12-02-20 | Hartford +4 v. Fairfield | 66-61 | Win | 100 | 5 h 54 m | Show
Hartford finished 2019 with a 18-15 overall mark and 9-7 America East record (3rd). The Hawks won the American East Semifinals last season. At the time of the NCAA suspension of season, the Hawks were playing their best basketball. The program now has three winning seasons in a row and look to be on the right track. They just need to develop their young players. Fairfield returns three starters to a team that was 12-20 last year and 8th in the Metro Atlantic. The Stags will have to be more reliable on the offense if they hope to compete in the conference. The defense was very good, allowing just 62.9 points per game last season. But should they be laying points? I don't believe so. I'll take Hartford. |

12-02-20 | Providence +2.5 v. Alabama | Top | 71-88 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 54 m | Show |
Providence has opened the season with a 2-1 record S/U and 0-2 record vs the spread. The Friars are coming off a win over Davidson, 63-62 as a 1.5 point favorite. They led the entire game over Davidson and only failed to cover the spread in the last minute. A lot was expected out of Alabama this year and thus far it's been mixed results. They opened with a win over Jackonsville, 81-57 and then got whipped by Stanford, 64-82. The rebounded last night with a win over UNLV, 86-74, pushing the 12-point line. However, they trailed the entire first half and only came on the second half. I'm not as impressed with this Alabama team as I expected to be. I'm going to take Providence here today. |
12-02-20 | VCU +4.5 v. Penn State | 69-72 | Win | 100 | 3 h 54 m | Show
VCU is 2-1 both S/U and ATS so far this young season. The Rams were 8th in the Atlantic 10 last season and 18-13 overall. The returned just one starter this season. The beat Utah State to open the season, then lost to West Virginia and won their last game over Memphis, 70-59 as a 5.5 point dog. Penn State has just one game thus far and that was a win over VMI, 86-65. The Nittany Lions returned three starters to a team that was 21-10 last year and finished 5th in the Big 10. This team has gone through ups and downs the last few years but the biggest issue is in the frontcourt. HC Stevens need someone to step up this year and be a leader. It's early, but I'm going to take the points here with VCU. |
12-01-20 | Western Kentucky +4 v. Louisville | Top | 54-75 | Loss | -108 | 6 h 7 m | Show |
: Get some Kentucky action here this afternoon as Western Kentucky looks for some bragging rights and recruiting edges as they go up against instate rival Louisville. The Hilltoppers are 2-1 S/U and ATS thus far with a pair of nice wins over Northern Iowa (93-87) and over Memphis (75-69), covering both. They did lose last time out to West Virginia, 64-70 and just failed to cover the 5.5 point dog spread. Louisville is 3-0 S/U and 1-2 ATS thus far. The Cardinals beat Evansville, 79-44, then just got by Seton Hall, 71-70, before cruising to a win over Prairie View A&M, 86-64. Louisville returns four starters from last year's team that went 24-7 overall. The Cardinals always play tough non-conference schedules and that leaves spots to get some wins against them. That comes today as the Hilltoppers more motivated in this matchup then the Cards. Play Western Kentucky. |
11-30-20 | St. John's v. Boston College | 97-93 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 44 m | Show
St Johns Red Storm have opened the season 2-0 S/U and 1-1 ATS. They opened with a win over St Peters, 76-75, though they barely covered as a 11-point favorite. Then they rebounded with a nice win over Lasalle, 82-65. Boston College is 1-1 S/U and 2-0 ATS. The Eagles opened with a loss to top 10 Villanova, 67-76 and then beat a very good Rhode Island team, 69-64. St John's returned four starters to a team that was 17-15 last year and 5-13 in the Big East. Last year was a transition year and the record showed that. They still have a long way to go to be a factor in the Big East, but they have the building blocks to do so. BC returns three starters to a 13-19 team from last year. The Eagles lost in the 2nd round of the ACC tournament last season. Even though BC lost starters to graduation, they returned enough talent to actually make them better this year. That has showed as they played two very good teams and were in both games and in fact covered both. This is the game they get to win here today against an inferior St Johns squad. |
11-29-20 | Rhode Island -1 v. San Francisco | 84-71 | Win | 100 | 7 h 35 m | Show
Rhode Island got their first win of the season after a pair of losses. I had RI on Saturday and was big on how good this team really is and that they were primed for a win and they go the blow out win for me. Rhode Island finished last year at 21-9 overall and 13-5 in the Atlantic 10 (3rd place). The club returns two starters to this year's team. This team has a lot of talent and will be deep on their bench. They also have an excellent backcourt and will pressure in a lot of man-to-man situations. San Francisco Dons are 2-1 S/U and ATS after three games. They beat Virginia on Friday, 61-60 as a 15-point dog. They also got beat in their opener by UMass-Lowell, 68-76 as a 14-point favorite. I still like this Rhode Island team a lot and look for them to continue their winning ways today. Play Rhode Island. |
11-29-20 | Richmond +8.5 v. Kentucky | 76-64 | Win | 100 | 2 h 5 m | Show
Richmond played its first game on Friday and go the win over Morehead State, 82-64, though failed to cover the 21-point chalk line. The Spiders return all five starters to a team that was 24-7 last year and 2nd in the Atlantic 10 with a 14-4 record. All good things on horizon for this Richmond team. This team is full of veterans and leaders. Kentucky has also played one game, a 81-45 win over Morehead State last Wednesday as a 25.5 point favorite. Kentucky looks to be in a rebuild mode as they lost all five starters from a team that went 25-6 last year and 15-3 in the SEC (1st place). This is nothing new for Calipari as he usually looses many players to the NBA draft. So it might take a bit for this team to find the right starting combinations. For me, Richmond has all the pieces in place already and early in the season that makes the difference for me. Play Richmond. |
11-28-20 | Rhode Island +1.5 v. South Florida | 84-68 | Win | 100 | 6 h 53 m | Show
Rhode Island has a couple of games behind them now and they are 0-2 S/U and 1-1 ATS thus far. After shooting 50% from 3-point land in their opener vs Arizona State, they dropped to just 17% in their loss to Boston College last game. South Florida Bulls played Florida College for their only game, an easy win 94-84. A lot is expected of this Rams team so 0-2 to start is not acceptable. That being said, I don't look for this Rams team to start the season 0-3. I expect them to get their first win here today. Play Rhode Island. |
11-27-20 | La Salle v. St. Peter's -2 | 51-62 | Win | 100 | 4 h 40 m | Show
The Lasalle Explorers opened their seasson with a loss to St Johns, 65-82. Lasalle was 15-15 overall last year and 6-12 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. They return three starters to the team for Ashley Howard. Lasalle will have more depth this year and the talent level should be better also. This team will go down in their frontcourt however, where they will lack the most talent. This team is still in a building mode. St Peters also opened with a loss to St Johns, 75-76. They did cover the 11-point dog line though. The Peacocks hit over 50% from the field while holding St Johns to just 40.7%. The Peacocks returned just two starters to a team that was 4-6 in the Metro Atlantic last year and finished 2nd. This team looks to be good both in front an back courts again this year and the Bench is decent. They showed they can play with St Johns and really should have won that game. Look for a easy St Peters win here today. |
11-27-20 | Boise State +13 v. Houston | 58-68 | Win | 100 | 3 h 39 m | Show
Boise State plays its first game of the season here today. The Broncos return two starters to a team that finished 20-12 last year and 11-7 in the Mountain West. The Broncos have now won 20 games seven times in the last eight seasons. Head Coach Leon Rice said this will be his most athletic team he has had in some time. The backcourt will be excellent this year and they will have plenty of depth on the bench. Rice says they have eight or nine players that can start on this team and that makes for a great bench. The hardest part for Rice is finding which five to start. Houston had an easy tuneup with Lamar on Wednesday, winning 89-45. The Cougars held Lamar to just 30% shooting from the field and 7.7% from the 3-point stripe. Houston was 23-8 last year and 13-5 in the American Athletic, which tied them for first. They return three starters to this year's team. HC Kelvin Sampson has built a decent program in Houston and that looks to continue this year. This will be a nice test against a very good Boise State team here today. I think Houston laying 13.5 against a good Boise team is way too many points. I'm taking the dog here in this one. Play Boise State. |
11-27-20 | Belmont v. George Mason +3.5 | 77-67 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 39 m | Show
Belmont opened its season with a win over Howard yesterday, 95-78. The Bruins hit over 50% of their shots from the field. Belmont was first in the Ohio Valley conference last year with a 26-7 overall record and 15-3 conference mark. The Bruins had a NCAA berth last year until it was pulled by Covid. There are high hopes for this club this season. George Mason plays its first game of the season here today. The Patriots looks to rebound from a 5-13 conference record last year, though they did have an overall winning record at 17-15. Mason had lots of injury problems last year that they hope to avoid this season. They return all five starters, which is great news for Dave Paulsen. This team should have much better depth with those starters returning and a healthy bench. Belmont laying points here today. For me, I'll take Mason as they return all that experience and should gel better early with a lack of game experience most teams will have. Play George Mason. |
11-25-20 | Liberty +9.5 v. Purdue | 64-77 | Loss | -106 | 19 h 51 m | Show
Liberty had an excellent season last year before the Covid stopped play. The Flames were 30-4 and 13-3 in the Atlanta Sun (1st place). Ritchie McKay enters his 8th season at Liberty. This team doesn't look to be as dynamic as it was last year but expect them to be right in the thick of the A-Sun race again this year. This team was 2nd in the nation in scoring defense, allowing a paltry 53.8 ppg last year. Expect that same kind of tenacity again this year. IT's a shame that last year's team got shut down just after winning the A-Sun Championship and heading to the NCAA tourney. He does return guards Darius McGhee and Elijah Cuffee to build this year's team around. Liberty hasn't lost the A-Sun since joining the conference. They had heavy losses to graduation and that will show in their depth as six red-shirt freshman will grace the roster. This team might not be as good as last year, but they will still be a team that will be there at the end. Lets take the points here on Wednesday. |
11-25-20 | Old Dominion +8 v. Maryland | 67-85 | Loss | -108 | 15 h 21 m | Show
Old Dominion Monarchs look for a better season after a 13-19 2019 season. The Monarchs finished the year with just seven players on the roster after injuries and mid-season transfers. The team looks for more depth as they welcome back Jason Jones, one of their best players. This was a great rebounding team, 1st in Conference USA on both the offensive and defensive boards. It's the offense they need improvement with this year. Look for the Monarchs to up the tempo this year with the offense with some key returners on offense. You may even see four guards on the floor at the same time. If this team can improve on the offense, and do believe that will happen, they have the pieces to contend in the conference. As for today's contest, I'll take the points here with the visitor. Play Old Dominion. |
10-11-20 | Lakers v. Heat +6.5 | 106-93 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 9 m | Show
Game six here in the NBA Finals as the Miami Heat just won't go quietly. Heat guard Jimmy Butler put his team on his back and carried them in the 4th quarter of game five, hitting clutch shots and making every free throw. The Lakers had their shots in that 4th quarter and LeBron James did all he could to get the win, but in the end it was Butler and the Heat pulling out the win and forcing another game. Heat point guard Goran Dragic is still doubtful here with a foot injury. Lakers forward Anthony Davis was limping noticeably in game five and he does show up on the injury report, but is probably with a heel issue. The oddsmaker continues to chip away at this line, going from Lakers -9 or -10 in game four to Lakers -7 in game five and now down to -5 on Lakers. However, the public has now pushed that number back up to around seven and for me, that's too many points again here today. I'm taking the Heat. |
10-09-20 | Heat +7.5 v. Lakers | Top | 111-108 | Win | 100 | 17 h 27 m | Show |
The Lakers are one game away from the NBA Championship. However, Jimmy Butler and the rest of the Heat will make it as difficult as possible for that to happen, at least today. Butler has basically taken this team on his shoulders with injuries to center Bam Adebayo and point guard Goran Dragic. Abedayo likely will play today while Dragic is doubtful with a foot injury. The Heat covered game four, albeit within the last minute of the game. I expect the Heat to stay within striking distance of the line here tonight and do what they did in game four. Furthermore, I like this game to go over the total. Your free play is on the OVER. |
10-06-20 | Lakers v. Heat +7.5 | 102-96 | Win | 100 | 21 h 12 m | Show
The Miami Heat showing that they weren't quite dead yet after falling down 0-2 in their NBA Finals with the Lakers. The Jimmy Butler show was on full tap Sunday as the Heat got in the win column with a 115-104 game three win. Butler is confident that the Heat will even this series here on Tuesday at 2-2. The Heat won game three without two of their better players as Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo both missed game three with injuries. Abebayo likely will play here in game four while Dragic is doubtful. The Lakers will likely use Butler's confidence as a rally point here on Tuesday. For me, I will take the points with Butler, I mean the Heat. Play Miami. |
10-02-20 | Heat v. Lakers -9.5 | 114-124 | Win | 100 | 18 h 15 m | Show
The Lakers became the first team in the NBA finals to trail by 10 points or more and then lead by 30 points or more in the same game. That's just what they did in game one of the Finals as the Heat jumped out to a big lead, only to be caught by the end of the 1st quarter and then proceed to get blown out by the Lakers. The Heat will be nursing some injuries here on Friday. Center Bam Adebayo is doubful with a shoulder injury. Guard Goran Dragic is doubtful with a foot injury. And guard Jimmy Butler is probable with a ankle injury. It's apparent that the Lakers are just too much for the Heat. With the Heat being banged-up too I don't see this one lasting long. The Lakers should easily cruise to victory here on Friday. Play Lakers. |
09-30-20 | Heat +4.5 v. Lakers | Top | 98-116 | Loss | -102 | 20 h 13 m | Show |
The NBA Finals have finally arrived. It's been a long time in the bubble in Orlando, but the teams made it through with no Covid cases. The Heat dispatched the Boston Celtics to get here tonight while the Lakers got rid of the pesky Denver Nuggets. The Lakers are prohibitive favorites, which isn't surprising since they are a very public team. The Heat are a bit of a surprise to be here today. The Lakers are really a two-player team of Lebron James and Anthony Davis. This is exactly why these two players were brought to LA, to bring back the Championship trophy. For me, I like the Heat as I believe they are a much deeper team. Once you get pas James and Davis, this Lakers team is quite ordinary. I'm throwing out all the numbers in this and taking the Heat who I believe will give the Lakers all they can handle. Play Miami. |
09-24-20 | Lakers v. Nuggets +6 | 114-108 | Push | 0 | 9 h 44 m | Show
The Denver Nuggets are no stranger to come from behind series wins as they did so both in the Jazz and the Clippers series. The Nuggets were down 0-2 in this series with the Lakers before winning game three, 114-106. Anthony Davis and Lebron James lead the team in scoring in this series for the Lakers with 166 combined points. However, Denver's top two scorers, Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic aren't far behind with 147 total points. The Lakers have won both their previous series in five games while Denver has gone the full seven. I feel Denver is scrappy enough to stick around in this game and the points are more than I think the Lakers should be laying. Play Denver. |
09-18-20 | Nuggets v. Lakers -7 | Top | 114-126 | Win | 100 | 10 h 34 m | Show |
The Denver Nuggets did it again, coming from down 1-3 in a series to pull the upset. They beat the Clippers after being down 1-3 just as they did in the previous series vs the Jazz. When they closed out the Jazz in game seven (80-78) they started the Clippers series with a blowout loss, 97-120. This was likely due to the emotion and exhausting win over the Jazz. The Lakers lost their first game to the Rockets and then rattled off four straight wins to take that series in five games and give them some rest. Now they face the tired Nuggets here again today. The Nuggets will be tired and mentally exhausted after two straight come from behind series wins. The Lakers should be a blowout win here in game one just as the Clippers were vs the Nuggets. I'll lay the points with LA. Take the Lakers. |
09-11-20 | Celtics v. Raptors +3 | 92-87 | Loss | -115 | 21 h 52 m | Show
The Boston Celtics could have won this series a few times over now, but they keep finding ways to give the Raptors new life. After a double OT loss in game six, 122-125, the Celtics have to feel they have won at least five of these games already. The pressure is off the Raptors here in Game 7 as realistically they should have already been ejected from the bubble. I am going to take the points here with the Raptors as they just find ways to keep winning. Play Toronto. |
09-10-20 | Lakers v. Rockets +5.5 | 110-100 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 51 m | Show
Game four here today in the best of seven between the Lakers and Rockets. Rockets stole game one, 112-97, before the Lakers rebounded in games two and three with a pair of wins. Now the Lakers can either take a commanding 3-1 lead or the Rockets can make this a dog fight and tie it up at 2-2. For me, I like the Rockets to put forward their best game here in game four. They can ill afford to go down 1-3 to the Lakers. If they can get Westbrook back on track they can take this game. For me, I'll take the points with the Rockets tonight. |
09-09-20 | Clippers v. Nuggets +8 | Top | 96-85 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
Game four of the series between the Clippers and the Nuggets with the Clippers leading 2-1. The Clippers rebounded from their game two loss with a win in game three that Denver led for a lot of the way, 113-107. Denver led 98-90 in the 4th and was outscored 8-0 and then never got the lead back again. The Clips can take a commanding 3-1 lead with a win today or Denver can make this a series with a win of their own. Denver center Nikola Jokic had 32 points and 12 rebounds despite playing with a bad wrist. This is the game that Denver can ill afford to lose. I look for their best effort here tonight. Take the points with the Nuggets. |
09-08-20 | Lakers v. Rockets +5 | 112-102 | Loss | -108 | 9 h 18 m | Show
Had to figure the Lakers would come hitting on all cylinders after they were embarrassed in game one of their series with the Rockets, 97-112. The Lakers cruised in game two, 117-109, though the final score was probably the closest the Rockets got the entire game. The Rockets are still waiting for Russell Westbrook to get going after he missed the first four games of the playoffs. Westbrook turned the ball over seven times in their game two loss. Now that the teams have evened this series I look for closer games. And tonight I'm going to Zig back to the dog in this one. Take the Rockets in game 3. |
09-07-20 | Clippers v. Nuggets +9 | 113-107 | Win | 100 | 10 h 8 m | Show
The Denver Nuggets came out flat in game one and got beat badly by the Clippers. That was expected and I also expected them to make adjustments after that game one loss, which they did. And those adjustments turned into a big game 2 win by the Nuggets, 110-101. Now with the series even at one game each the Nuggets look to steal another one here today. We'll see if the Clippers can make those post game adjustments like the Nuggets did. For me, I think this series gets tighter now with each game. This like is just a bit too big for my liking. I'm taking the points here with the Nuggets. Play Denver. |
09-07-20 | Celtics -1.5 v. Raptors | Top | 111-89 | Win | 100 | 9 h 27 m | Show |
The Boston Celtics and the Toronto Raptors play game five of their best of seven series here on Monday. The Celtics open the series with two straight wins 112-94 and 102-99. However, the defending champion Toronto Raptors have rebounded with two straight wins, 104-103 and 100-93. They have shown why they are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA and that defense has gotten them back into the series. The Celtics will need to see Kemba Walker step it up here in game five after taking just nine shots in their last Saturday loss. Also struggling was Jaylen Brown who had just 14 points on four of 18 shooting from the field. The good news for the Celtics today they get back Gordon Hayward in the bubble and he will play for the first time since he sprained his ankle in game one of their first round playoff series. For me I like the Celtics here in game five. Play the Boston Celtics. |
09-06-20 | Bucks v. Heat -2 | Top | 118-115 | Loss | -109 | 14 h 51 m | Show |
The Miami Heat are on the verge of doing something that no one expected of them, sweeping the Milwaukee Bucks. If being down 0-3 isn't enough for the Bucks, they also ould be without star player, Giannis Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo is questionable with an ankle injury and in fact was downgraded to doubtful. Don't think there is much hope for the Bucks, who I believe have thrown in the towel as they likely will be without their star player. I'm taking the Heat as the sweep the Bucks right out of the Bubble! Play Miami. |
09-05-20 | Nuggets +9.5 v. Clippers | 110-101 | Win | 100 | 10 h 2 m | Show
The Nuggets got overpowered in game one of this series with the Clippers, losing 97-120. Kawhi Leonard scored 29 points for the Clippers and got to rest the entire 4th quarter. The Nuggets really had no time to prepare for the Clippers as they were forced to a game seven in their opening series with the Jazz. The Nuggets came out flat and that isn't surprising. Now, they have had time to reflect and adjust. I see the Nuggets getting back at least to a competitive game here in game two. Take the Nuggets. |
09-05-20 | Raptors v. Celtics -1 | 100-93 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 18 m | Show
The Boston Celtics looked like they had game three of their series with the Raptors in their back pockets. The Celtics had already won games one and two before their last second loss in game three, 103-104. Toronto is lucky to be down 1-2 in the series considering they are shooting 38.5% from the field and 26.3% from 3-point stripe. The Raptors needed a buzzer beater in game three by OG Anunoby with just a half second left or they would be down 0-3 in this series. Still, the Celtics have outplayed them at every angle and for me, I'm sticking with the better team despite their unlucky loss in game three. Take the Celtics. |
09-03-20 | Raptors -1 v. Celtics | Top | 104-103 | Push | 0 | 13 h 49 m | Show |
The Boston Celtics have taken a 2-0 lead here in this best of seven series with the Toronto Raptors. The Celtics have held the defending NBA champs to under 100 points in each of the first two games. The Raptors were in a similar situation last year, trailing the Milwaukee Bucks 0-2 before winning four straight. The Raptors blew a 12-point lead in game two, something they can ill afford here today. The Raptors in pretty much a must win situation here as they look to get a win in this series. The Raptors know what it takes to get back in this series and I look for them to do just that here today. Take the Raptors. |
08-31-20 | Rockets v. Thunder +5.5 | 100-104 | Win | 100 | 8 h 57 m | Show
Thunder were embarrassed in game five against the Rockets, losing 80-114. For me, the Thunder are too good a team to be eliminated here tonight after a performance they had in game five. I expect a rebound game here for Thunder and with that I'm going to take the points and won't be surprised at all by a straight-up Thunder win. Play Oklahoma City |
08-31-20 | Heat +5.5 v. Bucks | 115-104 | Win | 100 | 19 h 3 m | Show
Game one here between the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks in round two of the NBA Playoffs. Heat star Jimmy Butler missed two of the three matchups between these clubs this year. His one game he did play resulted in a Heat win back on March 2, 105-89. In fact, the Heat were the only Eastern team to win a series with the Bucks this year. The Heat swept the Pacers in the first round holding Indiana to 101 or fewer in three of their four wins. The Bucks lost game one of their series to the Magic 110-122. They woke up after that, taking the next four. This should be a great series and here in game one I'll take the points with the Heat and won't be surprised if they steal this game outright. Play Miami. |
08-30-20 | Clippers -10.5 v. Mavs | 111-97 | Win | 100 | 4 h 34 m | Show
LA CLippers can eliminate the Dallas Mavericks here today in game six of their series. The Clipper scored a whopping 154 points in game five that was never in doubt from the opening tip of th egame. These teams have zig zagged in this series with the Clippers taking games 1, 3 and five and the Mavs taking games two and four. Still, I like the Clippers today to finish this one off and move on to the next round. Play Clippers. |
08-30-20 | Celtics +2 v. Raptors | 112-94 | Win | 100 | 2 h 53 m | Show
Game one of this second round series between the Celtics and the Raptors. The Celtics swept the 76ers in their first round series. Tatum averaged 27 points and almost 10 rebounds a game for Boston. The Raptors began defense of their NBA Championship with a sweep of the Brooklyn Nets. Raptors guard Kyle Lowry is questionable today with a ankle injury. The Celtics will continue playing without forward Gordon Hayward. I like the Celtics here in game one plus the small points. |
08-24-20 | Lakers v. Blazers +7.5 | 135-115 | Loss | -104 | 21 h 48 m | Show
The Portland Trailblazers looked like they were going to win game 3 with the Lakers. However, a 40-point third quarter by the Lakers put them back in the lead as the Lakers just covered the 7 point spread. For Portland, their key is the health of star guard Damian Lilliard, who hurt his index finger in the third quarter of game two. Lilliard played with the dislocated finger in game three and still put up 34-points in the loss. In the second half, Lilliard was just 2-of-9 from the field. The guard did admit the finger played a part in his sub-par performance. Still, Lilliard can contribute in many ways and I'm going to take the points here on Monday. |
08-24-20 | Pacers +6.5 v. Heat | 87-99 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 13 m | Show
The Indiana Pacers face bubble ejection if they lose here in game four vs the Heat. The Pacers are down 0-3 in this series and now it comes down to if they have the heart to continue or not. The Heat took game three, 124-115. The Pacers could have won game three if they didn't commit so many fouls, as Miami went to the free throw line a whopping 52 times and made 43. The Pacers do have one reason to win here today, the possible return of Domantas Sabonis who could return by game six. Sabonis had to go through quarantine so he can't play here on Monday, but a Pacers win and he could be available and that could be a series changer. I'm going to take the Pacers plus the points and see if they have the heart to win here on Monday. |
08-23-20 | Nuggets +3.5 v. Jazz | Top | 127-129 | Win | 100 | 10 h 16 m | Show |
The Denver Nuggets won the opener in this series and since then it's been downhill. The Nuggets lost game two, 105-124 and then got blown out in game three, 87-124. That makes today's game four a very important one for the Nuggets. They can ill afford to go down 1-3 in this series. The Nuggets need to regroup on defense and keep the Jazz from score 120+ points here today, as they have done in all three games. They also need to find the offense again too. The key here today is not to get out to another slow start for the Nuggets. I look for them to come out aggressive and get away from being down big in the first quarter. I have to give them a shot here, their collective backs are up against the wall and they are too good a team to go down like this. Take Denver. |
08-21-20 | Nuggets v. Jazz +1 | 87-124 | Win | 100 | 4 h 40 m | Show
This series is tied 1-1 after Utah took game two, 124-105 over the Nuggets. Donovan Mitchell has been amazing for the Jazz. Mitchell had 57-points in a losing game one effort and then chipped-in another 30-points in the game two win. What made the difference for Mitchell was how he got more of his team mates involved in game two and didn't need to shoulder all the scoring himself. The Jazz put it all together in game two with both offense and defense. The Nuggets need a way to respond to what happened in game two and I don't see that happening. Jazz look to take control of this series here today. Play Utah. |
08-20-20 | Blazers +6.5 v. Lakers | 88-111 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 45 m | Show
The Portland Trailblazers and LA Lakers play game two of their best of seven series. The Blazers have been basically in the playoffs since they returned, as every game was crucial to them making the postseason. They did so by beating the Grizzlies in a play-in game last Saturday, 126-122. The Blazers shocked the Lakers in game one, taking the opening stanza of this series. Damian Lillard has been unstoppable, as he collected 34 points in the game one victory. The Lakers could see the return of Rajon Rondo, who has been cleared to play and is day-to-day. Still, the Blazers will continue to pile on the points as they have done since returning to play. The Blazers are also 47-22 ATS (68%) vs the Lakers in their last 69 meetings. Take Portland! |
08-20-20 | Thunder +3 v. Rockets | 98-111 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 22 m | Show
The Houston Rockets aren't shy when it comes to shooting three-point shots. The Rockets shot 52 from beyond the stripe in game one of this series, a 123-108 win. They do this mainly because they have a small lineup. The Rockets will be without star Russell Westbrook again here today. Expect the Thunder to slow the pace in this game. Keep the ball out of the Houston offense and keep those three's down a bit. The Thunder have done well vs the Rockets, despite that game one outcome. Houston is 5-1 ATS in their last six meetings with the Rockets. I think Westbrooks absence will be more felt here in game two and I look for the Thunder to slow things down. Take Oklahoma City. |
08-20-20 | Heat v. Pacers +4.5 | 109-100 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 52 m | Show
Miami took game one of their best of seven series with the Pacers, 113-101. The Pacers will need more contributors here in game two. Pacers star T.J Warren will need more supporting cast as the only person to really help out in game one was Malcom Brogdon, who scored 22-points. Warren took only 18 shots from the field, far fewer than he's used to seeing. In faft, when Warren has 23 or more shots the Pacers are 4-0. Miami doesn't typically do well off a spread cover. The Heat are just 6-20 in their last 26 times follow a spread win. They are also 5-20-1 ATS in their last 26 following a straight up win. I like the Pacers to bounce back here in game two. Play Pacers. |
08-19-20 | 76ers +5 v. Celtics | 101-128 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 36 m | Show
Sixers lost game one of this playoff series to the Celtics, 101-109. Boston got 32-points from Jayson Tatum. Sixers star Joel Embiid was held in check by the Sixer, scoring just 26 quiet points. Bad news though for the Celtics as Gordon Hayward suffered a 4th quarter ankle sprain and is likely out the rest of the series at least. I like teams to rebound after a game like the Sixers had. And without Hayward it will be even tougher for the Celtics. Play Philadelphia. |
08-18-20 | Thunder v. Rockets | 108-123 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 1 m | Show
Thunder and Rockets open game one of the playoffs in what should be a very good Western Conference clash. The Rockets finished 4th in the West and the Thunder 5th, even though they tied in totals wins at 44. Not that home court matters in the NBA bubble world, but Houston was determined to be the home team. The Rockets lost their last three games and the Thunder lost their last game. The Rockets will be without their star player in Russell Westbrook. The two teams traded star players in offseason with Chris Paul coming to the Thunder and Westbrook to the Rockets. For me, the loss of Westbrook even for a few games is a huge difference in this matchup. I'll take the Thunder until Westbrook returns. Play Oklahoma City. |
08-18-20 | Heat v. Pacers +4.5 | 113-101 | Loss | -109 | 2 h 25 m | Show
This matchup in today's playoffs has the No 4 Indiana Pacers taking on the No 5 Miami Heat. The Pacers are the dog here in game one despite being the higher seed. The teams split their head-to-head matchup in the bubble with the Pacers winning last Friday to secure the 4th seed, 109-92. I'm a bit surprised that the Pacers are a 4 1/2 point dog despite the two teams being virtually identical. I like the value here with the dog that I think can win this one outright. Play Indiana. |
08-17-20 | Nets +9.5 v. Raptors | 110-134 | Loss | -110 | 39 h 7 m | Show
The NBA Playoffs begin here on Monday as the Nets and Raptors face off in game one. The Nets finished their regular season 7th in the East and had a find restart to their season winning seven of their last 10 games. The Nets average 111.8 ppg on the season and allow 112.3 ppg. They will face the East's second best team in the Raptors. Toronto comes into the playoffs winners of four straight and nine of their last 10 games. The Nets have been scoring a lot of points and getting almost double digits here on Monday seems like a mountain for the Raptors to climb. I'll take the points here with the dog. Play Brooklyn. |
08-15-20 | Grizzlies +6 v. Blazers | 122-126 | Win | 100 | 15 h 60 m | Show
Memphis held the 8th spot in the West for some time before allowing Portland to climb back into a tie. So today we have a Play-in game for the Playoffs that will give the winner the right to play the Lakers. Memphis didn't finish all that well, losing seven of their last 10 games. Opposite for Portland, who won seven of their last 10 games. Still, I believe this line is too out of range for this Blazers team to be favored by this much. Look for a close game and a Memphis cover. Play Memphis Grizzlies. |
08-11-20 | Rockets v. Spurs -4.5 | Top | 105-123 | Win | 100 | 2 h 8 m | Show |
Early game here on Tuesday has Houston and San Antonio squaring-off in a battle of Texas. Houston has clinched their division title and a playoff spot. Right now the Rockets are 4th in the West but could overtake 3rd place Denver which is just one game ahead of them. The San Antonio Spurs are close to elimination. The Spurs are 2-games back of the 8th and final playoff spot, currently held by Memphis. That means the Spurs can't lose here tonight or they are done. The Spurs have covered five of their last seven games. With what's on the line here tonight, I'll take San Antonio to keep their playoff lives afloat. Take San Antonio. |
08-09-20 | 76ers v. Blazers -3 | Top | 121-124 | Push | 0 | 8 h 58 m | Show |
Philadelphia has won three straight games and sits in the 6th place in the East standings. The Sixers are just a half game from fourth place Miami with the Pacers in between. Portland still on the outside looking in as the Blazers are 9th right now, 1 1/2 games back of Memphis. That makes every game a must game for the Blazers at this point. Both sides have key injuries. The Sixers are going to be without guard Ben Simmons (16.7 ppg) who has a knee injury. The Blazers center Hassan Whiteside (16.3 ppg) is questionable with a hip injury. Portland laying a few points here. I'll have to side with the Blazers in this one as they need the win badly. Play Portland. |
08-08-20 | Bucks v. Mavs +5.5 | 132-136 | Win | 100 | 10 h 56 m | Show
The Milwaukee Bucks have struggled since entering the Bubble losing to the Nets and Rockets. They did rebound last time out with a big win over the Heat, 130-116. Still, not much for the Bucks to play for as they have the East top seed locked-up. The Dallas Mavericks have clinched a playoff spot in the West, but they could improve their lot and move up from their 7th position. The Mavs have just one win in their last four games and that was over the Kings, 114-110. Who wants to play today is the question. My feeling is the Mavericks need this game just a bit more. Play Dallas. |
08-08-20 | Suns -2 v. Heat | 119-112 | Win | 100 | 8 h 32 m | Show
Miami Heat has clinched a playoff berth in the Eastern Conference with the number 4 spot. The Heat are 3 games back of the Celtics so not likely to overtake Boston. However, they are just one game ahead of Indiana and Philly for that 5 and 6 spots. Meanwhile, Phoenix still has an outside shot to make the top 8 playoff spots in the West. The Suns are 2 1/2 games back of the Grizzlies with the Blazers, Spurs and Pelicans also in contention. The Suns have been playing well and look to win today's contest if they have any hope of making the playoffs. Take Phoenix. |
08-08-20 | Clippers v. Blazers -2.5 | Top | 122-117 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 35 m | Show |
Clippers sitting firmly in 2nd place in the West with no hope of catching the Lakers at this point. Therefore, today expect them to be resting Kawhi Leonard, their best player. Some teams already putting it in cruise control as they await the playoffs and the Clippers might be one of those teams. Portland is one game back of the Grizzlies for that final playoff spot so this is a must win for them. I look for a big effort today out of the Blazers. Your Bubble Game of the Month is on the Blazers. |
08-07-20 | Thunder -4.5 v. Grizzlies | 92-121 | Loss | -101 | 5 h 32 m | Show
The Memphis Grizzlies are barely holding onto that 8th and final spot in the playoffs with four games left. They have not done well either, dropping four straight and now their schedule gets tougher. The Blazers are just a half game back and the Suns and Spurs 1 1/2 games back. The Thunder have clinched a playoff spot but still can better their position. The Thunder are 2-1 in their three games since the restart. The way these clubs are playing the Grizzlies look like they will lose their playoff spot and that might happen here tonight. Play the Thunder. |
08-07-20 | Jazz v. Spurs -8 | 111-119 | Push | 0 | 2 h 31 m | Show
The San Antonio Spurs playing with some urgency as they are on the outside of the playoff bubble looking in. The Spurs are in 11th place, 2-games back of the Grizzlies. Utah has clinched a playoff spot, though they can still finish as high as 2nd and as low as 6th place. The Jazz are just 4-9-1 ATS their last 14 games dating before the break. The Jazz are also 2-5 in their last seven meetings with the Spurs. More urgency with the Spurs here as they can ill afford a loss. I'll take the points with San Antonio. |
08-06-20 | Pacers v. Suns +2.5 | 99-114 | Win | 100 | 5 h 59 m | Show
The Phoenix Suns chasing that 8th playoff spot in the West. The Suns are 2 1/2 games back of the Grizzlies with the Pelicans, Spurs and Blazers still ahead of them. The Pacers have locked-up a playoff spot in the East and right now sit 5th. They can improve to as good as third with the Celtics just three-games ahead of them. However, they could fall to 6th as the Sixers are just one game back. More desperation here for the Suns. Suns are 3-0 since restart and have big wins over the Clippers and Mavericks. I like the way the Suns are playing and the Pacers have not as much to play for. Take Suns. |
08-06-20 | Pelicans -4.5 v. Kings | 125-140 | Loss | -106 | 2 h 29 m | Show
Every game is very important for the Pelicans as they can still make the playoffs. New Orleans is two games back of 8th place Memphis and that means that can't take any game for granted. The Kings are just one game back of the Pelicans so they aren't out of the playoff picture either. However, Sacramento has five teams they would have to jump over to get to that 8th spot. The Kings have lost three straight games and have allowed 114, 132 and 129 in those losses. They play a Pelicans team here early on Thursday that got it's first win of the restart with a 109-99 win over that 8th place Memphis team. Pelicans need this game more than Kings. I'm taking New Orleans here today. |
08-04-20 | Rockets v. Blazers +4 | 102-110 | Win | 100 | 10 h 47 m | Show
The Portland Trailblazers currently sit outside the playoff bubble while inside the Disney bubble. They hope to get back inside both bubbles as they trail the Memphis Grizzlies by two games for that final playoff spot. The Houston Rocket sit fourth in the West, but just 1 1/2 games separate them and 6th place Oklahoma City. The Blazer are coming off a loss to the Celtics, 124-128 though they played very well in that game. That makes them 1-1 since the return. The Rockets have won both their games since the restart, including a big win over the Bucks last game, 120-116. Might be a bit of a letdown here tonight after that huge win. I'm going to take the points with the Blazers here tonight. Play Portland. |
08-03-20 | Lakers v. Jazz +6.5 | 116-108 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 23 m | Show
The Lakers have the top seed in the West with Utah coming in at fourth. The Lakers struggled in their last game, a blowout loss to the Raptors. The Raptors strong defense stiffeled Anthony Davis, scoring only 14 points with LeBron James coming in at just 20. The Jazz were beat bad in their first game in the bubble, losing to the Thunder 110-94. The Jazz are a 6 1/2 point dog here tonight. I like the Jazz as both teams have looked less than impressive thus far. The points look good in this one. Play Utah. |
08-03-20 | Spurs +7 v. 76ers | 130-132 | Win | 100 | 9 h 41 m | Show
San Antonio Spurs looking to grab one of those last playoff spots sit just outside right now at 9th in the West, 2-games back of the Memphis Grizzlies. The Spurs coming off a big win over these Grizzlies on Sunday, 108-106. That win moved them a bit closer to the Grizzlies for that last playoff spot. Meanwhile, the Sixers sit 6th right now in the East, well ahead of 7th place Orlando. In fact, the Sixers have locked-up a playoff spot. They are coming off a loss to the Pacers, 121-127. I'm not all that impressed with how the Sixers are playing these days. Winning is tough enough but covering a spread like tonight against a team looking for wins is going to be tough. I'm taking the dog in this one. Play San Antonio. |
08-03-20 | Nuggets v. Thunder -6.5 | 121-113 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 18 m | Show
The Okc Thunder enter tonight's contest seeded fifth in the Western Conference with the Denver Nuggets seeded third. However, the Thunder trail the Nuggets by just 1 1/2 games, which makes tonight's contest even bigger. Have to toss out the Nuggets crushing loss to the Heat, 105-125 as they missed three starters for that game. They will have all three back for today. The Thunder have had little trouble thus far, beating the Jazz 110-94 and leading from wire to wire. Right now I see the Thunder as the team having it most together both on offense and defense. With that, I'm taking the Thunder here today. |
08-02-20 | Blazers v. Celtics -4 | Top | 124-128 | Push | 0 | 4 h 42 m | Show |
Celtics are 3rd in the East, though they did lose their opener of this restart a few nights ago to the Milwaukee Bucks, 112-119. They had the spread covered most of the game between falling back at the end. And no shame in a good game vs the NBA's top team in the Bucks. Now they play a Portland team who had to go to OT to beam Memphis on Friday, 140-135. Celtics still looks like one of the favorites and I'll lay this short 4-point line on Sunday. Play Celtics. |
08-01-20 | 76ers v. Pacers +6 | 121-127 | Win | 100 | 7 h 7 m | Show
Sixers and Pacers hit the court for their respective return to action tonight. Sixers didn't look all that great pre-Covid break. They will have to improve here in the second half if they hope to go anywhere in the playoffs. This is a big game for both since they are both tied for 5th in the East. Indiana has won two of the three meetings with the Sixers before the break and that gives them an edge in any tie with the Sixers. The Sixers will have the edge in size in this game while the Pacers will have the edge in speed. If the Pacers can keep somewhat close on the boards, I look for them to cover here with their better transition game. Take the points with the Pacers. |
07-31-20 | Celtics +5 v. Bucks | 112-119 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 47 m | Show
The Bucks had the NBA best record by far before the break. Can they pick up where they left off after the long off time? The Bucks also lead the NBA in scoring with a 118.6 ppg average. The Bucks will be without guards Bledsoe and Connaughton who both will miss this game after recovering from Covid. The Celtics have plenty of scoring on their team too with Walker, Tatum, Hayward and Brown. The Celtics have done well as a dog, going 20-8 their last 28 in that role. I'm going to take the dog here in this one as I have to see how rusty both teams will be. Take the points with Boston. |
07-30-20 | Jazz v. Pelicans -2.5 | Top | 106-104 | Loss | -110 | 45 h 20 m | Show |
Opening day for the resuming of the NBA season after the Covid break. The teams are all playing from the bubble so the risk of infection might not be the same as the MLB is going through. Good news for the Pelicans is that rookie phenom Zion Williamson cleared his quarantine period and has rejoined the team at practice. The Pelicans looked in fine form when they destroyed the Nets a few days ago, 99-68. Really when Zion plays this Pelicans team wins and with him now cleared to go, I like New Orleans minus the small number. Play Pelicans. |
03-11-20 | Kansas State v. TCU -1.5 | 53-49 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 28 m | Show
Big 12 Conference Opening round action here today from Kansas City, MO has Kansas State taking on TCU. Kansas State is 10-21 S/U and 14-17 ATS on the season. The Wildcats are 1-10 S/U their last 11 games with that win coming last time out at home over Iowa State, 79-63. They have covered three straight games. The Cats haven't done well in neutral court games, evidenced by their 0-6 ATS mark their last six tries. TCU is 16-5 S/U and 11-19 ATS on the season. The Horned Frogs are 3-4 S/U their last seven games. They are also 4-3 ATS their last seven games. I like the Horned Frogs here tonight. Play TCU. |
03-11-20 | North Carolina -3 v. Syracuse | Top | 53-81 | Loss | -104 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
ACC Conference 2nd round action here today has North Carolina taking on Syracuse. The Syracuse Orange got a bye in the 1st round while North Carolina had a blow out win against Virginia Tech, 78-56. The Tar Heels have had a tough season with a 14-18 S/U record and 13-19 spread mark. Still, this is a North Carolina and don't underestimate them. The Orange are 17-14 S/U and 14-17 ATS on the season. The Orange have lost two of their last three games both S/U and ATS. That includes a home loss to the Tar Heels back on March 3rd, 79-82 as a 5-point favorite. NCU is the favorite here in this contest despite the worst record. I still think this Tar Heels team is much better than their record shows. I'm going to lay the small number with them here. Play North Carolina. |
03-11-20 | Vanderbilt +9.5 v. Arkansas | 73-86 | Loss | -109 | 10 h 21 m | Show
SEC Conference first round action here tonight has Vandy playing against Arkansas. Vanderbilt is 11-20 S/U and 15-15 ATS on the season. Vandy Commodores will look to avenge a big loss to Arkansas earlier this year, 55-75. Vandy has done well vs good teams, going 7-2 ATS their last nine times vs a team with a winning record. Arkansas is 19-12 S/U and 15-16 ATS on the season. The Razorbacks are only 4-9 ATS on the road and while this is not a true road contest, it's still away from where they have done much better. Arkansas is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games. They have also covered just one of seven neutral site games. I'll take the points here with the Commodores as they look for some payback here tonight. Play Vanderbilt. |
03-11-20 | Iowa State v. Oklahoma State -6.5 | 71-72 | Loss | -109 | 7 h 54 m | Show
Big 12 First Round action here on Wednesday has Iowa State taking on Oklahoma State from Kansas City, MO. Iowa State Cyclones are 12-19 S/U and 13-17 ATS on the season. The Cyclones have lost three straight games and five of their last six. They are also 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games. They played Ok State back on Jan 21 and won at home, 89-82 then lost at Ok State on Feb 29th, 61-73. Oklahoma State Cowboys are 17-14 S/U and 14-17 ATS on the season. The Cowboys have won three straight games and are 6-2 S/U their last eight. They are also 7-3 ATS their last 10 games. Ok State laying 6.5 points here today. My numbers show Iowa State to be a very poor road team compared to the Cowboys on the road. Big edge here to Ok State. I'll lay the points. Take Oklahoma State. |
03-11-20 | CS Sacramento v. Weber State +4 | 62-54 | Loss | -110 | 1 h 5 m | Show
Big Sky Conference First Round action from Boise Idaho has Weber State taking on Sacramento State. Sac State is 15-14 S/U and 16-10 ATS on the season. They have lost their last two games but covered three and tied one with a push in their last five games. Weber State is 12-19 S/U and 12-16 ATS on the season. Weber has covered its last two games. Sac State laying anywhere from 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 here. Dogs have done well in these early conference tourney games. I have these two teams even here today and with that I'll take the points. Play Weber State. |
03-10-20 | North Dakota v. North Dakota State -6 | 53-89 | Win | 100 | 8 h 4 m | Show
It's the battle for the Peace Garden State here on Tuesday as North Dakota and North Dakota State battle for the Summit league championship and the right to go to the NCAA tournament. North Dakota Fighting Hawks come into today's contest with a losing record at 15-17 overall and 11-18 ATS. This is their third game in three nights after beating South Dakota in the conference opener, 74-71 and then yesterday over IP Fort Wayne, 73-56, both as dogs. Might not be as easy here tonight against a very good North Dakota State team. The ND State Bison are 24-8 S/U and 16-14 ATS on the season. They beat Denver in the opener 71-69 and then beat Oral Roberts yesterday, 75-69. They have won four straight games and 11 of their last 12. They beat North Dakota back on Jan 19th at home, 83-74 and then lost at North Dakota, 68-71 on Feb 22nd. That was their only loss in their last 12 games. I like the Bison here tonight. They price is right so lets come on down and win on the better team here tonight. Play North Dakota State. |
03-10-20 | Magic v. Grizzlies -2.5 | 120-115 | Loss | -102 | 7 h 10 m | Show
The Orlando Magic are holding onto that 8th and final playoff spot in the East with a 29-35 record. They are 5 1/2 games of 9th place Washington. Orlando has won and covered it's last two games. The Magic have also covered seven of their last eight games. Memphis is 8th place in the Western Conference with a 32-32 record and four-games ahead of 9th place New Orleans. The Grizzlies have won three of their last four games both S/U and ATS. They are also 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games and 8-2 their last 10 games as a favorite. Memphis has also done well against the Magic, covering 12 of the last 17 in this series. I'm going to be on the home team in this one. Play Memphis. |
03-10-20 | Wolves +12.5 v. Rockets | 111-117 | Win | 100 | 7 h 10 m | Show
The Houston Rockets look to snap a four-game losing streak tonight at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Rockets have dropped to 6th in the West. Houston is 21-10 S/U at home, but only 15-16 ATS. The Rockets are also 2-6 ATS in their last eight games at home vs a losing road team. Minnesota has lost its last two games both S/U and ATS. They are 15-15-1 ATS on the road this season. Double digit line for the Rockets to cover here tonight. With their current losing streak, I'll take the points with the visitor in this one. Play Minnesota. |

03-10-20 | Knicks v. Wizards -4.5 | 115-122 | Win | 100 | 6 h 9 m | Show
The New York Knicks and the Washington Wizards are both trying to climb back into a playoff spot. The Knicks have the harder task as they sit 12th and nine-games back of 8th place Orlando. As for Washington, they are 9th and 5 1/2 games back of that 8th spot. Both teams have lost seven of their last 10 games. The Knicks are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games as a road dog. Washington has been good at home, covering 11 of their last 16 on their home court. Washington is also 16-7-1 ATS their last 24 meetings with the Knicks. I like the home team here with this small line. Play Washington. |
03-10-20 | Hartford +7.5 v. Stony Brook | 64-58 | Win | 100 | 17 h 50 m | Show
American East Conference Semifinals has Hartford playing at Stony Brook. Hartford is 17-15 S/U and 17-12 ATS on the season. The Hawks finished 3rd in the conference. They finished winning three of their last four games. They also covered nine of their 14 on the road this year. Stony Brook Seawolves were 20-12 S/U and 15-16 ATS on the season. The Seawolves were only 5-9 ATS at home this season. They also have covered just one of their last 10 games. They lost last time vs Hartford at Stony Brook, 54-65 and lost at Hartford back in January, 65-68. Yet, here we are today with the Seawolves laying around 7 1/2 points to a team they haven't beaten yet this year. Don't forget they have covered just one of their last 10. I'll take the points here with the visitors. Play Hartford. |
03-09-20 | Coastal Carolina +4 v. Appalachian State | 65-70 | Loss | -109 | 7 h 17 m | Show
Second round tourney action in the Sun Belt conference here tonight has Coastal Carolina playing at Appalachian State. In this tournament, App State will be at home. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers have one of the most unique nicknames in sports. What is a Chanticleer? It's a type of Rooster. I guess that is better than the CC Roosters. Anyway, the Roosters, I mean Chanticleers are 16-16 S/U and 13-17 ATS on the season. Thy have won two of their last three games (all on the road) while covering two of those three. One of those wins was a road game at App State, where the Chanticleers won 84-77 as a 4 1/2 point dog. App State is 16-14 S/U and 15-13 ATS on the season. The Mountaineers are 2-2 S/U and 1-3 ATS in their last four games. My own numbers and power ratings support the visitor in this game. Also, dogs look to be covering at a good rate thus far in the tournaments. I'll take the points here with the Chantacleers today. Play Coastal Carolina. |
03-08-20 | Iowa v. Illinois -3.5 | Top | 76-78 | Loss | -109 | 7 h 49 m | Show |
Final Big 10 conference regular season game here today for both Iowa and Illinois. Iowa is 20-10 S/U and 18-11 ATS on the season. The Hawkeyes are just 1-2 S/U in their last three games including a home loss to Purdue, 68-77. Illinois is also 20-10 S/U on the season with a 15-14 ATS mark. Illinois lost its last time out, 63-71 at Ohio State. They are still 4-1 S/U their last five. Iowa historically has struggled on the road, going 15-36-2 ATS in their last 53 games vs a team with a winning home record. Illinois is 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a loss. The home team has covered the last four in this series. I like the home team here. Play Illinois. |
03-08-20 | Lakers v. Clippers -2.5 | 112-103 | Loss | -109 | 3 h 24 m | Show
The Lakers and Bucks matchup up the other night in a battle of top of the East vs top of the West and the Lakers won a low scoring affair. Now it's time for another cross-town rivalry game with the Clippers. The Clippers are coming off a win over the Rockets, 120-105, holding the high scoring Houston team to just over 100 points. They did this on the road like the did the previous game where they went into Oklahoma City and beat the Thunder 109-94, holding the Thunder to under 100 points. The Clippers have now won and covered six straight games. The Lakers have won and covered their last three games. While both teams have been hot, the Clippers have really done well against their cross-town rivals, going 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings and 15-7 their last 22 when the Clippers have been the home team. I like the Clippers again here today. Play LA Clippers. |
03-08-20 | Pelicans -6.5 v. Wolves | 120-107 | Win | 100 | 3 h 24 m | Show
The New Orleans Pelicans will have to pick it up if they hope to make the post season. The Pelicans are sitting 11th right now, 4 1/2 games back of that 8th and final playoff spot. The Pelicans are the 2nd highest scoring team in the West with a 117.2 ppg average. The Pelicans have won and covered their last two. The are 15-12-4 ATS on the road and average 117.1 ppg. Minnesota is next to last in the West. They have lost seven of their last 10 games. They have been a horrible bet at home, going 7-23-1 ATS. They are also 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 games overall. Hard to find any positives with this Minnesota team, especially from a bettor's perspective. I'm going to lay the points on the road. Play New Orleans. |
03-07-20 | St Bonaventure v. St. Louis -4.5 | 49-72 | Win | 100 | 8 h 13 m | Show
Final regular season contest here for these clubs in the Atlantic 10 conference between St Bonny's and St Louis. St Bonaventure Bonnies are 19-11 S/U and 17-12 ATS on the season. The Bonnies are 2-3 S/U and ATS in their last five games. St Louis is 21-8 S/U and 16-12 ATS on the season. The Billikens have won four straight games and are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four. Both these teams are likely bubble teams and will need good showing or to win their conference tourney. I like the prospects of St Louis better though and will take them here tonight. Play St Louis. |
03-07-20 | Valparaiso v. Missouri State -3.5 | Top | 89-82 | Loss | -104 | 7 h 23 m | Show |
Semifinals of the Missouri Valley Conference here today has Valparaiso playing at Missouri State. This game being played in St Louis, MO so a slight home court here for Missouri State. The Valp Crusaders had to go to OT yesterday to advance to tonight's contest. They beat Loyola Chicago, 74-73 as a 5.5-point dog. They beat Evansville in the first round, 58-55. They will have to be tired here tonight playing their third game in three nights plus that OT. Missouri State should be much fresher, having played just one game thus far. They had an easy time of it last night, blowing out Indiana State, 78-51. The game was never close and that means they should have more in reserve tonight. These conference tournaments really show how well conditioned teams are playing all these games in a row. Tonight, Missouri State is the much rested team. Play Missouri State. |
03-07-20 | Oklahoma v. TCU | 78-76 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 13 m | Show
Last game of the regular season today for these Big 12 teams as TCU hosts Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Sooners are 18-12 S/U and 13-15 ATS on the season. The Sooners have lost four of their last six games both S/U and ATS. Their one game vs TCU this year at home was an easy blowout win, 83-63. TCU is 16-14 S/U and 11-18 ATS. The Frogs can't win on the road, but have won their last three at home both S/U and ATS. That includes beating then No 1 Baylor, 75-72 as a 9-point dog. TCU is tough at home, bad on the road. TCU laying just 1-point at home looks like a bargain to me. Play TCU. |
03-07-20 | Oklahoma State v. Texas -3.5 | 81-59 | Loss | -106 | 5 h 23 m | Show
Both these teams conclude Big 12 regular season play here tonight as they get ready for their conference tourney. Oklahoma State is 16-14 S/U and 13-17 ATS on the season. The Cowboys have done well, but not so good at home. The Cowboys have also not done well in the role of a dog, going 3-8 ATS their last 11 tries. Texas is 19-11 S/U and 15-15 ATS on the season. Tonight's game is big for the Longhorns as they can hit that 20 win mark. They have covered five straight games and won five straight. This game means more to Texas tonight then it does to Ok State. I'm taking the home team here. Play Texas. |
03-07-20 | UCLA +3.5 v. USC | 52-54 | Win | 100 | 5 h 32 m | Show
PAC 12 regular season concludes here this afternoon for both these clubs. UCLA is 19-11 S/U and 15-12 ATS on the season. The Bruins are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five games. They have also won seven games in a row S/U. UCLA lost at Pauley Pavillion to USC back on January 11th, 57-68 as a 1.5 point favorite. USC is 21-9 S/U and 19-11 ATS. The Trojans have won two straight both S/U and ATS. You can pretty much throw out records when these cross-town rivals matchup. I like the visitors in this game plus the points. Play UCLA. |
03-07-20 | Baylor v. West Virginia | 64-76 | Win | 100 | 11 h 46 m | Show
Final game of the Big 12 regular season here for both these teams as West Virginia hosts 4th ranked Baylor. The Baylor Bears held the top spot in the nation for quite some time. That is until they have lost two of their last four games. The Bears are still 26-3 S/U and 18-11 ATS on the season. They have covered just one of their last four games. West Virginia having a fine season also at 20-10 S/U and 13-15 ATS. The Mountaineers have had a rough time lately, going 2-6 S/U and 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight games. Baylor has one of the top defenses in the nation, but that has let them down of late. Both Kansas and Texas Tech hit over 50% from the field against them here lately. The one big edge I see here for WVU is that they can score points down in the paint. WVU has a big edge on the boards and that will lead to 2nd chance points. I see this Baylor team as being a team primed for another loss. West Virginia will be inspired here in their last home game of the season. I'm taking the home team. Play West Virginia. |
03-06-20 | Missouri State -1.5 v. Indiana State | 78-51 | Win | 100 | 8 h 27 m | Show
Missouri Valley Conference QuarterFinals here on Friday from St Louis, MO has Missouri State taking on Indiana State. Missouri State Bears with a slight geographical advantage here today. The Bears are 15-16 S/U and 19-11 ATS on the season. They have covered three of their last four games and seven of their last eight games. Indiana State Sycamores are 17-11 S/U and 15.11 ATS on the season. They are 3-0-1 ATS their last four games. Missouri State a small favorite here today. My numbers actually give them a bigger advantage on a neutral court. These teams have split the prior two matchups this year with Indiana State winning at home, 71-58 and losing at Missouri State, 68-78. I like the visitor in this matchup today. Play Missouri State. |
03-06-20 | Blazers -3.5 v. Suns | 117-127 | Loss | -107 | 8 h 51 m | Show
The Portland Trailblazers need wins to get into the playoff picture as they are 9th right now, just 3 1/2 games back of 8th place Memphis. The Blazers have won two straight games, but need to win over losing teams like the Suns here tonight. The Suns are 13th in the West and have lost four straight games and seven of their last 10 games. Portland has covered four of their last five games when installed as the favorite. The Suns are 1-5 their last six as a dog and 6-20-1 ATS their last 27 games at home. I'll lay the small price on the road here tonight with the Blazers. Play Portland. |
03-06-20 | VCU v. Davidson -4 | 65-75 | Win | 100 | 8 h 47 m | Show
Atlantic 10 Conference matchup here on Friday has Va Commonwealth at Davidson. Both teams playing the last of their regular season games here today. VCU Rams are 18-12 S/U and 10-19 ATS on the season. They have not done well on the road, going 3-9 ATS in their 12 away games. They have also gone 1-6 ATS overall their last seven games. Davidson is 15-14 S/U and 12-17 ATS this season. The Wildcats are 15-14 S/U and and 12-17 ATS on the season. While Davidson has done bad on the road, they are 8-3 ATS at home. Davidson is a good home team, going 10-1 S/U on the season. Laying just four points with Davidson at home looks like a bargain to me. Play Davidson. |
03-06-20 | Thunder -7 v. Knicks | 126-103 | Win | 100 | 6 h 21 m | Show
The Oklahoma City Thunder are 6th in the Western conference with a 38-24 record. They have won six of their last 10 games. The Thunder have done very well on the road, posting a 21-8 S/U record. The Thunder are 22-8 ATS their last 30 games on the road and 9-2 ATS their last 11 on the road when that team has a losing record. The Thunder have also done well lately vs the Knicks, going 5-1 ATS in their last six meetings. The Knicks are 13th in the East with a 19-43 record. They have lost seven of their last 10 games. They are also 10-21 S/U at home and being outscored by 5.1 ppg this season. Thunder laying seven here tonight. I like them though in this spot. Play Oklahoma City. |
03-06-20 | Hawks v. Wizards -3.5 | 112-118 | Win | 100 | 6 h 51 m | Show
The Atlanta Hawks are not the worst team in the East, but close, sitting just ahead of the last place Cavaliers. The Hawks can be a decent play at home where I have made some money on them lately. However, once this team takes to the road it's Buyer Beware. The Hawks are 2-5 their last seven games as a road dog. The Washington Wizards are just one spot out of the playoff picture, 3 1/2 games back of the Magic for 8th place. The Wizards have done well at home for bettors, going 10-4 ATS in their last 14 on home court. I like the Wizards here tonight. Play Washington. |
03-06-20 | Siena v. Monmouth -1 | Top | 86-72 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 47 m | Show |
Metro Atlantic conference matchup here on Friday has Siena playing at Monmouth. Last game of the regular season for both these clubs as they get set to enter the conference tournament. The Siena Saints are 18-10 S/U and 14-14 ATS on the season. The Saints are 2-3 ATS in their last five games, though they have won eight games in a row straight up. The Saints have struggled though on the road, going 4-10 ATS in their 14 away games. They play a good Monmouth team here today that is 18-12 S/U and 15-14 ATS on the season. The Hawks are 3rd in the conference and have covered eight of their 12 home games. I like the home team here quite a lot today. They have are 11-1 at home straight up and laying just over a point at home we really just need them to win. Play Monmouth. |
03-05-20 | 76ers v. Kings -4.5 | 125-108 | Loss | -115 | 21 h 42 m | Show
The Philadelphia Sixers have lost two straight games and dropped to 6th in the East with a 37-25 record. The Sacramento Kings are trying to get into the playoff picture. They have won three straight games and seven of their last 10 games. The have closed to 3 1/2 games back of 8th place Memphis. Sacramento is 6-1 ATS their last 7; 5-1 ATS their last six home games and 6-1 ATS their last seven after scoring 100 or more points in their previous game. The Sixers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a dog and 2-8 ATS their last 10 games on 1 day of rest. In addition they have not been good on the road, going 5-20-1 ATS their last 26 road games. The Kings are 5-0 their last five vs the Sixers. I'm taking the Kings here tonight. Play Sacramento. |
03-05-20 | California Baptist +9.5 v. New Mexico State | 50-83 | Loss | -105 | 20 h 37 m | Show
Western Athletic Conference contest here tonight as Cal Baptist plays at New Mexico State. Cal Baptist with a pair of regular season games left, tonight at New Mexico State and then at Texas Rio Grande. Cal Baptist is 22-7 S/U and 17-8 ATS on the season. They are also 8-2 ATS on the road. New Mexico State Aggies are 24-6 S/U and 12-16 ATS on the season. However, at home at the Aggies are only 4-7 ATS. A bit surprised that a quality team like Cal Baptist getting almost double digits here tonight. My own numbers have this one closer to 5-points on the host. I'll take them thought. Play Cal Baptist. |
03-05-20 | Stanford +1.5 v. Oregon State | Top | 65-68 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 36 m | Show |
PAC 12 conference action here tonight has Stanford playing at Oregon State. Stanford still with two games left in the regular season as they close out Saturday at Oregon. Stanford is 20-9 S/U and 19-10 ATS on the season. They have covered their last four games. Oregon State is 15-13 S/U and 16-12 ATS this season. The Ducks are 0-4 S/U in their last four but have covered their last two games. Just need to pick the winner in this game tonight with the line around pick. I'll take the visitors. Play Stanford. |
03-05-20 | Texas Southern v. Southern -4 | Top | 74-89 | Win | 100 | 9 h 36 m | Show |
Extra board action here tonight has Texas Southern playing at Southern U. The Texas Southern Tigers are 2nd in the Southwestern Athletic conference. They are second despite a 14-14 S/U and 11-15 ATS record. In conference play they have done well, going 11-4 S/U but only 6-9 ATS. They have covered just two of their last eight games. The Southern Jaguars are 14-15 S/U and 17-7 ATS on the season. The Jags have covered five straight games and are 8-1-1 ATS their last 10. They have also won five games in a row straight up. Good matchup here tonight, but Southern U looks tough to me and I expect them to handle visiting Texas Southern. Play Southern U. |
03-05-20 | Houston v. Connecticut +2.5 | 71-77 | Win | 100 | 7 h 6 m | Show
American Athletic Conference action here as both these teams close out the regular season with a pair of games left on their respective schedules. Houston is ranked 21st in the nation with their 22-7 S/U and 16-13 ATS record. The Cougars haven't been the best covering team, especially of late, where they are 2-3 ATS their last five games. But what's most disconcerting is that they are 0-3 ATS in their last three road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games. They finish up with a difficult home game vs Memphis. U Conn won't make the NCAA's unless they win the AAC tourney. They are just 17-12 S/U and 17-11 ATS. The likely NIT bound Huskies have won their last three games. They have also won their last five home games. You have to go back to January for their last home loss and that was to Tulsa in OT. Getting a few points here today with a decent home team is more than I can pass on. Play U Conn. |
03-04-20 | Virginia -2 v. Miami-FL | 46-44 | Push | 0 | 10 h 57 m | Show
Atlantic Coast Conference action here tonight has Virginia playing at Miami Florida. Both teams still have one game left after tonight, even with conference tournaments already underway. The Virginia Cavs finish up at home against Louisville on Saturday. The Cavs are 21-7 S/U and 12-15 ATS on the season. Despite their less than stellar spread record, the Cavs have won six straight and nine of their last 10 while covering five straight. The Miami Florida Hurricanes are 14-14 S/U and ATS this season. The Canes have lost their last two games both S/U and ATS. They finish at home on Saturday against Syracuse. Miami might make a minor post season tourney, but defending NCAA champion Virginia is ready to defend their title. I'm Taking Virginia here to cover this very small spread. Play Virginia. |
03-04-20 | Florida State v. Notre Dame +2 | Top | 73-71 | Push | 0 | 10 h 57 m | Show |
Atlantic Coast Conference action here on Wednesday has Notre Dame hosting Florida State. The Florida State Seminoles are 24-5 S/U and 15-14 ATS on the season. The Seminoles are 4-1 S/U their last five and 7-2 their last nine. They are coming off a road loss at Clemson, 69-70 as a 3.5-point favorite. In fact, they have lost three of their last five road games. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 18-11 S/U and 15-12 ATS. The Irish would be considered a bubble team and need to win tonight and in their final home game against Virginia Tech to hit 20 wins. A good conference tourney showing and they should make the NCAA. However, they have to focus on tonight. The Irish are coming off a pair of road losses to Boston College and Wake Forest. They return home where they have won five straight games and are 4-1 ATS. Irish a very small home dog here tonight. I think they have much more motivation to win this game tonight. Play Notre Dame. |
03-04-20 | Jazz -8 v. Knicks | 112-104 | Push | 0 | 9 h 32 m | Show
The Utah Jazz sit 5th in the Western Conference right now with a 38-22 record, but just 3 1/2 games back of 2nd place Clippers. The Jazz have won two straight games, coming a road win at Cleveland, 126-113. The Jazz are 17-13 S/U and 15-14-1 ATs on the road this season. The New York Knicks are coming off a huge win over visiting Houston last game, 125-123. The Knicks blew a huge lead they built in the first half and a 10-point halftime lead and had to hold on for the win. It was the team's 2nd win and cover in a row. Still, they are just 2-5 S/U their last seven games. The Jazz are now 13-3-1 ATS their last 17 games following a spread win. They also cover well on the road, going 11-5 ATS their last 16 away games. The Knicks are just 6-16 their last 22 home games vs a winning road team. I'm going to take the visitor in this one. Play Utah. |
03-04-20 | St. Louis -2 v. George Mason | 69-57 | Win | 100 | 16 h 7 m | Show
Atlantic 10 Conference action here on Wednesday. While many conference enter into their conference tournaments, the A-10 still has a few games to go. St Louis plays today at George Mason and then finishes up at home against St Bonaventure. St Louis is 20-8 S/U and 15-12 ATS on the season. The Billikens have won three straight games and are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games. George Mason is 15-14 S/U and 13-16 ATS on the season. Mason has lost two straight games, four of their last six and eight of their last 10. They are also 5-12 ATS their last 17 games. I'll lay the small price here on the road with St Louis. Play St LOUIS. |
03-03-20 | Wizards v. Kings -5 | 126-133 | Win | 100 | 10 h 41 m | Show
The Washington Wizards are sitting in 9th place in the Eastern conference, four-games back of Brooklyn for that final playoff spot. The Wizards are 5-5 S/U in their last 10 games. They are 8-22 S/u on the road with a 15-14-1 ATS mark. The Sacramento Kings are 11th in the West, but just 3.5-games back of 8th place Memphis. The Kings have won two straight games and seven of their last 10. They did struggle last time out at home vs Detroit, trailing 1-18 to start the first four minutes of the game. It would take most of the game for them to erase that 17-point deficit, but they did and almost covered the 9-point spread. It was their first loss vs the number in their last five games. Moreover , they are 8-3 ATS their last 11 games. The Kings are 4-1-1 vs the Wizards in their last 6 at Sacramento. I look for the Kings to take this one tonight. Play Sacramento. |
03-03-20 | Raptors -4 v. Suns | 123-114 | Win | 100 | 9 h 41 m | Show
The Toronto Raptors are 2nd in the NBA East, but 9 1/2 games back of first place Milwaukee. They hold just a half game lead over 3rd place Boston. The Raptors look to snap a 3-game losing streak here tonight. They have been one of the better teams on the road this season, posting a 19-9 S/U and 14-13-1 ATS mark. The Raptors have been a pretty good team at bouncing back, evidenced by their 7-2 ATS mark their last nine after a ATS loss. The Phoenix Suns are 13th in the West and six games back of the last playoff spot. They have also lost three straight games. The Suns are only 11-21 S/U and 11-20-1 ATS at home this season. The Suns are 7-19 ATS their last 26 and 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 home games. I'm going to be on the visitor here tonight. Play Toronto. |
