- After dropping their first two games to Chicago the Celtics have stormed back with five straight wins and covers. The Wizards defeated Atlanta in six-games as their guard based offense ran past the Hawks. Washington already realizes that their guards won't be able to dominate Boston's front court as Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart provide defense and scoring. The Wizards are just 2-7 ATS in the last nine meetings and are 0-6 ATS in their last six meetings in Boston! Take the CELTICS! |
05-01-17 | Rockets v. Spurs -5.5 | Top | 126-99 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 0 m | Show |
Houston at San Antonio 9:30 ET Spurs (-) over Rockets- Last season the Rockets James Harden claimed that 'he' was the MVP and this year he said it again. Only, this year he went head-to-head with his 'MVP' competition in the playoffs getting the best of Russell Westbrook and now he up against one of the 'other' MVP choices in Kawhi Leonard. Teams win Championships not individuals and the Spurs have a deeper team. Houston led the NBA in 3-point attempts per game but San Antonio led the NBA in 3-point percentage (39.1%) while the Rockets shot 28.4%. Tonight, that will be the difference. Take SAN ANTONIO! Â |
04-30-17 | Jazz +3.5 v. Clippers | Top | 104-91 | Win | 100 | 7 h 42 m | Show |
Utah at L.A. Clippers 3:30 ET Jazz (+) over Clippers- Okay, so the Clippers won a game they 'had to win' and kudos to them but I'm still not a believer. The question is are they better without Blake Griffin as the numbers might indicate or are they riding on a fragile point guard that I have yet to see do it. Now, that has been said about many athletes until the win...but, some never do! The question on the Utah side is can Rudy Gobert who has been hobbled with knee injuries can fend off DeAndre Jordan. Gordon Hayward does not crack under pressure. Take the JAZZ! |
04-30-17 | Wizards v. Celtics -4.5 | 111-123 | Win | 100 | 4 h 9 m | Show
Washington at Boston 1:00 ET Celtics (-) over Wizards- After dropping the first two games at home the No. 1 seed Celtics steamrolled the Bulls 105-83 in Chicago Friday. Washington is a guard orientated team that is lead by two good ones and sometimes unstoppable in their own wright with John Wall and Bradley Beal. Beal averaged 30 points in the final three games against Atlanta but the Celtics have a counter. It could be Avery Bradley but it is more likely Isiah Thomas who averaged 29 points this season. Thomas is off the emotional roll-a-coaster that started with Game 1 and will lead the way. Take BOSTON! |

04-28-17 | Clippers v. Jazz -5.5 | 98-93 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 15 m | Show
L.A. Clippers at Utah 10:30 ET Jazz (-) over Clippers- What did you expect the Clippers to actually put up a fight when they are given a chance to lay-down. The excuses are already in place, another case of getting an opportunity to blame injuries on their poor play. We have heard this story out of them a number of times during the post season the past handful of years. Utah is the kind of team that spurs on after a win going 3-0-1 ATS after a win. Add that Los Angeles is 6-16-1 ATS in their last 23 meetings in Utah. Jazz win third straight tonight and end the series. Take the JAZZ! |
04-28-17 | Celtics v. Bulls +3 | Top | 105-83 | Loss | -111 | 9 h 52 m | Show |
Boston at Chicago 8:00 ET Bulls (+) over Celtics- The Bulls jumped out to a quick start (2-0) in this No.1 versus No. 8 opening round matchup but Boston has rebounded into position to close the series with what could be their fourth straight win here. The Celtics started the series with heavy emotional baggage as the death of the 21-year old sister of All-Star guard Isiah Thomas and dropped the first two at home. Jimmy Butler the Bulls leading scorer when to the free throw line one once in Game 4 in Boston after going to the line 23 times in Chicago in Game 4. Both Butler and the Bulls will rebound tonight. Take CHICAGO! |
04-28-17 | Wizards +3 v. Hawks | 115-99 | Win | 100 | 8 h 25 m | Show
Washington at Atlanta 7:30 ET Wizards (+) over Hawks- All season long I have been 'touting' the fact that I don't believe the Hawks can win close games down the stretch and they proved me right in Game 5 as they failed to score in the final 68 seconds making decision errors. The Wizards were the best team in the NBA the final two months which coincided with the return of Bradley Beal who combined with John Wall have one of the most formidable back courts in basketball. Although Atlanta is 5-0 ATS in their last five home games that streak of 'covers' ends here. Take WASHINGTON! |
04-27-17 | Spurs v. Grizzlies +4.5 | Top | 103-96 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 26 m | Show |
San Antonio at Memphis 9:30 ET Grizzlies (+) over Spurs- The home team is 5-0 in this Best-of-7 series both straight-up and ATS as the Grizzlies enter Game 6 down 3-2. Memphis held 'service' as well during the regular season as they have have won the last four meetings and 'covered' when hosting. Defense is the key for Memphis as they held the Spurs to 42.4% shooting at home while allowing the Spurs to shoot 52.2% in San Antonio. The Grizzlies lead the playoff teams in free throw shooting hitting 87.8%. Take MEMPHIS! |
04-26-17 | Hawks +6 v. Wizards | Top | 99-103 | Win | 100 | 8 h 47 m | Show |
Atlanta at Washington 6:00 ET Hawks (+) over Wizards- It's sort of like a 'Tale of Two Cities' with both clubs holding serve and winning at home. Now, that is not so unusual in the NBA but the manner in which the home teams won left no doubt. But, after the way Atlanta rebounded from an 0-2 deficit with Paul Millsap dominating in the paint and Dwight Howard contributing defensively the Hawks are brimming with confidence. Washington was outscored in the paint 104-64 in Atlanta and tho they will sure-up that area of need it won't be enough. Take ATLANTA! |
04-25-17 | Thunder v. Rockets -7.5 | Top | 99-105 | Loss | -103 | 13 h 52 m | Show |
Oklahoma City at Houston 8:00 ET Rockets (-) over Thunder- All season long I have had problems playing 'on' the Thunder believing that one man can not defeat five players. On Sunday, I thought that Russell Westbrook's supporting cast could do enough to win at home in critical Game 4...I was wrong! The trouble here is that Westbrook can take his team just so far and if he doesn't have a clutch 4th quarter Oklahoma City has no chance. One can make the point that the Rockets are just 1-5 ATS in their last six home games but we see that the Thunder are just 3-13 ATS in their last 16 trips to Houston. Take the ROCKETS! |
04-24-17 | Bucks v. Raptors -6 | 93-118 | Win | 100 | 11 h 15 m | Show
Milwaukee at Toronto 7:00 ET Raptors (-) over Bucks- After Sunday's debacle it's difficult to post anything with much confidence but we will forge ahead just the same. It appears that the Raptors have 'righted the ship' so to speak as DeMar DeRozan returned to form. After getting shut out from the field in Game 3 DeRozan show why he is an All-star by scoring 33 points in Game 4. Milwaukee's budding superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is starting to show signs of wear and tear as this series gets more physical each game. Returning home should help the Raptors 3-point shooting which at 31.3 percent. Take TORONTO! |
04-23-17 | Clippers +2.5 v. Jazz | 98-105 | Loss | -103 | 13 h 41 m | Show
L.A. Clippers at Utah 9:00 ET Clippers (-) over Jazz- Here 'we' go again. Friday, I explained how much I like the Jazz and don't really care too much for the Clippers and yet posted the winner with Los Angeles. Now, am I going to the well too often? Not, really because it's just the second time but I still feel uneasy. The Blake Griffin situation brings more doubt into the equation. Still, the Clippers are 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings in Salt Lake City and they are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against teams with a home winning record. It looks difficult but they are the side...at least for me! Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-23-17 | Celtics v. Bulls +3 | 104-95 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 10 m | Show
Boston at Chicago 6:30 ET Bulls (+) over Celtics- When the Game 3 price opened with Chicago the favorite we told the 0-2 (series) Celtics who ran to the favorite and the ran the Bulls off the floor. Now, Boston has opened the favorite and the 'running of the Bulls' will be headed in the opposite direction. The trends for this contest point one one direction. To start with the Celtics are 0-4 ATS in their last four games following an ATS win, they are 1-6 ATS after a win by 10 points or more and finally Boston is 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 meetings in the 'Windy City.' I could also add that Chicago is 7-0 ATS in their last seven games following a straight-up loss. It may be hard to do but...take the BULLS! |
04-22-17 | Warriors v. Blazers +6.5 | Top | 119-113 | Win | 100 | 15 h 23 m | Show |
Golden State at Portland 10:30 ET Trailblazers (+) over Warriors- I know this will be a tough on to take after what we have all witnessed the two games of this series. It has not gone like the No.1 versus No. 8 series between Boston and Chicago as it has gone the way most expect a No.1 seed to dominate a No. 8 seed. Even without Kevin Durant (they played plenty without him this season) their was little adjustment needed. The Warriors started to turn it on with about 10 games remaining and have gone 5-0 both straight-up and ATS in their last five road games. They have also had success in Portland going 11-5 ATS in their last 16 at the Moda Center. But, with that being said I see all to often when a team gets humiliated like that on national TV they come back with a focus and a purpose that is difficult to deal with. The Trailblazers are 5-0 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss. Take PORTLAND! |
04-22-17 | Spurs v. Grizzlies +4 | 108-110 | Win | 100 | 13 h 46 m | Show
San Antonio at Memphis 8:00 ET Grizzlies (+) over Spurs- Many will see the Grizzlies win Thursday night was just one of the anomalies that happen and that San Antonio will simply come-to-play Saturday and win easily. Because, how can they lose again...maybe it will be the officiating that will spell the difference. The Spurs maybe well rested as none of their five starters played more then 30 minutes in the loss but they didn't play well. Memphis had lost 10 straight post-season games before Thursday's win and the liked the way it felt. The Grizzlies are growling and brimming with confidence as they are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings at home and 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall. Take the MEMPHIS! |
04-22-17 | Raptors +2.5 v. Bucks | 87-76 | Win | 100 | 8 h 49 m | Show
Toronto at Milwaukee 3:00 ET Raptors over Bucks- This really pains me because of how much I like the Bucks and dislike the Raptors. (I mean as far as teams go) Toronto fell into that woe-is-me attitude after missing some early shots and never played hard enough to get back into after Milwaukee built and early lead. (See Cavaliers) All-Nothing guard DeMar DeRozan failed to make a basket from the field and Kyle Lowry said they can recover because the the terrible feeling their performance left them with. I know that the Bucks are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings and believe it's time for the Raptors to go on the attack. Take TORONTO! |
04-21-17 | Rockets +2.5 v. Thunder | 113-115 | Win | 100 | 13 h 43 m | Show
Houston at Oklahoma City 9:30 ET Rockets (+) over Thunder- Houston is not having trouble winning games but they are having difficulty 'covering' games going 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games overall. But, when they play in Oklahoma City they raise their effort to get it done as they are 5-0 ATS in their last five games on Oklahoma and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 meetings. Of course most believe that ball-hog and triple-double king Russell Westbrook is just so good that he can carry the Thunder on his back. Well, guess what the last triple-double ball hog Oscar Robertson never won anything either. (EVER!) James Harden can post triple-double of his own and has more team support. Take HOUSTON! Â |
04-21-17 | Celtics +1.5 v. Bulls | Top | 104-87 | Win | 100 | 10 h 15 m | Show |
Boston at Chicago 7:00 ET Celtics (+) over Bulls- Entering this series their was so much talk of how the Celtics under Brad Stevens leadership are 2-10 in the playoffs and haven't won a road playoff game. Well, he better win one quick after Boston's 'home' performances in the first two NBA playoff games. The No. 1 seed is down 0-2 and were totally out-played by the Bulls who had to win a tie-breaker over Miami to qualify for the post-season. Adding fuel to the fire Boston isn just 9-19-2 ATS in their last 30 meetings against the Bulls and 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 games in Chicago. Yep, I know it, but I also know that of the Celtics don't win here they are toast. Take BOSTON! |
04-20-17 | Spurs v. Grizzlies +4 | Top | 94-105 | Win | 100 | 12 h 22 m | Show |
San Antonio at Memphis 9:30 ET Grizzlies (+) over Spurs- If Memphis is to have any chance of getting past the Spurs (fat chance) they will have to score more then 82 points which they posted in both Games 1 & 2 as the trail the series 0-2. The hoards who believe that it is Kawhi Leonard who is the MVP have been supported by his play making ALL 28 free throws that he has attempted while scoring 69 points in the two games. Memphis who was 2-0 at home against San Antonio during the regular season but are 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. This time the Grizzlies compete four 48 minutes. Take MEMPHIS! |
04-20-17 | Raptors +1.5 v. Bucks | 77-104 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 45 m | Show
Toronto at Milwaukee 8:00 ET Raptors (+) over Bucks- The 'Greek Freak' destroyed the Raptors in Game 1 as Milwaukee posted an upset win but, in Game 2 Toronto made the necessary adjustments not allowing him room in the paint and recored a 106-100 win. Although the series in now tied 1-1 the Raptors are 0-2 ATS and have their work cut out for themselves to survive here. Milwaukee hasn't won a playoff series since 2001 and are just 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings at home. Add that the Raptors are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games gives the reptiles the edge. Take TORONTO! |
04-20-17 | Cavs v. Pacers +3 | 119-114 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 34 m | Show
Cleveland at Indiana 7:00 ET Pacers (+) over Cavaliers- Before this series started it was LeBron James that called out his teammates and after starting the series 0-2 it is the Pacers' Paul George that has called out his teammates for their effort and performance. Lance Stephenson, Myles Turner and C.J Miles were the brunt of his frustration as as Indiana lost its composure. The Cavaliers J.R. Smith will most likely miss this contest due to a hamstring injury as Indiana has the home court advantage. Yes, it is Indiana that is 29-12 at home while the Cavs are under .500 on the road at 20-21 straight-up. As a matter of fact Cleveland is just 2-10-1 ATS in the last 13 meetings and 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight meetings in Indiana. Take the PACERS! |
04-19-17 | Blazers v. Warriors -13.5 | 81-110 | Win | 100 | 13 h 19 m | Show
Portland at Golden State 10:30 ET Warriors (-) over Trailblazers- Golden State has so many super-stars with Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson and yet it was Draymond Green who dominated play with 19 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists, five blocks and three steals in their 121-109 loss in Game 1. Portland has two dynamic guards in Daminan Lillard who scored 34 points in Game 1 and CJ McCollum had 41 but the rest of the team scored just 34. Portland always seems to struggle on the road where they are 16-27 and are 7-20 ATS in their last 27 meetings in Golden State. Lay-it! Take the WARRIORS! |
04-19-17 | Thunder +8 v. Rockets | Top | 111-115 | Win | 100 | 11 h 47 m | Show |
Oklahoma City at Houston 8:00 ET Thunder (+) over Rockets- There were no triple-doubles in Game 1 between James Harden and Russell Westbrook as the Rockets ran past Oklahoma City in the second half and won by 31 points. Not only was Westbrook shooting poorly (6-23) and turning the ball over (9) but the Thunder were out-rebounded 56-41 in Sunday's 118-87 loss. The two MVP candidates will once again give it their all but Oklahoma City is in a pressure situation. Houston who beats the Rockets like a drum (10-1 ATS in last 11) but they haven't done it of late going 1-9 ATS in their last 10 overall. Take THUNDER! |
04-19-17 | Hawks +5.5 v. Wizards | Top | 101-109 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 50 m | Show |
Atlanta at Washington 7:00 ET Hawks (+) over Wizards- After Game 1 a 114-107 win by Washington the Hawks were complaining that the Wizards were playing tough and fouling every chance they got. Atlanta went to the free throw line 39 times and don't like that because they are so weak on fundamentals like shooting free throws. Now, which is better the Hawks getting fouled or the Grizzlies against the Spurs not getting any calls. Maybe if Atlanta didn't commit 21 turnovers they would have a chance. The NBA's most-over-rated player Dwight Howard scored just seven points Sunday and will have to step it up here. Ha, I think he will. Take the HAWKS! |
04-18-17 | Jazz v. Clippers -9 | 91-99 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 44 m | Show
Utah at L.A. Clippers 10:30 ET Clippers (-) over Jazz- The Jazz jumped out to a 1-0 series lead after Joe Johnson hit a buzzer-beating shot that gave the Jazz a 97-95 win. But, the news wasn't all good for Utah as they lost center Rudy Gobert for at least Game 2 with a knee injury. Granted the Jazz played most of the entire game without him in the line-up but now the Clippers know what they have to contend with. Despite the loss the Clippers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven meetings and with Gobert out they will get it right here. Take LOS ANGELES! |
