09-12-23 | Cardinals v. Orioles OVER 10 | Top | 5-2 | Loss | -115 | 19 h 45 m | Show |
These teams playing the second of their set here on Tuesday after the Orioles took game one on Monday, 11-5. The Cardinals had gone over in six straight before a couple of Unders vs the Reds. The Overs got back on track last night with 16 total runs scored. Adam Wainwright has had a tough year for the Cardinals at 3-11 with a 8.19 ERA. Hard to believe he's been even worse of late, going 0-7 in his last seven starts with a 9.74 ERA. John Means will make his first start for the Orioles after joining the team in Boston over the weekend. Means makes his first MLB start in nearly 17 months here on Tuesday. Means, a one time All-Star, was runner up to rookie of the year in 2019. This will be a big test for the young pitcher to see if he's making it back from his long recovery from surgery. For me, I'll wait and see. But no matter what, Wainwright has been horrible and I'll take the OVER here on Tuesday. |
|||||||
09-08-23 | Cardinals v. Reds OVER 10 | Top | 9-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 53 m | Show |
The Cincinnati Reds have won seven of their last 10 games and still within striking distance of 1st place Milwaukee in the NL Central. The Reds trail by just two games. They are also in the hunt in the NL Wildcard race, just a half game back in those standings. So every game is big for the Reds. They face a Cardinals team that just took two of three games from the Braves and scored 26 runs in the three game set. The Cards have also gone over in five straight games, scoring at least five runs in each of those. The Cardinals start Drew Rom today who is 0-2 in his three starts with a 7.24 ERA. The Reds will start Andrew Abbott who is 8-4 in 17 starts with a 3.22 ERA. Not quite so good lately, going 2-2 in his last seven starts with a 5.67 ERA. I'm sticking with the OVER in these Cardinals games as they continue to hit the ball well with little pitching on the other end. Play OVER. |
|||||||
08-29-23 | Astros v. Red Sox OVER 10 | Top | 6-2 | Loss | -113 | 9 h 22 m | Show |
It's a tight race in the AL West as one game separates the top three teams. One of those are the Houston Astros, who are 1 game back of the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners have surged into first place thanks to a 9-1 run. Meanwhile, Texas has been struggling to 2-8 their last 10 and Houston 5-5. The Red Sox are in 4th in the AL East, 13.5-games back of the Orioles. The Sox still have a shot at a AL Wildcard as they are 4.5-games back with four teams ahead of them. Houston will start J.P. France today. France is 8-5 in his 18 starts with a 3.62 ERA. He's coming off a horrible start, where he allowed 11 hits and 10 runs over just 2 1/3 innings to the Red Sox. Now he has to face them again here today. Boston will start Brayan Bellow who is 10-7 with a 3.56 ERA in 22 starts. He's been slightly higher with the ERA in his last seven starts, having a 4.46 mark. Both these teams can score as they both average five runs per game. The Houston bullpen has been bad of late, posting a 6.37 ERA in his last seven games. Boston has been even worse, allowing a 7.07 ERA over their last seven games. Two struggling pens and two very good scoring teams. I'll take the OVER today. |
|||||||
08-27-23 | Rockies v. Orioles OVER 9 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -111 | 2 h 19 m | Show |
Interleague action has the Colorado Rockies playing on the East Coast at Baltimore. The Rockies have lost six games after dropping the first two of this series at the Orioles. The Orioles have taken both the first two games by the same score, 5-4. The Rockies have been a good over team, with a 8-1-1 O/U mark their last 10 games. The Rockies will start Ty Blach here today who is 1-1 in his six starts with a 3.25 ERA. The Orioles continue to lead the AL East by three games over the Rays. Baltimore has won four straight and seven of their last eight games. They are also 6-3-1 O/U in their last 10 games. Jack Flaherty makes his first start since Aug 15th. He is 8-8 in his 23 starts with a 4.73 ERA. He is coming off a bad start on the 15th where he allowed seven runs over three innings to the Padres. I like this one to go over today. Play OVER. |
|||||||
08-20-23 | Mets v. Cardinals OVER 10 | Top | 3-7 | Push | 0 | 5 h 54 m | Show |
Two teams that this time of the year are usually figuring in the playoff picture just playing out the rest of the season at this point. The Mets are 58-66 and 23 games back in the AL East. Meanwhile, the Cardinals are in last in the AL Central. The Mets will start Carlos Carrasco today who is 3-6 on the season with a 6.40 ERA. He's been even worse lf late, going 1-3 in his last seven starts with a 7.18 ERA. The Cardinals will start Dakota Hudson who is 3-0 in his four starts with a 4.15 ERA. Not a lot to see on Hudson, though the team has won all four of his starts. I'm taking the OVER in this one on Sunday. |
|||||||
08-08-23 | Braves v. Pirates OVER 10 | Top | 8-6 | Win | 100 | 17 h 10 m | Show |
The Braves and Pirates play game two of this set here on Tuesday as the Bucs took Monday's game from the Braves, 7-6. The Braves have a huge cushion in the AL East as they lead by 10-games over the Phillies. The Braves also have the second best run differential in baseball at +162. The Bucs are fourth in the NL Central, nine games back of the Brewers. They are also 7.5-games back in the NL Wild Card race with a lot of teams in front of them. The Braves will start Yonny Chirinos today who is 2-2 in his six starts with a 6.67 ERA. The Bucs will counter with Mitch Keller who is 9-8 in his 23 starts and a 4.35 ERA. He's been worse of late, going 1-5 in his last seven starts and a 6.58 ERA. He's allowed 24 runs over his last four starts 21 2/3 innings. Don't expect either of pitchers to be around long. I'm taking the OVER. |
|||||||
07-24-23 | Reds v. Brewers OVER 9 | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -119 | 8 h 13 m | Show |
 NL Central clash here today has the top two teams in the division playing for first place. The Milwaukee Brewers are in 1st place, but only by a half game over the Reds. The Reds have won five straight games to pull within a half game. Still, both teams have run differentials in the negative values. The Reds will start Graham Ashcraft here today. Ashcraft is 5-7 in his 18 starts with a 5.76 ERA. The Brewers start Colin Rea with a 5-4 record in his 16 starts and a 4.57 ERA. Both teams can hit the ball and neither pitcher is all that good. I'll take the OVER here today. |
|||||||
07-05-23 | Pirates v. Dodgers OVER 9 | Top | 4-6 | Win | 100 | 13 h 39 m | Show |
The Pirates and Dodgers have split the first two games of this series from LA with the Dodgers taking game one and the Pirates game two on Tuesday, 9-7. The Dodgers are back in 2nd place in the NL West, 2.5-games back of the Diamondbacks. Despite going just 5-5, the Dodgers have gained some ground thanks to a 4-6 run by the Diamondbacks. The Pirates have passed the Cubs in the NL Central as they moved into third place, 6.5-games back of the Reds. Osvaldo Bido will get his fifth start of the season here on Wednesday. Bido is 0-1 with a 4.74 ERA. The Dodgers will counter with Bobby Miller who is 4-1 in his seven starts and a 4.23 ERA. That number goes up a bit at home to 5.81. Neither pitcher all that great with the ERA and for me that's an OVER play here on Wednesday. |
|||||||
06-28-23 | Reds v. Orioles OVER 9.5 | Top | 11-7 | Win | 100 | 8 h 14 m | Show |
The Cincinnati Reds took Tuesday's contest from the Baltimore Orioles even with a slight rain delay, 3-1. The Reds continue to hold onto 1st place in the NL Central with a 42-38 record and 1/2 game lead over the Brewers. The Reds are the only 1st place team in baseball with a negative run differential as their sits at -20 runs. The AL East 2nd place Orioles have a +30 run differential as they chase first place Tampa Bay. Good news is they sit atop the Wild Card standings in the AL with a 5.5-game lead over the Yankees and Angels. The Reds will start Luke Weaver here today. Weaver is 1-2 in his 12 starts with a lofty 6.86 ERA. Moreover, he's allowed 10 runs over his last 8 1/3 innings. The O's will counter with Kyle Gibson who is 8-5 in his 16 starts and a 4.30 ERA. Gibson has allowed eight runs over his last nine innings. I look for a lot of runs scored in this matchup. I'll be on the OVER. |
|||||||
06-13-23 | Guardians v. Padres UNDER 7.5 | Top | 3-6 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 44 m | Show |
The Cleveland Guardians are in 2nd place in the AL Central with a 31-34 record, 1.5 games back of first place Minnesota. The Guardians beat Houston on Sunday, 5-0, taking two of three games against the Astros. Cleveland will start Tanner Bibee tonight who is 2-1 with a 3.04 ERA. Bibee has allowed more than three runs in just one of his last eight starts this season. The San Diego Padres look to move up the ranks in the NL West as they sit in 4th place right now with a 31-34 record. The Padres start Joe Musgrove tonight. Musgrove is 3-2 in his eight starts with a 4.36 ERA. He's been better at home with a 3.00 ERA in three starts. Musgrove has been especially good of late, allowing just three total runs over his last three starts (17 1/3 innings) with 17 KO's and just four walks. Both pitchers looking very good. For me, I'll take this game UNDER the total. |
|||||||
05-30-23 | Royals v. Cardinals UNDER 9 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 27 m | Show |
No matter what the standings for these teams it's always a rivalry when Kansas City and St Louis matchup. The Royals are in last the AL Central while the Cardinals are in last in the NL Central. The Royals start Zack Greinke who is 1-5 on the season with a 4.55 ERA. He's been much better of late, allowing three earned runs over his last two starts. Miles Mikolas starts for the Cardinals with a 3-1 record and 4.23 ERA. He's allowed five total runs over his last four starts. Both pitchers pitching well and I will take the UNDER here today. |
|||||||
05-17-23 | Diamondbacks v. A's OVER 9 | Top | 5-3 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 42 m | Show |
 Arizona continues to hold onto second place in the NL West, three games back of the Dodgers. They have leveled off though, going 5-5 their last 10 games and losing on Tuesday to Oakland, 8-9. The teams have split their first two games of this series with the D'backs winning on Monday, 5-2. The Oakland A's finally got to the double digits in wins with their win on Tuesday. Still, they have the worst record in baseball at 10-34 and worst run differential in baseball at -159 runs. Ryne Nelson will start for the D'backs today with his 1-2 record in eight starts. He also has a 6.20 ERA and 1.549 WHIP. The A's counter with Luis Medina, who is 0-2 with a 8.18 ERA. Neither pitcher is very good and considering how many runs the A's allow, I'll be on the OVER here today. |
|||||||
05-11-23 | Padres v. Twins UNDER 8 | Top | 3-5 | Push | 0 | 12 h 6 m | Show |
 Both these teams took of Wednesday after playing game on Tuesday with the Padres winning that one, 6-1. The Padres got back above the .500 mark with a 19-18 record, 3.5-games back of the Dodgers in the NL West. The Twins are in 1st place in the AL Central at 20-17 and the only team in the division with a winning record and positive run differential (+22). The Padres will start Yu Darvish who is 2-2 in his six starts with a 3.19 ERA. Darvish has pitched well, allowing one run in three of his last four starts. The Twins counter with Bailey Ober who is 2-0 in three starts with a 0.98 ERA. He's only allowed two total runs in 18 2/3 innings. Two very good pitchers here today. I'll play the UNDER. |
|||||||
04-04-23 | Braves v. Cardinals OVER 10 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -103 | 7 h 10 m | Show |
 The Atlanta Braves off to a 3-1 start after four games. The Braves took two of three from the Nationals to open the season. They opened this set with the Cardinals winning last night, 8-4. Dylan Dodd will toe the rubber for the first time this season. In fact, he makes his major league debut here tonight. Meanwhile the Cardinals are 2-2 to start the season. They took two of three from the Blue Jays to open the season and lost the opener here last night. They have gone over in three of their four games thus far. They have also scored at least four runs in each game. Steven Matz will make his first start this year. Matz was 5-3 with a 5.25 ERA last year. Neither pitcher all that great here today and the way both teams have been hitting, this looks like an over to me. |
|||||||
08-18-22 | Diamondbacks v. Giants UNDER 7 | Top | 5-0 | Win | 100 | 6 h 32 m | Show |
 Arizona took game three of this four game set with the Giants last night, 3-2. The Giants still lead the series two games to one. Tonight, the Diamondbacks will start Zac Gallen who is 8-2 in his 22 starts with a 3.02 ERA. Gallen has been even better of late, posting a 2.08 ERA and 4-0 record in his last seven starts. The pen has been solid also, especially of late with a 2.61 ERA over their last seven games. The Giants look to stay above the .500 mark tonight as they sit 59-58. The Giants need to make up room in the NL Wild Card and quickly. They are 5th right now for one of three wild card slots, 5-games back of the Padres for that third spot. Logan Webb has been excellent for the Giants, posting a 11-5 record in his 24 starts with a 3.00 ERA. He's coming off a eight-inning outing vs the Pirates where he allowed five hits and no runs. These are two very good pitchers and I look for a low scoring game here today. Play the UNDER. |
|||||||
08-02-22 | Dodgers v. Giants UNDER 8 | Top | 9-5 | Loss | -105 | 21 h 46 m | Show |
The Dodgers finally won a game this year at Oracle Stadium in San Francisco. They were 0-3 before their win on Monday, 8-2. The Dodgers lead the Padres in the NL West by 12-games. The Giants fell below the .500 mark with their loss. One of the stars of the starting staff starts tonight for the Dodgers in Tyler Anderson. Anderson is 10-1 in his 17 starts with a 2.64 ERA. He's been slightly better of late with a 2.28 ERA his last seven starts. He has also allowed more than one run in just one of his last five starts. The Giants have now lost seven of their 10 games to the Dodgers this year. Onetime Dodger Alex Wood starts tonight for the Giants. Wood is 7-8 in his 20 starts with a 4.11 ERA. HE's been slightly better at home with a 3.78 ERA. Wood has not allowed more than two runs but one time in his last five starts. I look for this to be a low scoring game here tonight. Take the UNDER. |
|||||||
07-13-22 | Astros v. Angels UNDER 7.5 | Top | 1-7 | Loss | -125 | 19 h 15 m | Show |
The Houston Astros led 5-1 over the Angels on Tuesday entering the 7th inning, but gave up four runs and had to win it in the top of the 9th, 6-5. That was the team's 12th win in their last 14 games. Cristian Javier will start today for the Astros with a 6-4 record and 3.55 ERA. Javier has allowed two runs or fewer in four of his last five starts. The Angels losing streak extended to five games with the loss on Tuesday. The Angels are 1-5-1 O/U in their last seven home games. They are also 6-17-3 O/U in their last 26 overall. Shohei Ohtani will get the start today for the Halos. Ohtani is 8-4 in his 14 starts with a 2.44 ERA and slightly better 2.13 home ERA. Ohtani has been great of late, allowing NO runs in each of his last four starts (26 2/3 innings) with 40 KO's and just five walks. Don't see many runs being scored here today. I'll take the UNDER. |
|||||||
07-02-22 | Red Sox v. Cubs OVER 9.5 | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 38 m | Show |
The Boston Red Sox lost game one of this series with the Cubs on Friday night, 5-6. That dropped them to 43-34 on the season and 13-games back of the Yankees in the AL East. Josh Winckowski will start today for the Sox with a 3-1 record in his four starts and a 3.60 ERA. The Cubs will counter with Alec Mills who will make just his second start of the season. Mills only went 2 2/3 innings in his first start vs St Louis, allowing six hits and five runs. Boston has gone over in their last four Interleague games. The last four of five in this series have gone over and that's what I look for again today. Play the OVER. |
|||||||
06-29-22 | Astros v. Mets UNDER 8.5 | Top | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 3 h 39 m | Show |
The Astros and Mets play their second game here today from New York. The Astros took Tuesday game, 9-1. Today they get their Ace, Justin Verlander on the mound. Verlander is 9-3 in his 14 starts with a 2.22 ERA. His road ERA has been even better with a 2.04 ERA. Verlander coming off that fine performance over the Yankees where he went seven innings, allowed just four hits and one run. The Mets have lost two straight and four of their last six games. The Mets haven't done well in IL games of late, going 0-5 their last five vs a winning AL team. Taijun Walker will toe the rubber today for the Mets. Walker is 6-2 with a 3.03 ERA in his 12 starts. Two excellent pitchers here today. I look for a low scoring game. Play UNDER |
|||||||
06-18-22 | Yankees v. Blue Jays UNDER 8.5 | Top | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 4 h 13 m | Show |
Reason: The Yankees assault on the AL East continues as they have now won eight straight games, including a sweep over AL contender Tampa Bay and an open win over Toronto on Friday, 12-3. Jameson Taillon will start today for the Yankees. Taillon is 7-1 in his 12 starts with a very solid 2.93 ERA. In his 12 starts, Taillon has allowed over three runs just one time and that was a four run outing. Toronto has lost two straight after their loss on Friday night. The Jays are now 11-games back of the Yankees in the AL East. Alek Manoah will start today for the Jays with a 8-1 record in his 12 starts and a 1.67 ERA. Manoah right now looks to be a key contender for a AL Cy Young the way he's pitching. He's allowed no runs over his last two starts (12 innings) and more than two runs just one time all season (3 runs on June 2). This looks to be a great pitching matchup today and I'll be on the UNDER in what looks to be low scoring. |
|||||||
06-17-22 | Yankees v. Blue Jays UNDER 9.5 | Top | 12-3 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 33 m | Show |
The NY Yankees continue to roll through the NL East, winning seven games in a row after sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays. The Yankees took the three-game set from the Rays allowing just four total runs in the process. Jordan Montgomery will get the start today for the Yankees. Montgomery is 2-1 in his 12 starts with a 2.70 ERA and 0.975 WHIP. He's been very consistent, allowing two runs or fewer in 10 of his 12 starts and just three runs in the other two starts. The Blue Jays are 37-26 overall, but still trail the Yankees by 10-games in the AL East. Ross Stripling will get the start today. Stripling is 2-1 in his seven starts with a 2.81 ERA. He's also been very good, allowing no runs over his last two starts with just two total hits (11 innings). Both these pitchers should keep this game very low scoring and as such, I'll be on the UNDER today. |
|||||||
06-01-22 | White Sox v. Blue Jays UNDER 8.5 | Top | 3-7 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 11 m | Show |
The Toronto Blue Jays have won six straight games after their opening game win in this series with the White Sox last night, 6-5. The Jays have improved to 28-20 and are just a half game back of the Rays in the AL East for 2nd place and 5.5 back of the Yankees for 1st place. Hyun-Jin Ruy will start today with a 2-0 record and 5.48 ERA. Most of tha ERA came in his first two starts where he allowed 11 runs in 7 1/3 innings. Then he had almost a month off with an injury before returning on May 14th. Since his return, Ryu has three very good starts, allowing just three runs over 15 2/3 innings. The Sox dropped below the .500 mark with their loss last night. They will try to get back there tonight with Michael Kopech on the hill. Kopech is 1-1 in his eight starts with a very good 1.29 ERA. He's been even better in his four road starts with a 0.45 ERA. I like this game UNDER! |
|||||||
04-17-22 | Yankees v. Orioles UNDER 8.5 | Top | 0-5 | Win | 100 | 3 h 38 m | Show |
 The Yankees improved to 5-4 on the season with their win a Baltimore on Saturday, 5-2. They teams have split the first two game so this series with the rubber match here today. Both games have gone under the total. In fact, The Yankees lack of hitting and decent pitching has resulted in seven of their nine games this year going UNDER the total. Nestor Cortes starts today. He pitched well in his first start against Toronto, going 4 1/3 innings and allowing three hits and no runs.The Orioles are just 2-6 this season and like the Yanks they have been a dead under team with a 0-7-1 O/U/P record. Only The team has scored two runs or fewer in six of their eight games. Bruce Zimmermann starts for the O's after a excellent opening start. Zim went 4 innings and allowed just three hits and not runs to the Brewers. This one looks like another dead under play today. |
|||||||
04-11-22 | Padres v. Giants OVER 8.5 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 16 m | Show |
 The San Diego Padres opened the season in fine form by taking three of four games in Arizona. The final on Sunday had them blowout the D'backs, 10-5. The Giants had a much more difficult series with the pesky Miami Marlins. While they took two of three from Miami, all three games where decided by just one run and Friday's game the Giants had to come from behind to win in extra innings. Nick Martinez takes the hill for the Padres today. Martinez returns to the MLB after four seasons in Japan where he starred for the Fukuoka Hawks, posting a 1.62 ERA last season. His last year in the MLB came in 2017 where he went 17-30 with a 4.77 era in four seasons with the Rangers. Alex Wood toes the rubber for the Giants. Wood had a very good season last year in his first with the Giants, posting a 10-4 record and 3.83 ERA. I'm not sold on Martinez back in the US after what wasn't a very good stint in his last try. I'll take the OVER here today. |
|||||||
10-27-21 | Braves v. Astros OVER 8.5 | Top | 2-7 | Win | 100 | 6 h 13 m | Show |
The Braves took game one of the World Series here on Tuesday night, 6-2. The total was a push for the over/under players. Tonight, the Astros looks to salvage one of the two home games. For me, I'm returning to the total here tonight. The Astros held to their lowest total so far in the playoffs last night. They have been a big scoring team in these playoffs, so this was unusual. Tonight, Max Fried takes the hill for the Braves. He's been very good, but had one of his worst outings last time out in the NLCS vs the Dodgers, going just 4 2/3 innings and allowing eight hits and five runs. Jose Urquidy will counter for the Astros, He also is coming off a poor start vs the Red Sox in the ALCS, going just 1 2/3 innings and allowing five earned runs and five hits. I don't expect the Astros to be held in check every game here and tonight I look for a higher scoring contest. Play the OVER. |
|||||||
10-22-21 | Red Sox v. Astros OVER 8.5 | Top | 0-5 | Loss | -115 | 19 h 21 m | Show |
Boston has their backs against the wall here on Friday as they face elimination in the ALCS. They trail the Houston Astros 2-3 as we play games 5 and 6 in Texas. The Astros took the last two games in Boston by a combined 18-3 score, with both game just getting over. The Red Sox will turn their best pitcher of late, Nathan Eovaldi. Eovaldi won the Wild Card game over the Yankees and then had a no decision in his one Tampa Bay start and beat the Astros. He's allowed six runs in his 15 2/3 innings of work in the playoffs. Houston will start Luis Garcia who faced off against Eovaldi in their last game. He only went one inning and allowed two hits and five runs, one of those a grand slam. He's now allowed 10 runs in just 3 2/3 innings of playoff work. I'm going to stick with what's worked and that's the OVER. |
|||||||
10-19-21 | Astros v. Red Sox OVER 10 | Top | 9-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 33 m | Show |
If you didn't know better you might think that the Boston Red Sox know what pitches the Houston Astros pitchers are throwing. Well, that could very well be the case as some are saying the Astros pitchers are tipping their pitches before throwing them. IT sure looks that way since the Red Sox once again pounded the ball with their their grand slam in just three games with the Astros on Monday night. The Red Sox taking a 2-1 lead in this series with a 12-3 Monday win. That makes 21 runs by the Red Sox in just the last two games. For me, I've been on the OVER in all three games and all three have been winners. Zack Greinke makes his first start for the Astros tonight since September 19th. That could be good or bad and I believe it's the latter and not former. Nick Pivetta toes the rubber for the Sox with a 9-8 record and 4.50 ERA. I'm sticking with what's working. Take the OVER. |
|||||||
09-15-21 | Yankees v. Orioles UNDER 10 | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 3 m | Show |
 The Yankees have been slumping and it's seen them fall from 2nd to tied for 3rd with the Blue Jays in the AL East. They are in a dog fight for one of those AL Wildcard spots with the Jays and Red Sox. The Yankees start Nestor Cortes today who is 2-2 in his 10 starts with a nifty 2.85 ERA. He's allowed more than three runs just one time in his 10 starts. John Means will toe the rubber for the O's with a 5-7 record and 3.42 ERA. Means has allowed two runs in each of his last three starts and that includes against these Yankees on Sept 3 in a 3-4 no decision. Both pitchers are very good and should keep this score in check. Play the UNDER. |
|||||||
09-09-21 | Royals v. Orioles UNDER 8.5 | Top | 6-0 | Win | 107 | 7 h 18 m | Show |
The Kansas City Royals look to snap a 2-game losing streak here tonight against the Baltimore Orioles. These teams play the fourth game of their set with the Royals taking game one and then losing the next two. Carlos Hernandez will start tonight for the Royals. Hernandez is 4-1 in his eight starts with a 3.11 ERA. He's been good in his two road starts, going 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA. John Means starts today for the O's with a 5-6 record and 3.47 ERA. Means has not allowed more than three runs in any of his last three starts. I like this game to go under the total tonight. Play UNDER. |
|||||||
08-31-21 | Braves v. Dodgers UNDER 7.5 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 21 m | Show |
The Dodgers edge ever closer to the Giants for 1st place in the NL West. LA is now 1.5 games back after beating Atlanta on Monday. The Dodgers have won seven of their last 10 games. The Atlanta Braves are still in 1st place in the AL East, 3.5 games ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Braves are the only team in the East with a positive differential number of +90. The Dodgers are a MLB best +211 run differential. Charlie Morton starts today for the Braves with a 12- record and 3.54 ERA. He's been slightly better on the road where he is 7-2 with a 2.94 ERA. The Dodgers will start Walker Buehler who is 13-2 on the season with a nifty 2.02 ERA. He's been great of late, going 3-1 with a 1.13 ERA over his last seven starts. Tough side to call here, so I'll stick with the total. Play UNDER. |
|||||||
08-28-21 | Cardinals v. Pirates UNDER 8.5 | Top | 13-0 | Loss | -106 | 19 h 7 m | Show |
The Cardinals and Pirates play game three of their set here tonight from Pittsburgh. The Pirates took game one on Thursday, 11-7 and the Cards took last night's game, 4-3. Adam Wainwright starts for the Cardinals tonight. Wainwright is 12-7 with a 3.10 ERA. He's been very good of late, posting a 5-1 record and 1.76 ERA and 0.843 WHIP over his last seven starts. The Bucs will start Steven Brault who is 0-2 in his four starts but has a nice 1.93 ERA. All four of Brault's games have gone UNDER. I like both these pitchers here tonight and I will take the UNDER. |
|||||||
08-09-21 | Yankees v. Royals OVER 10 | Top | 8-6 | Win | 100 | 4 h 19 m | Show |
The Yankees trying to get back into the AL East race, now trail 1st place Tampa Bay by 6.5 games. They have won eight of their last 10 games, but so have the Rays. The Royals are 4th in the AL Central, now 17-games back of the White Sox. Jameson Taillon will start tonight for the Yanks. Taillon is 7-4 this season with a 4.04 ERA. He's slightly worse on the road where he is 3-3 with a 5.27 ERA. Carlos Hernandez will start for the Royals. Hernandez is 2-1 in his four starts with a 3.57 ERA. He is 1-1 at home with a 4.26 ERA. These two teams are 6-0-2 O/U in their last eight meetings and 4-0-1 O/U in their last 5 meetings in KC. I'll take the OVER today. |
|||||||
07-25-21 | Tigers v. Royals OVER 10 | Top | 1-6 | Loss | -104 | 3 h 36 m | Show |
The Detroit Tigers have lost two straight, including Saturday's game to the Royals. Still, they are 7-3 their last 10 games. The Royals have now won four straight games, still 16-games back in the AL Central. The Tigers will start Tarik Skubal today with a 6-7 record and 4.25 ERA. He's been a bit worse on the road with a 5.45 ERA. Daniel Lynch will go for the Royals. Lynch is 0-2 in his three starts with a 15.73 ERA. Not sure how much longer they will go with this guy the way he's pitching. However, for me, this means a great over play today. Take OVER. |
|||||||
07-24-21 | Rays v. Indians OVER 10 | Top | 8-2 | Push | 0 | 8 h 36 m | Show |
The Tampa Bay Rays are knocking on the door of first place Boston, now trailing the Red Sox by just 1-game. The Rays have the best run differential in the division with +87 runs. The Cleveland Indians have lost two straight games and now trail the White Sox in the AL Central by 9-games. The Tribe, soon to be Guardians, have a -26 run differential. The Rays will start Drew Rasmussen. Rasmussen makes his second start of the season and had a 9.00 ERA in his first start, just two innings against Washington allowing two runs. Cleveland will counter with Jean Carlos Mejia. Mejia looking for his first win, sitting 0-5 on the season with a 8.80 ERA. Two bad pitchers here with good hitting teams. Take the OVER. |
|||||||
07-13-21 | American League v. National League OVER 10.5 | Top | 5-2 | Loss | -120 | 21 h 13 m | Show |
All Star game here on Tuesday from Colorado after last year's game was cancelled due to the abbreviated Covid-19 season. There will be missing players from this game. Most notably are Dodgers' Mookie Betts, as he's citing injuries that he's battled as the reason. Also missing, all the Astros players, including Altuve, Correa, Brantley and Pressly. Most of the Astros will opt out likely because of recent cheating allegations against Houston. That will make the Astros the only team in MLB with no players attending the Mid-season classic. Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom will also opt out of the All-Star game. Still, there will be plenty of players and action. Last year's game was a 4-3 AL win. The AL has dominated this series, especially of late as they have won seven straight. They have also been lower scoring games with only the 2018 game getting more than nine runs (8-6 AL win). Despite the lower scoring games in recent years I'm going with the OVER here today. This also has one of the highest totals in recent memory, a 10 1/2 or 11 on this game. Expect to see a higher scoring game on Tuesday. Play the OVER. |
|||||||
06-06-21 | Twins v. Royals OVER 9.5 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -105 | 4 h 23 m | Show |
Minnesota took last night's contest from the Royals, 5-4. They still trail 1-2 and can even the series with a win here today. Game one they scored 11, game two 19 and yesterday nine runs. The Royals are still 5-games back in the AL Central while the Twins are still in last, 12-games back. Bailey Ober makes just his second start of the season for the Twins. His first was rocky, going just four innings vs the White Sox and allowing five hits and four runs. Brady Singer will toe the rubber for the Royals. Singer is 3-4 in 11 starts with a 5.06 ERA. He's allowed 10 earned runs over his last 8 1/3 innings of work. I like this one to go OVER today. |
|||||||
05-24-21 | Rays v. Blue Jays OVER 10.5 | Top | 14-8 | Win | 100 | 11 h 30 m | Show |
AL East action early here on Monday has the Tampa Bay Rays taking on the Toronto Blue Jays. The Rays are red-hot, having won 10-straight games and have pulled into a tie in the East with the Red Sox for the top spot. The Blue Jays have lost five straight and dropped to fourth in the East, 4.5-games back of the Rays and Red Sox. The Rays have been a very good over team with a 27-20 O/U mark on the season. This game should be another high scoring affair. The Rays start Ryan Yarbrough who is 0-3 in five starts with a 6.28 ERA. He's even worse on the road with a 8.25 ERA. Yarbrough has just one of his five starts that he has seen fewer than five runs allowed and that was in his first start of the season. New isn't any better on the Jays side with 0-3 Ross Stripling toeing the rubber today. Stripling has a 7.20 ERA on the season and a 8.31 ERA at home. This one should see plenty of runs. Play the OVER. |
|||||||
05-01-21 | Cubs v. Reds OVER 9 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -104 | 5 h 22 m | Show |
The Cubs lost their opening game of this series to the Reds on Friday, 6-8. It was the team's third over in a row. The Cubs now allow 4.9 runs per game. Won't get any easier for them today as they start a struggling Zach Davies. Davies is 1-2 in his five starts with a 9.47 ERA and 2.209 WHIP. He's coming off a start where he allowed six hits and five runs over 3 2/3 innings to the Braves. The Cincinnati Reds have plenty of hitting, as they lead the majors in home runs and average 5.4 runs per game. They are the best over team in baseball with a 18-6-1 O/U record. They also will send a struggling pitcher to the hill today in the form of Luis Castillo. Castillo is 1-2 in his five starts with a 6.29 ERA and 1.6-3 WHIP. Neither pitcher is all that good and Cincinnati has plenty of offense. Take OVER. |
|||||||
08-05-20 | Blue Jays v. Braves OVER 9 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 31 m | Show |
Toronto off to a 3-5 start and has lost three straight games. The Jays had a layoff of four games against the Phillies due to concerns over the Covid virus at Philadelphia. The Jays returned last night and were promptly beaten badly by the Braves 1-10. Hyun-Jim Ryu came over from the Dodgers in the offseason. Ryu has two starts and is 0-1 with a 8.00 ERA and 1.889 WHIP. He'll face the first place Atlanta Braves who are 8-4 and have 69 runs scored this year (tops in baseball). Sean Newcomb will start for the Braves. Newcomb has two starts with a 8.22 ERA. Neither pitcher all that good here and the Braves crushing the ball. They both should get runs here today. Play the OVER |
|||||||
08-04-20 | Indians v. Reds UNDER 8 | Top | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 46 m | Show |
Battle for Ohio continues here on Tuesday as the Reds host the Indians. The Reds are 5-5 to start the season while the Indians are 5-6. Cleveland ran it's losing streak to four games with the loss on Monday to the Reds, 2-3. The scoring drought continues with just two runs in that game. Indians have lost four straight games in which they scored a total of four runs. In fact, their last six games have easily gone under the total. The Reds will start Tyler Mahle today. Mahle went four innings in his first start, giving up six hits and two runs to the Cubs. Right now pitching is feasting on this anemic Indians hitting. I had the under yesterday and that's what I'm doing here today too. Play the UNDER. |
|||||||
08-03-20 | Indians v. Reds UNDER 8.5 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 6 m | Show |
 Battle for Ohio here on Monday has the Reds hosting the Indians. The Reds are 4-5 to start the season while the Indians are 5-5. Cleveland has lost three straight games in which they scored a total of two runs against the Twins. In fact, their last five games have easily gone under the total. The Reds will turn to Sonny Gray. Gray has been excellent thus far, going 2-0 with a 0.71 ERA and allowing just one earned run, four hits, three walks and 20 KO's. The Reds will be without power hitter Joey Votto who has been put on the IR with Covid-19. The Indians will counter with Zach Plesac. Plesac has one start and he went a solid eight innings, allowed three total hits and no runs but still got no decision. Both these pitchers look spot on and with the recent under play by the Indians, I'm sticking with that here on Monday. Play UNDER. |
|||||||
07-31-20 | Dodgers v. Diamondbacks UNDER 9.5 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 43 m | Show |
Dodgers off to a nice 5-2 start to the season. Their pitching staff has been all the hype that has been laid upon it thus far. But the hitting has really come alive with the addition of Mookie Betts to the leadoff spot. The Dodgers have 37 runs over seven games and have allowed just 17 runs. The D'Backs are just 2-5 and have scored just 20 runs over their seven games while allowing 35. The Dodgers should have little trouble keeping the weak hitting D'backs down in this one. Take the UNDER. |
|||||||
07-28-20 | Padres v. Giants OVER 8.5 | Top | 5-3 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 58 m | Show |
The Padres took three of four games in their first series with the Diamondbacks. In that series they showed that the bats are much improved this year, scoring 21 runs over the four game series. San Francisco actually split their four game series with the Dodgers, this despite allowing 22 runs and scoring just 10 runs. I like this matchup to go OVER the total here on Tuesday evening. Take the OVER. |
|||||||
07-26-20 | Mariners v. Astros OVER 9 | Top | 7-6 | Win | 100 | 3 h 9 m | Show |
First full weekend of baseball is Sunday and Jim Feist has been off to a good start so far with a 3-1-1 record the last two days. Sunday, Jim is going to play this game over between the M's and Astros. So far the overs seem to be getting the money a bit more than the unders. Zack Greinke getting older and these first starts of the season he won't be in any form. I'm taking the OVER here on Sunday. |
|||||||
07-24-20 | Twins v. White Sox OVER 9 | Top | 10-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 31 m | Show |
First full day back of baseball and it should be interesting. I'm taking over here today in the Twins/White Sox matchup. I don't expect starters to go very deep at all in their initial starts. The Twins have a decent bullpen coming off a strong 2019 campaign. Can't say same for White Sox pen. Let's see how these pens hold up today. I don't expect much from them so I'm taking OVER the total. |
|||||||
09-10-19 | Cardinals v. Rockies OVER 13.5 | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -101 | 9 h 48 m | Show |
St Louis and Colorado begin a three-game series tonight at Coors Field. The Cardinals are in 1st place in the NL Central, now 4-games ahead of the Cubs and 6-games in front of Milwaukee. Micheal Wacha will toe the rubber tonight for the redbirds. Wacha is only 5-6 on the season with a 4.89 ERA. Wacha has had a bit of inconsistency this season. The Rockies had high expectations this season, but at 60-84 they are looking toward next year. Chi Chi Gonzalez will get the start today, his 10th of the year. Gonzalez is 0-5 and the Rockies are 0-9 in his starts. Gonzalez has a 6.86 ERA and 1.643 WHIP. He's shown flashes of pitching well, but for the most part he won't be around long tonight. I expect St Louis to hit Gonzalez easily and Colorado always gets their runs at home. This one has OVER written all over it. Take the OVER tonight. |
|||||||
08-20-19 | Padres v. Reds UNDER 8.5 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 55 m | Show |
One of the best under teams in baseball in this matchup in the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds are 48-70-6 O/U/P on the season. Add to that fact that the Reds have a very good starter on the hill today in the person of Sonny Gray. Gray is only 8-6 on the season, but has a nifty 2.92 ERA. Gray has been red-hot of late, allowing NO runs over his last three starts and just seven total hits (18 innings). He also has 24 KO's, but has allowed 11 free passes. The Padres will counter with Cal Quantrill today. Quantrill is 4-3 and has a decent 3.66 ERA. Quantrill has allowed just five earned runs over his last five starts (28 2/3 innings). So we have two very hot pitchers matching up here and one of the best under teams in baseball in the Reds. I'm taking UNDER in this one. |
|||||||
08-19-19 | Brewers v. Cardinals UNDER 9.5 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 101 | 8 h 11 m | Show |
Two of the teams battling it out for the NL Central division play tonight as the Cardinals host the Brewers. The Brewers are third right now in the Central with a 64-60 record while the Cardinals sit 2-games ahead of them at 65-57. The Cubs lead the division with a 66-58 record. The Cardinals will start their top winning pitcher tonight in the person of Dakota Hudson. Hudson is 11-6 with a 3.84 ERA. Hudson has allowed just two runs over his last 10 innings (2-starts). The Brewers will counter with Zach Davies who is 8-5 on the season with a 3.74 ERA. Davies hasn't been as good lately, allowing 17 runs over his last three starts (13 innings). Still, Davies has been good overall on the season. I like this game to go UNDER here tonight. Play UNDER. |
|||||||
08-09-19 | Yankees v. Blue Jays OVER 10.5 | Top | 2-8 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 46 m | Show |
What's the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?" Well, I had these two over yesterday and that was a super easy winner for my clients. Tonight, I'm doing it again. Another over with the big hitting Yankees. The Yankees have won 9-straight games scoring 9 runs or more in five of those and seven runs or more in seven of the nine. J.A. Happ starts today with a 9-6 record and 5.24 ERA. The Jays will counter with Sean Reid-Foley who hasn't performed poorly in his four starts with a 1-2 record and 3.31 ERA. However, Reid-Foley has only face the Royals and Orioles twice each. He hasn't faced a hitting lineup like these Yankees. I look for another Yankees explosion here today. Play the OVER once again. |
|||||||
08-01-19 | Reds v. Braves UNDER 9.5 | Top | 1-4 | Push | 0 | 8 h 7 m | Show |
The Reds and Braves begin their four game set tonight from Atlanta. The Reds took two of three in their series with Pittsburgh, including last night's win, 4-1. The Reds will turn to Anthony Desclafani tonight. Desclafani is 6-5 on the season with a 4.01 ERA. Desclafani has been very good of late, allowing three runs or fewer in each of his last five starts and nine of his last 10 starts. The Braves took two of three in their recent series at Washington. Max Fried will toe the rubber tonight for the Braves. Fried is 11-4 on the season with a 4.28 ERA. Both these pitchers having decent success this season. I like this game to go UNDER tonight. Play UNDER. |
|||||||
07-30-19 | Diamondbacks v. Yankees OVER 11 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -114 | 8 h 45 m | Show |
The Yankees salvaged the final game of their four-game series with the Red Sox, taking the fourth game on Sunday, 9-6. The Yankees pitching staff got hit pretty hard, allowing 44 runs over the four-game series. In fact, the Yankees have allowed at least six runs in each of their last eight games. So it's not a far stretch to realize they have gone over in nine straight games. J.A. Happ starts today with a 8-5 record and 5.23 ERA. Happ went only 3 1/3 innings in his last start, allowing six earned runs to the Twins. The Diamondbacks got rocked by the Marlins on Monday, losing 6-11. The Marlins took three of four from the visiting D'Backs. Taylor Clarke starts today for the D'backs. Clarke is 3-3 with a 6.66 ERA ont he season. The D'backs are 7-2-2 Over/Under/Push in his 11 starts this season. The Yankees are one of the best hitting teams and baseball and that doesn't look good here tonight for the visiting D'backs. This one should fly over the total. Play OVER. |
|||||||
07-25-19 | Yankees v. Red Sox OVER 11 | Top | 3-19 | Win | 100 | 16 h 13 m | Show |
The Yankees took game one of their historic rivalry matchup with the Red Sox on Wednesday, 10-7. The win extended the Yankees win streak to two games while the Red Sox snapped their win streak at 2-games. The Yankees will start Masahiro Tanaka today. Tanaka is 7-5 in his 20 starts with a 4.00 ERA. The Red Sox now trail the Yankees by 12-games in the AL East, but at 56-47 they still are in the run for one of the two Wild Card spots. Rick Porcello will get the start today. Porcello is 8-7 on the season with a lofty 5.61 ERA and 1.464 WHIP. Porcello has been hit hard in his last five starts, allowing 27 runs over 23 innings. The Yankees are one of the best hitting teams in baseball and that doesn't bode well here today for the Red Sox. And with Tanaka not being very consistent, I'm looking to play the OVER here on Thursday. |
|||||||
07-21-19 | A's v. Twins UNDER 10.5 | Top | 6-7 | Loss | -105 | 4 h 34 m | Show |
The A's conclude their series with the Twins today in Minnesota. Oakland leads 2-1 after winning on Friday and Saturday. All three games have gone UNDER thus far. The A's are just 5.5 games back of Houston in the AL West now. Daniel Mengden starts today for the A's. Mengden is 5-1 with a 3.35 ERA in his seven starts. The A's lost his first start back on May 12th, but since then they are 6-0 in his starts. Mengden is coming off an excellent start, allowing four hits and one run to the Mariners in a 9-2 win. The Twins lead over the Indians has dropped to 3-games as they look to snap this two-game skid to the A's. Michael Pineda is 6-5 and will start today. Pineda has 4.38 ERA, but has been great of late. Pineda has allowed one earned run in each of his last three starts and five of his last six starts. Both pitchers are hot and as this series gone, I go. Play the UNDER. |
|||||||
07-17-19 | Pirates v. Cardinals UNDER 9 | Top | 5-6 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 46 m | Show |
 The Pirates broke their four-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 3-1 win at St Louis. The loss also snapped a 3-game winning streak for the Cardinals. Today's matchup I'll be looking at the UNDER. These clubs went under for the 2nd time in this series with the four runs on Tuesday and the seven runs on Monday. Chris Archer will start today for the Pirates. Archer is only 3-6 on the season with a 5.42 ERA. However, he's pitched much better of late, allowing just nine total runs over his last four starts (20 innings). During that span the Bucs are 3-1 while Archer has no decisions in each. The Cardinals have been an under team this year with a 38-47-7 O/U/P mark. St Louis has now gone under in six straight games. Daniel Poncedeleon starts today for just his fifth time. While he has no record, he does have a nifty 1.25 ERA and has allowed just three total runs over his 21 2/3 innings. In addition, he has eight walks to go with his 23 KO's. I will look once again for the UNDER here early on Wednesday. Play UNDER. |
|||||||
07-14-19 | Twins v. Indians UNDER 8.5 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 3 h 45 m | Show |
The Indians showing they might not be good enough to catch the Twins in the AL Central. They Indians have lost the first two games in this critical series, scoring just two runs yesterday and three runs on Friday. Shane Bieber will start today for the Tribe, with a 8-3 record and 3.43 ERA this season. Bieber has been excellent of late, allowing two runs or fewer in six of his last seven starts. The Twins turn to Jose Berrios today. Berrios is 8-5 in his 18 starts. But what impresses me even more is that he's had 14 quality starts in his 18 outings. Berrios has a nifty 3.00 ERA and hasn't allowed more than 3-runs in his last eight starts. I love this one to go UNDER here on Sunday. Play UNDER. |
|||||||
06-27-19 | Diamondbacks v. Giants OVER 8.5 | Top | 5-1 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
I'm looking at the OVER in this matchup tonight. Both these clubs have been over teams this year with the D'backs at 41-37-4 O/U/P and the Giants at 40-35-4 O/U/P. The D'backs do it with an offense that averages 5.2 runs per game while allowing 4.6 runs. The Giants only average 3.9 runs, but allow a whopping 5.1 runs per game. The D'backs will start Lefty Alex Young tonight. Young was brought up from Triple-A Reno. Young has a 6.09 ERA in his 20 appearances at Reno this year. The Giants will start Tyler Beede who has a 1-1 record but a lofty 7.08 REA and 1.786 WHIP. Two horrible pitchers here tonight along with two suspect bullpens. I really like this one go to OVER tonight. Play the OVER. |
|||||||
06-16-19 | Rangers v. Reds UNDER 9 | Top | 3-11 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 16 m | Show |
The Rangers ran their win streak to 2-games with a 4-3 win over the Reds on Saturday. The Reds have been a very good under team this year, now a 23-43-2 O/U on the season. The Reds have seen their last 11 games go under the total. Sonny Gray will start today for the Reds with a 2-5 record but a fairly good 3.51 ERA. Gray has seen his last two games go under the total as he's allowed three and two runs in those two games. The Rangers will counter with Ariel Juarado, who is 3-1 on the season with a 3.77 ERA and 1.361 WHIP. Juarado has only five starts, but has not allowed more than three runs in any of hist last four. I'm sticking with the UNDER here early on Sunday. The Reds have been a great under team and I see that continuing here today. PLAY the UNDER. |
|||||||
05-18-19 | Cubs v. Nationals UNDER 8.5 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 17 h 14 m | Show |
The Cubs took game one of this 3-game series with the Washington Nationals on Friday, 14-6. The Cubs improved to 26-16 on the season while the Nationals dropped to 18-26. The Cubs have been a very good under team up until yesterday's contest. Before the over on Friday, the Cubs have gone UNDER in seven of their last eight games. Now seven of the last nine. The Cubs starting pitching staff has been excellent and it's led by veteran Jon Lester. Lester starts his eighth game today with a 3-1 record, 1.16 ERA and 1.112 WHIP. Lester has not allowed more than two runs in any of his seven starts this season. The Nationals will start Stephen Strasburg. Strasburg is 3-3 in his nine starts this year with a 3.63 ERA and 1.052 WHIP. Strasburg has allowed two runs or fewer in four of his last five starts. Both these pitchers are very good veterans, but Lester has been lights out of late. I look for a low scoring game here today in Washington. I'm taking the UNDER. |
|||||||
05-16-19 | Cubs v. Reds UNDER 9 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 18 h 26 m | Show |
The Chicago Cubs saw its 3-game losing streak snapped yesterday in a 10-inning loss to the Reds, 5-6. The Cubs have been a good under team of late, with their last six games going UNDER the total. This is not only due to good pitching, but the offense has not been firing on all cylinders. Jose Quintana will start today for the Cubs. Quintana has a 4-2 record in his seven starts with a 3.83 ERA and 1.181 WHIP. Quintana gave up eight runs back in his first start of April 5th. Since that start, Quintana has allowed three runs or less in each of his starts. Despite their win on Wednesday, the Reds are just 19-24 on the season. Moreover, the Reds have been a very good UNDER team this year, posting a 15-27-1 O/U/P on the season. Luis Castillo toes the rubber for the Reds. Castillo has been the Reds Ace thus far this season. Castillo has a 4-1 record in his nine starts with a nifty 1.76 ERA and 0.994 WHIP. Castillo is coming off a six-inning performance at San Francisco where he allowed no runs and just two hits for the WIN. Both these pitchers have been good and with Castillo on top of his game this year, I'm taking the UNDER. Play UNDER. |
|||||||
05-09-19 | Mariners v. Yankees OVER 9 | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -106 | 16 h 12 m | Show |
The Seattle Mariners took Wednesday game with the Yankees, 10-1 and with that win improved to 20-19 on the season. The Yankees dropped to 21-15. The M's have been one of the best over teams in baseball this season, with a 26-9-3 O/U/P record. That includes the over in last night's contest. Mike Leake will start today's contest for the M's. Leake is 2-3 in his seven starts with a 4.91 ERA and 1.513 WHIP. Leake has allowed 12 runs over his last 17 innings of work. The Yankees will start J.A. Happ who is 1-3 this season in his seven starts. Happ has a 4.93 ERA with a 1.278 WHIP. Happ is coming off a 5 2/3 outing vs the Twins where he gave up seven his and four runs. I'm on the OVER in this game today as the M's continue to give me win and after win this season. Play the OVER. |
|||||||
05-02-19 | Blue Jays v. Angels UNDER 8.5 | Top | 2-6 | Win | 105 | 21 h 57 m | Show |
Toronto and the LA Angels have both been good under teams this year. Last night's total was off the board with a late pitching change. Still, the Blue Jays are 11-17-1 O/U this season and the Angels are 12-17-1 O/U. The Jays will start Aaron Sanchez tonight. Sanchez is 3-1 with a 2.32 ERA and 1.323 WHIP. Sanchez has allowed just one earned run over his last two starts (9 innings) with just four total hits. The Angels will start Tyler Skaggs tonight. Skaggs is 2-2 on the season with a 3.15 ERA and 1.250 WHIP. Skaggs is coming off a 5-inning performance at Kansas City, allowing three hits and no runs. The clubs are 2-5-1 O/U in their last eight meetings and they are 3-7-2 O/U in their last 12 meetings in LA. I like the under here tonight. |
|||||||
04-29-19 | Rockies v. Brewers UNDER 9 | Top | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 19 m | Show |
Colorado and Milwaukee both bring one-game losing streaks into today's contest. Both clubs have under teams this year, as Colorado is 12-14-2 O/U and the Brewers are 12-16-1 O/U on the season. The Rockies will start Kyle Freeland today. Freeland is 2-3 in his five starts with a 4.23 ERA and 1.193 WHIP. Freeland is coming off his best start of the season, going six innings and allowing just two hits and no runs in a 6-2 win over the Phillies. Zach Davies will toe the rubber for the Brewers tonight. Davies is having an excellent season with a 2-0 record in his five starts. Davies has a 1.65 ERA and 1.353 WHIP. Davies has yet to allow more than two runs in any of his five starts and has just five total walks and 19 KO's. The Rockies are now 1-4-1 O/U in Freeland's 6 road starts. They are also 18-45-4 O/U in Freelands last 67 starts. The Brewers are 7-24-1 O/U in Davies last 32 starts and 2-8 O/U in his last 10 at home. I like today's game to go UNDER. |
|||||||
04-27-19 | Rangers v. Mariners OVER 8.5 | Top | 15-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 29 m | Show |
 The Rangers bring a five-game losing streak into today's game at Seattle. The Rangers have had issues with their pitching staff as they now allow 6.0 runs per game on the season. In the first two games of this series with the Mariners, they have allowed the M's 19 runs. Which leads me to my play on the OVER today. The Mariners average 6.3 runs per game and have a 19-7-3 O/U mark on the year. Mike Leake starts for the M's today with a 2-2 record and 4.30 ERA. Mike Minor will try and hold back the Seattle juggernaut with his 2-2 record and 3.21 ERA. I am sticking with the Mariners over tonight, something they have done very well on the season. Play the OVER |
|||||||
04-26-19 | Rangers v. Mariners OVER 8.5 | Top | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 20 h 17 m | Show |
Both these clubs brought a 3-game losing streak into today's game. The Rangers were 12-11 and the Mariners were 16-11. Both clubs are high scoring, with the Rangers averaging 5.5 rpg and the Mariners 6.0 rpg. The problem with both teams have been pitching, as both allow at least five runs per game. This was evident in game one of their series on Thursday, as the M's beat the Rangers, 14-2 to improve to 17-11 on the season. Yusei Kikuchi starts today for the M's with a 1-1 record in his six starts. Kikuchi has a 4.68 ERA and 1.316 WHIP. Shelby Miller toes the rubber for the Rangers with a 1-1 record in his four starts with a 7.63 ERA and 2.153 WHIp. Both pitchers have been poor this year and considering how these teams score runs, I look for another high scoring game here on Friday. Play the OVER. |
|||||||
04-15-19 | Royals v. White Sox OVER 9.5 | Top | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 51 m | Show |
wo teams that have had their share of pitching problems meet as the White Sox host the Royals. The Royals are just 5-10 on the season and that's in big part to their 5.5 runs allowed per game. The Royals are 11-3-1 O/U on the season because of that and the fact that they are averaging 4.9 runs per game. Heath Fillmyer starts today for the Royals. Fillmyer has one start and he got hit hard, allowing six hits and five runs over just three innings. The White Sox are 5-9 and they are allowing 6.4 runs per game this season. They are also 10-4 O/U on the year. Ervin Santana toes the rubber for the Sox. Santana has just one start and he got hit very hard, allowing seven hit and seven runs over just 3 2/3 innings against the Rays. Two bad pitching teams, two bad starters, this one looks like an OVER to me. Play the OVER. |
|||||||
04-12-19 | White Sox v. Yankees OVER 9.5 | Top | 7-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 5 m | Show |
The White Sox and Yankees are both off to losing seasons thus far. The Sox are 3-8 in their first 11 games and have lost five straight. Their pitching has been horrendous, allowing 7.0 runs per game thus far. Lucas Giolito will try and turn his fortunes around today. Giolito has two starts this season and is 1-1. Giolito has a 5.73 ERA and 1.273 WHIP. He's allowed nine hits over 11 innings with seven earned runs. The Yankees are 5-7 and have lost three straight. They are averaging 5.1 runs per game and allowing 4.1 runs per game. J.A. Happ gets the start today. Happ has two starts and is 0-1 on the season with a 6.48 ERA and 1.561 WHIP. Happ has been hit hard, allowing 10 hits over 8 1/3 innings with three home runs allowed. Two teams that have given up their share of runs. I like the OVER today. |
|||||||
04-11-19 | Mariners v. Royals OVER 10 | Top | 7-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 49 m | Show |
Seattle off to one of the best starts in baseball at 12-2 and winners of five straight games. The Mariners are averaging just under eight runs per game this season while allowing 4.9 runs per game. Mike Leake starts today and is 2-0 in his two starts with a 2.92 ERA and 1.460 WHIP. Leake has allowed 16 hits over his 12 1/3 innings though. The Royals off to a horrible start at 2-9 on the season. They have lost nine straight games after starting 2-0. Jorge Lopez is 0-1 in his two starts with a 4.09 ERA. Seattle is 11-1-2 O/U in their 14 games and KC is 8-2-1 O/U in their 11 games. This game has all the markings of an easy over play. Play OVER. |
|||||||
04-04-19 | Blue Jays v. Indians UNDER 7 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 50 m | Show |
Toronto and Cleveland both off to slow starts this season with the Blue Jays at 3-4 and the Indians at 2-3. Today, I'm looking at the UNDER in this contest. The Jays have gone under in six of seven games this season and the Indians are 3-2 O/U on the year. Aaron Sanchez gets the start for the Jays. Sanchez went a solid five innings in his start vs the Tigers, allowing just three hits and no earned runs to get the win. Trevor Bauer will toe the rubber for the Tribe. Bauer also got the win in his first game, going seven innings vs the Twins, allowing just one hit and one run. In addition. Bauer struck out nine while walking just one. Both these pitchers were very solid in their openers and I fully expect repeat performances here on Thursday. Play the UNDER. |
|||||||
09-25-18 | Rangers v. Angels OVER 9 | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 44 m | Show |
The Rangers lost the opening game of this three-game set with the Angels, 4-5. The Rangers are 3-1 Over/Under their last four games. Yovani Gallardo starts today for the Rangers with a 8-6 record and 5.90 ERA. Gallardo has allowed 14 runs over his last three starts (12 1/3 innings) with nine walks. The Angels are now 6-0-1 O/U their last seven games after last night's 5-4 win and over. The main problem has been pitching. The Angels have allowed 69 runs over their last seven games, that's almost 10 runs per game average. Matt Shoemaker was one of those shelled his last time out, allowing five runs over just 2 2/3 innings. That is 11 runs over his last 12 1/3 innings of work. I don't see it getting much better tonight with two poor starters on the hill. The runs should be flying tonight. Play the OVER. |
|||||||
08-12-18 | A's v. Angels UNDER 9 | Top | 8-7 | Loss | -109 | 4 h 8 m | Show |
 The Oakland A's continue to put the coals to the feed of the Houston Astros in the AL West. The A's have now cut the Astros lead to just 3.5 games, winning eight of their last 10 games. Meanwhile, the Angels are out of the playoff race as they trail the Astros by 14 games. The Angels look to play a bullpen game today, starting Taylor Cole. Cole has a 1.59 ERA out of the pen, but likely will only go a couple of innings. The Angels pen is decent, with a 3.63 ERA and 1.337 WHIP. The A's will start Trevor Cahill. Cahill is 4-2 in his 13 starts with a 3.12 ERA and 1.067 WHIP. Cahill has allowed just two runs over his last 12 innings with three walks and 16 KO's. The A's run to the playoffs continues today as I look for them to beat the Angels. |
|||||||
06-04-18 | Yankees v. Tigers OVER 9.5 | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 10 m | Show |
The Tigers are getting hammered in Game #1 of a day/night twin bill. I look for a Tiger rebound in game two vs German is coming off a poor start against the Astros where he gave up three earned runs on 5 hits. German has given up 5 home runs in his last 3 games and 15 runs in his last 14 innings. The Tigers have been hitting really well lately and i see no reason they should not be able to put up 4 or more tonight. Play Over in Game #2 |
|||||||
05-14-18 | Astros v. Angels UNDER 8 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 50 m | Show |
The Astro visit Anaheim today and they will send Lance McCullers to the mound. Lance has been especially tough on the Angels and i don't see that changing today. Even with McCullers shutting down the Angel bats i not playing a side in this game but i am on the UNDER. Looking further into the game shows that Heaney has pitched well against the Astros in the past ans is pitching well now. Play the Under today |

07-16-17 | New York Yankees - Game #2 v. Boston Red Sox - Game #2 OVER 8.5 | Top | 0-3 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 52 m | Show |
New York is on the road playing the second game of a doubleheader tonight after playing 16 innings last night. Yankees right Masahiro Tanaka (7-8, 5.47 ERA) has been erratic all year. The Yankees have gone OVER in nine of the last 12 road starts for Tanaka. New York has a losing road record and the Yankees are 4-11 in their last 15 road games. Boston is on an 11-4 run at home. Red Sox lefty David Price (4-2, 3.91 ERA) has been very consistent since coming off the disabled list in May. Boston has been a good over play in game two of any doubleheader, evidenced by their 8-2 O/U mark in the last 10 nightcaps of a double dipper. Two tired bullpens and a shaky starter on the hill for the Yankees has this game primed to go OVER in Prime Time TV. |

07-14-17 | Cardinals v. Pirates UNDER 8 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 22 h 17 m | Show |
7/14 07:05 PM EST  MLB  (951) ST. LOUIS CARDINALS VS (952) PITTSBURGH PIRATES. Take: NL Central Total of the Month: Play St. Louis/Pittsburgh UNDER the total.   Reason: A pair of weak offenses with strong pitchers to start the second half. St. Louis is #19 in baseball in runs scored, 9-4 under the total when Mike Leake (3.12 ERA) faces the National League Central division. Pittsburgh is #24 in runs scored, on a 19-6-2 run under the total. Gerrit Cole has allowed 2 runs or less in four of his last five starts and the team is 12-4 under when he starts. And the Under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. Play St. Louis/Pittsburgh UNDER the total.  Submit |

09-05-16 | Royals v. Twins OVER 9.5 | Top | 11-5 | Win | 100 | 5 h 44 m | Show |
The Royals have only won five of their last 10 games, and that means more teams between them and the final Wild Card slot. KC now trails in the AL Wild Card by four games with five teams ahead of them in the standings. After a great run in August, the Royals have now lost four of their last five games. Ian Kennedy will start today with a 9-9 record and 3.66 ERA. Kennedy is coming off his worst start since July 20th, allowing four runs over 6.1 innings. The Twins are the worst team in the AL, and they have shown that with a 2-15 run. The Twins gave up 30 runs in their recent four game series with the White Sox. Jose Berrios starts today with a 2-4 record, sky high 9.24 ERA and 1.97 WHIP. Berrios has allowed 18 runs over his last 16 innings. In addition, the 22-year old has walked nine batters in his last nine innings. This one could get ugly in a hurry. I'm taking the over and enjoying the show. |

07-04-13 | Detroit Tigers v. Toronto Blue Jays OVER 8.5 | Top | 11-1 | Win | 100 | 17 h 5 m | Show |
These teams know how to crush the baseball with great offenses and coming into this series the previous 4 meetings had gone over the total. Detroit has a powerhouse attack, 4th in baseball in runs scored, second in on base percentage and fourth in slugging. The over is 5-2 in the Tigers last 7 against the American League East. Toronto starter Esmil Rogers (3-3) has some good overall numbers, but he's also been a bit lucky. Rogers' BABIP is .274, a huge difference considering his .342 career rate. His 3.46 ERA may be solid, but Rogers has a 4.40 FIP, which is a better indicator of how he'll pitch going forward. The over is 16-7 in the Blue Jays last 23 home games and 11-5 over the total in their last 16 home games vs. a team with a winning record, so look for an offensive show. Play the Tigers/Blue Jays over the total.

07-18-12 | Texas Rangers v. Oakland A's UNDER 8 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 104 | 15 h 18 m | Show |
A few components come together here for me to like this total UNDER tonight. First off is Oakland Coliseum, which has always been a good pitchers park. This season is no different as the park ranks 23rd in baseball for hitters. The cold, damp air of the bay area helps these pitchers which is why San Francisco's AT&T park is the best pitcher ballpark in baseball. Next is Texas, which isn't quite the offensive powerhouse away from Arlington. The Ranters have a 20-23 O/U mark on the road this season, partly because their hitting isn't as good on the road, but also because they have good pitching. It's not surprising that Oakland is 17-25 O/U at home, averaging just 3.7 runs/game and allowing 3.3 runs/game. Both clubs also have good bullpens, Texas with a 2.61 ERA on the road and Oakland with a 2.58 ERA at home. Finally, we have two quality starting pitchers. Colby Lewis has a 3.51 ERA and 1.080 WHIP for Texas. Travis Blackley has a nice 3.19 ERA for Oakland with a 1.063 WHIP. Starting pitchers, bullpens, ballpark - they all combine to show me that this is a game that will go UNDER the total on Wednesday.

06-28-12 | LA Anaheim: D Haren v. Toronto: B Cecil OVER 9 | Top | 9-7 | Win | 100 | 26 h 19 m | Show |
06/28 07:05 PM EST MLB (913) LOS ANGELES ANGELS VS (914) TORONTO BLUE JAYS
Take: Total of the Year: Angels/Blue Jays Over the total. The Angels offense has been on a tear and they head to Toronto, a terrific offensive park. Starter Dan Haren has been very hittable with an ERA of 4.24. Haren gave up five runs off nine hits and three walks with five strikeouts over five innings against the Dodgers on Friday. After getting hit hard over his last two starts, the Angels pushed Haren back a few days hoping the extra rest would do him some good. It did not. He was hit hard right from the start, and while he was able to shut the Dodgers down for his last few frames, he had already thrown 102 pitches and was removed from the game. Haren's ERA has climbed to 4.24 after allowing 14 runs over his last 16.2 innings (3 starts). He faces a Toronto offense that is fourth in baseball in runs scored. The Toronto pitching staff has been rocked by injuries and ineffectiveness of late. Play the Angels/Blue Jays Over the total. |
|||||||
06-25-12 | Cleveland Indians v. New York Yankees OVER 9.5 | Top | 1-7 | Loss | -115 | 17 h 49 m | Show |
20* Hi Roller Powerhouse Total : The Yankees finished their subway series with the Mets on Sunday and now return the short distance across town to home and hosting the Cleveland Indians. The Yankees still have hold of first place in the AL East, though it's tight, with six games separating first place from last place. In fact, the NL East is the only division in baseball where all the teams have a .500 or better record. Conversely, the Indians just lost first place in the AL Central to the Chicago White Sox. The AL Central is the weakest division with only two of the five teams above .500. The Indians will look to Josh Tomlin to get them back on the winning track today. Tomlin is 3-4 this season with a 5.12 ERA, but has shown some improvement of late with a 4.58 ERA. Tomlin has been very erratic of late, pitching well one game and then getting hammered the next. Hiroki Kuroda will start for the Yankees. Kuroda is 6-7 this season with a 3.57 ERA and 1.29 WHIP. Kuroda is coming off one of his worst starts in recent times with four earned runs allowed over seven innings for a loss against Atlanta. Kuroda has been a fairly consistent pitcher for the Yankees, though he has a losing record. This is a great spot for an over. The Yankees are a big hitting team, this is a hitters park and the Indians pitcher should get lit up pretty well here tonight. I expect Kuroda will likely go deep into the game, but if he gives up 2 or 3 runs then this one goes OVER.

08-02-11 | Baltimore Orioles v. Kansas City Royals OVER 9 | Top | 8-2 | Win | 100 | 18 h 31 m | Show |
20* Diamond Dominator Total (Bal/Kan OVER) : Get two bad teams together and usually you get a scoring fest. These teams aren't bad because they have good pitching staffs. In fact, these teams rank No. 1 and No. 2 in runs allowed with the O's being first (5.33 rpg) and KC second (4.85 rpg). Considering their rpp, it isn't a far leap to the same rankings in worst ERA with Baltimore at 4.89 and KC at 4.48. WHIP follow the same patter with Baltimore at 1.477 and KC at 1.429. Such bad staffs will result in runs especially with KC ranking sixth in the AL in runs scored per game (4.42). Alfredo Simon starts for the O's with a 2-4 mark and 4.23 ERA. The problem with Simon is that he is trying to make the transition from bullpen to starter and he has gone more than five innings just twice in eight starts and has pretty much been on a pitch count. For Simon to make the move to a starter he's going to have to take some of the heat off a now depleted bullpen. Bruce Chen starts for the Royals and will be trying to bounce back after a dismal start against Boston where he allowed 10 earned runs in just four innings. I don't have a lot of confidence in either starter and I fully expect the pens to be used frequently and early in this game. I'm taking the OVER and enjoying the show.

07-20-11 | Boston Red Sox v. Baltimore Orioles OVER 10.5 | Top | 4-0 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 27 m | Show |
15* Total Game of the Month (OVER) : This entire series just looked too good to be true for total players. You have the best offensive team in baseball in the Red Sox going against a horrible Orioles pitching staff. You saw what happened on Monday as the teams combined for 25 runs. I don't think the oddsmaker can make this total high enough personally. I believe the Red Sox alone can get over these totals. And the pitching matchup is perfect for an OVER. You have Andrew Miller starting for the Sox, who has a 5.68 ERA on the year and a 7.90 ERA in his last three starts. Jake Arrieta will oppose for the O's with his 5.10 ERA on the season and 8.79 ERA in his last three starts. The one time Arrieta faced the Sox this year, how about lasting just 4 1/3 innings, allowing six hits, four walks and four earned runs. The Red Sox will feast on this Orioles staff come Wednesday morning.

05-20-11 | New York Mets v. New York Yankees OVER 9 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -115 | 25 h 3 m | Show |
05/20 07:05 PM EST MLB (913) NEW YORK METS (914) NEW YORK YANKEES
Take: Baseball Total of the Month: Mets/Yankees Over the total. The New Yankee stadium is similar to the old Yankee stadium in one respect -- it's an easy home run park, even more so. The Bronx Bombers are No. 1 in baseball in slugging, plus 4th in runs scored, helped by the home park band-box. The crosstown rival Mets come to town with a struggling knuckleballer in R.A. Dickey. He's 1-5 with a 5.08 ERA and getting worse, with a 7.36 ERA his last three starts. The Over is 6-2 in Dickey's last 8 starts overall and the Over is 5-0 in the Yankees last 5 interleague games vs. a team with a losing record. I don't trust soft-throwing 34-year old Freddy Garcia for the Yankees, and after a good April he is already coming back to earth, with a 4.42 ERA his last three starts. The Yankees have all kinds of problems with defense, as well, which makes it tougher on pitchers and will help the scoring. Look for a shootout in the Bronz; Play the Mets/Yankees Over the total. |

09-08-10 | Texas Rangers v. Toronto Blue Jays OVER 9.5 | Top | 8-1 | Loss | -115 | 24 h 26 m | Show |
Take: over
Reason: 20-Star High Roller Total: Rangers/Blue Jays Over the total. A pair of powerhouse offensive teams meet in the Skydome, an easy home run park. In fact, the Jays are tops in baseball in homers, ranked 7th in the AL in runs, while the Rangers are 4th in runs. Texas goes with Derek Holland, a soft thrower who has allowed 6 homers in 34 innings and a 4.93 ERA. In his last 16 innings, he has allowed 18 hits, 11 walks and 13 runs. Toronto starter Marc Rzepczynski is even worse, with a 6.62 ERA. The Blue Jays are a perfect 4-0 over the total his last four starts, with final scores totaling 12, 14, 16 and 9 runs. Opponents are hitting .306 off him, and he's been worse at home with a 7.80 ERA. Look for an offensive show north of the border, Play the Rangers/Blue Jays Over the total. |
|||||||
08-04-10 | New York Mets v. Atlanta Braves OVER 8.5 | Top | 3-8 | Win | 109 | 17 h 20 m | Show |
The Braves have the Major's best home record and they sure are happy to be home after a tough road trip. The Braves are fifth in the league in runs/game (4.57) and sixth in batting average (.259). But expect those numbers to improve with the acquisition of Rick Ankiel. Ankiel came over from the Royals and is hitting very well with a .387 average and eight RBIs in his last eight games. Ankiel had two hits and two RBIs in his Atlanta home debut Monday. Mike Pelfrey starts today for the Mets and he's been struggling badly. While Pelfrey is 10-5 on the season, he hasn't won a game since June. And, it gets even worse than that. In his last five outings he's allowed four earned runs or more four times. The strikeouts are way down, in fact over those five outings he's allowed 13 walks against just 10 K's. The Braves will start Kris Medlen, a 24-year old from California. Medlen doesn't work a lot of innings, never going even into the seventh inning yet. He's give the Braves some solid outings both as a starter and from the pen. Medlen has allowed eight earned runs in his last two starts (11 innings) and has received a no decision in both starts. I'm looking at this game OVER here Wednesday. Pelfrey is getting hit hard every game out for some reason. Medlen is decent but not going to throw anything spectacular. The Braves should get their runs and if we can get three out of the Mets then this one should go OVER.

07-22-10 | New York Mets v. Los Angeles Dodgers UNDER 8 | Top | 0-2 | Win | 100 | 18 h 25 m | Show |
The Dodgers finally won a game sine the All Star break, ending their six game losing streak for Joe Torre's boys. The fortunes of the Dodgers may also dictate the future of Torre as the skipper of this club. Torre is expected to decide his future within the next 4 weeks or so. A bad season by the Dodgers may just make up Torres mind to jump ship. The Mets meanwhile had dropped eight of their last 10 games heading into Wednesday's game at Arizona. The Mets, like the Dodgers are also dropping further back in their division race, however they appear to be getting healthier as as Jose Reyes and Luis Castillo both returned to the lineup Wednesday. Japanese fans will find particular interest in tonight's game as both teams start pitchers from the Island nation. The Mets start Hisanori Takahashi out of Tokyo. Takahashi got beat up pretty bad last time out, giving up six earned runs in just 2 2/3 innings. The Dodgers will start Hiroki Kuroda from Osaka. Kuroda finally got a good outing last start holding the Cardinals to just one earned run, though he did pick up the loss. Prior to that game, Kuroda gave up 10 runs in just 8 2/3 innings. Dodger Stadium has always been a good pitchers park, especially in the heavy LA night air. Both of these clubs are not hitting well and now the Dodger will be without Manny Ramirez again. I'm sticking with the UNDER here mainly based on two struggling teams that are having trouble scoring runs.

07-21-10 | Boston Red Sox v. Oakland Athletics UNDER 8 | Top | 4-6 | Loss | -115 | 12 h 29 m | Show |
The Boston Red Sox will be happy to get one player back from the IL in pitcher Clay Buchholz. Considering the string of injuries the Sox have had to endure, they need a healthy body returning. Buchholz last pitched on June 26, lasting just one inning before he was forced from the game with an injury. The 25-year old right-hander had been pitching very well up to that point, allowing just six earned runs in 36 1/3 innings. The Red Sox still need some bats to come back in the lineup evidenced by their .198 batting average their last six games and scoring just 16 runs. The A's got a major setback to their batting lineup with the loss of right fielder Ryan Sweeney. Sweeney was leading the team in hitting (.294) but will miss the rest of the season with surgery to his knee. Gio Gonzalez starts for the A's. Gonzo is 8-6 with a 3.63 ERA this season. Gonzo has had quality starts in four of his last five outings. With the exception of July 7 where he gave up five runs to the Yankees, the southpaw has allowed just one run or fewer in the other four starts. What I like about this UNDER three things. First, we have two solid pitchers on the mound, second we get a huge ballpark in Oakland that will be very friendly to the pitchers and third, both teams are hurting with injuries to some key offensive players. This game is shaping up to be a low scoring affair so I will go UNDER here on Wednesday.

07-13-10 | National League v. American League UNDER 8.5 | Top | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 42 h 34 m | Show |
The All Star game has added meaning in so much as the winning team gets home field advantage for their league in the World Series. That has gone to the AL for so long that you would have to go back to Bill Clinton's first term for the last time a NL squad has won this game. The last four All Star games have been relatively low scoring, with 7,7, 9 and 5 runs being scored respectively. The four before those were all high scoring with 12, 13, 13 and 14 runs. This year's classic is played at Anaheim Stadium, home of the Angels. This park underwent major changes in the late 90's which really changed this ballpark from that of a hitters park to more of a pitcher's park. Angel Stadium ranks about 19th in the stadium list of how hitters do at home compared to the on the road. This means Angels hitters actually do a bit better hitting away from home, again because of the size of the park. Cincinnati and the Yankees have the two most hitter friendly stadiums this season. Most people always think of Dodger Stadium as a pitcher's park, but this season Angel Stadium actually is more friendly to the pitchers in LA. That being said, I am looking to play this game UNDER again this season. There usually is no shortage of good arms on either side and with the heavier night air coming off the ocean of Angel Stadium, I look for another low scoring game. Take the UNDER.

07-01-10 | Tampa Bay Rays v. Minnesota Twins OVER 8.5 | Top | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 26 h 28 m | Show |
Take: over the total.
Reason: Total of the Month: Rays/Twins Over the total. Minnesota is an excellent offensive park and notice that the last 15 home games they are 9-6 over the total. After a long road trip the Twins came home to play the Tigers and averaged 7 runs in the series. That was after getting shut out twice on their trip, along with games where the offense scored 1, 3 and 4 runs. Minnesota is 6th in the AL in runs scored, while Tampa Bay comes to town ranked 4th in runs. 34-year old Carl Pavano does not have overpowering stuff, despite a very good season. Notice that he has a 2.82 ERA on the road, but a full run higher (3.81) at home. This is a tough park to thrown in and I'm concerned that the veteran Pavano is off two straight complete games, needing 110 pitches for the complete game Saturday. The team is 2-1 over the total his last three home games, while the Rays are 2-0 over in Jeff Niemann's last two road starts. Play the Rays/Twins Over the total. |

06/25 07:05 PM MLB (973) PITTSBURGH PIRATES VS (974) OAKLAND ATHLETICS edit
Take: UNDER Reason: High Roller Total: Pirates/A's Under the total. If you like offensive baseball, you won't be watching this one. Oakland is a huge park, tough to get hits and home runs in. The Pirates comes to town, 3,000 miles away from home with the worst offensive in the NL. The offense couldn't even muster many runs in Texas on this trip, a great hitter's park. A pair of pitchers are on the mound who don't walk anyone, which is a huge plus, especially in a big park like this. Brad Lincoln of the Pirates has 6 walks in 18 innings and the A's have never faced him. The Oakland offense is third worst in the AL. Starter Ben Sheets has done well in this park, with a 2-2 record and a 2.79 ERA at home (0-5 on the road), with opponents hitting just .220 off him in this park this season. Can't see many runs being scored by either team. Play the Pirates/A's Under the total. |

06-20-10 | Chicago White Sox v. Washington Nationals UNDER 9.5 | Top | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
The Chicago White Sox have one of the hottest pitching staffs going right now. The Sox have a nifty 1.87 ERA over their last nine games. Today's starter, Freddy Garcia has been a big part of that good staff, as he looks for his sixth straight win here on Sunday. Garcia is 7-4 with a 4.94 ERA this season though he has never faced the Nationals. Garcia gets to face a slumping Nationals team that has lost five straight games and has hit just .182 and scored an average of 2.2 runs during the losing streak. So far in this series the Nationals have scored just one run, and that doesn't look to improve much here on Sunday. Very good WHite Sox pitching coupled with an anemic Washington lineup has me looking UNDER in this contest.
