11-04-15 | Raptors +8.5 v. Thunder | 103-98 | Win | 100 | 10 h 26 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NBA Play of the Day is on the Toronto Raptors This number is boarder line absurd The Raptors are one of the top teams in the East and yes ... could win the whole thing. Toronto is big, athletic, deep and very talented with lunch pail guys that just do their jobs. OKC could very well be 1-3 and while they are at home, are not eight points better a night than Toronto. Grab the points. |
11-03-15 | Nuggets -1 v. Lakers | Top | 120-109 | Win | 100 | 15 h 44 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Game of the Week is on the Denver Nuggets The Nuggets are somewhat dinged with injuries but still have enough on their roster to deal with the Lakers and their horrendous defense. A game with the Lakers will cure what ails you offensively and the Nuggets have already beaten the Rockets on the road this year. Denver 119-104. |
11-02-15 | Suns v. Clippers -9 | 96-102 | Loss | -102 | 12 h 6 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NBA Play of the Day is on the Clippers The Clippers haven't broken a sweat in winning their first three games. Would look twice before laying this type of number against a feisty Phoenix bunch, especially with Golden State on deck but .... Phoenix plays well against its own kind and consistently falls short against NBA eliite. Lay it. |
11-01-15 | Bucks v. Raptors UNDER 202.5 | 87-106 | Win | 100 | 10 h 22 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NBA Play of the Day is on the Raptors/Bucks Under |
10-31-15 | Warriors -4.5 v. Pelicans | Top | 134-120 | Win | 100 | 12 h 17 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Play of the Day is on the Golden State Warriors New Orleans looks like a work in progress and a team that has a ton of talent but just hasn't quite seem to find a rotation. The Warriors have picked up right where they left off and have smoked their first couple of opponents including this one on opening night when Steph Curry went of for 27 in the first quarter. GSW EZ. |
10-30-15 | Wolves v. Nuggets -3.5 | 95-78 | Loss | -104 | 9 h 7 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NBA Play of the Day is on the Denver Nuggets |
10-29-15 | Hawks v. Knicks +4 | 112-101 | Loss | -107 | 10 h 21 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Thursday Night NBA Best Bet is on the Knicks New York blew out the Bucks in Milwaukee last night in never in doubt fashion. The game was over early so the Knick bench got work and was not taxed by minutes. Hawks lost opener and may have regresses from the 60-22 top seed in the East from last year to the .500 team their roster talent dictates. Knicks straight up. |
10-28-15 | Pacers v. Raptors -5.5 | 99-106 | Win | 100 | 11 h 45 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NBA Play of the Day is on the Toronto Raptors The Raptors got off to a flying start last year but seemed to peak early before bowing early in the playoffs. They've made some nice additions during the offseason and have very tight deep roster. The Pacers have done some housecleaning and while they too have made additions, are basically a .500 team in the East. Take Toronto. |
10-27-15 | New Orleans Pelicans +10 v. Golden State Warriors | 95-111 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 51 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Opening Night NBA is on the New Orleans Pelicans Not much handicapping involved here. The Pelicans are a solid up and coming team with a great roster full of depth that includes Anthony Davis. This is a team that would be a top four seed in the East and has no excuse to not make playoffs this year in the West. The Warriors have been able to keep their team in tact but tonight full of distractions as they hand out rings and raise the banner. Coach Steve Kerr who is recovering from back surgery will be watching from press box. Grabbing the points here. |
06-16-15 | Golden State Warriors v. Cleveland Cavaliers OVER 194 | 105-97 | Win | 100 | 11 h 52 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NBA Finals Game VI Super Total is the Warriors/Cavs Over |
06-16-15 | Golden State Warriors -4 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | Top | 105-97 | Win | 100 | 11 h 53 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Finals Game Six Super Play is on the Golden State Warriors There is no real handicapping involved in this series. If Golden State makes shots, they win. In fact, the Warriors shot 34-81 (41%) in their three wins and 20-69 (29%) in their two losses. Cleveland just doesn't have the finishers or the scoring to trade with Golden State which has gotten in gear with 100+ points in the last two games. Lebron was directly responsible for 70 of the Cavs 91 points in the last game and the Lebronettes (the rest of the Cavs) have been able to get out of the 50s in three games. If Golden State has an AVERAGE shooting night. The NBA season end tonight. Golden State gets out fast forcing Cleveland to open things up and the Over gets there as well. |
06-14-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers +8.5 v. Golden State Warriors | 91-104 | Loss | -103 | 35 h 34 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Cavs/Warriors Game Five Insider With both teams having gained splits on the others home court, we've basically held serve through four games. To say that this game is pivotal is an understatement as the winner of Game Five of NBA playoff series tied 2-2 goes on to win the series 71% of the time. The series has a very real MO, the team that shoots the ball wins. The Warriors who depend on the three point bomb were 22-57 from beyond the arc in their wins and just 20-69 in two losses. An exhausted Cav outfit shot 4-27 from beyond the arc in Game Four, 33% for the game. "Exhausted" is the key word here. The first three games were close and when the bench light Cavs were somewhat fresh from the week off. Cleveland is 15-0 straight up this year with 2+ days rest and that was without Lebron, Kyrie or Kevin Love (or combinations of all of the above). With so much on the line, we just don't see the Cavs lying down here. Take the points. |
06-11-15 | Golden State Warriors v. Cleveland Cavaliers OVER 193 | 103-82 | Loss | -108 | 11 h 57 m | Show
Best Bet: Warriors/Cavs Over |
06-11-15 | Golden State Warriors -2.5 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | Top | 103-82 | Win | 100 | 11 h 58 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Game IV NBA Finals Bluechip is on the Golden State Warriors It's cliche to say the Warriors have their backs against the wall but no team has EVER come back from 3-1 down in the NBA finals. Talk about the Warriors poor shooting all you want but the bottom line is Golden State is getting pushed around by a team with A LOT LESS talent. The Warriors may have finally found themselves in the fourth quarter of Game III scoring 30+ points for the first time in the series. Wardell "Steph" Curry broke into MVP mode knocking down four treys in the final two minutes, two with a difficulty factor of 10. Teams that "must" win often don't. Here we have a much better team in a great spot, Warriors haven't lost three straight all year. |
06-09-15 | Golden State Warriors -1.5 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | Top | 91-96 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 1 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Finals Game of the Year is on the Golden State Warriors Golden State was fortunate to escape their two home games 1-1 as the Warriors have been absolutely miserable shooting the ball. In fact, they're 18-62 beyond the arc in the series including an 8-35 brickfest in Game II. MVP Steph Curry has been a non-factor and was 2-13 fron downtown being covered primarily by Mathew Dellavedova. We've played the Under in the first two games but have no interest in the high/low here after the adjustment. We also thought the Cavs would need the bench and a bench player to step up in Game II and got both. The bench has 21 points after just nine in Game I. The player that stepped up wasn't J.R. Smith but instead was James Jones. The Cavs were +22 in his 23 minutes off the pine. In the end, we just don't think the numbers from the first two games are sustainable. Warrior shooting just cannot be this bad and the Cavs bench won't be THAT good. Lebron will get his but there at least eight players on the Warriors that can get theirs. Vegas is basically just asking Golden State to win and we think they do just that comfortably on the road tonight. |
06-07-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Golden State Warriors UNDER 202 | Top | 95-93 | Win | 100 | 11 h 4 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Finals Game Two Super Play is on the Under The Warriors have won eight of ten in the series, nine of which were decided by 8+ points. That said, even with Irving done, not interested in laying big points with Golden State team that really hasn't covered big number for at least the last 90 days. The Game I under was snuffed by overtime but have to wonder where Cavs points will come from other than Lebron who will probably need to get at least 40 tonight. The X-factor for the game just might be JR Smith who just 3-14 in Game I. That fact won't escape Golden State who was No.1 in defensive efficiency for most of the year. Play the Under. |
06-04-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Golden State Warriors UNDER 203 | Top | 100-108 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 10 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Final Game One First Blood is on the UNDER The Warriors are 79-18 in all games this year and they've gotten to this point by playing defense. Golden State was 1-2 in league defensive efficiency for most of the year before going somewhat on cruise control after clinching the West. That said, they ratcheted up the "D" in the playoffs where the Under is 8-2 in their L10. The Cavs have also played defense when it really counts and their final three games against the toothless Hawks. Sure both teams have some excellent spot up shooters but neither team has played in a week and we may see some jitters and a feeling out period that keeps this one below the posted 202.5/203 total. |
05-27-15 | Houston Rockets v. Golden State Warriors UNDER 217 | 90-104 | Win | 100 | 13 h 24 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Rockets/Warriors Game Five Super Play is on the Under We were 3-0 in this series going into Game IV where we played the Under and got smoked in a 128-115 final. It's hard to say that the "Cap" was solid bit it was as the teams combined on an NBA playoff record 37 threes shooting and almost incomprehensible 49% from behind the arc. In truth, not much effort by Golden State who pretty much mailed it and was compounded by the Steph Curry fall. The facts are that the Warriors have allowed 100+ points three times in 14 playoff games, one game that went to OT and the other where the opponent hit 19 threes. With Cleveland already penciled in for the East, expect a focused Golden State team to take car of business with a 108-96 type win at the Oracle. |
05-26-15 | Atlanta Hawks +8 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | Top | 88-118 | Loss | -109 | 12 h 27 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Hawks/Cavs Game IV Personal Best is on the Hawks There didn't look to be a team further down and out than the Houston Rockets in their Game IV last night but Houston came up with a big effort and unconscious shooting from the field to extend their series another game. At the end of the day, these are all pros and the Hawks won 60 games and the Eastern Conference a full ten games ahead of the Cavs. Unreal effort by Lebron in last and Kyrie should be back here but .... four Cav starters played 43+ minutes and they could care less about the way we keep score. Hawks get best player back in Horford who should be super motivated after ejection and count on a proud Atlanta team to circle the wagon. Hawks may not win but they will leave it on the floor and the eight points is not inconsiderable. Play Atlanta. |
05-25-15 | Golden State Warriors v. Houston Rockets UNDER 214 | Top | 115-128 | Loss | -115 | 19 h 32 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Warriors/Rockets Game Four Super Play is on the UNDER We're not going to mess with a winning formula. If you've followed us in the series you know that we've ridden the Under the last two games of this series and with no adjustment to the total, we'll come right back with the Under here. The Warriors have really turned up the juice on defense where they were No.1 in defensive efficiency for most of the year. In 10 of their 12 playoff games, they've held their opponents to less than 100 points with one game going over in overtime. The Rockets are not likely to shoot as poorly as they did in Game III (28-83, 33.7%, 5-25 from three) but they'll still be life and death to get 100 and the defense figures to be much better as well. Play the Under. |
05-23-15 | Golden State Warriors v. Houston Rockets UNDER 214.5 | Top | 115-80 | Win | 100 | 12 h 9 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Western Conference Game III Super Play is on the UNDER We see a major totals adjustment here from the 220 we saw in Games I and II but it probably won't matter as both teams have ratcheted up the defense. In fact, Golden State has allowed just 100 points twice in the playoffs, once in the overtime Game II vs. the Pelicans and in Game II of this series when both teams shot lights out in a shootout. Remember that the Warriors were No.1 in the NBA in defensive efficiency and after taking the foot off the pedal late in the regular season have flicked the switched again in the postseason where the Under is 9-2 in their games. Right back with the low ball. |
05-22-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Atlanta Hawks OVER 196.5 | Top | 94-82 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 24 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Round Two Total of the Year is on the Cavs/Hawks Over Periferal numbers say that this number is a bit high but this series has been historically high scoring and there was plenty of meat left on the bone in Game I for example .... 12 missed foul shots and a combined 14-49 shooting from downtown including an abysmal 4-23 by the Hawks who have their backs against the wall here. The ATL's best defensive stopper, DeMarre Carroll, is doubtful for this game and just can't imagine hime being much even if he does play after watching him go down in a heap on Wednesday. Expect 35+ from Lebron and better shooting from both teams as this one goes flying OVER the total. |
05-21-15 | Houston Rockets v. Golden State Warriors UNDER 220 | Top | 98-99 | Win | 100 | 12 h 43 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Western Conference Game Two Super Play is on the UNDER Not interested in the side with Golden State still unbeaten against Houston this year and laying double-digits again, the Warriors 5-9 ATS in their L14. Tuesday's game went under despite both teams shooting 46%+ from the field and knocking down 18 threes. It could be said that the games could have also gone over as both teams combined to miss 18 free throws. With Game I in the books, bot teams can get back to business which includes Golden State's all but forgot defense. Trevor Ariza, Josh Smith, James Harden, Sean Livingston and Steph cannot be expected to shoot lights out like 48 hours ago. Warrior 8-1 under last nine and in the end, this final ends closer to 200 than 220. |
05-20-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Atlanta Hawks | Top | 97-89 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 14 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Eastern Conference Game I Super Play is on the Atlanta Hawks The Atlanta Hawks have won seven of the last eight meetings with the Cavs including the last five games at the Philips Center, all by eight points or more. Going down 2-1 to the Wizards just might have been the slap in the face that has woken up a Hawk team that sleepwalked down the stretch after starting the year 50-8. We still don't believe we've seen the same Hawks that steamrolled the league the first four months of the season but Hotlanta is getting healthy and starting to shoot the ball, something they really haven't done with any consistency to this point of the playoffs. Lebron has been a Game One dog in seven playoff series in his NBA career. His teams are 2-5 straight up in those games. Atlanta 106-96. |
05-19-15 | Houston Rockets +10.5 v. Golden State Warriors | Top | 106-110 | Win | 100 | 12 h 6 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Western Conference Game One First Blood is on the Houston Rockets Golden State was 4-0 against the Rockets this year with all four wins coming by 11+ points. Teams that swept an opponent 4-0 in the regular season and then went on to meet that team in the playoffs are 55-6 in that subsequent series. With all that said, in the playoffs, you have to take your shots and the Rockets are razor sharp, full of confidence and getting 10+ points. Plus, Dwight Howard is as healthy as he's been in any of the regular season games vs. the Warriors (missed three) and Houston can shoot the ball. It took the Warriors a while to figure out the Grizz but they 6-16 ATS in L22 and were useless covering these big over-inflated numbers down the regular season stretch. Grab the points. |
05-17-15 | Los Angeles Clippers -2.5 v. Houston Rockets | 100-113 | Loss | -100 | 16 h 25 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Win or Go Home winner is on the Los Angeles Clippers The Clipper look to avoid a monumental collapse. They've had the best of it for almost the entire series before mailing in the final 20 minutes of Game Five and then blowing an 89-70 lead late in what should have been a clinching Game Six in what turned out to be a "perfect" Houston Rocket fourth quarter storm. The difference in the series is D'Andre Jordan. Not the-hack-a-Jordan, but rather foul trouble. The Clippers are +72 with him on the floor and -37 when he sits. In the end, the Clippers are MUCH the better team. |
05-15-15 | Atlanta Hawks +2.5 v. Washington Wizards | Top | 94-91 | Win | 100 | 11 h 20 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Hawks/Wiz Game Six Super Play is on the Atlanta Hawks The spot looks to be much the same as we saw last night with the Cavs/Bulls. In Game Five of the series the Wiz got huge lift in getting John Wall back, race out to a big lead, get run down by a big Hawk rally late and beat on the Al Horford put back with 1.8 seconds left. That loss had to crushing and at the same just might be the spark to get the sleepwalking 60 win Hawks back on track just in the nick of time. Focused businesslike effort by the Hawks gets the job done here, especially if they get off to a fast start that would induce the Wiz to fold their tent. Hawks by eight. |
05-14-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers +2.5 v. Chicago Bulls | Top | 94-73 | Win | 100 | 12 h 49 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Cavs/Bulls Game Six Super Play is on the Cleveland Cavaliers Both teams have been ravaged by injuries and both teams have had to suck it up and do their best with a next man up approach. Pao Gasol has been upgraded to probable for this game after sitting out Games Four and Five telling the press that he was 40% with his damaged hammy. The Cavs need to close this out to get healthy themselves but from a handicapping standpoint it is tough to back a team that is 3-13 this year as a dog and 0-4 as a road dog of three or less. Tough to take the Bulls who have shot less than 40% the last three games, all three decided by five points or less. In the end, we'll back the best player on the planet getting points. The Cavs should have won the last two games by double-digits but almost let Chicago off the hook with late rallies. Cavs take care of business and gain some extra rest as the Wiz/Hawks looks like it might very well go seven games. |
05-13-15 | Memphis Grizzlies +9.5 v. Golden State Warriors | 78-98 | Loss | -103 | 13 h 29 m | Show
Jeff Allen says take the Memphis Grizzlies Memphis getting no respect after getting mugged in Game IV. That's going to happen every once in a while when you play the Warriors which is why you need to be able to go into the Oricle and win which the Grizz have already proven that they can do. Memphis hasn't had a whole lot of straight up success vs. Golden State but they've been a tough out in this playoff while Golden State has been life and death to go 3-8 ATS in its L11 games overall. Take the points. |
05-13-15 | Washington Wizards +8 v. Atlanta Hawks | 81-82 | Win | 100 | 11 h 50 m | Show
Jeff Allen says take the Washington Wizards The Wiz are on a 10-3-1 ATS run which could easily be 12-1-1. Despite losing two of their L3 vs. the points (not co-incidentally when John Wall went out), the Wiz were down two in the final 90 seconds before losing by ten and then late foul in last allowed another cover in the last. With or without Wall, the Wiz can play with this Hawk outfit that never has regained their Mojo of first 60 games. Take the points. |
05-12-15 | Los Angeles Clippers -2.5 v. Houston Rockets | Top | 103-124 | Loss | -114 | 15 h 32 m | Show |
JEFF ALLEN'S NBA ROUND TWO GAME OF THE YEAR is on the Clippers Heart check time for the Rockets who became the first team in NBA history to lose B2B games in this round by 25+ points. The Clippers have owned this team winning 11 of the L15 in the series and have to be ultra confident here. Houston might do well to try and get Jordan out of the game on fouls rather than send him to the line 30 times. Los Angeles is +76 with Jordan on the floor, +8 without him. Houston's only series win was a a game that the Clippers played without Chris Paul and could have very easily won. Do the Rockets compete here. Nothing in their M.O. says yes. The Clippers are more than happy to get the extra rest by closing this out in five games. Take Los Angeles. |
05-11-15 | Golden State Warriors v. Memphis Grizzlies UNDER 196 | 101-84 | Win | 100 | 14 h 47 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Warriors/Grizz Game IV Super Play is on the Under The most difficult thing about handicapping this game ultimately decides the side and the total and that would be how the Warriors shoot and protect the ball. We have a 90 game body of work that says that 67-win (regular season) was the best shooting team in the NBA and basically never turned the ball over yet in the last two games the Warriors are a combined 12-54 from beyond the arc while turning the ball over 37 times. You can't assume that G.S. will flip the switch tonight and the Grizz will have a lot to say a lot about that with their outstanding team defense and rebounding. What we do know is that Memphis will bring it tonight as the Grizz smell blood in the water and obviously realize the importance of going up 3-1. For Memphis to do that, they'll have to win 98-93, not 118-15. Seven of the last nine in the series have gone under as have all three in this series. Play the Under. |
05-10-15 | Houston Rockets v. Los Angeles Clippers UNDER 217 | 95-128 | Loss | -105 | 36 h 12 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Sunday Prime Time Super Play is on the Rockets/Clips Under The Clippers have won eight of 11 in the series and four of the last five series games here but we're not ready to bury Houston and lay these big points knowing that a wounded animal is the most dangerous. The Rockets have shot poorly all series going just 27-92 from downtown in the series and watching their shooting percentage drop for 45-43-40 in the first three games of the series. Gut check game for the Rockets that started the year as the best defensive team in the the NBA for the first 60 days and need to defend the Clippers inside and out, not allowing JJ Redick to score 31 in a playoff game. Four of the last six in the series played at the Staples have gone under and we expect to a much lower scoring game here. Play the Under. |
05-10-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers -1.5 v. Chicago Bulls | 86-84 | Win | 100 | 31 h 9 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Cavs/Bulls Game Four winner is on the Cavs Not much for the infamous zig-zag system but in this particular spot and in this particular series it applies. The one consistent thing about the Bulls in that they are inconsistent and this has been a team all year that has not been able to stand prosperity. Here they'll be forced to put together B2B big games and today with an at best gimpy "hamstring" Pao Gasol. The Cavs couldn't have played any worse than they did in Game III shooting just 31% inside the arc and were still just beat by a miracle buzzer beating three. Looking for a repeat of Game II wher Lebron takes the team on his shoulders early and the Cavs go wire-to-wire. |
05-09-15 | Golden State Warriors v. Memphis Grizzlies UNDER 196.5 | Top | 89-99 | Win | 100 | 12 h 5 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Warrior/Grizz Game III Slam Dunk winner is on the Under The Warriors were perfectly set up in a Memphis perfect storm scenario in Game II loss, just their third home loss all year. The Grizz are very capable of repeating that effort here but either way prefer a play on the total here. Memphis obviously can't trade points with Golden State so they'll have to play their usual defense, crash the boards and then have Conley perfectly play their inside out offense taking time off every 24 second clock, shortening the game. Six of the last eight Memphis games have gone under, six of the last eight series games have gone under as have both games in this series. Play the Under. |
05-08-15 | Houston Rockets v. Los Angeles Clippers -4 | Top | 99-124 | Win | 100 | 20 h 30 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Rockets/Clippers Game III Rim Rocker is on the Clippers The Clippers figure to get Chris Paul back tonight although "officially" it is a "game time decision". Gotta think the hammy will be good to go here with a week of rest. The Clippers starting five are arguably the best starting five in the NBA and when they get any kind of support off the bench, they are tough to beat. Game II was strange in that it was a foul fest with the Rockets getting to the foul line a whopping 64 (42) times. They probably won't get that in two games in LA and will have to bank on the 16-59 three point shooting to this point in the series. The Clipper have won seven of the last ten in the series and three of the last four here. No blow out but Clippers by 8-12. |
05-06-15 | Chicago Bulls +6 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | Top | 91-106 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 23 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Bullls/Cavs Game Two Nothing but Net is on the Chicago Bulls The Bulls had optimum time off in Game One, getting four days to prepare. Jet enough to get healthy and stay sharp after a "harder than it had to be" six game firts round win over the Bucks. The Cavs were down Kevin Love and JR Smith and had eight days off after sweeping Boston so it wasn't surprising the Bulls were able to grab Game One. There is no brain surgery here. The game will be determined on whether Derrick Rose can come back in 48 hours after a huge Game One and whether Lebron has enough in the tank to improve on his 9-22 shooting in Game One. The Cavs must also play defense because if the Bulls can shoot 50% from the floor including 10-18 from downtown, Chaicago wins straight up .... AGAIN! |
05-05-15 | Washington Wizards +6.5 v. Atlanta Hawks | Top | 90-106 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 37 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Wiz/Hawks Game Two Super Play is on the Washington Wizards Don't look now but the Wiz are unbeaten in the NBA playoffs at a perfect 5-0. After sitting for more than a week, the Wiz came back from 10 down early to easily dispatch Atlanta in Game One, controlling pretty much all of the second half. The Wiz have won all three playoff roiad games and catch significant points here against a team that is 1-5 ATS in its L6 home games, the cover was a ten point win over Brooklyn where they were laying 9 and up two with 2:10 left in the game. The very deep Wiz bench was +35 in Game One. Take the points. |
05-04-15 | Chicago Bulls +5 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | Top | 99-92 | Win | 100 | 11 h 25 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Bulls/Cavs Game One First Blood winner is on the Chicago Bulls The Bulls come into this one off an underwhelming six game win over the Bucks. Looking ahead ??? We'll see here. The Cavs have had eight days to get used to life without Kevin Love and will have to shake off any ring rust right away. Expect the Bulls to be much more interested here smelling blood in the water. If you really take a look at Derrick Rose, you will find that he plays best with rest which he'll have here, but not too much. Cavs won and covered three of four in the series this year and have won six straight covering four. Urgency all with the Bulls here who prioritized this game and put the Cavs on their heels when they are most vulnerable. Bulls straight up. |
05-03-15 | Memphis Grizzlies +10 v. Golden State Warriors | Top | 86-101 | Loss | -104 | 13 h 9 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Grizz/Warriors Prime Time Slam Dunk The Grizz will likely be without point guard Mike Conley who will probably need a few extra days after surgery for multiple facial fractures. That said, it wasn't an issue as the Grizz dispatched Portland rather easily with their next man up approach. Golden State has won four of five in the series with four of the five staying under. Memphis, with or without Conley, can defend the Warriors to a point and catching ten big points here. Same old story in Oakland. Golden State has won eight straight games, covering ONCE. The Warriors are overpriced. |
05-03-15 | Washington Wizards +5.5 v. Atlanta Hawks | 104-98 | Win | 100 | 11 h 50 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Washington/Atlanta Game One Super Play is on the Wizards Forget the Wizards play the final ten games of the regular season. Washington was absolutely dominant in sweeping the Raptors out in four straight. You could argue that the Wiz might show some ring rust not having played in eight days but this was a team nursing a myriad of nagging injuries that have had times to heal (Wall, Nene, Temple) and certainly old war horse Paul Pierce who was so important in Round One will appreciate the extra time. The Hawks won the season series 3-1 but the Hawks have been nowhere near the razor sharp outfit they were through 60 games and nursing several injuries themselves. Grab the points. |
05-02-15 | San Antonio Spurs v. Los Angeles Clippers -2 | Top | 109-111 | Push | 0 | 15 h 35 m | Show |
JEFF ALLEN's SPUR/CLIPPERS WIN OR GO HOME SUPER PLAY is on the CLIPPERS Sadly, one of these two teams will be going home after tonight. Without a doubt the best series of the playoffs, the games have been pretty easy to analyze. The Clippers shot 47.5, 51 and 53% in their three wins and 42.4% or less in the three losses. The Clippers have been hanging in without any substantial bench play except in Game Four. They'll need to get some bench play tonight, shoot the ball and Jordan is going to have to make 50% of his free throws. This is a legacy defining series for Chris Paul who might very well just take over against the undermanned San Antonio guards. The home side has lost four of the last five of the series and the defending champion Spurs always have a shot and might very well should be favored here but thinking that Doc and the Clippers can come up with 60 minutes of magic here and advance to the next round. |
05-01-15 | Atlanta Hawks -3.5 v. Brooklyn Nets | Top | 111-87 | Win | 100 | 19 h 32 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Hawks/Nets Game VI Super Play is on the Atlanta Hawks We're looking at the Hawks in much the same light we viewed the Bulls last night and while we certainly don't expect Atlanta to win by 56 points, we do expect the one-seeds to win this comfortably. The Hawks have had some problems regaining the form that saw them win 50 of their first 59 games but slowly but surely Atlanta is coming around. Remember that Atlanta has had several injuries to key people including Kyle Korver (broken nose), Paul Milsap (sore knee) and Al Horford (shoulder) while Jeff Teague has slumped at point. Hawks shot well and dominated the Nets on the glass (55-37) a repeat performance of which equates to a double-digit win here. |
04-30-15 | Chicago Bulls -3 v. Milwaukee Bucks | 120-66 | Win | 100 | 13 h 39 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Bulls/Bucks Game Six Super Play is on the Bulls The Bulls have done themselves no favors by losing the last two games after rolling to a 3-0 series lead. Give Milwaukee and Jason Kidd all props for not quitting but the Bucks basically got by thanks to 28 Bull turnovers in Game III and 4-22 shooting from downtown in Game IV. No team has ever blown a 3-0 lead in the NBA and with this game on the road and all Game VII's a crap shoot, the noose is getting tighter on the Bulls who should be preparing for the Kevin Loveless Cavs. Expect focus and and urgency from the Bulls tonight who put together a professional effort here tonight and finish off the upstart Bucks. |
04-29-15 | Brooklyn Nets v. Atlanta Hawks -8.5 | 97-107 | Win | 100 | 9 h 23 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Game Five Nets/Hawks Super Play winner is on the Atlanta Hawks The Hawks are actually victims of having clinched the top seed in the East after just 50 games and taking their foot off the pedal. They've never regained the edge that had them 50-8 at on point and along with Golden State, the most feared tam in the NBA. Atlanta hasn't covered a game in this series but the two losses at the Barclay Center may have just been the wake up call this team needed to put together its first complete game in a month. Hawks with their most focused and complete game of the playoffs, win by 20. |
04-28-15 | Dallas Mavericks v. Houston Rockets UNDER 222 | 94-103 | Win | 100 | 12 h 50 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Rockets/Mavs Tuesday night Super Play is on the Under The Rockets had every opportunity to close out the Mavs on Sunday but gave up a 9-0 Dallas run to close the first half and missed their first 13 shots of the third quarter to essentially get buried. Not real interested in laying seven with the Rockets here despite the home team winning seven of nine in the series. Mavs shot 53% from the field in their two home games but just 44% and 37% in the first two games in Houston where they scored 99 and 108 points. Expecting a very focused Houston team to come out and play great defense tonight while holding Dallas under the century mark. Play the Under. |
04-27-15 | Memphis Grizzlies +3.5 v. Portland Trailblazers | Top | 92-99 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 50 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Memphis/Portland Game Four Super Lock is on the Memphis Grizzlies Game Fours with a team up 3-0 up are a bit tricky but one thing is for sure. Good teams close out. Cleveland is a good team, Golden State is a good team, Houston is a good team that picked a bad time to miss 17 straight shots from the field and had no urgency after the Spurs loss. Memphis is a good team. The Grizz have won seven straight in the series, 11 of the L12. Memphis ld by double-digits at the half in all three games and have led an incredible 116:16 of the 144 minutes played in the series. Wrong team favored here, Memphis straight up. |
04-26-15 | Houston Rockets -2.5 v. Dallas Mavericks | Top | 109-121 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 6 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Sunday NBA Bailout Super lock is on the Houston Rockets The Rockets have won none of their L11 overall and seven of eight in this series. If there was ever a spot for the Mavs to circle the wagons and come up with a win, it was Game III after sending Rondo home and shutting down Chandler Parsons for the year. It was all men on deck and the Mark Cuban's still couldn't get a win. It's been a different hero in all three games for Hpuston who hasn't even had to ask James Harden to take over. Expect token resistance from Dallas for a half before the Rockets shut them down to close out the series and take advantage of full rest as they advance to the Western Conference Final Four. |
04-25-15 | Memphis Grizzlies +3 v. Portland Trailblazers | Top | 115-109 | Win | 100 | 15 h 49 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Round One Game of the Year is on the Memphis Grizzlies The Grizz have won six straight and 11 of the last 12 in the series and that just doesn't figure to change here. The Grizz have turned the defense up to high in clobbering the Blazers in the first two games with leads of 11 and 19 at the half. The Blazers could manage no better than 34 and 39% from the field and could manage just 13 fast break points. Lilliard has been a non-factor and the banged up Blazers seem resigned to call it a year. Memphis straight up. |
04-25-15 | Atlanta Hawks -2.5 v. Brooklyn Nets | 83-91 | Loss | -106 | 7 h 18 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NBA Playoff Matinee winner is on the Atlanta Hawks The Hawks take a 2-0 lead to the Barclay Center off two lifeless wins against and equally lifeless Nets team in Hotlanta. The Hawks won by 7 and 5 in the first two games despite shooting just 22-61 from downtown. Atlanta has won the last seven iin the series and will likely look to get this over with as quickly as possible with their likely second round opponent Washington up 3-0 in their series. Brooklyn looks to have very subtly mailed it in. Hawks by ten. |
04-24-15 | Houston Rockets +1 v. Dallas Mavericks | Top | 130-128 | Win | 100 | 9 h 14 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Play of the Day is on the Houston Rockets The Rockets have been playing some of their best basketball of the year winning eight of their last ten overall and winning the first two games of this series easily by double-digits. Houston has done exceptionally well from the foul line shooting 80 times from the charity stripe as opposed to just 55 for the Mavs. Dallas was not really competitive in Games I and II and have now shut down Chandler Parsons for the season (knee) and have basically sent Rondo home. Houston won on this floor 108-101 as recently as April 2nd and Dallas have given no indication whatsoever that anything in the series will change. Houston wins this one easily. |
04-23-15 | Golden State Warriors -5 v. New Orleans Pelicans | 123-119 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 20 m | Show
Best Bet: Golden State |
04-23-15 | Chicago Bulls -2.5 v. Milwaukee Bucks | 113-106 | Win | 100 | 10 h 46 m | Show
Best Bet: Chicago |
04-23-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers -4.5 v. Boston Celtics | 103-95 | Win | 100 | 9 h 46 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NBA Play of the Day is on the Cleveland Cavaliers |
04-22-15 | Portland Trailblazers v. Memphis Grizzlies -6 | 82-97 | Win | 100 | 33 h 28 m | Show
Allen's Portland/Memphis Game Two Super Play is on the Memphis Grizzlies The Blazers showed nothing in Game One blowout loss. Memphis held Portland to just 33% shooting from the field and just six fast break points. Granted Portland was dinged going in but so were the Grizz who have have won five straight in the series and ten of the last eleven. Memphis has covered none of ten in the series so for the most part, the games have not been close. Took this game right away as it will likely be bet up to eight by game time. Portland has lost four of five on the road and can't be back until they show something. Grizz roll to another double-digit win. |
04-21-15 | Boston Celtics +11.5 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | Top | 91-99 | Win | 100 | 9 h 13 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Eastern Conference Opening Round Game of the Year in the Boston Celtics The Celtics played an excellent first 20 minutes in Game I vs the Cavs, even busting out to an eight point second quarter lead. They succumbed to a big Cav run before the half and never mounted a serious challenge thereafter but as poorly as they played in the second half, they still had Game I covered until the final 20 seconds when Phil Pressey decided he would get in the box score any way possible and fouling 30 feet away from the basket down 11 with 20 seconds left. Celts will play better with playoff game under their belts. Feel very confident that this could be Boston's best effort of the series. Take the points. |
04-20-15 | New Orleans Pelicans v. Golden State Warriors -12 | Top | 87-97 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 46 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Playoff Play of the Day of the Day is on the Golden State Warriors Warrior and Under players both lost in Game I, victims of perhaps a perfect storm. Golden State completely dominated the game until the fourth quarter, led by 18 at the half and by 20+ several times. That, despite not playing well at all in the sense that the team shot just 61% from the foul line (21-34) and that the bench was only able to come through with 12 points. Golden State is just 1-7 ATS in their L8 laying ridiculous points but they are 10-1 (8-3 ATS) in the series and put the hammer down here just on principal. |
04-19-15 | San Antonio Spurs +1.5 v. Los Angeles Clippers | Top | 92-107 | Loss | -105 | 60 h 35 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Spurs/Clippers TNT Sunday Night Street Fight winner is San Antonio The Spurs have have won 11 of 12 and the Clippers seven straight so sadly one of these two will be going home next week. The Spurs lost the last two in the series after winning six of the prior seven. The visitors are also 3-2 straight up in their L5 trips to the Clip joint and have been lights out despite surprising final game loss to the Pelicans that dropped them to sixth in the West. In the end, Spurs depth will wear down superior Clipper size and starting five. Take San Antonio. |
04-19-15 | Boston Celtics +11 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | 100-113 | Loss | -100 | 52 h 57 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Celts/Cavs Game One Super Play is on the Boston Celtics The Celtics have won eight straight including a home and home sweep of a "resting" Cavs outfit last week. Boston has in fact won the last five of seven in the series and are 27-14 ATS on the road this year. Both coaches are in the playoffs for the first time but still have to give big edge to Brad Stevens who really should be considered for coach of the year. In the end, simply too many points to give to a team that is ultra-confident and playing without fear loose and easy. |
04-18-15 | New Orleans Pelicans v. Golden State Warriors UNDER 205 | Top | 99-106 | Push | 0 | 28 h 29 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Round One Western Conference Playoff Total of the Year is on the Pelicans/Warriors Under Not interested in the side at all here. Golden State has won none of ten in the series with the Pelicans getting their OT win in New Orleans 11 days ago. Not sure if New Orleans will be satisfied after beating the Spurs Weds to get in while Warriors have covered just one of their last six to end an amazing 67-15 season. Time for Golden State to flip the switch on defense where they were first most of the year. They finished second after allowing better than 108 ppg in their L5 and better than 105 ppg in their L10. That was with one-seed in hand and simply playing out the string. In four of the last six vs. Golden State we found the Pelicans scoring 93, 86, 87 and 96 points and we'll figure on a number in the 80s here. Five of the last six in the series have gone under and that's what we'll expect here. |
04-18-15 | Washington Wizards +4.5 v. Toronto Raptors | 93-86 | Win | 100 | 26 h 31 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Game One Upset Shocker is on the Washington Wizards With Toronto winning seven of the last eight in the series including four of five here plus taking four of five down the stretch, on the surface it would appear that all roads lead to the Raptor. Especially when you consider the Wiz also lost three of four down the stretch with seeding on the line. That said, the Wiz lost final two games in OT when they could have rested everyone and and mailed the games in. Washington won a series last year (Toronto has not gotten out of the first round since 2001) while Toronto gave there's away after getting an early lead. The series has been low scoring and defensive with the last two meetings being decided by four and two points respectively. Expecting that type of game here with five of the last six at this venue going under the total. Washington is the better team and we expect them to win outright. |
04-15-15 | Portland Trail Blazers v. Dallas Mavericks -5 | Top | 98-114 | Win | 100 | 10 h 46 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Lay Down Lock of the Year winner is on the Dallas Mavericks Neither team has anything to play for. The Blazers are locked into the No.4 seed in the West by virtue of winning their division and the Mavs have been pretty much locked into the No.7 hole for the last 30 days. That said, this is an excellent spot for Dallas who dot back on track on their final roadie, winning at Denver and the Lakers and then sending all their starters home to rest before mailing it in at Utah on Monday. With a likely first round matchup with the Spurs (and Dallas ALWAYS gives San Antonio fits), it's likely one and done so this is the perfect opportunity for Dallas to go out and absolutely hammer someone in their final home game. They'll have a willing opponent in Portland. LaMarcus Aldridge has been upgraded to probable but will likely see only token minutes here to nurse his bad foot. C.J. McCollum, Nicolas Batum, Chris Kamen are all expected to miss and Aaron Affalo is out with a shoulder injury. It will likely be Damian Lillard, Robin Lopez the end on the Portland bench and three guys off the street here against the full compliment of Mavs looking to tune up in their final home game. Dallas is 4-1 SU and ATS in the L5 in the series on this floor when the teams play for real. Dallas rolls wire-to-wire in an easy 20+ point win. |
04-14-15 | Washington Wizards +9 v. Indiana Pacers | Top | 95-99 | Win | 100 | 11 h 19 m | Show |
Jeff Allen Wiz/Pacers Tuesday Super Play is on Washington The Pacers control their own destiny for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East. They lose the tie-breaker with Brooklyn so with the Nets hosting Orlando tomorrow, Indiana must essential win out, tonight and tomorrow at Memphis. It''s not clear what the Grizzlies agenda is at this point but the key for Indiana is win ... not cover nine big points. These two are very familiar with each other having met in the playoffs last year, 11 time since Jan 2014. The Wiz are 6-2 ATS in their L8 visits to this venue and generally always play this team tough. No indications from the Wiz that they intend to sit people, possibly John Wall and Nene on limited minutes. Nine points is simply too many. |
04-13-15 | Milwaukee Bucks -1.5 v. Philadelphia 76ers | 107-97 | Win | 100 | 7 h 28 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NBA Play of the Day is on the Milwaukee Bucks The Bucks have clinched a playoff spot and can now guarantee themselves missing Cleveland in the first round with a win over the lowly 76ers whom they've beaten three times by double-digits this year. Philly just 1-10 in their L11 and have nowhere to go in the hunt for ping pong balls. A win here and Milwaukee can relax till the weekend. |
04-12-15 | Charlotte Hornets v. Detroit Pistons -7.5 | Top | 77-116 | Win | 100 | 7 h 6 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Play of the Day is on the Detroit Pistons The Hornets are obviously a team that has quit. They've lost 12 of their L17 to play themselves out of any shot at a playoff spot and four of their L5 with the only win a one point win over the 76ers. The Pistons have also lost four of five but been representative against future playoff teams and had won four of five before that, mainly against their own kind. This is a bigger number than we would probably like but with three of the last four Hornet losses by 18+ points, figure on just token resistance here the homestanding Pistons roll. |
04-11-15 | Toronto Raptors +3 v. Miami Heat | Top | 107-104 | Win | 100 | 12 h 11 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Toronto/Miami Saturday Night Street Fight winner is Toronto The Raptors won a huge game last night in their come from behind win at Orlando. Toronto is now tied for third in the East with the Bulls and control their destiny as to whether playing Washington or Milwaukee in the first round of the playoffs Big game here against a Miami team that has just been finding ways to lose and doesn't seem to be real interested. The Heat are 1-5 in their L6 and led by 21 at the half in their last only to get beat by double-digits .... at home! Take Toronto. |
04-10-15 | Minnesota Timberwolves v. Los Angeles Lakers -5 | Top | 98-106 | Win | 100 | 13 h 2 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Game of the Year Winner is on the Los Angeles Lakers Granted, both teams are train wrecks, neither team is playing well, both teams have secured their lottery picks and both have been playing out the string for a long time. That said, this is an opportunity, possibly their last, for the Lakers to come up with a big effort for the Staples Center home crowd for what could possibly be the final time this year. The 16-62 Timberwolves have won seven road games this year and while one of them came here at Showtime in November, Minnesota has won once with suitcase since February 8th in Detroit. The Wolves are dinged and playing a mash uniit of what they have left and are 0-5 SU (1-4 ATS) while being outscored by an average of 109-93 while allowing their opponents to shoot 49.6% from the field and being outrebounded 56-41. Numbers wise, the Lakers are not much better but the team has shown that it is capable of an effort, most recently as Monday vs. the Clippers and today they are playing a team they have beaten the last two meetings including a 101-99 decision at The Target Center in March 25th. The Lakers have some guys that are somewhat talented and making the most of their time in an effort to secure end of the pine spots somewhere next year. We're talking about the Jordan Clarksons, Jabari Browns and Ryan Kellys of the world. Wesley Johnson is as good as anything the Wolves have at his spot. Andrew Wiggins and Kevin Martin are Minnesota's only scoring options and if they can just be contained, the Wolves don't get of of the 80s setting things up for an easy double-digit Laker win. Los Angeles 108-89. |
04-09-15 | Chicago Bulls +1.5 v. Miami Heat | Top | 89-78 | Win | 100 | 13 h 45 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Bulls/Heat TNT Bluechip is on the Chicago Bulls Both teams need this game in the worst way. The Heat are fourth in a four team dogfight (all four separated by a half game for the final two playoff spots in the East. The Bulls are in a three team race for two first round home courts in the East and currently lead the Wiz by a full game. Both teams are struggling at the moment with Chicago losing three of four and Miami losers of four of five. The Bulls took a bad loss last night at Orlando, blowing a big lead and then getting outscored 26-16 in the final quarter. Derrick Rose returned to action scoriing 9 points in 19 minutes but was just 3-9 from the field. He'll be questionable here in the second of B2Bs. The Heat have covered four straight as a home favorite but have also surrendered big leads in two of their last three games and look to be dinged and out of gas. Decent spot for the Bulls who are in a 9-4 ATS spot avenging home losses, in this case a 96-84 home loss to Miami on Jan 25th. The Bulls are a better team and flat out just find a way. |
04-08-15 | Houston Rockets v. San Antonio Spurs UNDER 208.5 | Top | 98-110 | Win | 100 | 10 h 27 m | Show |
JEFF ALLEN'S WESTERN CONFERENCE TOTAL OF THE YEAR IS ON THE ROCKETS/SPURS UNDER Don't look now but the currently No.6 Spurs are just 1.5 games back of No.2 Houston in the logjammed NBA Western Conference. Sure there are a bunch of teams in the mix that could go up and down, that will be sorted out in the next ten days. Even though the last six games if the series have all been decided by six points or more, not interested in the side here. The total by our numbers is tic under six full points more than what it should be and that is where the value lies. Prior to the last meeting, a 110-106 win by the Spurs on this floor back on December 28th, the previous four meeting went comfortably under the total. The last meeting featured 23 treys and would have been substantially higher had the Rockets not missed 16 foul shots. Spurs allowing just 89 ppg per over their L5 and several key techs for both team clearly say LOW. The Western Conference Total of the Year is on the Rockets/Spurs Under. |
04-07-15 | Golden State Warriors -3.5 v. New Orleans Pelicans | Top | 100-103 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 49 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Play of the Day is on the Golden State Warriors The Pelicans refuse to throw in the towel. They've won four of five and are just a game in the win column behind OKC for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West. That said, tough spot for the home team here. Golden State has won 11 of 12 and are off a blowout loss at San Antonio in their last, they've lost B2B games just three times all year. The Warriors have won 10 straight in the series and this would a first round playoff matchup if the Pelicans were to sneak in. Golden State wouldn't want to send a bad message with a lay down performance here. Kerr put the hammer down. |
04-06-15 | Wisconsin v. Duke UNDER 140 | Top | 63-68 | Win | 100 | 13 h 3 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Wisconsin/Duke Championship Game Super Play is on the UNDER Both teams have arrived at this point by playing big defense. The Badgers have ratcheted up their defense and are stopping people when it counts as they did in the final five minutes vs. Kentucky. In the first meeting, Duke shot 65% (30-46) from the field including 7-12 from downtown. That won't happen here as these are both two different teams four months later. The Dukies are allowing 55 ppg in their five tournament wins and the UNDER 8-1 in all Duke tournament games this year. Play the Under. |
04-05-15 | Golden State Warriors +5.5 v. San Antonio Spurs | Top | 92-107 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 31 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's Warriors vs. Spurs Best of the West Play is on Golden State Golden State has won 11 straight covering nine, the Warriors are 6-2 as a road dog. The Spurs have won and covered nine of their L10 so something has to give. We really like what Steve Kerr is doing in playing things out, playing everyone and just monitoring the minutes. The Warriors expended little energy in routing the Mavs 123-100 last night. Back-to-backs are not necessarily a bad thing for Golden State are they are 8-5 ATS on the road is they played the night before. The teams have split two games with the visitor winning both. At the end of the day, just can't look past the substantial points with a team that is averaging 111 per over its L5 and crushing everyone in its path. |
04-04-15 | Wisconsin v. Kentucky -5 | 71-64 | Loss | -110 | 60 h 26 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Final Four Game of the Year is on the Kentucky Wildcats These teams met in this game last year with Kentucky winning by a point as an eight-seed. This game will come down to who can impose their will on who. Wisconsin is off a near perfect second half in their regional final in which it shot 10-12 from beyond the arc, 30-39 in all shots in the final 20 minutes and still won by just seven points. Kentucky allowed just 53 ppg. in its first four tourney wins holding opponents to just 26% from downtown. The Badgers averaged 80.5 ppg. in its four tourney wins, knocking down 37 treys. In their three losses this year, Wisconsin averaged 61.7 ppg. Kentucky sometimes struggles on offenses but they ALWAYS bring it on the defensive end. The Wildacts go to 39-0 and one game from the prize with a ten point win here. |
04-04-15 | Boston Celtics +3 v. Toronto Raptors | Top | 117-116 | Win | 100 | 12 h 56 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Play of the Day is on the Boston Celtics Both teams lost last night but while the Raptors are for the most part locked into the four sport and a home court in the East, the Celtics took a crushing home loss to Milwaukee and now find themselves on the outside of the playoffs looking in at both Brooklyn and Miami. That said, Boston now finds themselves in their best spot ... back against the wall and in the second of back-to-backs where they are 9-1 ATS in their L10. Boston has also won its last three road games straight up and is an outstanding 17-4 L21 as a road dog. Urgency, spot and points adds up to the Celtics as a slam dunk play of the day. |
04-04-15 | Michigan State v. Duke -5 | 61-81 | Win | 100 | 58 h 52 m | Show
Allen's Final four Super Play is on the Duke Blue Devils Duke beat Michigan State 81-71 in November in the ACC/Big Ten challenge improving Coach K's LT straight up edge over Izzo to 9-1. A lot has changed since November as Sparty has peaked at the right time winning nine of their last ten with the only loss an OT loss to Wisconsin in game they really should have won. The Spartans last two wins have been comebacks from double-digit deficits and their time has just run out. Duke is allowing just 53 and change a game in this tournament and Michigan State just does not have the offensive players to keep up or come from behind, especially if the game is called tightly with lots of fouls. Over the L10 years, favorites in this round are 17-11-1 and Duke looks much the best in this matchup. Lay the points . |

04-03-15 | New Orleans Pelicans v. Sacramento Kings UNDER 205.5 | Top | 101-95 | Win | 100 | 15 h 53 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's NBA Play of the Day is on the Pelicans/Kings Under These same two teams met a week ago in New Orleans with an identical 205.5 total and the teams scored a combined 190 points. The Pelicans trail OKC by a game-and-a-half for the eight hole in the NBA West and with eight to play and a game in hand, every game in must win at this point for New Orleans, especially a game like this. The Pelicans will do what they do which is play defense. They've held their last four opponents to 90 ppg. including the Kings (88) on the 27th. The Kings will be without second leading scorer Rudy Gay (concussion) and if Anthony Davis can put the squeeze on Boogie Cousins, Sacramento doesn't have a whole bunch of other scoring options. The Pelicans are playing to get out of Dodge with a win, the Kings are playing out the string and waiting to hit the golf course in two weeks. The result might be a little closer with the reverse in home but looking for a similar 102-88 final from the 27th. Play the Under. |
