03-31-18 | White Sox -105 v. Royals | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 36 m | Show
Taking the WHITE SOX. Had these guys Opening Day, and will grab them again. KC is in for a long year. They send out Ian Kennedy who was 1-8 with an ERA over 6 at home. Giolito had a nice 7 game debut with the Sox last year. Obviously looking to build on that as he excellent during the Spring posting a .85 WHIP .169 BAA and 2.02 ERA striking out 17 in 17 innings (4 walks). Confidence is high after spotting KC a 4-0 lead and winning 14-7. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOXÂ |
|||||||
03-31-18 | Yankees v. Blue Jays +100 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 6 h 50 m | Show
Taking the BLUE JAYS. Had Toronto against Sevie, will take them vs CC. This is just a fade of CC. I think last year was a fluke. Guy is at the end of his career. And it was a very good one to say the least. But I think the Jays break out on offense vs the big guy this afternoon. 4* Money Maker TORONTO BLUE JAYSÂ |
|||||||
03-31-18 | Nationals v. Reds +155 | 13-7 | Loss | -100 | 16 h 8 m | Show
Taking the REDS here. Easy to think Nats. I won't ever lay heavy numbers on the road, so I can see where a RL on Washington might be enticing. But as bad as the Reds are expected to be, they still can hit the ball a bit. Now, losing 2-0 to Scherzer isn't bad. I am more impressed that they allowed just 2 runs. They scraped together 7 hits yesterday. Strasburgh has a pedestrian 4.40 ERA in 8 starts vs Cincy. A 4.50 in 2 starts last year. Luis Castillo was pretty impressive as a rookie last year. A 3.12 ERA in 15 starts (3-7 record) with a 1.07 WHIP and .202 BA against. He gave up 5 runs in 11 innings while striking out 11 in his 2 starts vs Nats last year. Worth a shot at this price. 4* Money Maker CINCINNATI REDSÂ |
|||||||
03-31-18 | Cardinals +116 v. Mets | 2-6 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 14 m | Show
Taking the CARDINALS here. So DeGrom had some back issues this Spring. Hello! This is the Mets. Their medical staff is like the Keystone Cops. I am not going to list the litany of misdiagnosis on this franchise recent past. DeGrom also off career highs in innings (strikeouts + starts too) so interested to see how he holds up season long. Cards off that ugly Opening Day loss. CMart walked 6, 9 total in the game. 2 Wild Pitches. An Error. Just a bad game in every aspect. STL is better than that. Small dog worth the play. 4* Money Maker STL CARDINALSÂ |
|||||||
03-30-18 | Giants +150 v. Dodgers | 1-0 | Win | 150 | 10 h 38 m | Show
Taking the GIANTS. They stole won against the best last night. What stands out is the lack of offense from LAD. Cueto has strong early season numbers. Giants, down their ace, might have a little pep in their step tonight. Unlike some teams on day 2. These guys are looking to rally around something. People counting them out down Mad-Bum. Wood has a career ERA over 5 vs San Fran. Cueto counters with a 2.67 number here at Chavez Revine. 4* Money Maker SF GIANTSÂ |
|||||||
03-30-18 | Phillies -103 v. Braves | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 12 m | Show
Taking the PHILLIES. Oh. Hot seat time out of the bat for new Philly HC. Taking out your starter after 68 pitches? I think the Phils are better. At this price, I am willing to think they bounce back after a tough loss. It's day 2. If this was some huge September game I would think that it would be a deflating game to bounce back from. 4* Money Maker PHILADELPHIA PHILLES |
|||||||
03-30-18 | Red Sox v. Rays +130 | 1-0 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 54 m | Show
Taking the RAYS here. Nice rally yesterday against the bullpen for Tampa. In this spot, I think Price and Snell are pretty equal pitchers. Snell might be a bit underrated in the eyes of many. Not a big name like Price. Will side with the Rays as the Price is right on the home dogs. 4* Money Maker TAMPA BAY RAYSÂ |
|||||||
03-30-18 | Cubs v. Marlins +190 | 1-2 | Win | 190 | 7 h 50 m | Show
Taking the MARLINS. Thought about grabbing these guys yesterday. Lester is someone I will look to fade if we are getting a nice price. Yeah, Cubbies can hit. Not going to deny that. But Hendricks is another arm that I will look to go against sometimes. He just doesn't have that 'wow' stuff. Margin of error for me, getting nearly 2-1, worth a shot on the dogs. Caleb Smith is a youngster. I have see very good teams struggle facing new starters. He had a nice season at Triple A last year with 102KS in 100 innings and a 2.39 ERA. 4* Money Maker MIAMI MARLINSÂ |
|||||||
03-29-18 | Rockies +101 v. Diamondbacks | 2-8 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 21 m | Show
Taking the ROCKIES. Like the signings for the bullpen. This is a pretty good team. As always, like most teams. It is about starting pitching. We get a pair of early MVP guys in Arenado and Goldy in the new 'humidor' park in Arizona. Should be interesting to see how that plays out this year. Look. The Arizona lineup has a glaring whole where JD was. A lot to ask replace that kind of production. And unlike the Rox, the Dback bullpen is a little less secure. A lot trends point to Corbin and Arizona. But the line is telling me that Colorado is the play tonight. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIESÂ |
|||||||
03-29-18 | White Sox +142 v. Royals | 14-7 | Win | 142 | 20 h 31 m | Show
Taking the WHITE SOX. First write up of the year in MLB! Look. Like these guys. Posted them on the site way back at the end of February to go over their 68.5, and I don't think KC will get to far past their 71. Now, both teams had good Springs. I really don't worry about bad Spring ERAs. Shields was over 6, Duffy over 8. What stands out for me is that Duffy also had 9 walks and 4 HRs in his starts. Both teams in rebuild, but Sox already with a year under their belts and the players ready to move into to the next step. KC lost Hosmer and Cain in the off-season, and now Perez to an injury. Nice dog here for us to start the season. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOXÂ |
|||||||
03-29-18 | Angels v. A's +120 | 5-6 | Win | 120 | 18 h 30 m | Show
Taking OAKLAND. Everyone down on these guys and loving the Halos. I get it. Trout. The new guy who is suppose to pitch and hit like Ruth. They got Upton back. Cozart and Kinsler. But this is about Richards. 12 starts the last 2 years. 12.2 innings in Spring. Hasn't pitched since the 12th. A's gritty. This team has some pop. I think they sneak up on people and it starts Opening Day. 4* Money Maker OAKLAND As |
|||||||
03-29-18 | Yankees v. Blue Jays +138 | 6-1 | Loss | -100 | 18 h 40 m | Show
Taking the BLUE JAYS. I know the Yanks have a couple guys in the lineup who are suppose to hit about 100 HRs this season. This is one game. Happ looked pretty good in the Spring. The old veteran needed to be sharp after a poor 2017. That was a team wide bad for Toronto. Though Happ did beat the Yanks twice last year allowing 2 runs in nearly 12 innings of work. Sevie was 0-1 allow 7 runs in his 2 starts vs the Jays. Jays have some bats. I know Sevie is off a break-out season. At this price, Jays worth it. They are 14-5 last 19 here vs NYY and Happ has won 8 of his last 9 starts vs New York including 4 of 5 here at home. 4* Money Maker TORONTO BLUE JAYSÂ |
|||||||
03-29-18 | Twins +114 v. Orioles | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 18 h 41 m | Show
Taking the TWINS this afternoon. So we have mixed Springs from the pitchers. A pretty good one from Jake. A not so pretty one from Dylan. But Bundy's improved after his miserable 3 starts. That being said, Minny a trendy pick this year. What a breakout last year that nobody saw coming. We aren't laying anything. Taking back a little plus money. I know the O's can hit. But I think their bullpen, once their strength, is missing Britton. The starters had a league worse ERA last season (5.70). Give me the small puppy. 4* Money Maker MINNESOTA TWINSÂ |
|||||||
10-31-17 | Astros +108 v. Dodgers | 1-3 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 52 m | Show
Taking the ASTROS tonight. Can't back Hill. Just trying to figure out why he Hill hasn't gone more than 5 innings or 80 pitches this post-season. Were they saving him so he can go 8+ tonight? Verlander. What a run. 4-0 2 ERA so far this postseason. 9-0 1.53 ERA since coming to Houston. 4* Money Maker HOUSTON ASTROSÂ |
|||||||
10-28-17 | Dodgers +124 v. Astros | 6-2 | Win | 124 | 11 h 54 m | Show
4* Money Maker LA DODGERS |
|||||||
10-27-17 | Dodgers +124 v. Astros | 3-5 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 22 m | Show
Taking the DODGERS tonight. Even after the Houston bats pounced on our LAD bullpen, I think we still hold the edge in that scope of the game. And the fact that LA had been absolutely flawless through the playoffs gives me reason to have faith in that belief. Yu Darvish is no stranger to the Astros, Texas, or Minute Maid Park. 4-1 2.61 ERA in 6 career games here with a .74 WHIP helps our cause tonight. So enter McCullers for Houston. 3 games, 2 starts. Against the Sox, 2 earned in 3 innings getting lifted after allowing 3 hits and 2 walks. Pitched a gem against the Yanks, and continued it in 4 innings of relief. But as good as that was, I still have my doubts. He had a 2.69 ERA end of June. End of the regular season it was 4.25. I guess you have to hit the DL for a month when you post an ERA approaching 10 in July in 4 starts. I guess he improved to an ERA near 7 in his 3 September starts. So maybe he is back in his May form that saw him give up 4 runs in 6 starts spanning 36+ innings for a .99 ERA. Darvish had a 2.49 ERA in 10 away games for Texas and a 2.30 ERA in 5 away games for LA. I know everyone was waiting for the Astro bats to come alive. But LA has a couple decent bats themselves. Have to grab LA as a dog here based on the value of the team and their starter tonight. 4* Money Maker LA DODGERSÂ |
|||||||
10-24-17 | Astros v. Dodgers -165 | Top | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 24 h 34 m | Show |
Taking the DODGERS. Would have liked to put this out when it was a bit cheaper. And this is really top end of where I want to be with any MLB fave. I will probably sprinkle some +135 RL on this also. Look. We all know about how Kershaw has poor postseason numbers. I will say, 5 HRs is a bit concerning this playoff run. But on the whole, HRs are up across the board in MLB and even the best pitchers have been serving up long bombs. Google a great article on Randy Johnson/ Kershaw postseason from Sporting News. He has had really 2 bad games in his 21 post season games. 15 earned in 2 starts. 4 inning 7 earned vs Cards in 2013. And 8 earned in 6.2 innings vs Cards in 2014 vs the Cards again. - So on to this series. As much as I like Keuchel, the guy is a different pitcher away from home. It is just that simple. 3.53 ERA road this year (2.26 home)Â -5.42 last year (3.60) - 3.77 in 2015 (1.46) - 3.04 in 2014 (2.79) . In 2013 he had 10 relieve appearances with his starts. But in 2012 his rookie year, 11.10 road ERA in 6 starts, and again 2.95 at home in 10 starts. Not saying he is getting shelled for 5 in 3 innings. But I think LAD can get some runs. And the clear edge of the Dodgers in the bullpen will probably be the difference maker in this series. 5* Best Bet LA DODGERSÂ |
|||||||
10-20-17 | Yankees +124 v. Astros | 1-7 | Loss | -100 | 37 h 1 m | Show
Taking the YANKEES today. No way the Astros lose 4 straight after 100+ win year right? No way Houston drops 4 straight, at home no-less. With Verlander? The guy has been awesome since the trade. Well. I will take a shot with Sevie as a small dog. Yanks again, like our last win on them, playing with house money. The noose is tight for Houston. No hitting at all. Batting .147 this series. Outscored 21-9. Yanks knock off another 100 win club en rout to the World Series. 4* Money Maker NY YANKEESÂ |
|||||||
10-19-17 | Dodgers -155 v. Cubs | 11-1 | Win | 100 | 11 h 33 m | Show
Taking the DODGERS here. Lost last night with LA, but will lay it today with Kershaw. I don't think I have laid this much on a fave all year in MLB action. This Cubs team just has not been hitting the ball this series. One regular, Almora, hitting better than .214 this postseason. BETTER THAN 214! As a team, .163 vs the Dodgers this series. Almora again, heads and shoulders above his teammates facing LAD as he is hitting .250, next best, .222. I like Quintana, and getting the defending champs at this price as a dog is tempting. I just don't think you 'flip the switch' vs a guy like Kershaw, even with his poor post-season numbers. 4* Money Maker LA DODGERSÂ |
|||||||
10-18-17 | Dodgers +106 v. Cubs | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 6 m | Show
Taking the DODGERS here. How can we not take these guys again. Cashed last night and scored with the miracle under. That being said, put a fork in the Cubbies. Maddon has no answers in the bullpen. Sticks with guys too long. Doesn't go to others. Arrieta probably in his last Cubs game barring a miracle. Not the same pitcher. Simply put. How can you list the Dodgers as a dog right now? They can wrap this up and have a nice rest for World Series play. 4* Money Maker LA DODGERSÂ |
|||||||
10-18-17 | Astros v. Yankees +104 | 0-5 | Win | 104 | 7 h 31 m | Show
Taking the YANKEES today. Had these guys RL yesterday. Will back Tanaka this afternoon. Bad manager move by the 'Stros yesterday opens the door for a big NY comeback. That is a tough loss. Big mental hurdle for Houston. I am putting aside Keuchel's great postseason numbers, including his Wild-Card here a couple years ago when we cashed on the visitors. Road splits in our favor as Keuchel a pedestrian 3.53 ERA in 12 road starts (8-2). Tanaka's post season numbers not bad either (2.00 ERA in 3 starts .89 WHIP) and we have nice decent numbers this season. 3.22 ERA in 15 starts (9-5). He has been dealing his last 3 including 0 runs in 7 his last regular season start, and 1.38 ERA in his 2 postseason starts .69 WHIP and .159 BAA. Fact is Houston not hitting at all right now. Yanks feeling good playing with house money. Pressure clearly mounting for the Astros. 4* Money Maker NY YANKEES |

10-16-17 | Astros +122 v. Yankees | 1-8 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 2 m | Show
Taking the ASTROS tonight. So MLB faves are something like 19-4 this postseason. It is safe to say it has not been a great playoff run for us, although we did hit some RL games early last round. In this spot, I think the value is on Houston. I am in NJ. I like the Yanks. I have the 'local' flavor of how people perceive things. But when the locals and the talking heads agree that this is going to be a 'series' and the Yanks came back against 100+ win Indians team, well, I am against that line of thinking. First off. Tanaka and Sevie have better stuff than CC right now. I don't think he will be able to dance around this lineup. I think it is clear after the last 2 years that the Indians have a real problem closing out teams. This Astros team is built for right now. They are good. I can't take last series and apply it to this one. Yea, Yanks playing with house money. But honestly, I can see a sweep here depending how this game goes tonight. A really tough loss and I think that NYY is flat in Game 4. We might have a shot at some in-game betting to salvage this dog if things get ugly early. That being said though, I can see the Astros hitters getting through against CC tonight. 4* Money Maker HOUSTON ASTROSÂ |

10-12-17 | Cubs v. Nationals +120 | 9-8 | Loss | -100 | 20 h 15 m | Show
Taking the NATIONALS today. So, before the rain-out I was on the Cubbies and the Under. No premium play in NLDS yesterday, but we did cash nicely with the big dog Yanks and the Under. For tonight though, really like the Nats. I think the whole thing with Stras, and Dusty, the mold. All that crap. Dusty can't manage. Nats choke. Stras is sick. Not a gamer. I think the rain out really had these guys come together. I think they are focused and will take care of business. To start the series, I was on the Cubs. We had them in Games 1&2. But something has happened and this team is alive. They hit the Cubbies big closer in Wade Davis. They got to Lester. I like Hendricks. But I don't see him going 8 tonight. I'm on the dogs here. 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON NATIONALSÂ |

10-11-17 | Yankees +174 v. Indians | 5-2 | Win | 174 | 23 h 59 m | Show
Taking the YANKEES tonight. We have been on the Indians most of this series. But that changes tonight. It is easy to say no way that NY gets to Kluber like they did in Game 2. It is easy to say no way the Indians rock the Yankees bullpen like they did in Game 2. So we are back to square one. CC will be on a short leash for sure. Yanks with an array of arms ready to come in. From Sonny Gray, down to Chapman at the end of the pen. Indians for the 2nd year in row having trouble closing out a series they had controlled. Yanks though have been the better team so far overall in the series. I will also be on the under tonight. But I see this one being settled in the middle innings with the NY staff holding the Tribe bats in check. Lindor 1 hit in the series. Albeit a GS. Brantley, 1 hit in the series. Chisenhall, 1 hit. Eddie E, injured. Jose Ramirez, 2 hits. This is going to go down as a monster upset when the Yanks pull this out. Not sure this team responds to the pressure. The noose is tightening. Yanks playing with house money. 4* Money Maker NY YANKEESÂ |

10-09-17 | Dodgers v. Diamondbacks +100 | 3-1 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 17 m | Show
Taking ARIZONA tonight. I thought ARZ had a shot at taking out LA. They had played them well during the regular season. But this postseason has been anything but normal for me. I can't even auto-play unders anymore with the way these 'good' teams pitching staffs have delivered! That being said. Not a fan of Darvish. Hasn't pitched in 2 weeks. His 2 post season starts, 0-2 5.04 ERA. 3 runs. 2 earned in 6.2 innings 2012. 5 earned in 5 innings 2016. Greinke off a bad outing in the Wild Card. That being said. With their backs against the wall, I expect the DBacks to claw out a win in this series. 4* Money Maker ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKSÂ |

10-09-17 | Indians +152 v. Yankees | 3-7 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 12 m | Show
Taking the INDIANS tonight. A 104 win team getting this kind of number. I know what you are thinking. They are huge dogs because Sevy is tough as nails. Yes he is. But I don't know what kind of playoff makeup this kid has. Tribe has been here before. Nearly won the World Series last year. Maybe should have. Bauer was sharp against NYY. Normally I like to play on pitchers who were shelled their last start against the same team when they play. I just think that no Chapman for the Yanks will hurt. Betances, as much as I like the kid, is a wild card. Indians have the bullpen edge today. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANSÂ |
|||||||
10-09-17 | Nationals -115 v. Cubs | 1-2 | Loss | -115 | 5 h 24 m | Show
Taking the NATS here. Have to back Scherzer at this price. Guy is a beast. I know he is making first start since his hammy. But the road splits. 10-2 1.86 ERA 16 starts. .81 WHIP - .156 BA Against. I do like Quintana. Guy had been as steady over the years as you can be. But this year, not so much. And for what it's worth, he has struggled a bit at Wrigley. 1-4 5.01 ERA in 8 starts. 43 hits in 44 innings, but 10 HRs and 19 walks. This Nats team can make you pay. 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON NATIONALSÂ |

10-06-17 | Cubs +148 v. Nationals | 3-0 | Win | 148 | 9 h 57 m | Show
Taking the CUBS here. We made some nice coin fading the Cubbies early. But they have changed gears as the season progress. The World Series hangover was real. This is a good club. Maddon is a great manager. Clear edge on the bench for us in this series. Hendricks with a .96 ERA his last 3 starts. Solid postseason numbers of 2.38 ERA in 7 starts. A 2.83 ERA on the road this year while 3.20 at home. Strasburg was a beast with a .86 ERA in 10 starts since the all-star break. So this isn't easy money. But at this price, I think we have to take a stab on the dogs here. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO CUBSÂ |
|||||||
10-06-17 | Red Sox +167 v. Astros | 2-8 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 25 m | Show
Taking the SOX here. Easy win last night with the Astros. Guess I should have gone RL. Here and with that Indians win. But, coulda, woulda, shoulda. This is it for Boston. Best chance at a win in this series. Can't come back down 0-2 vs a 100 win team with Rick Porcello on deck to save your season. Pomeranz had a very nice year. Strong road split. 7-3 3.19 ERA 15 starts. I like Keuchel. He has 9.88 ERA in 3 games, 2 starts vs Boston. But let's take that with a grain of salt. For me, this is about the Sox 'circling the wagons' on their season. They were just blasted yesterday. I'll take a shot at this price on the road dog. 4* Money Maker BOSTON RED SOXÂ |

10-05-17 | Yankees v. Indians -130 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 12 h 25 m | Show
Taking the INDIANS here. Really want to do what we did with Arizona last night and go RL +160. But I am looking for a fast 2-0 start here with early Sox / Stros and this game. So. We all saw NY on Tuesday. This is a play as much on the use of the 'pen as it is on the fact that the Tribe have the best 'pen. Have people forgot that Cleveland is 34-4 their last 38 games. And laying this number? I don't think this is a long layoff from Sunday. They were playing for home field down the stretch. We were on them in the World Series last year and missed by a hair. This is a very good team. I like the Yanks. I am in their back yard. But as I said in earlier write ups. This is their step up year. This is a bonus. This is everyone seeing what they can do. Indians are ready now. They are rested and battle tested. A series sweep would not shock me. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANSÂ |

10-05-17 | Red Sox v. Astros -125 | 2-8 | Win | 100 | 24 h 38 m | Show
Taking the ASTROS here. Almost want to go RL for +170 in this spot. Verlander has been aces since coming to town posting a 1.06 ERA in his 5 starts with a .65 WHIP and .149 BA against. But this is about Chris Sale. So he has been a -150 or more favorite in 30 of his 32 starts this year. In those other 2 starts as a PK or small -105 fave, he lost. In fact, Verlander out-dueled him 2-1 in April. But the most telling numbers are this. As dominate as Sale is early, the guy is a beast. A sub 2.70 through July. Then it ticks up to 3.22 in August. September and October produce a 11-16 record and an ERA of 3.78. Give me Houston tonight. 4* Money Maker HOUSTON ASTROSÂ |
|||||||
10-03-17 | Twins +243 v. Yankees | 4-8 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 38 m | Show
Taking the TWINS here. Well. You know there is not a chance I would be laying 260 or whatever it ends up with the Yanks. I guess a case could be made for either team on the RL. Yanks have the better bullpen which is a clear and decided edge. I know we will hear about the Twins poor postseason record. 2-12 vs NYY in the playoffs dating back to 2003. Bro- that is 14 years ago! That was 2003,2004,2009 and 2010. Let't try to get a grip. The most recent was 7 years ago. Are Tex, Lance Berkman and Marcus Thames going yard for NY? Look. Santana has bad career numbers vs the Yanks (5.66 20 starts). But in his lone outing this year 2 runs, 5+ off 7 hits is fine. Let's not forget he led the league in CGs and tied for the lead in SHOs and if he is on, he will be go the distance. His road splits this year are promising as he went 10-3 2.71 ERA in 17 starts. 1.05 WHIP and .216 BA Against. Anything can happen here. As good as Severino's year has been. 2.98 ERA 230Ks in 193 innings - He has been average at best at home. 8-5 3.71 ERA in 16 start in the Bronx. 1.04 WHIP and .207 BA against. 4* Money Maker MINNESOTA TWINS |

09-27-17 | Mariners +108 v. A's | 5-6 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 42 m | Show
** Opinion Play ** Have a lot of you guys on seasonal MLB package. But plenty of weekly and monthly package now with NFL and College Football. Not really like much on the bases. I am a big dog guy and as much as I would love to take 5 or 6 big dogs today, that does not help the long term bankroll. We will look to really grind here the last few days of the regular season and choose our spots. MARINERS this afternoon. |

09-26-17 | Rays +156 v. Yankees | 1-6 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 47 m | Show
Taking the RAYS here. Fading the Yanks didn't help the pockets yesterday, though we broke through for a small profit as another nice underdog, the Chicago White Sox came through. Maybe I put a bit too much stock in KC playing for .500 when I should have looked at where is the motivation for a make up game. But if I didn't play KC, I would have probably went under and that was a loser also. So getting back to Tampa. I like Snell. This is a pitching match-up that I think we win. First off. Yanks are pretty much content with being the WC team. 4 back with 6 to play. So Snell has really been on his game since July. In those 13 games, a 3.15 ERA. Lowered his ERA from 5.36 down to 4.01. Has given up more than 3 runs just twice in those games. A 3.80 ERA in July, A 2.87 ERA in August. 2.78 in September and that was giving up 6 in one start. I like Montgomery long term over Jamie Garcia in the Yankees plans. But in this spot, I have to side with Snell who 2.73 career ERA in 7 games vs the Yanks. 4* Money Maker TAMPA BAY RAYS |

09-25-17 | Angels v. White Sox +142 | 2-4 | Win | 142 | 11 h 15 m | Show
Taking the WHITE SOX here. Looks to be all over for the Angels. Dropping 6 of 7 and 7 of 10 all but put the finishing touches on the nail in their coffin. How can you back Nolasco in this spot? 5.03 ERA on the year. 5.38 ERA on the road with hitters raking at .302 clip. Chicago's young team looking to build off a strong September finish. I know that 'Big Game' James (wow, do we remember him getting this nickname!) and his 5.40 ERA doesn't scream back me at home. You know that he is going 6 and giving up 4 runs. But the guy's ERA has been coming down since since the start of August. 9 decent starts for him. Angels just 2-6 last 8 in Chicago. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOXÂ |
|||||||
09-25-17 | Royals +160 v. Yankees | 3-11 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 21 m | Show
Taking the ROYALS here. Well. No playoffs for KC this year. But have to respect the team for not tossing in the towel in July. In this spot, I am playing on the fact I think they want to finish up the season strong and get to .500, they are a veteran bunch - Yanks are locked in to the Wild Card. This is a make up game so not sure if either team is really motivated in this spot. CC has an ERA over a run higher at home 4.55 / 3.18. Junis has pitched well sporting a 2.62 ERA his last 6 starts. He also has a high road 4.50/3.49 home ERA split. But KC appears to back him as he has a 6-2 record away. 4* Money Maker KC ROYALSÂ |

09-22-17 | Giants +195 v. Dodgers | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 15 m | Show
Taking the GIANTS here. Ok. Huge dog. no way that the Dodgers keep losing right? I mean, SF has played these guys tough this year going 7-9 against them. In Samardzja, we have a guy who will strike out a ton and walk nary a soul. Hill has been up and down at best. Dodgers still trying to find themselves with this slide they have been on. Giants just swept the Rockies who are in desperate Wild Card hunt mode. I am sure they would love nothing better to knock off the divisions first place team. 4* Money Maker SF GIANTSÂ |
|||||||
09-20-17 | Rockies -120 v. Giants | 0-4 | Loss | -120 | 6 h 27 m | Show
Taking the ROCKIES, again. Lost last night here and am back for me. Tough taking these guys as they seem to be slipping out of the wild card hunt trying to catch the Brewers (a winner for us last night) and Arizona who is sitting atop the NL West. But again, this is a decent price for us to lay. You know I don't like numbers up over that 150 range. First off. The Giants got a win. So that takes care of their week. Matt Moore has been brutal. I thought he would do well after his trade to the NL. Against the Rockies, Moore is 1-3 with a 9.64 ERA in six career starts. He is 0-2 with a horrible 13.51 ERA in three starts this year. At least Chatwood has some positives working for us. He has a 1.97 ERA on the road this year and a respectable 1.23 WHIP away from home. He has a .66 ERA since coming back to the rotation. This is it for the Rox. A perfect 7-0 in Chatwood's last 7 starts vs SF. Â 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIES |
|||||||
09-20-17 | A's v. Tigers +113 | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 10 m | Show
Taking the TIGERS today. Yes. We pulled out a miracle win on the A's last night. And yes, I said how I though that Detroit was done for the year. But I look at Sanchez and his 7+ ERA and I gotta jump on the small home dog. Oakland wrapping up a 9 game road trip. A wild one last night. I know you will here me say . no way so and so sweeps right.. Well, in this scheduling spot, I am taking the home team with a pitcher who is trying to everyone he can still play at a MLB level. 4* Money Maker DETROIT TIGERSÂ |
|||||||
09-19-17 | Rockies -114 v. Giants | 3-4 | Loss | -114 | 11 h 21 m | Show
Taking the ROCKIES. One. Colorado clinging to that 2 game lead over the Brewers for that last Wild Card spot. So every game a must win. And I will take a team battling over a team like San Fran who has been lost all year. Giants nearly 40 games under .500! This is far from vintage Cueto. A 4+ ERA since the start of September and coming off the DL. He can't get out of the 6th. The numbers are just not there this year. I do not expect him to 'flip the switch' tonight and go 8 striking out 9 giving up a run. Marquez could be tiring a bit. Approaching his innings from last year in the minors. I think this is a good park for him to pitch it. The Giants offense is anemic at best, and absolutely dreadful on most occasions. Rockies have some very skilled hitters that should be able to take advantage of a down Cueto year. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIESÂ |
|||||||
09-19-17 | Twins +145 v. Yankees | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 27 m | Show
Taking the TWINS, again. Lost a tough one last night but will come back with Minny. Just a nice price on the 2nd Wild Card team. I know they have trouble vs NY. That could be a major understatement. I have been waiting for CC to regress, much like Santana last night to no avail. Berrios has been better at home (2.45 ERA) than on the road (5.14). But we can say the same about CC who has been worse at home (4.71) than on the road (3.18). I'll again take the dog. 4* Money Maker MINNESOTA TWINSÂ |
|||||||
09-19-17 | A's -118 v. Tigers | 9-8 | Win | 100 | 9 h 38 m | Show
Taking OAKLAND tonight. This Tigers team has officially mailed it in. I think they have a lame duck coach. I think they are clearly in a rebuild without any pieces to contribute right now. I think the A's are a young bunch, but are looking to build for next and it shows as they are 9-3 their last 12. Not a terrible price to lay on the road, so we are in on the small road faves. 4* Money Maker OAKLAND A's |
|||||||
09-19-17 | Brewers -114 v. Pirates | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 8 h 29 m | Show
Taking the BREWERS, again. Cashed these guys last night and am going back to the well again. As I said yesterday, this Pirates team continues to slide. At this price, we have to take Milwaukee who is just 2 games back for the Wild Card. Also going to be on the under here. 4* Money Maker MILWAUKEE BREWERSÂ |
|||||||
09-18-17 | Twins +144 v. Yankees | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 3 m | Show
Taking the TWINS here. I have to grab the dogs here. I will be first to say I am still waiting for a Santana regression. But the guy has won 15 games this year and is 9-2 2.74 ERA in 14 road starts including 3 complete games! This Minny team is I think, still a bit under the radar. And they are the #2 Wild Card team! Â They have pop. 3 guys are going to hit 30 HRs. Another 3 should get to 20. And Garcia is the type of guy who gives up some long balls (17 so far). Minny won 2 of 3 back in July at home. I think we having the pitching edge tonight. 4* Money Maker MINNESOTA TWINSÂ |
|||||||
09-18-17 | Brewers +105 v. Pirates | 3-0 | Win | 105 | 9 h 31 m | Show
Taking the BREWERS tonight. Should probably go +145 on the RL for a little extra cash in our pockets. If I like Milwaukee at basically even money, then I think they win by at least 2 runs. Fact is, Pirates are just playing out the string. Eliminated from any playoff thoughts, they have now lost 5 straight and 10 of their last 11. Brewers have won 7 of their last 9 and still are fighting for the last WC spot sitting 2.5 games back. 4* Money Maker MILWAUKEE BREWERS |
|||||||
09-15-17 | Mariners v. Astros -108 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 39 m | Show
Taking the ASTROS here. Seattle just 3.5 back in the Wild-Card hunt. And I think Paxton is the better pitcher. They come in winners of 3 straight. But Paxton hasn't pitched since early August. Mariners say he will go 50 pitches. I don't like the Seattle bullpen that much. Astros need to start playing better as the playoffs approach. Getting it done at home is a good start. 4* Money Maker |
|||||||
09-15-17 | A's v. Phillies -118 | 4-0 | Loss | -118 | 9 h 46 m | Show
Taking the PHILLIES tonight. Philly playing with some pep in their step reeling off 3 straight sweeping the Marlins. The youngsters getting a chance, and man oh man is Rhys Hoskins enjoying things. 18 HRs in 34 games! I think Philly continues their hot hitting tonight vs the A's. Oakland loses their DH which is nearly an automatic out with this AL pitchers at the dish. Going to also be on the over here. Think we see runs early and we win a wild one. 4* Money Maker PHILADELPHIA PHILLIESÂ |
|||||||
09-14-17 | Royals +185 v. Indians | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 32 m | Show
Taking the ROYALS tonight. Will step in front of a the runaway win train that is the Cleveland Indians. Not that they are due for a loss, just I think Tomlin is their weakest starter. Junis has pitched pretty well lately a 2.48 ERA his last 6 starts which puts him on pair with Tomlin who is at 2.57 ERA his last 7. This is it for KC. 4 back in the wild-card hunt. If they fail to make the playoffs, they could at least look at ending their division rivals monster win streak as something positive. 4* Money Maker KC ROYALSÂ |
|||||||
09-14-17 | White Sox +114 v. Tigers | 17-7 | Win | 114 | 3 h 41 m | Show
Taking the WHITE SOX this afternoon. Tough backing Shields and his ugly numbers. Just think that the Sox want to get out of last place. They are a young team looking at next year. Tigers in semi rebuild mode since they still have Miggy and CMart. But the dealing of Verlander clearly signals rough times ahead. Chicago has won 4 of 5, while Detroit is 1-6 last 7 at home. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOXÂ |
|||||||
09-13-17 | White Sox +136 v. Royals | 5-3 | Win | 136 | 4 h 1 m | Show
Just an OPINION here on the White Sox. My MLB has been slipping this month. Not really a shock since I won't lay huge numbers with faves, and pick some bigger dogs. But with NFL and College 5 days a week, we might just really pass on the bases until playoffs. Â So I like Giolito. The guy has been really dominate in day games. So this is his 5th start. His first one away from home. But. A 2.84 ERA on the year, .91 WHIP, 23Ks in 25 innings. - The day splits are even better though. A .64 ERA, .71 WHIP .128 BA against. Skogland has a 10+ ERA on the year. I will take the shot with the CHICAGO WHITE SOXÂ |
|||||||
09-12-17 | Yankees -144 v. Rays | 1-2 | Loss | -144 | 7 h 5 m | Show
Taking the YANKEES here. Lots of huge faves on the board and we will either dog it up, like we did with the Tigers yesterday, or just pass. But this is closer to my limit any time of year on the bases. Gray pitching well of late. Yankees seem to be getting hitting throughout the lineup. Tampa, playing in Citi Field in NY have to have their minds on other things right now. They are playing out the string. 4* Money Maker NY YANKKES |
|||||||
09-12-17 | A's +158 v. Red Sox | 1-11 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 2 m | Show
Taking OAKLAND tonight. Will grab Manaea a this price. Guy has been pitching well, 2.55 ERA his last 3 starts. Rodriguez come in with a bloated 6.11 ERA his last 3. A's going nowhere but we have a solid arm on the hill. A's have won 4 of the last 5 in the series. 4* Money Maker OAKLAND A's |
|||||||
09-11-17 | Tigers +325 v. Indians | 0-11 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 17 m | Show
Taking the TIGERS - More than 3-1 odds. Have to play this just on principal. Small Opinion Play for my seasonal and monthly members. |
|||||||
09-08-17 | Brewers v. Cubs -119 | 2-0 | Loss | -119 | 9 h 55 m | Show
Taking the CUBS here. I had been a believer in Milwaukee most of the year. I just can't see them overtaking Chicago now. They had their chance over the first half of the season while the Cubs struggled. They seem to have hit their groove as we play September baseball. I do like Nelson, which is why this line is where it is. Not a big fan of Lackey. But he has reeled off wins in 9 of his last 10 starts. Again, Lackey 4-4 4.02 ERA in 12 home starts. But, 3-0 2.48 ERA his last 5 at home. Again, coupled with the entire team turning things around. Everything comes together. Cubbies 8-3 last 11 overall. 8-1 last 9 at home. 9-1 in Lackey's last 10 starts. Brewers 2-5 last 7 on the road, 1-4 last 5 overall and 2-7 last 9 games with Nelson on the hill facing Chicago. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO CUBSÂ |
|||||||
09-08-17 | Marlins v. Braves -102 | 7-1 | Loss | -102 | 9 h 32 m | Show
Taking the BRAVES tonight. Would have liked to see RL +170 with Atlanta here. But, I will just try to get in the win column with the ML. Look. I can't see how the Marlins are totally focused here, or this series in general. Miami is about to be pummeled. Families, homes, belongings. Also, can't forget a lot of these guys are from island nations. Marlins dropped 5 of 6 and 10 of 11. At this price, with Foltynewicz 5-0 last 5 starts at home vs Miami, and 6-0 his last 6 against them. Grabbing the home team tonight. 4* Money Maker ATLANTA BRAVESÂ |
|||||||
09-08-17 | Rays v. Red Sox -129 | 3-9 | Win | 100 | 8 h 14 m | Show
Taking the RED SOX. A rough start to the month for me people. Always the truth, win or lose. But even with some losers, I have been tracking teams and I feel really great heading into the first weekend of NFL action. So let's get back to grinding out winners on the bases tonight with Boston. Down a bit on Archer. Left his last start with a forearm problem. Not sure if that is something to play with with a pitcher 200 innings the last 3 years and is fast approaching that total again. Archer with a 4.23 ERA away from the Trop and is a pitiful 2-11 5.08 ERA in 18 starts vs the Red Sox. Pomeranz putting up a nice little year at 14-5 3.36 ERA over 27 starts. The stats play out pretty even as he is 7-2 3.26 ERA in 14 home starts. 4* Money Maker BOSTON RED SOXÂ |
|||||||
09-06-17 | Cardinals v. Padres +100 | 3-1 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 57 m | Show
Taking the PADRES tonight. Not much on the board that I have been liking the last week or so in MLB. So I am not going to be forcing plays. But I can jump on the Padres at even money. STL streaking. Winners of 3 straight 7 of 10 and just 3 back in the wild card. I like the way Lamet has been throwing. He has allowed more than 2 runs just once in his last 8 starts! - 4-3 with a 3.88 ERA in 8 home starts. But the .189 BA Against and 1.03 WHIP really show he has been even better overall. 4* Money Maker SD PADRES |
|||||||
09-05-17 | Diamondbacks +113 v. Dodgers | 3-1 | Win | 113 | 12 h 24 m | Show
Taking ARIZONA here. Normally, not a fan of taking a team off a 13-0 win. Especially over the team with the best record in MLB playing on a epic pace. But how can we get in front of the DBack train that has won 11 straight and 13 of 16. They send their ace Greinke, who sports a 2.30 ERA in Dodger Stadium. LAD has been slumping having dropped 4 straight, and 9 of 10. 4* Money Maker ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKSÂ |
|||||||
09-05-17 | Angels v. A's +133 | 8-7 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 34 m | Show
Taking OAKLAND tonight. Angels have seemed to be playing in some crazy games lately. 11-9 last night. 6-7, 7-4, 9-10, 10-8. That has to put a strain on a bullpen. Even bringing up extra September arms. What sticks out most is that 10-8 game. That was on August 30th, vs this same A's team. And against Kendall Graveman. He gave up 8 that game. Always like to back a guy after a team roughs him up in the previous start. The splits show us that at home, very effective. 2.70 ERA in 7 starts (6.75 ERA 7 road starts). Plus, another thing that I love to fade. A pitcher in his first start off the DL. In this case, Richards has been sidelined for 5 months last pitching in April. When healthy, the Angels were just 3-8 in Richards last 11 starts vs Oakland. I'll grab the dog here. 4* Money Maker OAKLAND A's |
|||||||
09-04-17 | Brewers -121 v. Reds | 4-5 | Loss | -121 | 3 h 51 m | Show
Taking the BREWERS here. Now, most of the year I am avoiding the low hanging fruit and the line is way too low games. And most of the year I am taking the dog in these spots. But as we hit September, we have teams playing for their playoff lives. Yes, their is added pressure. But they wouldn't be in this spot if they weren't good. Milwaukee is a solid team. They are sending a pretty good starter in Anderson to the hill this afternoon. Since his DL return, he is averaging 5 innings 2 runs, 5Ks and 2 Walks. Not the sexiest of numbers, but Chase has been good all year giving up more than 4 runs just once. Bailey has been up/down all year. A good start, then a brutal one. The fact he is off a game and a half good start (3 innings then 6 innings) makes me believe he is ripe to give up 7 in two innings today. Can't have faith in him at all. Cincy 0-7 in Bailey's last 7 starts at home and 1-4 when facing the Brewers. Milwaukee has won 7 of the last 10 in the series. 4* Money Maker MILWAUKEE BREWERSÂ |
|||||||
09-02-17 | Reds +135 v. Pirates | 0-5 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 45 m | Show
Taking the PIRATES here. First. Let me say that with September baseball, we are going to see some huge lines coming down the pike. The 40 man, teams looking to youth and out of contention. Veteran teams playing out the string. We won't be having days of 5-6 plays on the bases ahead that is for sure. But we can still find some good spots for a big dog, or a RL fave. -- Â A tough loss last night as the Angels come back to tie it at 9 only for a wild pitch to cost us a chance at a win. I can live with a hit. But a wild pitch. brutal - Â For Saturday night, we look to the Reds. We have made a decent coin backing Cincy in spots. Either on their totals or side. I like that Mahle is getting his second start vs the same team. He wasn't terrible in his first MLB game. 5 innings 5 Ks, but 4 walks with make life dangerous as he gave up 3 earned. Jitters gone, I expect the walks to be cut in half which helps. Pirates now have lost 14 of 19 and at 9.5 back, essentially out of the wild card hunt. Their ace got hammered last night. This is a spot of team that had playoff hopes just playing out the string. Add in that you have a young team looking to win any game, and head into the off-season on a positive ride, and we have a nice dog to cash tonight. 4* Money Maker CINCINNATI REDS Â |
|||||||
09-01-17 | Angels -110 v. Rangers | 9-10 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 55 m | Show
Taking the ANGELS. Well look who is right in the wild-card hunt. LAA made a couple late moves and is looking to continue their rise. Let's face it. You see Hamels as a dog at home and you think easy money as he is 24-6 last 30 here. But yet, he is a dog tonight. Rangers with other things on their mind as Texas is under water. 4* Money Maker LAA ANGELSÂ |
|||||||
08-31-17 | Red Sox +126 v. Yankees | 2-6 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 12 m | Show
Taking the RED SOX here. I will be the first to say I wasn't expecting much from CC this year. So obviously I am still waiting for some brutal outings from him. But as I said yesterday when we had Cleveland. This NY team looks to be running out of gas. Is this line so people jump on the Sox? CC has a 5.08 ERA at home in 9 starts. (2.81 road 12 starts) Rodriguez hasn't been sharp since his DL return like CC, but is 2-1 1.38 in 4 starts in the Bronx. He has a respectable .212 BA against and 1.07 WHIP in his road games. Yanks have been slipping since before the All-Star break. 4* Money Maker BOSTON RED SOXÂ |
|||||||
08-30-17 | Red Sox v. Blue Jays -113 | 7-1 | Loss | -113 | 8 h 46 m | Show
Taking the BLUE JAYS tonight. Almost went RL +150 especially with extra cash in our pockets off of last nights RL win on the Padres. But never know what we will get from the Jays. They never could recover from their bad start. But they have played better lately. Funny that Porcello (22) and Happ (20) were 1&2 in wins in the AL last year. Now I am looking at Porcello to get his league leading loss tonight. Just like Happ over the Sox at this price especially with a hittable Porcello opposite of us. 4* Money Maker TORONTO BLUE JAYSÂ |
|||||||
08-30-17 | Cardinals v. Brewers +111 | 5-6 | Win | 111 | 5 h 17 m | Show
Taking the BREWERS here. I like me some Chase Anderson. Had him his time out vs LAD in a tough road loss. But now with b2b 5 inning starts off the DL (1-1 10 innings 10Ks 5BBs), I think we will a couple more innings this afternoon. With a 2.15 ERA at home, coupled with a .97 WHIP and .202 BA Against, I easily take the small home dog in this spot. I normally am a big backer of Carlos Martinez. But this isn't 2015/16. The numbers look almost the same except when we are looking at ERA and W/L. He is already passed his career high in HRs (7 mores) in 30 less innings. He is closing in on career highs in walks and strikeouts. Maybe we are getting some fatigue. Maybe hitters are just hitting in the clutch. Maybe regression is coming and the ERA gets lowers. Well, maybe doesn't cut it for me. CMart has allowed more than 5 runs 6 times. Â I am going with home team. 4* Money Maker MILWAUKEE BREWERSÂ This line is not up yet on this site ---Â Taking the INDIANS in Game 1. Bauer has had a nice August in 3 of his 5 starts. The Red Sox have his number as they pushed across 7 runs in 12 innings with 14 hits. But in in his 3 other starts, we have seen 20.1 innings of 2 run ball including allowing 1 in 7 to these Yankees. Jamie Garcia has not fared well in the AL since coming to the Twins, then NY. Cleveland 5-2 in Bauer's last 7 starts. And let's not forget. As good as NY has been, this was suppose to be the stepping stone to a big run next year. Indians are looking to get back to the World Series for a 2nd straight time, and this is a great price for a team that is 14-4 their last 18 games. NY is 10-8 over the same span. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS |
|||||||
08-28-17 | Indians -101 v. Yankees | 6-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 4 m | Show
Taking the INDIANS tonight. Have to grab Kluber at this price. Yes, we have a pair of aces and they both are working on some opposite numbers here. And by opposite I mean their home/away splits. Kluber, a pedestrian 3.51 ERA on the road in 9 starts. Severino a 4.14 ERA in 11 home starts. Indians are 4-0 in Kluber's last 4 starts vs the Yanks. Â Kluber has been dealing going 9-2 with a 1.87 ERA since June 1st (16 starts). Severino, again, a not too shaby 6-1 last 7 starts with a 2.30 ERA. I just think that Cleveland, 8-2 last 10 on the road, and Kluber, are the better option in this spot. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANSÂ |
|||||||
08-26-17 | Brewers +162 v. Dodgers | 3-0 | Win | 162 | 13 h 21 m | Show
Taking the BREWERS, again. Lost last night 3-1, but we are again on Milwaukee. Davies has solid road splits for us. 7-1 in 13 starts with a 2.33 ERA. A .239 BA against and 1.16 WHIP are decent. This is Stripling's first start. In his 37 games so far this season he has gone past 2 innings just twice. Again, as yesterday. Brewers solid value at this price. Milwaukee is 9-3 in Davies last 12 on the road. Â 4* Money Maker MILWAUKEE BREWERSÂ |

08-25-17 | Brewers +175 v. Dodgers | 1-3 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 33 m | Show
Taking the BREWERS tonight. Dodgers are a beast for sure. But this is a spot that I look to fade most teams. Coming home off a road trip in their first game back. As I have written before. First games back are tough. You are bombarded by family and friends. You just want to sleep in your own bed. Now. It didn't pay off Monday when we had the Sox over the Indians. But it did in Game 2 as an even bigger dog on Boston cashed for us. That is what we are looking to do in this spot. We are catching a really good number with a decent team. I almost want to pull the trigger on the over again, but I just feel very good about this Brewers pick. Would hate to take any loss with a total when I think Milwaukee is winning this thing. 4* Money Maker MILWAUKEE BREWERSÂ |

08-23-17 | Blue Jays -111 v. Rays | 7-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 53 m | Show
Taking the JAYS here. Have to grab Stroman at this price. Guy has a 2 ERA his last 10 starts. Though his road ERA is just a pedestrian 3.42 in 12 starts. He has allowed 3 or more runs in just 3 of those starts. 7 runs in Texas jacks the ERA a bit. The kid has been dealing. 2 months ago his ERA was 3.69. It is 2.99 now. That is what happens when you give up 15 runs in 66 innings. Pruit is one of those out of the pen guys now getting starts, 6 previous. His home ERA is over 5 with a BA against of .301 and a 1.47 WHIP. Just looking at his numbers tells me he will give up at least 3 runs today. That might be all Toronto needs behind Stroman. 4* Money Maker TORONTO BLUE JAYSÂ |

08-21-17 | Brewers -112 v. Giants | 0-2 | Loss | -112 | 24 h 27 m | Show
Taking the BREWERS here. I guess if we use yesterday's logic on taking the Padres over the Nats, we should be looking to the Giants here. Obviously the better team, on the road, laying almost even money. Though I liked Lamet's numbers much better. Stratton is easily off his best MLB game. This is only his 4th start, 7th game this year. He's tossed over 200 pitches his last 2 outings. Not sure how the young kid will respond. This pitchers are so babied nowadays. Davies has a 2.52 ERA on the road and is 7-0 in his 12 starts. Milwaukee still clinging to some playoff hopes. Brew Crew 16-6 last 22 with Davies on the hill and need another win from him if they want to be involved in October baseball. 4* Money Maker MILWAUKEE BREWERS |

08-21-17 | Red Sox +119 v. Indians | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 54 m | Show
Taking the RED SOX. Normally, I am in a fade kind of mood with the Sox and Yanks after they face each other. But they were not the late Sunday night game. And in this spot, we have the Indians coming off a nice winning road trip. In hockey and MLB, I find that backing the road team against the home team is a profitable investment. These guys get back and have a family stuff to attend to. Even if you are single, just getting in your own bed is relaxing. We had the Tribe last Monday in a makeup vs the Sox that cashed and started a nice week for us. Rodriguez has a 4.09 ERA on the road. But his .214 BA Against and 1.07 WHIP tell me he is good a lot of the time, but has a bad inning somewhere. I am obviously looking to curb that tonight. Indians have been an under team most of the year, and again, this is a spot I think they are a bit flat. 4* Money Maker BOSTON REDS SOXÂ |

08-20-17 | Nationals v. Padres +105 | 4-1 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 7 m | Show
Taking the PADRES. Team 25 games over .500 a Pk on the road with a guy on the hill who has a .43 ERA and is 3-0 his last 3 starts. Gio is having a super year. I guess we are all waiting on the regression. I know Nats have a bunch of guys out which puts the line into a bit more perspective. Maybe people are catching onto Lamet. The rookie has a 2.57 ERA his last 5 starts. I'll take a shot on the youngster this afternoon. 4* Money Maker SD PADRESÂ |

08-20-17 | Yankees -104 v. Red Sox | 1-5 | Loss | -104 | 2 h 16 m | Show
Taking the YANKEES. Gray has been alright since joining NY. In his road starts, 12Ks in 12 innings. The 7 walks isn't a good sign, and I would be a lot if it was at 2 a game. That being said. He sports a .182 Road BA against which limits the damage of those said walks. I think he is better than Rick Porcello. That shouldn't even have to be mentioned. Their bullpen, even with hiccups from blowing the 6-3 lead Friday, is still a better unit that Boston. Porcello has an ERA over 5 in his 14 home starts with opposing hitters ripping him at a .307 clip. NY has some guys who can make contact. Yanks 4-1 last 5 games facing Porcello. 4* Money Maker NY YANKEES |
|||||||
08-15-17 | Royals -115 v. A's | 8-10 | Loss | -115 | 12 h 18 m | Show
Taking the ROYALS here. I had KC in my free pick video yesterday. I will say this is one of those easy, lowing hanging fruit type games for me. The A's are bad. They are looking at the future. But does that future include a 36 year old pitcher? Chris Smith hasn't won a game since 2008! He has a 5 ERA in 3 home starts, 5.29 on the year 6 games, 5 starts. He doesn't strike out many, 19 in 34 innings, but also has 12 walks. Hammel will keep us in the game as he has allowed 3 or less in 11 of his last 12 starts. Royals still alive, hunting for the playoffs and the Central crown. He has 48Ks in 51 road innings. KC has won 3 straight and are in no position to lose to last place teams. 4* Money Maker KC ROYALSÂ |
|||||||
08-14-17 | Indians -105 v. Red Sox | 7-3 | Win | 100 | 19 h 35 m | Show
Taking the INDIANS here. I like the Bruce trade. I think it will help them out in their playoff push. I think this team is pretty talented. We rode this guy throughout the playoffs last year. For this spot, have to fade the hot Sox though. Extra innings on Sunday night vs hated rivals. Huge series that saw the bullpen get used often. What is there to say about Doug Fister? He pitched an absolute gem by his 2017 standards 2 starts ago at Cleveland. Going into the 8th allowing 5 hits. I can not see that remotely happening tonight. Not for a guy with a 5 ERA on the year. Trevor Bauer has some bad road splits. No doubt about it. But he has pitched well his last 3 outings sporting a 1.23 ERA going at least 7 in each game allowing a run a start. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANSÂ |
|||||||
08-11-17 | Red Sox +123 v. Yankees | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 19 m | Show
Taking the RED SOX tonight. What is up with this line? Am I missing something? Maybe they are pushing us to grab Boston. I can't see how NY should be favored. They have been up and down for sometime now with a 6 game win streak at the end of June. Both starters they acquired, Gray and now Garcia have been hit since joining the Bombers. Sox have reeled of 8 in a row and 10 of 12. Boston is 4-1 in Rodriguez's last 5 starts vs NY. 4* Money Maker BOSTON RED SOXÂ |
|||||||
08-11-17 | Mets -108 v. Phillies | 7-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 13 m | Show
Taking the METS here. NY now 13-4 in Lugo's last 17 starts. They have are 9-0 with him on the hill vs teams with losing records. The 42-70 Phillies fit that bill and they have Pivetta and his 5+ ERA on the hill tonight. The Mets are 33-15 vs Philly since 2015. Granted. NYM had a bit better pitcher and they were a playoff team. This team has sold off pieces. But they still are a better unit than the young Phillies. At this price, we will grab the low hanging fruit and look for Lugo to improve on his poor road splits vs a weak hitting club. 4* Money Maker NY METS |
|||||||
08-09-17 | Cubs v. Giants +103 | 1-3 | Win | 103 | 18 h 23 m | Show
Taking the GIANTS here. I know I always talk about the 'low hanging fruit' and how some games look 'too easy.' Case in point MadBum as a small home dog. Now. Hendricks season numbers aren't awful. And this line is probably based on the fact the Cubs offense is starting to come around a bit more after a long World Series hangover. But after 2 average starts returning from the DL, Bumgarner has been very sharp. 3 runs in 19 innings with 18Ks and 4 walks and 16 hits allowed. 4* Money Maker SF GIANTSÂ |
|||||||
08-09-17 | Mariners +100 v. A's | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 18 h 19 m | Show
Taking SEATTLE here. Normally we are the fade train when we Gallardo's name pop up in a pitching match-up. But I will make an exception this afternoon. I think that Seattle is the better team and they are fighting for a wild card. So even on a get away day, I expect a solid effort. They aren't in position to lose any games. And we have Gallardo's 2017 numbers vs the A's. Not to shabby as he has logged 17 innings 4 earned and 16Ks - 5 walks in 3 games, 2 starts. Then we toss in Jharel Cotton and his 7.56 ERA at home in 8 starts. A 7.90 ERA his last 3 starts giving up 12 earned in 13.2 innings. M's offense should be able to carry the day. 4* Money Maker SEATTLE MARINERSÂ |
|||||||
08-08-17 | Cardinals v. Royals +114 | 10-3 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 56 m | Show
Taking the ROYALS tonight. It would be easy to fade KC again after winning with STL in a rout last night. And it would be easy to fade Vargas as he has been brutal since his 12-3 2.33 ERA run through June and his 6.98 ERA last 5 starts. He's still has solid home numbers. 7-2 2.71 ERA in 11 starts. He had those back to back games to start July giving up 12 runs that really pumped the ERA. I still have faith. Wacha is having a pretty good season himself for the underachieving Cardinals. But if we are talking Vargas regression, how about Wacha's? A 2.12 ERA last 8 would think it was on the horizon. He couldn't get to the 5th last game. (81 pitches). Maybe a little fatigue is setting in. The road split of 1-3 5.19 ERA in 8 starts helps the home team tonight. He allowed 5 or more runs in half those starts. KC is 23-8 in Vargas' last 31 starts, 20-7 at home. 4* Money Maker KC ROYALSÂ |
|||||||
08-08-17 | Yankees v. Blue Jays -123 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 59 m | Show
Taking the BLUE JAYS here and almost went +150 on the RL. Only thing that stopped me from pulling that trigger is CC's road splits. A 2.29 ERA in 10 starts (6-2). This is his 4th start this year vs the Jays. 11 runs in 15 innings. Obviously getting beat up at home. And I know the Yanks have huge edge in the bullpen. They really need CC for 5 with yesterday's off day. But I can see him digging that 4-0 hole early. Happ has really had a good run since the start of June. He allowed 5 runs that first start. And 7 two starts ago. He had a game with 6 runs, but only 2 earned. So in 8 starts he allowed what he basically gave up in those 2 bad starts. I can get behind a guy like that tonight. He went 6 striking out 6 giving up 1 run vs the Yanks on July 4. Toronto 7-1 in Happ's last 8 starts vs Yanks. Yanks 2-7 in CC's last 9 starts vs Jays. Toronto 10-3 last 13 at home vs NY. 4* Money Maker TORONTO BLUE JAYSÂ |
|||||||
08-07-17 | Cardinals -120 v. Royals | 11-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 41 m | Show
Taking the CARDINALS tonight. Could go RL for +130, but we have had some tough late game losses this week so we will just go for the straight play. Royals off a double dip and a lot baseball yesterday. I know this is a night game, but that is a long day at the ballpark. CMart is having a down year in my eyes and the entire STL team has underachieved. I still like him vs Ian Kennedy though. 4* Money Maker STL CARDINALSÂ |
|||||||
08-07-17 | Brewers +101 v. Twins | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 15 m | Show
Taking the BREWERS here. Man. Santana is off his 5th CG of the year! He leads the league. Please show me the guy who saw that coming. Now. I would think some kind of regression would be coming for him. But it is now August and he shows no signs of slowing down. But we have a couple things working in our favor tonight. Â He has had trouble at home. 4-5 in 11 starts with a 4.09 ERA. On the road a much better 2.52. Santana has 4 of his worse 5 outings at home. He is going to give up runs tonight. Prior to his last start, he had given up 4 or more runs in 3 of his last 5 starts. And let's not sleep on the Brewers. Suter has put together a nice little season. He has a 2.55 ERA in 35 innings as a starter. Twins on a 2-10 run vs lefties and this is a guy they have limited info on. Â 4* Money Maker MILWAUKEE BREWERSÂ |
|||||||
08-06-17 | Phillies +102 v. Rockies | 3-2 | Win | 102 | 4 h 54 m | Show
Taking the PHILLIES here. Actually. We are taking Nola. The sole reason to really ever back Philly. The kid is off an impressive July going 3-1 1.32 ERA in 5 starts with a .94 WHIP and .134 BA against. Unlike Urena for Miami who I mentioned in the other write up, Nola seems to be getting better as the season progresses. Hoffman has doubled his innings from last year and we see the ERA going up monthly. 3.29 May, 4.40 June, 8.00 July and a 5.38 on the year. It is even worse at home as he is 2-2 7.04 ERA in 8 games, 7 starts. .303 BA against 1.72 WHIP. He needed 101 pitches last games. The last time he went over 99 pitches he allowed 9 earned in 3+ at home vs Arizona. Looking for the Phillies to break through. 4* Money Maker PHILADELPHIA PHILLIESÂ |
|||||||
08-06-17 | Blue Jays +106 v. Astros | 6-7 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 50 m | Show
Taking the BLUE JAYS, again! Yes. Another team we cashed with yesterday. Just like Stroman a lot more than Fiers. Houston has been struggling a bit lately, dropping 6 of 8. These guys match-up in Toronto and Stroman got the best of Fiers and the Astros. I look for the same result this afternoon. 4* Money Maker TORONTO BLUE JAYSÂ |
