09-29-17 | Dodgers -106 v. Rockies | 1-9 | Loss | -106 | 19 h 36 m | Show
Jeff Allen Friday MLB Blue Chip is on the Los Angeles Dodgers The Rockies still have some work to do to claim that final wildcard spot and with just three games left in the regular season, they're no lock to get there tonight facing a razor-sharp Ryu and his 1.38 ERA over his L3 starts. The Dodgers are heating up having won six of seven and face Chad Bettis who has a big 8.10 ERA L3 after not getting out of the first inning two starts back. If form holds here, the Rocks will need to wait another night or get a little help from their friends. Take the Dodgers at the Tasty price. |
09-28-17 | Braves -103 v. Marlins | 1-7 | Loss | -103 | 10 h 47 m | Show
Jeff Allen's MLB Double Play is on the Atlanta Braves Atlanta is 10-5 in the series this year and 15-7 the last three years at this venue. Huge pitching edge here for the Bravos with Julio Tehran (1.35 ERA L3) over Dillion Peters who has allowed 31 baserunners in is L13 2/3 innings of work. At the end of the day, you have the Braves who are still playing hard at pick while the Fish are 4-12 L16 with everybody but Stanton simply playing out the string. Take Atlanta. |
09-27-17 | Rays v. Yankees -1.5 | Top | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 14 h 34 m | Show |
JEFF ALLEN'S MLB RUN-LINE GAME OF THE YEAR is on the NY Yankees Yankee Stadium has been a House of Horrors of the Rays who are 1-7 there this year and 7-19 the last three years. Matt Andriese has hit the wall as his 8.25 ERA over his L3 starts would attest. He's facing a Bomber lineup mashing at .288 the last seven days, not a good thing for pitchers. Luis Severino is 1-0 (3-1 LT) against the Rays this year in two starts striking out a whopping 18 in just 12 innings of work. Looking for the Bronx to win this one and easily cover the run-line. |
09-26-17 | Cubs +104 v. Cardinals | 7-8 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 26 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Tuesday MLB Super Play is on the Chicago Cubs The Blue Bears can clinch their division tonight and it probably fits that they do it with Jake Arrieta who is likely making his last regular season start for the ChiCubs. Arrieta will get big money as an unrestricted free agent over the winter and the Cubs can't pay everyone. Apparently, Arrieta is the odd man out and he'll go to work tonight against a St Louis team that he's 9-3 with a 2.63 ERA LT against. He'll face Carlos Martinez who the Cubs just spanked at Wrigley 8-2 on the 15th. The Cubs take care of business tonight and at plus money to boot. |
09-25-17 | Mariners -110 v. A's | 7-1 | Win | 100 | 13 h 41 m | Show
Jeff Allen's American League Game of the Week is on the Seattle Mariners It's been a nightmare season (5-5, 4.57) for King Felix who has not got out of the fourth inning of his last two starts, both of those against Texas. That said he's 24-9 with 2.62 ERA LT vs. the A's and beat Oakland (and Daniel Gossett) the only time he faced them in 2017. Seattle is 10-6 in the series this year and 18-7 the last three years on this field. The A's have won seven straight but with smoke and mirrors as they are hitting just .247 as a team over that time. Seattle snaps out of funk with a win here. |
09-24-17 | Angels v. Astros -150 | 7-5 | Loss | -150 | 17 h 41 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Sunday Night ESPN Super Lock is on the Houston Astros The Angels have played themselves out of the playoffs with six straight losses but while the Halos made a gallant try with little talent than Mike Trout, they are simply playing out the string. The Astros are 9-2 L11 and dueling with the Indians for home field throughout. Just 50 cents for the much better team that is on a roll, has the better of the pitching and lineup and still sharpening up for the postseason. |
09-23-17 | Twins -162 v. Tigers | 10-4 | Win | 100 | 14 h 6 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday MLB Inner Circle is on the Minnesota Twins Love the Twins who keep scratching and clwing but are running out of time. Ervin Santana (15-8, 3.34) have been the Twinkie acr all year and has done his best work (9-3, 2.73) on the road. Santana is 9-5 LT vs. the Tigers with a 3.37 ERA in 21 starts and beat Boyd and Motown back in Augist by a 6-4 score. The Tigers are 4-17 in September and manager Brad Ausmus was told last night that he would not be retained. Tiggers just playing out the string. |
09-22-17 | Cubs -114 v. Brewers | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 54 m | Show
Jeff Allens TGIF MLB Special is on the Chicago Cubs Both teams pulled out all the stops last night as the Cubs got that all important first game series win. Tonight, John Lackey toes the bump. He's a veteran who has been through a pennant run many times before and he's saved his best starts for last as he's posted a 1.93 ERA over his L3 starts and owns a 3.39 LT ERA in 14 starts against the Brew Crew. Brandon Woodruff has been a spot starter that's been either very good or very bad. He's never faced the Cubs but prefer the battle-tested World Series Champions. |
09-21-17 | Cubs -128 v. Brewers | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 23 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Cubs/Brewers Thursday Double Best Bet is on the Cubs The Cubs can pretty much ice the NL Central by winning this series. Both teams on fire with Chicago 7-0 L7 and the Bre Crew 6-1, both teams are terrorizing opposing pitching. The key here is Jake Arrieta who is 8-4 with a 2.79 ERA againainst Milwaukee LT with two of those wins coming this year. Zach Davies number skewed by a bad outing vs. Miami in last but not the best of spots for the Brewers who are just 17-36 as a home dog at this price over the last three years. Round One to the Cubs. |
09-20-17 | Indians -108 v. Angels | 6-5 | Win | 100 | 13 h 40 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Wednesday MLB Road Warrior is on the Cleveland Indians The Tribe is a winner of 25 out of 25 and last night's win over the Halos pretty much but Angel's playoff aspirations to bed. No urgency for the Indians to win at this point but it is important to get the regulars some rest and set his pitching through the playoffs. Ricky Nolasco will eat up innings for you but not much else as his 6-14, 4.84 ERA will attest. Tough to play against a team that is even money and 21 games to the good on the road. |
09-19-17 | Twins v. Yankees UNDER 8.5 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 5 m | Show
Jeff Allen's American League Total of the Week is on the Twins/Yanks Under This matchup could be a preview of the AL wildcard with the Yanks a lock and the Twinkies two games up on the Angels for the final spot with 12/13 games to play. This series was played last night like a playoff series with the Bombers taking down a 2-1 win in the series opener. Jose Berrios (12-7, 3.84) and C.C. Sabathia go at it tonight and both have been sharp with their number each skewed by a toughing outing two back. Berrios beat the Bombers 6-1 in July, the only time he's faced them. Sabathia has not faced the Twins this year but is 20-9 with a 3.15 ERA in 39 LT starts vs. Minn. This figures to be another game where runs will be tough to come by making the Under the play. |
09-13-17 | Mariners v. Rangers UNDER 11 | 8-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 54 m | Show
Jeff Allen's America League Top Total is on the Mariners/Rangers Under Mike Leake has been very good since coming over from St Louis and is off two quality starts where he allowed just four earned runs and 14 hits in 13 inning work with a 1/12 BB/K ratio. The Under is 8-3 is 11 road starts this year. Martin Perez is off three straight quality starts against the Yankees, Angels, and Astros, three pretty good lineups. Seattle 6-2 to the Under L8 and we'll play Under this generous 11 tonight. |
09-12-17 | Marlins v. Phillies UNDER 9 | 8-9 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 33 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NL Total of the Week is on the Marlins/Phils Under Dillion Peters has been great in his two starts for the Fish and all he has to show for it is a loss and a razor sharp 2.25 ERA as Miami continues it's September free fall. Nick Pivetta is a hit or miss type that just faced the Marlins and Peters on the 1st and got a no decision in a 2-1 Phillies win. In that game, Pivetta gave up just four hits in better than six innings of work. looking for another low scoring game this time around. Play the Under. |
09-11-17 | Pirates v. Brewers -157 | 7-0 | Loss | -157 | 12 h 42 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Game of the Week is on the Milwaukee Brewers The Pirates 4-9 L13 losing five straight and have pretty much mailed it in at this point. Steven Brault is a call up that was up in September last years. He gave up three earned in five innings of a 4-3 win over the Cubs in his only start in 2017 and does not appear able to go more than five innings. Milwaukee is kicking scratching and clawing to get a wild card or run down the Cubs, and while that horse might me out of the barn, the Brew Crew hasn't quit. Brandon Woodruff has been great in his four starts (.208 ERA) and in last even went deep into the game giving up one run on two hits in seven innings in a game the bullpen vultured in a 3-2 loss to Scherzer and the Nats. Not much to face here so we'll lay 60 cents with Milwaukee. |
09-10-17 | Orioles v. Indians OVER 9 | 2-3 | Loss | -125 | 16 h 3 m | Show
Jeff Allen ESPN Sunday Night Baseball Total of the Year is on the Orioles/Tribe Over The Indians have won a franchise record 17 straight games and outscoring the opposition by 88 runs over those games. The Tribe is hitting a robust .314 and scoring 7.3 rpg. over L7 but just don't trust Bauer who has never beaten the Birds in four LT starts where he rocks a 6.75 ERA. Baltimore's Jeremy Hellickson has been hit hard in his L3 as his 7.73 ERA would attest. Thinking we're going to see some offense tonight. Play the Over. |
09-08-17 | Padres v. Diamondbacks -1.5 | 10-6 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 37 m | Show
Jeff Allen's MLB Run-Line Game of the Month is on the Arizona DBacks The Snakes are on a 13-game win streak, a franchise record, and while they won't challenge the Dodgers in the West, they're are close to locking in home field in the all important wild card game. Patrick Corbin has been lights out with a 0.89 ERA and a beast at home all year with a nasty 8-3 2.63 badge in 14 starts at The Bob. Arizona is 9-4 in the series this year, 6-1 here and faces a Padre youngster making his first road start. Run-line mitigates loss while taking us down to almost even money with a white hot team that is also averaging 6.7 rpg. over its L7 games. |
09-06-17 | Texas Rangers - Game #2 -102 v. Atlanta Braves - Game #2 | 4-5 | Loss | -102 | 11 h 22 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Interleague Game of the Month is on the Texas Rangers Cole Hamels has been hurt most of the year but has still managed to put together a decent 2017 at 9-2 with a 3.92 ERA that has been skewed by B2B bad starts. Texas has dominated in IL play this year at 13-5 and they have to feel good about their chances facing a Braves that is just 3-8 over it's L11 games. Julio Tehran is the one piece the Braves have hung on to but he's had a tough time in his new park going 2-9 with a 6.54 ERA. Both teams are just playing out the string but the Rangers can still benefit by taking a strong finish into next year. |
09-05-17 | Twins +126 v. Rays | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 31 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Tuesday MLB Dog Bite is on the Minnesota Twins You gotta love Bartolo Colon. He got off to a rotten start this year for the Braves but since getting picked up by the Twins, he's been money and a big reason why that Minnesota is hanging around in the wild card race. The big man is 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA in his L3. The ERA isn't great but this guy just eats innings and at 40+ and 300+, he's a good guy in the stretch run as it gets cooler. Good tech spot for Minneosta also, 13-7 this year as a road dog of 25-50 cents. |
09-04-17 | Rangers v. Braves UNDER 9.5 | Top | 8-2 | Loss | -109 | 12 h 7 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's MLB Holiday Personal Best is on the Rangers/Braves Under Strangely enough, if you asked who the best pitcher was on the Texas Rangers this year you would probably have to say Andrew Cashner. He's 8-9 on the year with a 3.30 ERA so deserves better in the win column. His road starts 6-4 to the Under and the Low is 16-6 in all starts. R.A. Dickey is still getting that knuckleball up there and eating innings. He's only faced the Rangers five times in his career but three of those are in the last two years and he's allowed just two earned runs in 19 innings of work. Runs figure to be tough to come by here. Play the Under. |
09-03-17 | Red Sox v. Yankees +116 | 2-9 | Win | 116 | 11 h 52 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Sunday Night Espn Baseball Bail Out is on the New York Yankees Chris Sale has been a monster until his last three starts. He's off seven shut out innings vs. Toronto in last but he was lit up by these same Yankees just two back on August 18th. Yankee counterpart, Luis Severino has been money his last three with a 1.83 ERA and a whopping 26 Ks in his L19 2/3 innings of work. Bombers win key series with a win here and put them firmly striking distance heading into the final four weeks. |
09-02-17 | Phillies v. Marlins -126 | 9-10 | Win | 100 | 11 h 10 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday MLB Play of the Day is on the Miami Marlins The Fish have now lost four straight and have not won a game since the last time Dan Strailey took the mound, a 6-2 win over San Diego. Strailey is off three straight quality start and just beat the Phils and Nola on 8/22. Aaron Nola has been the best of Phillie's kids but he's started against Miami twice in 2017 and given up 11 earned run on 14 hits in 9 2/3 innings. Marlins seem to have his number and get healthy here. |
09-01-17 | Blue Jays v. Orioles -162 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 20 m | Show
Jeff Allen's American League Game of the Week is on the Baltimore Orioles The Jays played themselves out of any type of playoff home by going 2-10 L12 while the raging Orioles are 8-1 L9. The Jays Joe Biagini has been getting hammered of late and owns a 9.43 ERA L3 while allowing 33 baserunners in 14 2/3 innings of work. Kevin Gausman is starting to find his groove and is off 7 2/3 shutout innings of the BoSox. The Orioles are not done yet. |
08-29-17 | White Sox v. Twins -1.5 | 4-6 | Win | 105 | 10 h 6 m | Show
Jeff Allen's MLB Run-Line Game of the Month is on the Minnesota Twins The White Sox are playing out the string and James Shields is a spent bullet with a 5.00 ERA that can give you enough innings to make it worth wild to keep him in the rotation. Ervin Santana has been super all year 13-7 (3.24) and has good career numbers against the Pale Hose. In April he pitched a complete game one-hitter from this mound. This is a five-day pitching rematch from 8/23 where Santana pitched seven innings (giving up one run) and left with the lead only to see his win given away by the pen. Betting the loser in the second game of a five-day rematch has been a successful play in the blind for almost 40 years. Minnesota on the run line. |
08-28-17 | Braves v. Phillies -150 | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 36 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Game of the Week is on the Philadelphia Phillies The Phillies have dominated the Braves in Philadelphia and Aaron Nola has dominated the Bravos in his short time in the majors. The Phillies are 11-2 against the Braves this year and 7-0 on this field. Nola is 4-1 with a 2.08 ERA in his six LT starts vs. the Braves and while he did the majority of that damage last year, in the on;y time he's faced Atlanta this year, he pitched eight innings of the one-run five-hit ball back June 6th. Yes, it's hard to lay 50 cents with a team that is 23 games under .500 but this spot is overwhelming. Lay it. |
08-27-17 | New York Mets - Game #2 v. Washington Nationals - Game #2 UNDER 8.5 | 4-5 | Loss | -120 | 10 h 48 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Mets/Nats ESPN Late Bail Out is on the Washington Nats The Met sell off was borderline criminal and the Nats might as well be playing AAA Las Vegas. Seth Lugo (7.31) has been hammered his last three starts and the Met pen at this point is used up and not very good, to begin with. Tanner Roark is off three straight quality starts and has had excellent LT results against the Mets (6-2. 2.35, 10 starts). Any kind of effort by Roark at this point gets it done. Please note that the play was incorrectly listed as the Under. This cannot be changed once posted. The actual play is the Washington Nats in Game II of their double-header with the Mets. (Lugo/Roark Listed Pitchers) |
08-25-17 | Pirates v. Reds UNDER 9.5 | 5-9 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 50 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Total of the Month is on the Pirates/Reds Under |
08-23-17 | Blue Jays v. Rays UNDER 8.5 | 7-6 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 22 m | Show
Jeff Allen's American League Total of the Week is on the Jays/Rays Under Marcus Stroman (11-6, 2.99) has done it for Toronto all year and is in razor sharp form now with three straight quality starts and a 1.71 ERA. He's faced the Rays three times this year and allowed just five earned on 17 hits with 22 K's in 21 1/3 innings of work. Austin Pruitt is one of Tampa Bay's good young guns and was posting pretty good number before getting roughed up by Seattle in his last. All six of his starts have gone under and the Rays are 15-4 low in August. The Jays are 8-3 under in L11 and neither team is hitting. Play the Under. |
08-22-17 | Diamondbacks -156 v. Mets | 7-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 8 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Tuesday MLB Road Warrior is on the Arizona DBacks The Mets have mailed in the season and have sold their assets for nothing in a salary dump nothing less than criminal. New York is 1-7 L8 and send ex-Oakland A Tommy Milone to the mound with his 1-2 and 7.63 ERA numbers. It's his first appearance since May and it's easy to see why. He's allowed 26 baserunners of all kinds in his last 11 2/3 work. Snakes still in the thick of the wild card race and Patrick Corbin (1.27 L3) is working on 15 straight shut out innings. Arizona is the play. |
08-21-17 | Red Sox v. Indians UNDER 9.5 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 30 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Monday MLB Bankroll Builder is on the BoSox/Indians Under Excellent number and very good spot. BoSox Eduardo Rodriguez off a stuff start in last 3.12 ERA in his L3 and the Under is 10-5 in his 15 starts. Mike Clevinger responded to B2B bad starts by throwing seven innings of four-hit shut out ball at the Rays in latest. He rocks a 3.37 ERA on the year and the Under is 11-4 in his starts. Both starters need just go their six quality before each turns it over to one of the top five pens in MLB. Play the Under. |
08-20-17 | Cardinals +100 v. Pirates | 3-6 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 31 m | Show
Jeff Allens' ESPN Sunday Night Baseball Bail Out is on the St Louis Cardinals The Cardinals are too far back to get into the wild card race so they are basically trying to run down the Cubs and win their division which is very doable. The Red Birds have been hot and need to keep winning their division games the rest of the way. Neither starter tonight is in very good form but Mike Leake is 2-1 vs. Pitt this year and has had a lot of long-term success against the Bucs and 10-5 with a 3.67 ERA in 31 starts. Ivan Nova had a great first half but has hit the wall in the second. Pitt snapped six-game losing streak last night but are a team that has clearly quit and playing out the string. Take the Cardinals. |
08-19-17 | Cardinals -116 v. Pirates | 4-6 | Loss | -116 | 7 h 6 m | Show
Jeff Allen's MLB Matinee Mauler is on the St Louis Cardinals The Cardinals got right back on track after losing two of three to the BoSox and are right back in the playoff hunt. Wacha is not the type of pitcher that blows you away but more often than not gives you a chance to win. He's 5-2 LT vs. the Pirates with a 3.76 ERA and beat Gerrit Cole 2-1 the only time he's faced Pitt in 2017. The Pirates have quit and are simply playing out the string. |
08-18-17 | Yankees v. Red Sox UNDER 9 | 6-9 | Loss | -105 | 19 h 10 m | Show
Jeff Allen's TGIF MLB PlatinumTotal is on the Yankees/BoSox Under These teams are very familiar with each other and there will be no surprises here. Both pitchers are in good form and each has had some success this year vs. the opposing side. Jordan Montgomery has been on three straight unders and threw 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball against the BoSox on ESPN last Sunday in the 3-2 loss to Chris Sale. Drew Pomeranz is the Red Sox ace at this point and is rocking a .229 ERA in his L3 starts. The Under is 5-1 in the six series games at Fenway this year and we'll look for that trend to continue here. |
08-17-17 | Nationals v. Padres -108 | 2-1 | Loss | -108 | 12 h 21 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Under-The-Radar MLB Special is on the San Diego Padres Don't look now but Jhoulys Chacin is 7-2 with a 1.86 ERA in 12 starts at Petco Park. At the beginning of the year, the Friars were considered the worst team in baseball and many pegged them on 100+ losses. San Diego is not good by any means but they play hard and are even a couple (32-27) of games above .500 at home. Edwin Jackson was reclaimed from MLB obscurity as an arm but has put together a couple of good outings after a rocky start. He hasn't faced SD since 2014 but is 0-6 LT with a 6.98 ERA in 10 career starts, granted none of them recent. In the end, like the fiestyPadres and their "ace" in a good spot as an exhausted and banged up Nat unit can't wait to get home. Take San Diego. |
08-16-17 | Royals -128 v. A's | 7-6 | Win | 100 | 7 h 43 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Travel Day Matinee Mauler is on the Kansas City Royals Danny Duffy was not all that impressive in his last two starts but he's owned the A's in his brief opportunities over his career going 3-0 with a 2.96 ERA in five starts. The Kansas City lineup is really mashing at the moment hitting .306 and scoring better than six runs a game over the last week. The A's Paul Blackburn (3-1, 3.02) has been good overall but very average in his last three, two of which he allowed five runs. A's staff as a whole allowing opposing batter to hit .300 the last week while averaging 6.4 runs-per-game. A quality start by Duffy gets it done. |
08-15-17 | Giants -109 v. Marlins | 9-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 36 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Platinum is on the San Francisco Giants Mad Bum is back from his "accident" like he hasn't missed a beat. In his last three starts, he's a rocking a 1.29 ERA allowing just 15 hits in 21 innings with a 4/21 BB/K ratio. He lost two of those games 3-2 and 2-1 and won 3-1 so he hasn't got a whole lot of run support. Daniel Strailey has lost three straight despite three straight quality starts where he hasn't allowed more than two runs in 6+ innings of work. The Fish do not do well against lefties and also do not do well in prosperity going just 3-8 off three or more straight wins. Mad Bum gets one here. |
08-14-17 | Tigers v. Rangers UNDER 10.5 | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 18 h 4 m | Show
Jeff Allen's AL Total of the Week is on the Tigers/Rangers Over Tonight's total is a huge 10.5 but with good reason as both teams have mailed in their seasons and both the starters have been awful for an extended time. Motown's Mike Fulmer was pitching well to the break but he's been hammered in L3 allowing 14 earned in 16 2/3 of work. Martin Perez has been even worse in allowing 15 earned in 16 2/3 innings and also has an LT ERA of 5.40 in three LT starts vs. Detroit. This one has batting practice wriiten all over it, play the Over. |
08-13-17 | Red Sox v. Yankees OVER 8 | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 29 m | Show
Jeff Allen's BoSox/Yankees Sunday ESPN Super Lock is on the BoSox/Yankees Over One's first inclination when you looking at a Chris Sale game is to look at the Over. Not here. Despite being a Yankee killer most of his life, Sale was pounded at Cleveland and the Bombers have already seen him twice this year already so they should know what to expect. Jordan Montgomery is what he is and that is to give you five innings max with an ERA of around 4.00 or more. He was spanked by the BoSox on the 4th of July in his only LT appearance facing Beantown. Montgomery could give up all eight himself but we think the Bronx could do some damage as well against. Not interested in laying big numer or grabbing. Play the Over |
08-12-17 | Indians +126 v. Rays | 3-0 | Win | 126 | 15 h 1 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday Night MLB Dog Bite is on the Cleveland Indians This play is strictly a fade of Tampa Bay's Chris Archer who is 0-6 LT vs. the Tribe while sporting a 6.00 ERA in those six starts. Mike Clevinger is not much but he's never faced the Rays which is a good thing in that he should have the advantage the first 2-3 times through the lineup. Add to the equation that Cleveland is 6-2 L8 at the Trop and we figure to be much the best. |
08-11-17 | Reds v. Brewers -1.5 | 11-10 | Loss | -100 | 18 h 21 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Run-Line Game of the Week winner is the Milwaukee Brewers We've faded Homer Bailey with great success this year. The former No.1 draft pick has been terrible this year (9.39 ERA L3) but the Reds prefer to send him to the mound every five days rather than eat his salary. Jimmy Nelson has been rock solid (2.14 ERA L3) despite that noot translating into many wins but the Brewers have done nothing since the All-Star Break as a whole. Excellent spot for the Brewer bats to get going and to get this good young talent a win in a big way. Run-line. |
08-10-17 | Mets -141 v. Phillies | 10-0 | Win | 100 | 10 h 38 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Thursday Night MLB Road Warrior is on the New York Mets Jacob deGrom has been the only bright light in an awful Met season going 12-5 with a 3.36 ERA. His last two starts have been OK ending a run of 10 starts where he was lights out. This is a perfect spot to get healthy tonight as the former Stetson All-American shortstop is 5-0 LT vs. the Phils and his team 9-0 in nine LT starts against Philly. Mets started salary dump last night with Jay Bruce so this good time before the shelves are picked bare. |
08-09-17 | Phillies v. Braves UNDER 9.5 | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 59 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Wednesday MLB Slumpbuster is on the Phillies/Braves Under Both pitchers are in excellent form with three straight quality starts. Jared Eickhoff is 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA and tons of potential if he would cut back on his walks. Sean Newcomb is another good young gun who has trouble finding the plate at times but is extremely effective when he does. This is a 10-day pitching rematch of a July 29 game won by Philly 4-3. In that game, both pitchers allowed just one earned run in five innings of work but couldn't go far due to pitch count. This number is crazy high offering value as well. |
08-07-17 | Brewers v. Twins UNDER 9 | 4-5 | Push | 0 | 20 h 52 m | Show
Jeff Allen's IL Total of the Week is on the Brewers/Twins Under Both teams are playing for wildcards and to their credit, neither has mailed in the season. Brent Suter is 2-2 with a 2.92 ERA in six starts with the Under 5-1 in those starts. Ervin Santana has been rock solid all year at 12-7 with a 3.28 ERA in 22 starts. The innings might be catching up to this workhorse but the Brewers are hitting just .203 L7 and Santana is coming off a complete game 5-2 win over the Padres. The Under is 14-7 in his starts. Play the Under here. |
08-06-17 | Dodgers v. Mets UNDER 9 | 8-0 | Win | 100 | 9 h 17 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Sunday Night ESPN Blue Chip is on the Dodgers/Mets Under As much as we'd like to take a home team that is +50 cents to avoid a series sweep and facing the visitor's weakest link (Ryu 3-6, 4.02), just not interested is standing in front of the 43-7 L50 Dodger Express at the moment. RYU has pitched well of late and is off three straight quality starts including seven scoreless five-hit innings vs. the Giants in his last. Matz has been awful to be sure bit two of his last three starts have been quality and his numbers skewed by a terrible outing two back in San Diego. This is a pitching matchup from 6/22 that the Dodgers won 6-3 but was 3-3 late. Looking for sharp efforts from both starters here and keeping our fingers crossed that the Mets pen has one of it's better days. Play the Under. |
08-05-17 | Diamondbacks -124 v. Giants | 4-5 | Loss | -124 | 11 h 60 m | Show
Jeff Allen's DBacks/Giants Late Show Bail Out is on the Arizona DBacks The Snakes have won three straight and heating up for a late playoff run. Tijuan Walker has done his best work on the road where he takes a sweet 2.95 ERA in nine starts to tonight's Giants lineup. Walker has pitched well vs. San Francisco in limited opportunities and the DBacks have had a lot of success on this field going 15-8 over the last three years. Nice spot and nice price on Arizona. |
08-04-17 | Rangers v. Twins UNDER 10.5 | 4-8 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 29 m | Show
Jeff Allen's American League Total of the Month is on the Rangers/Twins Under Martin Perez does not have any wins against the Twins in limited tries but he has pitched well and faces a Twins team tonight hitting just .217 over its L7 games. Bartolo Colon has had a nightmare season for the Braves/Twins but is off back-to-back quality starts. Texas is 5-2 Under L7 and the Twinkies are on three straight unders themselves. Even if Bartolo gets shelled, Minnesota should be able to stop the bleeding before this gets anywhere near the generous 10 1/2. |
08-02-17 | Mets +128 v. Rockies | 10-5 | Win | 128 | 8 h 22 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Game of the Week is on the Colorado Rockies The Mets are bringing up their kids and throwing them straight into the fire. Chris Flexen was brought straight up the big club out of AA and the Padres lit him up like a Christmas tree. In fact, Flexen hadn't given up a homer in AA but saw his second pitch in the bigs sent for a ride the left field seats. Tyler Chatwood was lit by the Mets on the 15th in a 9-3 loss but has had two weeks to get straightened out and his prior history against the Mets was excellent. Now or never for the Rockies. * PLEASE NOTE --- This play was inadvertantly posted as the Mets and cannot be changed .... the actual play is on the Colorado Rockies. We apologize for the error. |
08-01-17 | Giants v. A's -118 | 10-4 | Loss | -118 | 9 h 27 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Tuesday MLB Home Cooking winner is on the Oakland A's The Giants nightmare season continues and the Gints are just 14-32 vs. losing records to boot and send Jeff Samardzija to the mound with his 5-11 mark with 4.85 ERA that is 6.75 over his L3 starts. The A's have won three straight and send their "ace" to the mound here in Sean Manea who shut the Giants out for six innings last year in a 7-1 win last June, the only time he faces San Francisco. Right back. |
07-31-17 | Braves -105 v. Phillies | 6-7 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 22 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Monday Matinee Mauler is on the Atlanta Braves There are several reasons we like the Braves here despite losing the first three games of the series. First is starter Mike Foltynewicz who has been solid all year with his 9-5 (3.83 ERA) season numbers which include seven innings of four-hit shut out ball in a 14-1 win over the Phillies back on June 7th. Betting teams to avert a series sweep has been a solid play in the blind all season long and nobody better to get the Braves off the shneid than Mike Foltnewicz. |
07-30-17 | Giants v. Dodgers UNDER 8.5 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 17 m | Show
Jeff Allen's ESPN Game of the Month is on the Giants/Dodgers Under Note the pitching change to MadBum who hasn't pitched badly since coming back after his quad accident. Also, note that the Dodgers are on an unconscious 38-6 including several improbable come from behind wins. Regardless of where these teams are in the standings, this is one of the top rivalries in baseball. The series is 6-6 this year and though the Giants are 33 games behind the Dodgers in the West, there is nothing they would like to do more than beat the Blue's head in, especially at Chave Ravine. Pass the side and play the Under as MadBum can stretch it out at this point and the Bums have the best pen in the bigs. ESPN games are generally played quickly like travel days so this one should fly ... Under the total. |
07-29-17 | Pirates -110 v. Padres | 2-4 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 27 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Late Show Bailout is on the Pittsburgh Pirates (Nova Listed) Ivan Nova has been solid all year. His recent numbers are greatly skewed after getting rocked at Colorado in his last outing but his 10-7 (3.62) badge is a much better representation of what we get. Dinelson Lamet does nit help his cause for the Friars as he's walked 20 in 51 innings or about four per nine innings. Pirates hitting .279 and averaging 5 per in last seven. Any effort from Nova here gets it done. |
07-28-17 | Orioles v. Rangers -128 | 2-8 | Win | 100 | 17 h 11 m | Show
Jeff Allen Friday MLB American League Blue Chip is on the Texas Rangers The Orioles mailed it in long ago and are simply playing out the string with the worst starting pitching in baseball. Chris Tillman is 1-5 with a 7.01 ERA in his 2017 starts and sports a 12+ ERA on the road. Andrew Cashner is off three straight quality starts and has revenge angle having lost 3-1 to the O's and Tillman just 10 days ago. The Rangers are 6-1 L7 of the series at home and desperately need wins to hang in the AL wild card race. Texas! |
07-27-17 | Cubs -1.5 v. White Sox | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 12 h 55 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Getaway Day Run-Line Special is on the Cubs The Cubs are 9-2 over their L11, six games above .500 for the first time this year, and have finally reclaimed first place in the NL Central. The Blue Bears are in this spot thank to starting pitching which is 9-0 with a 2.48 ERA over their current run and while the offense isn't exactly mashing, its plating enough runs tio get the job done. The WSox have lost three straight Mike Pelfrey starts where he has gone five innings (exactly) just once. Cubs roll. |
07-26-17 | Reds v. Yankees -1.5 | 5-9 | Win | 100 | 14 h 33 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Run-Line Game of the Month is on the New York Yankees The Reds continue to send Homer Bailey (2-4, 8.56) to the mound because they pay him a ton of money and nobody will take him off their hands. He's a spent shell that the Bronx Bombers figure to tattoo pretty good. Luis Severino is the best of the new crop of Yankee arms and is rocking a 1.71 ERA over his last three starts going at least seven innings in each start. He should have it all his own way today against a Reds team that is 2-9 L11 and hitting just .236 over their last seven. |
07-25-17 | Royals v. Tigers UNDER 8.5 | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 26 m | Show
Jeff Allen's American League Total of the Week is on the Royals/Tigers Under This is one of our favorite spots, two pretty good pitchers coming off bad outing who had been in razor sharp form prior. Better yet, both bad outing was against each other just five days ago in a 16-4 Royals win at Detroit. On face, it looks like Fulmer was rocked in that game but the truth is that the Tigers committed three errors behind him and NOTHING was hit hard with every little bleeder seemingly finding paydirt, one flare after the other. The numbers are skewed so unimportant here. Danny Duffy 9-5 to the Under in his 2017 starts, KC 8-4 to the Under L12. The Under gets the money. |
07-24-17 | Mets -158 v. Padres | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 15 h 9 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Game of the Week is on the NY Mets The Mets saw their four game win streak snapped on Sunday and who better to get them back on track than Jacob deGrom. The former Stetson All-American shortstop is 11-3 with a 3.37 ERA and who has been lights out his last seven starts. deGrom is also the best hitting pitcher in the bigs and can help himself out with the bat. Clayton Richard is 5-10 with a 5.33 ERA on the year and his ERA over his L3 starts is 8.00 while allowing 34 baserunners in his last 15 2/3 innings of work. |
07-23-17 | Cardinals v. Cubs -171 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 43 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Sunday ESPN Cards/Cubs Classic Rivalry winner is the Chicago Cubs The Cubs have won six out of seven coming out of the break and and have drawn to almost dead even with the Brewers in the National League Central. When we look back at the season, we'll look back at the Jose Quintana deal as the sot in the arm the Blue Bears needed to get jolted back into reality. The Cubs problem this year is that the starters have allowed a tick under two runs more this year than they did last year and Quintana (who needed to get out of the South side in the worst way) has provided just that going seven scorless and striking out 12 in his debut. With pretty much guaranteed run support at this point, Jose Quintana just might have been the pick up of the stretch drive. Wacha has nice numbers L3 but owns a 6.26 ERA in 12 LT starts against the Cubs so he has never been a mystery to the Blue Bears. |
07-22-17 | White Sox v. Royals -179 | 2-7 | Win | 100 | 10 h 52 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday Bully Beat Down in on the Kansas City Royals The WSox Mike Pelfrey is up to his old tricks. He's sporting a 6.93 ERA over his L3 starts allowing 23 baserunners in just 13 innings of work. He's also 1-5 with a 6.20 ERA in nine LT starts vs. Kansas City. Jason Vargas has not been very good his last two starts but his 12-4, 3.05 ERA season body or work earns him a pass and a chance to square himself away against the lowly Pale Hose. Kansas City is 17-7 L24 in the series on this field. |
07-21-17 | Yankees -119 v. Mariners | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 19 h 44 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Friday MLB Road Warrior is on the New York Yankees C.C. Sabathia is earning his substantial money for the first time in several years and has put together a solid 8-3 (3.54) year and has done his best work on the road where is 5-2 with a 2.34 ERA. Sabathia is also 14-6 with a 2.65 ERA in 27 LT starts vs. the M's and the Bombers are 6-1 in their L7 at Safeco Field. |
07-20-17 | Tigers -112 v. Royals | 4-16 | Loss | -112 | 12 h 46 m | Show
Jeff Allen's American League MLB Personal Best is on the Detroit Tigers Michael Fulmer has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise dismal season for the Tigers. Fulmer is now 10-6 with a 3.08 ERA after winning his last three (2.25 ERA) starts. The Tigers have won four out of five after the pen imploded again last night and they are also 6-2 L8 vs. the Royals this year so 10 cent price is very fair and very attractive. Take the Tigers. |
07-19-17 | Rays +109 v. A's | 2-7 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 10 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Wednesday MLB Matinee Moneymaker is on Tampa Bay If you've followed World Champion Jeff Allen, he's said many times that the Rays are the mystery team or potential spoiler in the American League. Now Tampa Bay has won five of six and looks to finish sweep of the A's with Jake Faria (4-0, 2.00) in his seven starts since joining the big club. This kid is the real deal and just another good young Tampa Bay pitcher giving up just 33 hits with 41 Ks in his 45 innings of work. Ray closers underated. Take Tampa Bay. |
07-18-17 | Brewers v. Pirates -152 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 29 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Tuesday MLB Bully Beat Down is on the Pittsburgh Pirates Ivan Nova has been the rock of the Buc staff with a 9-6 record and solid 3.21 ERA. The ex-Bronx Bomber is especially effective at home where he's 6-2 with a 2.63 ERA. The Junior Guerra era at Milwaukee is likely to be close to an end based on a 10.33 ERA over his last three starts allowing a whopping 27 baserunners over his L15 innings. For Pitt to make a run, they'll need to win these home division games against the leaders like Brewers, Cubs, and Cards and tonight they throw their best. |
07-17-17 | Blue Jays v. Red Sox UNDER 9.5 | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 19 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Monday MLB Super Total is on the Jays/Red Sox Under Marcus Stroman has single-handedly kept Toronto on a respirator as far as the post season goes and is seemingly getting better with every start. He's given up just three earned in his L3 starts (1.37), facing some pretty good lineups in the process. Eduardo Rodriguez has a nasty 1.56 ERA in his three homes starts but his propensity to throw a lot of pitches keeps his from going deep into games. David Price gem in the ESPN game last night gave Boston pen a much-needed blow so relief pitching, not a concern. |
07-16-17 | New York Yankees - Game #2 v. Boston Red Sox - Game #2 OVER 8.5 | 0-3 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 1 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Yankees/BoSox ESPN Bad Blood Bail Out is on the OVER Masahiru Tanaka was supposed to be the Yankee ace in 2017. He's sometimes very good but for the most part very bad. He rocks a 5.47 ERA in 18 starts overall and a 6.23 ERA on the road where the over is 6-3 in his nine starts. The Bombers are very familiar with David Price who they've seen a whopping 36 times since Price came up with Tampa Bay out of Vandy. Price owns a 4.76 ERA against the Bronx and was nicked for six earned runs in 5+ innings the only time he's faced NY this year back on June 6th. Both starters are very hittable, both pens are shot after Saturday's 16 inning marathon and remember this is the back end of a day night twin bill. This one has all the makings of a shootout and the Over is the play. |
07-15-17 | Cardinals v. Pirates -125 | 4-0 | Loss | -125 | 17 h 58 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday MLB Home Cooking is on the Pittsburgh Pirates The Bucs Jameson Taillon is a nice story and a pretty damn good pitcher as well. Taillon started the year well before being sidelined with testicular cancer but has returned from treatment seemingly better than ever including tossing five shutout innings in his last start before the ASB. Lance Lynn rocks a 4.42 road ERA for the Cards and is 6-7 with a 5.05 ERA LT vs. Pittsburgh. The home team gets an easy call. |
07-14-17 | Blue Jays +111 v. Tigers | 7-2 | Win | 111 | 16 h 5 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Friday MLB Super Road Dog is on the Toronto Blue Jays Aaron Sanchez has faced the Tigers just twice in his career, both games last year. Over 13 2/3 innings, he's allowed just eight total hits with three walks and an impressive 16 whiffs. Jason Verlander is just a shell of his former self and has never had success against Toronto throughout his career. The Jays are still in the hunt while Detroit prepares to be a seller at the trade deadline. Take the Jays. |
07-11-17 | American League v. National League -110 | 2-1 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 54 m | Show
Jeff Allen's 2017 MLB All-Star Game Super Play is on the Nationals There is no real handicapping involved in a game that is still basically an exhibition so at this point, you basically have to go through the rosters for depth and pitching. This year, the Nationals seem to have the edge on the mound and with the bats. Most importantly, being the home team they will bat last which presents them with all kinds of options. This looks to be the Nationals year and rates a small play if you absolutely can't pass. |
07-09-17 | Tigers v. Indians UNDER 8 | 5-3 | Push | 0 | 10 h 11 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Tigers/Tribe Sunday Night ESPN Bail Out is on the Under The Tigers are a train wreck and will be among the sellers as we approach the trade deadline. One of Motown's few bright spots has been Micheal Fulmer (8-6, 3.20) who should have double-digit wins if not for a lack of run support in many of his outings. Cleveland's Corey Kluber (7-3, 2.80) took a while to get going but rocks a 0.78 ERA in his last three which all went Under. This one looks like 3-2 one way or the other, play the Under. |
07-08-17 | Angels v. Rangers UNDER 11 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 15 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday MLB Personal Best is on the Angels/Rangers Under The Angels are hitting just .216 and averaging just 2.6 rpg over the last week and were blanked by Cole Hamels last night, generating just three hits. Rangers Tyson Ross is looking to save his spot in the rotation as he's been beat up of late. He'll never find a better spot than this against a lineup with less teeth. Texas 12-4 Under L6 off a shutout, 3-0 this year. Play UNDER the generous 11 here. |
07-07-17 | Mets +104 v. Cardinals | 6-5 | Win | 104 | 10 h 58 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Friday Night Road Dog winner is on the NY Mets with deGrom listed Jacob deGrom has single-handedly kept the Mets on life support as the New Yorkers battle through a myriad of injuried. The former Stetson All-American shortstop is 3-0 with a 0.78 ERA in his last three and is just untouchable at the moment. The Cards are just 24-23 at home and their Punch and Judy lineup just wont be able to string enough its against deGrom to do much damage. Take the Mets. |
07-06-17 | Pirates v. Phillies UNDER 9 | 6-3 | Push | 0 | 7 h 49 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Getaway Day Super Total is on the Pirates/Phillies Under World Champion Jeff Allen used the same winning formula last night with the Pirates/Phils Under and came away with an easy 5-2 winner. Similar spot tonight with Pitt 8-1 Under L9 and the Phils 5-1 Under L6. Pitt mashing at just .216 L7, the Phils just .238 L7. The series is historically low scoring with the Under 4-1 in five games this year and 13-6 low over 19 games the last three years. Tonight's starters aren't much but runs still figure to be hard to come by. |
07-05-17 | Pirates v. Phillies UNDER 9 | Top | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 14 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Personal Best Total of the Week is on the Pirates/Phillies Under Prior to getting lit in San Fran in his last, Gerrit Cole was looking like he had finally found his groove. Look for him to be on the move to a contender at the trade deadline. Ben Lively has been nails on his home field and the Under is 4-1-1 in his five overall starts. Cole starts 6-2 lowballs on the road and 12 of the l18 in the series and 7 of the l10 here have gone under so this makes a lot of sense. 4-2 .... it doesn't matter. |
07-04-17 | Red Sox v. Rangers -125 | 11-4 | Loss | -125 | 10 h 40 m | Show
Jeff Allen's MLB 4th of July Fireworks winner is on the Texas Rangers If there was ever a time that the Rangers were in a spot to cool of the streaking BoSox it would be here with Yu Darvish. Boston's David Price has been the Weakest Link since returning in early June and he's just 3-9 with a 5.42 career ERA against Texas. Darvish is off B2B quality starts against the Yankees and Indians. He hasn't faced Beantown since 2014 but will be a handful if he's just starting a form streak. Take Texas. |
07-03-17 | Angels v. Twins UNDER 10 | 5-9 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 34 m | Show
Jeff Allen's American League Super Total is on the Twins/Angels Under The Halos are 7-2 to the Under in their L9 and and tonight's starter, Alex Meyer has been razor sharp with his numbers skewed by a hiccup at Boston two back, no shame there. The Twinkies are 7-3 in Meija's 10 starts with the southpaw on a nasty 1.17 ERA run over his last three starts. Mejia generally just goes five innings but is he can stretch things out here against Trout-less Angels and Meyer does his part, runs will be tough to come by here. Play the Under. |
07-02-17 | Nationals -122 v. Cardinals | Top | 7-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 42 m | Show |
JEFF ALLEN SUNDAY NIGHT ESPN PERSONAL BEST is on the Washington Nats Washington wasted a brilliant outing from Geo Gonzalez last night thanks to shoddy defensive play. Max Scherzer has been a killer at 9-5 with a 2.06 ERA and those numbers would be much better with any kind of run support. Nats beat up Carlos Martinez last year the only time they've faced him and with Washington pen troubles ... figure on Max to go at least 100+ pitches ... he's a horse. |
07-01-17 | Rockies v. Diamondbacks UNDER 8.5 | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 18 h 7 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Fireworks Total Tyler Chatwood does his best work on the road where he rolls a 2.91 ERA in nine starts with suitcase. He's 9-5 to the Under this year and two-hit the Snakes over 7 innings the only time he has faced them in 2017. Zack Greinke is Zack Greinke and while he's found the going tougher in the desert, his ERA is still 2.68 and this is a division rivalry. Play the Under. |
06-30-17 | Rays -119 v. Orioles | 6-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 8 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Friday MLB Bankroll Builder is on the Tampa Bay Rays The Rays are money of a loss and were embarrassed last night in getting blanked by of all people Umbaldo Jiminez. Tampa Bay 21-17 off a loss and 3-0 after getting shut out this year, throw the brightest of their arsenal of good young guns in Jacob Furia (3-0, 2.10 4 starts) who has been especially good on the road. Rays rate top play. |
06-29-17 | Mets v. Marlins UNDER 9.5 | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 51 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Thursday Night MLB Super Total is on the Mets/Marlins Under Both starters are about as good as it gets for their respective teams. Seth Lugo has been good since getting his call up return for the Mets and beat Miami twice last year in September, both quality starts. Urena has been Miami's best starter and rocks owns a 1.50 ERA over his L3 starts. He shut the Mets out for six innings on one hit the last time he faced them in May and our thinking is that runs will be tough to come by here. Play the Under. |
06-28-17 | Cubs v. Nationals -160 | 4-8 | Win | 100 | 8 h 19 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Wednesday MLB Bully Beat Down It's hard to imagine that the Cubs would be getting bullied but this a team definitely suffering through a World Series hangover and a team that just does not (17-22) does not win on the road. John Lackey looks to be at the end of his line (5-8, 4.74) while Stephen Strasburg has been a little rough of late but sports 1.95 ERA in four lifetime starts against the Cubs. Just can't discount Nats 32-12 record this year under the lights. |
06-27-17 | Rays v. Pirates OVER 9 | 4-2 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 4 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Interleague Total of the Month is on the Rays/Pirates Over Tampa Bay has had a strange MO in that the Rays are killers in the first 5 innings under and 47-29 to the Over in full game spots. That's because Tampa Pen is awful and because the Rays lineup seems to be better after seeing opposing pitchers a couple of times through the lineup. Alex Cobb is 10-5 Over in his 15 starts and Trevor Williams is 5-3 over in eight starts and rocking a 6.60 ERA over his L3. Play the Over. |
06-26-17 | Cubs v. Nationals -146 | 5-4 | Loss | -146 | 9 h 36 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Monday MLB Bankroll Jumpstarter is on the Washington Nationals With any kind of run support at all, Geo Gonzalez would be a major story of the 2017 MLB season. He's 7-1 with a 2.96 overall ERA but strangely just 1-0 with just a nasty 1.66 ERA in seven home starts. The Cubs are 12-6 against lefties but at 16-21 just can't be trusted on the road. Nats a dazzling 31-10 in night games and 17-10 off a loss. Good spot. |
06-25-17 | Pirates v. Cardinals UNDER 8.5 | 4-8 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 18 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Sunday ESPN Bail Out is on the Pirates/Cards Under Using a home team in a division series to avoid a sweep is almost a play in the blind but at this point not real sure that we trust the Red Birds. Much prefer the total Under here as the series on this field is 15-8 low over the last three years including 4-1 this year. Chad Kuhl has been great his last three starts overall and last two against St Louis. He allowed just three hits in six innings in a 2-1 loss here back on April 18th. Mike Leake won that April 18th game and rocks a 3.03 ERA in 14 starts this year where the Under is 9-4. |
06-24-17 | Blue Jays v. Royals -107 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 5 h 29 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Matinee Game of the Month is on the Kansas City Royals The Jays have been flirting with .500 but just can't seem to get over the hump. Toronto is just 5-12 against left-handers and face possibly the best in the American League to this point in 2017 in Jason Vargas (10-3, 2.17) of the Royals. Vargas has won his last three starts and is 5-1 at home with a 1.81 ERA. Vargas was the first MLB pitcher to 10 wins and he'll be the first to 11 here. |
06-23-17 | Twins v. Indians -173 | 5-0 | Loss | -173 | 8 h 42 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Friday MLB Home Cooking is on the Cleveland Indians The Twins did well to lead the division into June but Minnesota has apparently hit the wall and it looks like the Indians have overcome early hangover to put the hammer down. The Twinkies are 4-8 L12 and tonight send Adelberto Meija and his 8.37 ERA L3 to the mound against a raging Indian outfit that is 8-1 L9. Trevor Baur has already beaten the Twins three times in 2017 and would appear to be in the driver's seat here. Take Cleveland. |
06-22-17 | Cubs v. Marlins +124 | 11-1 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 15 m | Show
Jeff Allen's MLB Underdog Game of the Month is on the Miami Marlins The Cubs are a VERY ordinary 14-19 on the road and tonight's starter, Jake Arrieta, is a different animal away from the friendly confines currently sporting a 3-5 road record with a 5.08 ERA. Jeff Locke was quality in his lone home start this year and if he can get some runs, should put the Fish in a good position to win. Take the Marlins as Jeff Allen's Underdog Game of the Month. |
06-21-17 | Giants v. Braves UNDER 9 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 19 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Wednesday Blue Chip MLB Total is on the Giants/Braves Under Jeff Samardzija has been a train wreck since coming to the Giants but he has shown some signs of returning to form and has excellent career numbers against the Braves where he is 3-2 with a 2.39 ERA is six starts. Sean Newcomb is a newbies but has done everything right at 0-2 with a 2.19 ERA getting no run support in 1-6 and 0-5 losses where the Hotlanta pen also put these games out of reach. Can see both starters dealing here. look for an extra half run, there are hooks out there in some places. |
06-20-17 | Giants v. Braves -105 | 6-3 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 21 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Tuesday MLB Play of the Day is on the Atlanta Braves The Giants have to be wondering to themselves how it ever got this bad. Well when you don't pitch, don't hit, run your way out of innings and play mediocre defense, you're 20 games below .500 like the Giants. Julio Tehran looks to be slowly regaining form after some nagging injuries and was quality his last two vs. the Mets and Nats. Young Braves are playing hard and look like they are having fun. A solid effort by Teheran should be all it takes to get the Bravos in the win column here tonight. |
06-19-17 | Nationals -109 v. Marlins | 7-8 | Loss | -109 | 8 h 55 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Game of the Week is on the Washington Nationals Tanner Roark may have spent some shells in March during the World Baseball Classic but he's a gamer and catches a team that he has dominated the last three starts allowing Miami just four earned runs and nine hits over the last 19 2/3 innings over three starts. Add to the mix that this is a division game and the Nats lights out 29-10 mark in night games and we have a solid play at 10 cents juice. |
06-18-17 | Red Sox v. Astros OVER 9 | 6-5 | Win | 105 | 9 h 20 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Sunday ESPN MLB Bail Out is on the Red Sox/Astros Over David Price has not been real effective since rejoining the rotation and sports a 5.00+ ERA in his four starts while trying to find a groove. Joe Musgrave has been better in his last two outing but gets hit and hit hard when he's not in the zone and that has been most of the time in 2017 as the Astro righty owns a 4.81 ERA in his 12 starts including 5.05 at home and 5.28 L3. There hasn't been much offense in the first two games of the series. We'll see some here. Play the Over. |
06-17-17 | Dodgers -148 v. Reds | 10-2 | Win | 100 | 13 h 1 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday MLB Blue Chip is on the Dodgers Allen used the Dodgers and Alex Wood last night for a pitching mismatch winner as Alex Wood dominated the the Reds dropping Cincinnati to 3-13 vs. southpaws. Dodgers use same winning formula today with Ryu who looks to rebound from a mediocre start against these same Reds just seven days ago, a game where he was saved by the offense is a 9-7 win. Look for a much sharper effort here. |
06-16-17 | Dodgers -163 v. Reds | Top | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 23 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Pitching Mismatch Game of the Week is the Dodgers (Alex Wood Listed) Wood has been nails (5-0, 2.23) all year but has had difficulty staying healthy. He cane off the DL six days ago to beat this freefalling Red outfit without being that sharp. The Dodger southpaw figures to better here and faces a team that is just 3-12 against lefties. Alex Wood will get you to the promised land and then Bum pen will get you home free. Take the Dodgers. |
06-15-17 | Nationals v. Mets UNDER 9 | 8-3 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 23 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NL Total of the Month of the Week is on the Nats/Mets Under Geo Gonzalez is the guy that gets lost in the Nat rotation because he's been cursed with no run support for his entire tenure in D.C. He has a 2.91 ERA in 13 starts and deserves a better won/loss than he has. Robert Gsellman's MLB career with the Mets had one foot on a banana peel and thanks to injuries, has been given enough time to right the ship. He's posted a 1.52 ERA in his L3 starts and has fared well in two career starts vs. the Nats. The series is 16-6 to the under L22 and looks to continue in that way tonight. Play the Under. |
06-14-17 | Mariners v. Twins -131 | 6-4 | Loss | -131 | 8 h 58 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Wednesday MLB Play of the Day is on Minnesota Twins Ervin Santana has been dealing all year with an 8-3 mark and a 2.20 ERA over 13 starts. He generally goes at least seven innings and has no problem going nine mitigating any damage the terrible twin bullpen might do. Gaviglio has been ok for Seattle but has been nowhere near as effective at home as he's been at Safeco Park. The Twinkies were embarrassed last night but have little recourse here against Ervin Santana. |
06-13-17 | Yankees -128 v. Angels | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -128 | 11 h 10 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's American League Game of the Week is on the NY Yankees The Bombers are mashing and C.C. is dealing just like his early days with the Indians. The big lefty sports a 1.31 ERA in his last three starts and comes off eight shutout innings against the Red Sox in his last outing. J.C. Ramirez has been hammered in his last two starts and face a Bronx team averaging 9.1 rpg and hitting .348 over it's L7. Yanks a solid road fave. |
06-11-17 | Tigers v. Red Sox -151 | 8-3 | Loss | -151 | 10 h 53 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Sunday Night Tigers/BoSox ESPN Bail Out winner is Boston Drew Pomeranz has surprised everyone from being a pitcher with a sore elbow staring down the barrel of Tommy John surgery to the BoSox "go to" guy. He's 6-3 and razor sharp of late with a 2.00 ERA over his last three. The Tigers Daniel Norris 0-2 LT vs. Boston with a 6.75 number in limited starts and will be in it on his own after Motown pen was mauled last night by the Beaners. Boston dominates this one start to finish of an easy win. |
06-10-17 | Blue Jays v. Mariners UNDER 8.5 | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 43 m | Show
Jeff Allen's American League Total of the Week is the Jays/Mariners Under Marcus Stroman has almost single-handedly kept the Jays alive in the AL wildcard race and is razor sharp at the moment coming off wins over three B2B2B pretty good hitting lineups in the Yankees, Reds an Brewers. Ariel Miranda has all-star type numbers and is especially good (2.02 ERA) at home. Runs figure to be very tough to come by tonight. |
06-06-17 | Giants v. Brewers -132 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 12 h 30 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's MLB Game of the Week winner is on the Milwaukee Brewers Chase Anderson is having a break out year (4-1, 3.30 ERA) so not overly concerned about LT numbers vs. the Giants. San Fran in complete freefall and have Matt Cain toeing the rubber here against a team (3-8, 5.01 ERA) that he has never fared well against in his career. Brew Crew better lineup, better pitching, home field and the price is definitely right. |
06-04-17 | Cardinals v. Cubs -156 | Top | 6-7 | Win | 100 | 16 h 43 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Sunday Night MLB Bail Out on ESPN is on the Chicago Cubs Both these long time rivals are struggling at the .500 mark but gotta like the Blue Bears tonight with Kyle Hendricks toeing the rubber. Both Wacca and Hendrick has struggled this y ear but while Wacca rocks the big ERA, Hendricks shows very nice (3.27 ERA, 1.009 whip, 8 starts) against the Red Birds. The Cubs hitting just .156 L7 prior to yesterday's "break out" 5-3 win over the Red Birds, hopefully the on notice Schwarber and Co. will start to get things going. |
06-02-17 | Braves +110 v. Reds | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 53 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National Leagiue Games of the Week is on the Atlanta Braves The Braves are not much but for the most part give you an honest effort and play hard. Mike Foltynewicz got beat up at San Fran in his last but two prior were both quality starts and his best numbers are on the road. Bronson Arroyo has an ERA of over 8.00 in his last three starts giving up 9 home runs (18 for the year) out of 22 hits. Rarely look to the Braves but will here at plus money. |
05-31-17 | Yankees +101 v. Orioles | 4-10 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 12 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Wednesday night MLB High Heat winner is the New York Yankees We're just a little more than a quarter of the way through the season at this point but this is still a benchmark game for Masahiro Tanaka. The former Japanese ace bounced back from two brutal starts by stopping the A's on a run and five hits over seven strong but really needs good B2B starts. Baltimore is just 1-8 over it's L9 and sends Kevin Gausman to the mound with his 6.00+ ERA. He's been hit hard his last couple against the Bombers despite good overall LT stats against the Bronx. Yankee bats and pick'em price is hard to ignore. |
05-30-17 | Diamondbacks v. Pirates +101 | 3-0 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 3 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Tuesday MLB Blue Chip is on the Pittsburgh Pirates Ex-Yankee Ivan Nova has single-handedly delayed the expected Pirate fire sale until at least around the All-Star break by going 5-3 with a 2.83 ERA and actually deserves better. Snake starter Robbie Ray has the gaudy number but was beaten in Arizona just two weeks ago (May 14th) by Nova and Pittsburgh. Right back on the short turnaround. |
